Tweed and denim...can't get much better than that this winter!!

Anonymous Kristijonas said ... (4:56 PM) :

The boots in the first picture are an eye-popping stand out, and the complimenting raw denim also adds balance and texture. Love the look.

Great photos! and love the jackets.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 PM) :

It looks like those boots are too big for that person in the top photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:04 PM) :

I really dig the houndstooth coat and the denim. Not something you typically see on a guy. The tassel loafers and socks is great on the female, as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:04 PM) :

I know I'm supposed to look at the tweed and denim of these pictures, but I like the girl's loafers with the tassels and the ankle socks. It's taking some time to persuade me, but I like the socks and flat shoes look. It especially looks good with nice legs.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:41 PM) :

Only commenting because I like the word tweed. Though it does sound like weed and I've never done weed so not sure why I like the word. The coat looks pretty old actually. I personally like short cut tweet like Chanel jacket style...that's classy tweed. :)

Blogger christinaooi said ... (7:49 PM) :

the boot tongues and the cuffed jeans are just genius!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:02 PM) :

I too love the boots in the first photo and am hoping someone can tell us who makes them!?

Blogger Paula Elizabeth Fowler said ... (8:12 PM) :

Love the look! I'm looking forward to pulling out my tweed, boots, etc, We're still in the 70's in Atlanta, GA...

Anonymous jdit said ... (8:17 PM) :

A-ha! Great black boots on a puddle splashing mission maybe...? - best in a city where, in the not too distant future, salt water puddles will rule the way and the day from tons of the stuff spread about a city's undeserving streets...Tweed, tweed, beautiful tweed! (as sung to the opening strains of the theme to The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie)

Anonymous ttv said ... (8:18 PM) :

Old style shoes, but I like the style and color combination.

Blogger 82Brute said ... (9:21 PM) :

Those black boots bring back memories--back in the day in my little horsey circle brand new boots signified a lack of the rider's experience (and they were incredibly uncomfortable!) and so we developed strategies to break them in as quickly as possible. I'll love these boots so much more once they have some miles on them. In the second photo, the rumpled ankle socks with the gorgeous tasseled loafers--!

Anonymous VOZnewyork said ... (10:27 PM) :

The second photo is like an advertisement for Fall 2010! What a great shot!! The harmony of the solid colors and the patterns is just perfect...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 PM) :

Neither coat is matched up the center back seam. It really bugs me on the tan and white houndstooth.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:39 PM) :

those tasseled loafers are gorgeous -- very cool and elegant. can anyone tell me whose they are?

Blogger Words said ... (11:09 PM) :

a more relaxed suedehead style, very nice, you can't really go wrong with well tailored brown houndstooth trench and sharp ankle boots or wingtips, the addition of dark denim skinnies really adds something refreshingly unexpected but still true to the classic forms. Also, love that its brown houndstooth and dark denim, black houndstooth wouldn't work as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:15 PM) :

I wish I owned some tweed.

drop by and see my blog. comments make my day!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 AM) :

LOVE the combo in the first photo; love even more that the jeans & boots are being worn old-school New England hockey player style (guys in my high school wore their jeans or Levi's cords semi-tucked into untied Timberlands this way--or the reverse, with the pants tucked into the barrel of the boot but over the tongue ...)

I love the roughness and smoothness of both fabrics! It looks elegant and casual at the same time - and exactly what this season demands. Thanks,

Blogger Barbara von Enger said ... (3:59 AM) :

Loafers and socks - reminds me of my boarding school years in Switzerland.

The combination in the first image is so Striking - the boots shine against the blue of the jeans paired with that jacket. I adore the details on the boots, too.

Blogger Siblings said ... (4:07 AM) :

Love it
reminds me of high school late 80's. Buying second hand old man tweed coats and pairing them with Santana jeans (tapered with zippers so you could get your foot through) and Doctor Marten creepers.

Blogger Kristian said ... (7:48 AM) :

Ouch! Those brand new boots looks like they hurt! Did the owner just leave a shoe store with those on his/her feet!? I predict band aids galore!

i love the playful marriage between denim and tweed. too bad tweed aint popular in the Philippines where i am from. haha! (^_^)

Anonymous fabrica said ... (1:31 PM) :

love the boots, in the 1st shot, and the gold trainers in the 2nd

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

It would be fun to have another shot with a denim jacket and tweed pants.

Agree with comments above that the girls' shoes and socks look so good, they draw attention away. She would be deserving of a shot on her own.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:49 PM) :

that guy's boots are to DIE for I'm FREAKING out can anyone ID them so that I can go make them mine?

Blogger Liz S said ... (4:56 PM) :

Great mixes--but gee it's frustrating not seeing the full picture.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:02 PM) :

I prefer the second photo. Really nice wide houndstooth paired with the light creme shoe. His better half has great tassle shoes as well.

Nice boots on the first, but a forced look what with the exaggerated tongue exposure; this cat wants people to look down and admire. Rule of Thumb - don't scream it, whisper...

Blogger Ria Charlton said ... (6:50 PM) :

FANTASTIC boots! Loving tweed and denim in the city as well :)

Blogger M for CityStyle said ... (7:40 PM) :

Anonymous Lue Dax said ... (11:20 PM) :

Funny finding this here!

Just wore this combination today! I chose to wear my more worn looking boots, definitely a great fall combo for a wisconsin afternoon.

Blogger Ostentatious said ... (12:20 AM) :

No doubt for the best combination at Fall/Winter.
