Very suave. I like the navy blue coat.

Blogger William Newton said ... (4:17 PM) :

If it's cold enough to wear a pea coat, it's also cold enough to wear proper socks and turn your cuffs down.

Blogger Michelle Bobb-Parris said ... (4:19 PM) :

This is such a great shot. I love the light and the balance.

I also noticed the socks, which reminds me, have you managed to locate a retailer in NYC for those mini ones you were looking for?

could use a nice pair of red socks to make it perfect i think.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:26 PM) :

LOL William has a point. This look is great, but seriously it doesn't make much sense, but then again since when does fashion make sense?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:52 PM) :

Well this is a man who likes to hedge his bets there's a piece of clothing for every season here and it just doesn't work it didn't work when we only had a shot of his feet (freaking footies) and its no better full length.

Blogger Isis Diaz said ... (4:59 PM) :

Not really a fan of the socks peeking out from his shoes!

There are those goddamn footies again. What a suave type, huh? Love the eyebrows. Stop the light from reflecting into his eyes, I bet. I'd love to chase this cat up an olive tree, if you know what I mean.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

put a cape on him and he's ready for halloween - as count dracula.

interesting looking man. he'd make me look twice on the street. especially at the shaped brows.

still hate the short pants. a trend that can go away anytime.

footies make sense, though i'm not fond of how they look.

Blogger Coy Fallacy said ... (7:53 PM) :

He looks very classic. I would definitely give him a double take! I love the coat and the rolled cuffs.....very 50s-esque.

Also, I am more interested in the coat than the blue jacket! :)

Anonymous gucci uk said ... (9:46 PM) :

Although I do agree with your post, I have my own reservations.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 PM) :

As the picture unfolded, from the top down, I was entranced; then the rolled up pants, bare ankles, dark clod hopper shoes and FOOTIES appeared...like having a nightmare you have trouble waking from. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Blogger Smith Walker-Greaves said ... (2:07 AM) :

Too, too, too many colours. Navy Pea coat and stripes with sport socks and dark shoes. At least some brown brogues with laces please. I understand the reasoning regarding current trends, but Spring/Summer is beginning in the southern hemisphere. It's time to find the transition wear to winter.

Blogger Laurence John said ... (4:50 AM) :

one should either wear socks or not wear socks, but rule those silly footie things out. they look about as stylish as an athletic knee support and ruin the line of a good pair of shoes.

Nice! I always appreciate it when someone doesn't respect "the rules"! Who says you have to wear socks anyway?

Anonymous Grumpy Typewriter said ... (6:16 AM) :

Exposed ankles with an overcoat of any kind (and jumper) looks incongruous and not in a good way.

Blogger Siblings said ... (7:51 AM) :

i really like navy coats! and his brows!

Blogger Katherine said ... (7:55 AM) :

Where are the men that dress like this where I live? I think it's interesting how he's taken out his shoelaces, or it at least appears that way.

http://www.lapetitemarmoset.blogspot.com

Anonymous Maryanne said ... (8:55 AM) :

yes!
fashion rules are meant to be broken.
one doesn't need socks.
one doesn't need shoe laces.
one can cuff up their trousers.

you can be well groomed on your way to the office, but still look as though your heart is somewhere on a beach.

Anonymous Stephan Pockrandt said ... (9:11 AM) :

You can bring it again and again - these "socks" aren't nice and destroy the whole outfit.

Anonymous Alessandro said ... (11:09 AM) :

I think he looks like a house painter going to his next job; he had no time to take a shower and had to rush out, so he even forgot to tie his shoe laces. In the rush, he put on his little brother's pants. It's too bad the whole things looks so ugly, becasue there are nice individual elements, such as the peacoat for example.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

What's this twee weenie sock look all about?! Put some proper socks on, people! And add some laces while you're at it. Ruins an otherwise fine look.

Anonymous jimjims said ... (11:38 AM) :

awesome coat and shoes.

kinda has a count dracula look to him.

http://jimjims.net

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 PM) :

The top half and the bottom half, it makes no sense.

You know what it looks like? Without wanting to make fun of him. It looks like he just waded with his feet through a stream and is trying to dry them while walking.

The top half suggests cold weather, the bottom half suggests warm weather.

On the other hand, if people in Milan are doing it, soon people across the world may be doing it..

Blogger Heavycats said ... (5:05 PM) :

another dressed with an outfit that knocks with the general aspect, short pants and no socks or short are only good if you go to beach.

Anonymous bebek said ... (5:14 PM) :

I loved the navy blue coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:32 PM) :

In this case, the "footies" showing from the shoes is really nice! Maybe because the volume of the coat balances with it. I never thought I would compliment a guy with footies but he certainly knew how to pull it off.

Anonymous Roychelle said ... (9:14 PM) :

seriously, i dont mind the ankle socks at all! everyone seems to think otherwise. i believe this man looks quite ritzy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 PM) :

One day, the no-sock look will be rued and mocked.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:37 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:20 AM) :

y'know in the last or 2nd last Twilight book they go to the Italian city and vampires are closing in from all directions.... I think this is it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 PM) :

It's Eddie Munster all grown up!

Blogger Ami said ... (4:19 PM) :

The hair and eyebrows are captivating, the angular face and beautiful layers of navy entrancing, but rolled cuffs belong on a beach with deck shoes, and I can never accustom myself to men in short pants and dress shoes with oddly exposed ankles. Don't do it. Not attractive, no matter how "chic."
