I used to work in Via Senato! Great area to work in Milan not far from Galleria VE and Duomo. The girl is lovely, her dress is superb tech-romantic. For the shoes I would go for something more elegant perhaps ballerinas...

Blogger Vargas said ... (8:33 AM) :

Utterly enchanting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 AM) :

wow. she is smokin. and not just literally.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 AM) :

Lovely photograph! The smoke and out of focus background blends with the ambiguity of the see-through dress. I'm not sure if I like the brown bag here, but I am lost in her smoky eyes so it really doesn't matter.

to me she just looks very elegant, sophisticated and chic. love the dress and the contrast/combination of the shoes+socks and the dress. love the fact the dress is buttoned up, it gives it a masculine touch and the black socks and brogues complete the look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

I really like this picture, there´s something dreamy and sophisticated about it. The dress, the socks, the shoes and the billowing smoke from the cigarette - it all adds up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 AM) :

She looks gorgeous, but I can't help but feel disheartened that every woman pictured on this site only fits one certain body type.

Are model-skinny girls the only ones with the fashion sense?

Anonymous Best of Beehive said ... (10:05 AM) :

Beautiful. That's the way to wear sheer fabric.

Blogger Augusta Hyland Wilson said ... (10:09 AM) :

Not only due to her physical resemblance, but quirky style as well, my first thought was that this was picture of Alexa Chung (which I consider a compliment)!

Cool dress. It reminds me of the shirtwaists my mom used to wear.

She is such an interesting combo of wicked-pretty, and buttoned-up schoolgirl. Inspiring look. And I'm beginning to love the return of the waist.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:28 AM) :

Breath-taking eyes... and of course her outfit compliments them perfectly. She even makes that buttoned-up long-sleeve dress look really sexy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

Great outfit, and fantastic photo! While the smoke gives this an ethereal quality, the sheer amount of smoking the people in your photos engage in is shameful. Use your camera for good!

Oh, I love her style. Black and white made so interesting with different textures and patterns and shapes and sizes! Comfortable, yet inspiring. The shoes, the hair, the eyes, the buttoned up light dress.
I would be intrigued to see her look in that checked coat.
Lovely dark lightness!

i'm totally drooling over the gorgeous peterpan-collared sheer dress! =D

Anonymous Shantel said ... (11:37 AM) :

Great style. I'm impressed by her overall look and especially her shoes and socks, which are somehow perfect. And her bag. She gives the impression of having taste, but not caring so much to impress us.

By the way, did you notice the building she is standing next to? Homely at first glance, it has some interesting details, such as the pink granite surface and rounded window opening. In the lobby there are ceramic door handles shaped like weird seahorses. If you look at the building from across the street, behind the glass above the doors (and in between the advertisements) is an abstract art work. It's by Lucio Fontana, the artist who used neon lights and wrote a theory of television. You can barely see it because of the reflections--sort of like the model's transparent dress.

Ah, Milan! Thank you, Sartorialist.

Anonymous Zenobiar said ... (11:41 AM) :

Great pic and effect with the smoke, the smokey colors and fabric and her smokey eyes. Interesting individual pieces-dress, shoes, bag. But the outfit overall isn't working for me. Maybe it's the shoes. They may be comfortable but they just don't go with the shirtwaist. And no, I'm NOT suggesting high heels.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:21 PM) :

Aw, I shouldn't be looking at this shot. It's very dangerous for me.

I'm trying to quit for a while and this kind of wonderful image makes me go 'oh, whatever, it's still stylish' again.

But the cure is thinking she'd be just as stylish without the sig. Which is true.

I knew scrolling down the pic that she'd be wearing male flats with socks. It's the right way to go with the dress.

Blogger Megan said ... (5:24 PM) :

Wow. That is my favorite for sure.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

it's not just the sheer dress, it's the importance of the slip underneath. a beautiful slip is hard to find. the 50s hard polyester cannot be destroyed but also, unattractive. this slip is none of that. please can fashion houses bring back the fundamentals of lingeries as something more than just sex-clothes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

I love this dress too, it is exactly what I'm looking for, but can't find. I also adore the oxfords with the socks. Such a delightful outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 PM) :

i think it's a shame so many people think that smoking is a "stylish" thing to do. i'm wondering if you consider this as well, seeing the number of pictures you take of people with cigarettes. i think smoking is disgusting. and i think those who think that smoking is chic is absolutely fooling themselves. you don't necessarily have the responsibility of promoting any sort of moral values through your blog, but i think it's quite hard to ignore those several people who commented above that looking at your pictures make them want to smoke (again.)

This is one of the comments:
"She makes smoking look more than glamorous!"

That's what's wrong in the 'smoking' pics: they treat the cigarette as a fashion accessory.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:10 AM) :

I love how her eyes are brought out by the blue sign behind her head and yet partially hidden by smoke.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

Thought you had some weird photographic effect happening then realised it is horrible cigarette smoke. what a shame on such a great look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 AM) :

Wow! I can't believe how many people are downing you because of the cigarette! If a picture makes you want to smoke, then maybe you shouldn't be looking at pictures. Have some self-control people. She looks great and she happens to smoke, great picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:50 AM) :
