She's sweet as an angel!Love the casual jacket - it goes with everything!

Blogger GINGER FASHION MONSTERS said ... (8:36 AM) :

Getting around by bike can be so much classier than other forms of transport.
I'm always more than impressed by women who have mastered the art of cycling in heels, as she obviously has!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:37 AM) :

Just lovely, but she's asking for a brain injury if she's riding without a helmet.

Blogger Luciane at said ... (8:37 AM) :

... And a brand new day starts in NYC! Pretty and totally charming.

Great picture and great bike! :-)

Have a great day!

Good to go! Fashionable AND environmentally aware!

Blogger comme fraiche said ... (8:48 AM) :

those aren't the shoes I'd recommend for bike riding, but off the bike they go well with what she's wearing. I like that pink bell on her handlebar, it could get a lot of use riding in city traffic

Blogger SAMANTHA said ... (9:33 AM) :

Incredible photo, I love that top.

Blogger Ray said ... (9:33 AM) :

If only we could all be this chic on a bicycle. But I agree with the other comments, flats may have been a better choice. Nonetheless, she is stunning and I love her pink bike bell!

Blogger Annette said ... (9:35 AM) :

So simple, so minimalistic, so chic! And I love that she's so sharply in focus.

What a wonderful photo.

Us Dutchies know how to rock an outfit on a bycicle! Nice photograph

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 AM) :

Beautifully minimalistic. Even on a bike she looks so confident and chic!

I have an odd question. I'm not exactly in-tune with the world of fashion, but I notice that in nearly all of your photos, I see almost no one with glasses (except fashion eyewear or sunglasses). Are corrective lenses really that uncommon among the fashionable? I had thought that glasses were beginning to become part of fashion, perhaps I was misinformed. It's a little disheartening to someone like me who's stuck in glasses for life.

Blogger two four eight one nine said ... (9:51 AM) :

Totally beautiful photo, and a lovely subject too.

Blogger Nomadic D. said ... (10:02 AM) :

hot hot hot, everything about this is perfect! what really kills me though is that rick owens(-ish?) jacket. Been coveting one for a long long time now. It looks stunning on her.

Blogger Rock 'n Style said ... (10:06 AM) :

For the people who love her shoes and want to buy it, they're from Balanciaga.

Anonymous Murray said ... (10:27 AM) :

She looks lovely, but no matter how stylish or lovely you are you look like an absolute moron riding a bicycle without a helmet.

Anonymous Apparel Therapy said ... (10:28 AM) :

How does she look that perfect on a bicycle?! I love the jacket and shoes - tough chic that goes with everything. I love that she's riding a men's bike, with a pink bell - adorable.

Blogger disco in moscow said ... (10:36 AM) :

I like cycle chic...

Blogger Chez Carolinette said ... (12:25 PM) :

Cycle chic is so cool!!!

Anonymous Timo said ... (12:27 PM) :

She's dressed just fine for biking, that is, if she'd just switch the bike to something a little more appropriate, like your classic euro utility bike... The sporty no fender lean forward fixie/ss with heels is imo just plain stupid.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:28 PM) :

Great Photo!

Blogger Christina said ... (12:33 PM) :

She's perfect. I wish I looked that good riding a bike.

Blogger Beatriz Fernández said ... (12:44 PM) :

me encanta esta foto!!! genial!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 PM) :

I find it really disheartening every time you post a photo of someone on a bicycle without a helmet. Images like this make people think it's so much cooler to bike helmet-less - the same way that a fashionable photo of someone smoking makes it look so chic.

On top of that, she's on the sidewalk! This person is clearly a biking hazard.

Blogger Jess at Thula jewellery said ... (12:58 PM) :

wow.. love everything she is wearing

Blogger KARA said ... (1:09 PM) :

lovin those shoes!! Finally good weather for bike riding in the city! its been soo cold

Blogger tater-tot said ... (1:25 PM) :

Supermodels biking in heels down E2St...just an average day in NYC, apparently.

Blogger The Fancy Teacup said ... (1:28 PM) :

What an edgy, chic outfit to be in while riding a bicycle! Very classy.
much love.

Anonymous berkshire mems said ... (1:29 PM) :

She looks fabulous ... but I want to tell her to wear a helmet and "sensible" (ie safe) shoes! Sorry, it's the mother in me.

Blogger Carolina Hardy said ... (1:31 PM) :

She look great!

Blogger Jana said ... (1:34 PM) :

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaach, she looks.... wonderful! I love slim young ladies ;) (no, I´m hetero, thanks for asking)

Blogger Malo said ... (1:39 PM) :

Just gorgeous... Is she a model? I am soure she is a model. She look amazing. Keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks for the post,

Blogger Eliza B. said ... (1:56 PM) :

I love the simplicity! It makes the photo all the more charming.

There isn't much else more refreshing than a bike ride around town.

Blogger Danielle said ... (2:08 PM) :

Great jacket, great picture! :)

Blogger The Lifestyle News said ... (2:16 PM) :

I love the composition of this picture is more natural and like an editorial magazine.
Really nice!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

beautiful, and you truly do find amazing individuals with great, unique style. however, why don't you try posting a portrait of someone who isn't a supermodel/6' tall/skinny as hell. i find it hard to believe there aren't any curvier people with amazing style. just try. i challenge you.

Anonymous Tamra said ... (2:37 PM) :

I was so excited to see this as I was looking for inspiration to get dressed this morning! I just bought these shoes a couple weeks ago. They're Balenciaga and I think they may still be on sale at!

Anonymous IS THIS IT? models review said ... (2:43 PM) :

haha don't know why, but pink bell is first thing I noticed: so adorable... :)

Blogger cj goad ~ photography said ... (2:47 PM) :

A very beautiful woman but for those interested in the bike that looks to me to be an SE Draft single speed. Just google Se bikes and look in the single speed/fixed series.

Blogger Bell Tessalee said ... (2:48 PM) :

I spy Balenciaga sandals!! Such a beautiful picture...

Blogger McNeill said ... (2:51 PM) :

I love those shoes and the bike. Who knew riding a bike could look so fabulous?

Blogger My Savage Side said ... (4:47 PM) :

great photo!!

Blogger Jan said ... (5:30 PM) :

Wow that jacket is so cool!

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:42 PM) :

Bike riding can be stylish! Growing up in Holland I know that bikes are no impediment to wearing heals and frocks and its not helmets that are needed but cycleways and educated motorists.

Blogger Sweet Pea (formerly Alice) said ... (5:50 PM) :

That is a great idea...

Just a Silhouette

Blogger Román Iglesias said ... (6:07 PM) :

I like shoes and the bike aswel hahah

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:32 PM) :

The jacket is just delicious, to say the least! What kind of fabric is this anyway?
It's also funny how some people comment on her not wearing a helmet! (In Europe, people do this all the time. Helmets are obligatory only for children in most cities). Her shoes are more likely to get her involved in a accident!

Blogger ROXY MARJ said ... (6:36 PM) :

I LOVE photos of people on Bikes! I have asked you this before, but please come to SLC and snap some shots of the bikers out here... Actually, here's a thought, doing a bike tour of the U.S.A and go to all the major cities - shoot the bikers and make a book out of it! :)

Blogger Nicky said ... (6:43 PM) :

Fashion people on bikes is a little too forced for my taste. I am more inspired by watching everyday people who struggle with transporation by bicycle because it is what they can afford. It's interesting how fashion can make a commodity out of the poor & their lifestyle.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:51 PM) :

She is very pretty, but just that. I am not really a fan of her outfit. A helmet would also be nice!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:17 PM) :

she's beautiful and looks great - however so very impractical - no helmet and the heels.

I wonder how far these stylish people (which you pou photograph so beautifully) actually ride ?

Blogger Lisa Lehmann @StudioJewel said ... (8:42 PM) :

wow. amazing style AND on a bike. she is my new hero!

Blogger K. A. Ruth Bushaw said ... (8:54 PM) :

is she real?

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:34 PM) :

Ok, Merry me! haha!

Anonymous slymoxa said ... (11:45 PM) :

Blogger flowercake said ... (1:15 AM) :

Wow she's biking in heels!

Blogger the dizzle said ... (2:58 AM) :

i have a friend crush on this girl. and it is totally possible to ride (albeit maybe a slow, non uphill ride) in heels as long as they're not super spikey (though i've totally seen it done before).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:51 AM) :

biking with heels is horrible for your shoes though! the bike pedals cut into your heel.

Anonymous Blondie said ... (5:41 AM) :

For the people who are saying she should wear more bike appropriate attire: this is how we do it in Holland. We bike in whatever we are wearing that day, and biking in heels is easier than walking in heels! Go Bette!

Blogger Thelma Frayne said ... (5:49 AM) :

How can someone look this 'together' on a bike? I don't get it. Maybe she does like Phoebe in Friends and just walks around with it looking cool :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:50 AM) :

What is with all the 'NO HELMET!!!' comments?

Hardly anyone in Europe wears a helmet.

Anyway, I like her top! I wish I could find nice pants liker hers, that fit me. All pants here in Australia are much too big for me and I'm not that skinny. Instead I am stuck wearing jeans:|

Blogger stilllemonade said ... (10:31 AM) :

She is so chic and sportive in the same time!
So elegant

Anonymous Elisabethbaysset said ... (2:54 PM) :

Je trouve vos prise de vue absolument remarquable ,
ce sont des gens de la rue ?
Bravo !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

I live in a very bike centered place, and hardly anyone wears a helmet. If you really use a bike to get around, then you will not wear a helmet, and probably wear heels and sandals pretty often. the only people who do wear helmets and correct bike shoes only use their bikes for a recreational ride now and then. Besides, aren't you safer wearing a helmet if you are walking too? Does that mean that we should all start wearing them whenever out of the house?

Anonymous Paris Alma said ... (5:10 PM) :

Ahh gorgeous!

Blogger Ridonkulus said ... (9:00 PM) :

love the slim pants and the drape of her jacket. also that pink bell on her handlebars looks adorable, like a giant pink macaron.

helmet debates get too heated as do seatbelt debates.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:39 AM) :

It's Bette! She's beautiful!
I always wanted to book her for saisonselect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 AM) :

love Bette!Havent seen much of her lately. She's Dutch (like me) which explains why she isn't wearing a one does that in Holland. Practically everyone uses a bike as a daily means of transportation so most people can ride a kid in elementary school you even take a 'cycling in traffic' exam
moreover i don't think Bette was actually riding on the sidewalk, but merely posing there..

Blogger Naftali Stern said ... (2:20 PM) :

Great pic and what great shoes..although my fav is her pink bike bell..

Anonymous simplystylishmom said ... (4:00 PM) :

I wish I could look that stylish and graceful on a bike!

Anonymous Tine said ... (4:02 PM) :

"Fashion people on bikes is a little too forced for my taste. I am more inspired by watching everyday people who struggle with transporation by bicycle because it is what they can afford. It's interesting how fashion can make a commodity out of the poor & their lifestyle."

Whoa there ... not everyone who rides a bike is forced into because they can't afford other means of transportation. Sometimes it's just the most practical and fastest way to get places, especially in dense or compact cities.

Blogger ELLA ELVIANA said ... (11:01 PM) :

wow she is stunning!!! she must be a model.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 AM) :

love. not sure about the jacket but it looks like Vince's paper leather drape in the elephant color. I think the heals are a little unnecessary for the bike though.
