Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 AM) :

That photo could be used in an anti-smoking campaign!

Blogger 18 Kerut said ... (8:26 AM) :

Wow.. what an interesting effect the smoke is producing.

Blogger SPEETway said ... (8:27 AM) :

wonderful picture.

Blogger Wallace Chapman said ... (8:27 AM) :

gorgeous shoes / socks. great photo. Should add, in a lot of countries styley girls smoking on the street is seen as more tragic than beautiful - but anyway :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:32 AM) :

I used to work in Via Senato! Great area to work in Milan not far from Galleria VE and Duomo. The girl is lovely, her dress is superb tech-romantic. For the shoes I would go for something more elegant perhaps ballerinas...

Blogger Vargas said ... (8:33 AM) :

Utterly enchanting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 AM) :

wow. she is smokin. and not just literally.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 AM) :

Lovely photograph! The smoke and out of focus background blends with the ambiguity of the see-through dress. I'm not sure if I like the brown bag here, but I am lost in her smoky eyes so it really doesn't matter.

Anonymous Zara said ... (8:38 AM) :

Wow, beautiful!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:39 AM) :

Incredible dress and the smoke go perfect with her devil eyes.

Blogger Misnomer said ... (8:42 AM) :

That's a beautiful dress. And I actually like how everything is in the same colour family here.
Oh, and her shoes are very beautiful as well.

There's an "old lady" chic to this look that I like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 AM) :

How wonderful to scroll down and come to those shoes and socks. So pretty and so comfortable. Now that is amazing. Let's go for a walk.

Anonymous Gary said ... (8:53 AM) :

Yes ! I the smoke and the shoes ! She looks like a woman from outerspace. Love it. And very chic. Very nice dress too of course.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 AM) :

very inspiring. would it be as beautiful w/out her eyes?

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:06 AM) :

Perfect shot. I like her gentlemen footwear style. later, FashionLifeCoach

I love the dress, beautiful girl :)

Blogger Alisa said ... (9:27 AM) :

to me she just looks very elegant, sophisticated and chic. love the dress and the contrast/combination of the shoes+socks and the dress. love the fact the dress is buttoned up, it gives it a masculine touch and the black socks and brogues complete the look!
in my view, it's a perfect outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

She has raided my closet, including my new shoes. What lovely taste she has. ;)

Anonymous Milk Two Sugars said ... (9:58 AM) :

great outfit and a fantastic shot - I love how you can see the cigarette smoke!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

I really like this picture, there´s something dreamy and sophisticated about it. The dress, the socks, the shoes and the billowing smoke from the cigarette - it all adds up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 AM) :

She looks gorgeous, but I can't help but feel disheartened that every woman pictured on this site only fits one certain body type.

Are model-skinny girls the only ones with the fashion sense?

Anonymous Best of Beehive said ... (10:05 AM) :

Beautiful. That's the way to wear sheer fabric.

Blogger Augusta Hyland Wilson said ... (10:09 AM) :

Not only due to her physical resemblance, but quirky style as well, my first thought was that this was picture of Alexa Chung (which I consider a compliment)!

Blogger Madame en noire said ... (10:11 AM) :

FAB. LOOK! great.

Blogger TorontoVerve Street Style said ... (10:18 AM) :

Looks sinister, but cool.

Anonymous all-in-the-silhouette said ... (10:21 AM) :

Cool dress. It reminds me of the shirtwaists my mom used to wear.

She is such an interesting combo of wicked-pretty, and buttoned-up schoolgirl. Inspiring look. And I'm beginning to love the return of the waist.

Blogger SarahPeslar said ... (10:25 AM) :

She makes smoking look more then glamorous !

Blogger Mxolisi Ngonelo said ... (10:26 AM) :

I just absolutely loathe these cigarette pics. Like they're cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:28 AM) :

Breath-taking eyes... and of course her outfit compliments them perfectly. She even makes that buttoned-up long-sleeve dress look really sexy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

Great outfit, and fantastic photo! While the smoke gives this an ethereal quality, the sheer amount of smoking the people in your photos engage in is shameful. Use your camera for good!

Could you picture this nice demure buttoned-up dress with a pair of killer Italian heels.....? Much better, no.....? This woman is so beautiful........she should leave these flat, mannish brogues to the geeks who shop @ Opening Ceremony...... :-)

Blogger Anna of The Analog House said ... (10:48 AM) :

very Alexa Chung...

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (10:50 AM) :

I love her dress!

Anonymous Mery said ... (10:58 AM) :

Oh, I love her style. Black and white made so interesting with different textures and patterns and shapes and sizes! Comfortable, yet inspiring. The shoes, the hair, the eyes, the buttoned up light dress.
I would be intrigued to see her look in that checked coat.
Lovely dark lightness!

Blogger Anita Puksic said ... (11:02 AM) :

Beautiful! Her dress is fantastic! And I love that she is wearing flat shoes.

Peace and love!

Blogger joshylola said ... (11:16 AM) :

Great dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:16 AM) :

Too bad the cigarette absolutely ruins this shot...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

Dress is amazing! Really like it. But the eyes are just scaring.

Blogger FABianna said ... (11:28 AM) :

Everything. Is. Great. minus the smoking.

Blogger SaRi said ... (11:28 AM) :

the attitude is breathtaking!very girly, yet tough at the same time - the image of a modern woman.
i'm totally drooling over the gorgeous peterpan-collared sheer dress! =D

Anonymous Shantel said ... (11:37 AM) :

Great style. I'm impressed by her overall look and especially her shoes and socks, which are somehow perfect. And her bag. She gives the impression of having taste, but not caring so much to impress us.

By the way, did you notice the building she is standing next to? Homely at first glance, it has some interesting details, such as the pink granite surface and rounded window opening. In the lobby there are ceramic door handles shaped like weird seahorses. If you look at the building from across the street, behind the glass above the doors (and in between the advertisements) is an abstract art work. It's by Lucio Fontana, the artist who used neon lights and wrote a theory of television. You can barely see it because of the reflections--sort of like the model's transparent dress.

Ah, Milan! Thank you, Sartorialist.

Anonymous Zenobiar said ... (11:41 AM) :

Great pic and effect with the smoke, the smokey colors and fabric and her smokey eyes. Interesting individual pieces-dress, shoes, bag. But the outfit overall isn't working for me. Maybe it's the shoes. They may be comfortable but they just don't go with the shirtwaist. And no, I'm NOT suggesting high heels.

Blogger LeVicomte said ... (11:42 AM) :

Anonymous kelli said ... (12:01 PM) :

Fab look sans the smoke!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:03 PM) :

The most striking part of this photo to me is her eyes. The smoke makes them look a smokey blue/grey. Nice!

I want to quit smoking, but that photo, that's exactly what I have in my mind, so beautiful. Time to smoke again. If you want to repond a question, a spanish one, check my blog.

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (1:50 PM) :

This lady balances in a very charming way the female (mostly) with male attitude towards her wardrobe. I like it a lot!

Anonymous said ... (2:13 PM) :

Love how you over exposed it a tad bit just to capture the smoke. Good sacrifice if i may add.

Check out my website site scott!!

Do yourself a favor and have Garance give you a lesson in backlighting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:21 PM) :

Aw, I shouldn't be looking at this shot. It's very dangerous for me.

I'm trying to quit for a while and this kind of wonderful image makes me go 'oh, whatever, it's still stylish' again.

But the cure is thinking she'd be just as stylish without the sig. Which is true.

I knew scrolling down the pic that she'd be wearing male flats with socks. It's the right way to go with the dress.

Blogger Pink said ... (3:30 PM) :

lovely outfit!!!

Blogger Samantha said ... (3:51 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:48 PM) :

wow! smookey girl!
an awsome from the old times...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:10 PM) :

I'd like to see those legs after another 15 years of smoking. Ouuuwwwch.

They're beautiful now though.

Blogger Megan said ... (5:24 PM) :

Wow. That is my favorite for sure.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

it's not just the sheer dress, it's the importance of the slip underneath. a beautiful slip is hard to find. the 50s hard polyester cannot be destroyed but also, unattractive. this slip is none of that. please can fashion houses bring back the fundamentals of lingeries as something more than just sex-clothes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:01 PM) :

smoking God I miss smoking!

Blogger Hannah Stephenson said ... (7:03 PM) :

Blogger Monique said ... (7:17 PM) :

Ahh! Whimsical. Such a great shot, really, I love, love, love it. Her eyes are striking.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:45 PM) :

wow! what at amazing shot. those smoky eyes looking through the smoke. This image has got to me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

I love this dress too, it is exactly what I'm looking for, but can't find. I also adore the oxfords with the socks. Such a delightful outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 PM) :

i think it's a shame so many people think that smoking is a "stylish" thing to do. i'm wondering if you consider this as well, seeing the number of pictures you take of people with cigarettes. i think smoking is disgusting. and i think those who think that smoking is chic is absolutely fooling themselves. you don't necessarily have the responsibility of promoting any sort of moral values through your blog, but i think it's quite hard to ignore those several people who commented above that looking at your pictures make them want to smoke (again.)

Anonymous David A. said ... (11:01 PM) :

I love the photo, she looks almost spectral.

Blogger Grace Escudero - The Afeminada said ... (1:39 AM) :

Cute dress..but I actually quite like the smoke coming from her cigarette.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 AM) :

Steampunk vampire schoolgirls rock.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 AM) :

A note on the quitting and glamorizing issue:

Seeing Marc Jacobs at work doesn't help much either...

Blogger 3 MAIGLÖCKCHEN said ... (3:23 AM) :

nice picture, i love the effect of the smoke.

Blogger NVA said ... (5:56 AM) :

this pic is so fly

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 AM) :

But remember...

Smoking kills!

Blogger Ashes said ... (8:27 AM) :

Great shot. Love her style, her eyes are phenominal.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:12 AM) :

i think she's a ghost.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

this makes me want to take up smoking again. Perfect insouciance.

Anonymous EliseT said ... (12:10 PM) :

I love the socks and flat shoes with bare legs - and that is virtually impossible to do well.

Anyone know what make the shoes are?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

first of all great shot! The translucent dress, the smoke curling up, and the lights behind make this a beautiful photograph. Her eyes are amazing and I love that girly dress with the tie up loafers and socks. Great style, great shot.

Blogger Ninjagaiden78 said ... (1:30 PM) :

Great shot Sart.

Blogger vanya said ... (8:31 PM) :

lovely dress
bad cigarette

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 PM) :

This is one of the comments:
"She makes smoking look more than glamorous!"

That's what's wrong in the 'smoking' pics: they treat the cigarette as a fashion accessory.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 PM) :

Love a dress that can be worn just about everywhere. The shoes are great too, but I would wear black patent slingbacks like the ones pictured on Susan van der Lindes's website.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 AM) :

Hmm...she's a lovely young lady indeed, but...let's just imagine the smell of cigarette around her. And the smell of her breath...Or the smell of her nice clothes. What do you think now?

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:10 AM) :

I love how her eyes are brought out by the blue sign behind her head and yet partially hidden by smoke.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

Thought you had some weird photographic effect happening then realised it is horrible cigarette smoke. what a shame on such a great look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 AM) :

Wow! I can't believe how many people are downing you because of the cigarette! If a picture makes you want to smoke, then maybe you shouldn't be looking at pictures. Have some self-control people. She looks great and she happens to smoke, great picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:50 AM) :

Nice shot. But, smoking is bad.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

I thought she was holding a blue balloon. Somewhat disappointed

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 PM) :

Nice bag, is it just something popping out of the bag, or is it a part of the bag?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 PM) :

Amazing! A real modern day Vamp! I can barely see the 'smoke and mirrors' behind the space age, modern-esque beauty. Haunting. How daft, and mesmorizing batman. Almost demonic!

Anonymous Sally said ... (9:08 AM) :

I love her!

I love the dress, I love the fuzzy effect on her face! Adds jus the right touch :)

Greetings from Saudi Arabia
