Although I dont think I will ever embrace the Nordic sweater, I like how he used basics to create a very current outfit, and by the way Filson should take notice of how to photograph their backpack. It looks infinitely better here than in their website. I like that everything is honest, there are no affectations. Jorge from WPB

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:48 AM) :

tiens, un col châle!!!

Blogger StreetStyleNews said ... (8:50 AM) :

Favorite items on this pic are the bags!

Blogger Paweł said ... (8:51 AM) :

What i like best about that outfit is not the outfit itself, but the intriguing lovely yellow accessories. The rucksack and the bag are strange enough but somehow effin amazing. Lov'em

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 AM) :

Looks great, but I can't know if he wears the labels or if they wear them. To the layman, however, he's doing just fine.

Oh yes, lovely Filson bags.

Blogger larainydays said ... (9:16 AM) :

If you're going to carry around everything you own, these are nice bags to do it.

Blogger Bethany Siggins said ... (9:18 AM) :

This reminds me of that joke to always carry two bags so you don't have to help someone else with theirs. "Sorry, I'd help but I've got these bags."

Anonymous pp' said ... (9:19 AM) :

just everybody's style right now, bored to see the same guy everywhere

Filson bags, otherwise nothing notable about this guy.

Blogger MoonRox said ... (10:27 AM) :

Looks good, and is practical and warm! The Filson bags are great. I also enjoy the pants tucked into the boots.

Blogger Angeles Almuna said ... (10:28 AM) :

There is a good balance between the bags and the outfit! Great shot

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

He looks like a model from a Bruce Weber photo shoot.....

When does he get down to his boxers???????

Anonymous Isobel Saoirse said ... (10:37 AM) :

Inspiering and amazing!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:39 AM) :

Those bags with his boots are amazing together! I love how the leather on the bags matches the leather of his boots and the laces match the canvas of the bags! Well done :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

Very nice and classic. Sporty and modern. Boots and bags for kissing!

Blogger M.J.Woodbridge said ... (10:42 AM) :

layers layers layers!
how i wish it was winter here! bags are sick!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:47 AM) :

He looks like a "parachutist " !!.Doesn´t he ??

Anonymous Alice said ... (10:57 AM) :

Love the bags and the shoes. I am woman but I would go for them as well!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:03 AM) :

He looks like an ad for Filson Bags and Engineered Garments. As someone else suggested, I think this is a case of a look wearing a guy, and not a guy wearing a style and much less having his own. That said I like the bags ( I own a couple of Filson bags myself) and a few of the items he is wearing, just wish he would have put them together in a more idiosyncratic, original, and less obvious way.

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (11:03 AM) :

Wow, I love the whole outfit. He looks like a model. The bags, the shoes, the top layers, and coat. Amazing photo of him. xoxo

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:08 AM) :

I don't comment much. But this picture is amazing. The style is exactly what I love. The heritage clothing, Filson etc. is so beautiful. More about utility than fashion.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 AM) :

Oh man, best winter look I've ever seen. I'm def. taking inspiration from this for the rest of the cold months left :/

Anonymous xris said ... (11:15 AM) :

Is this irony? Trying to look like a lumber jack, but hands as soft as a baby's tush? C'mon.

What's up with the "I am a workman" going to fashion shows?

Can we be authentic?

Blogger Elaine said ... (11:33 AM) :

I love the boots look on men! And I really like his backpack.......

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:59 AM) :

I'm all aboout the bags!

Blogger jackie said ... (12:04 PM) :

I love the Filson bags as much as anyone. The beef I have with them is that they are weighty on their own, that is, empty. Filling them up makes them awkward and too much of a strain on joints...but they are lovely!
The boots rock! Love the rugged masculinity, too. Lets the mind wander into realms of chisled, work hard flesh...

Blogger what dia like said ... (12:05 PM) :

the bags are great:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:07 PM) :

Men of Pitti Uomo love layers. I think this guys style is Hot. The bags sure does balance everything out.

Blogger chiggafied said ... (12:11 PM) :

That's definitely a Filson on his left hand, and those boots uncannily resemble Red Wings.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:16 PM) :

Filson goes Urban !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 PM) :

Are they Red Wings? The toe looks too round to be red wing. Anyone??

Blogger Vinda Sonata said ... (12:22 PM) :

his look is quite ordinary, but i really love the overall outfit combination. nice classic bag too!

Blogger SnapandPrint said ... (12:31 PM) :

The sweater, the boots, and the bags....all great together.

Blogger Alexandra said ... (12:32 PM) :

jesus, its all in the eyes.. he is stunning!!! the outfit is great too, which helps, but this guy... ohlala

Blogger JouJou Loves You said ... (12:35 PM) :

I didn't even notice what he was wearing. With features like that, he could wear a trash bag and look stunning.

Some people just have 'it'....and he has def. got IT. The hairline, the nose, the lips. Gorgeous.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:47 PM) :

so much patterns and textures. lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:06 PM) :

super duper freshhhhh!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 PM) :

The only thing he needs in SNOW!!!

Blogger Sniurk said ... (1:30 PM) :

vraiment frais le look :)

Anonymous Jimbob said ... (1:37 PM) :

Filson Rucksack!!!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:41 PM) :

Sorry, but I think he's trying waaay too hard with the current American Heritage craze. Each piece, on its own, is authentic. Put (so labouringly) together turns them most decidedly "in-".

Blogger Gon said ... (1:45 PM) :

Cool! This guy has style! Loving the backpacks lol

Blogger Carlos Alberto Silva said ... (2:21 PM) :

I love the textures, he looks very British.. humm.. after-Burberry-runway-show?

Blogger iida said ... (2:28 PM) :

The shoes and the bags! Oh!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

Wow--guess we're into utility wear. This is a cliche.

Rugged Freshness.

Blogger April Joy said ... (3:58 PM) :

The Boots!

Blogger Daniel said ... (3:58 PM) :

They're Red Wing Boots. Here's a link to them:

Really, I can't say this is that amazing. He's just a dude who has money and buys good labels, but there's not unique style. The only mildly interesting thing here is the sweater, but really, any guy with a shaved head and good physique could pull this off.

Blogger Tea with Edith said ... (3:59 PM) :

His bags are great.

Blogger Engels=English said ... (4:00 PM) :

Hello Yummy!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:04 PM) :

I just got myself extra long laces for my red wing boots to update them for "pants in boots style". It works.
This guy looks like he`d walk long distances. - I believe it and like it.

Blogger Cassaundra said ... (4:08 PM) :

wow! perfect..

those yellow bags are fantastic!

I wanna go with him.

Blogger 14 oz. said ... (5:42 PM) :

Shoes: Yuketen

by the way: it is Freezing cold in berlin, thought Firenze would be the same, that's why I'm wearing this stuff ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 PM) :

Everything is good enough to add pop to outfits, but all of this together at once is a misguided attempt at being on trend.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:49 PM) :

Other than the bags, and perhaps the boots, everything else about this screams of a guy trying too hard. The pants tucked into the boots combined with a parka that only fits because of the mountains of layers under it makes for a very messy look. He looks like a pile of laundry.

Blogger mjd said ... (5:51 PM) :

Blogger Kirsten Leah said ... (5:53 PM) :

This is awesome. I'm just getting started with photography, but I love your work.

Anonymous Beck said ... (8:00 PM) :

No! this is a truly horrible ensemble. Not one redeeming feature.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 AM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:48 AM) :

Fantastic sweater! I love the volume on the neckline (unless that's a neatly-tucked scarf). Overall the look is crisp and frosty - j'adore!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 AM) :

Looks effortlessly stylish, and he is sexiiii

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:07 AM) :

The Filson looks to new, takes at least 20 years to give them the right finish....

Blogger Geraldine Ryan said ... (5:18 AM) :

I've never seen a Nog sweater worn with such elan. Chanelling Rudolf Nuryev with the cheekbones and the cruel nonchalance.

What's he got in his luggage? More woolly sweaters?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:14 AM) :

I really like this kind of boot. Can anyone tell me if the shoe laces are of any special kind? If there's somewhere I can get hold of durable shoelaces with a color like in some of the Redwing or the Yukatan boots?

Also could anyone give some advice about how to judge leather quality in boots?

Awesome picture anyhow, and interesting discussion in the comments, especially fun to check out the sites of the various makers of the apparel, so it doesn't end with just a nice picture, you stick your nose in things you didn't know you'd find out about :)

Blogger David MIchael Dandy Mawdsley said ... (10:38 AM) :

he's wearing my boots!

Blogger Brummagem Joe said ... (11:15 AM) :

Great for running around the hills of Albania.....downtown Milano.....naahh.....some nice individual items but sometimes appropriateness is relevant.

Blogger Melmo Momoko said ... (12:04 PM) :

well i love the way he wears this sweater. the boots are awesome and the bags as well. but please don't wear the bonnet like this ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 PM) :

The sweater? Wood Wood? Anyone?

Blogger Lemon for breakfast said ... (3:09 PM) :

Anonymous Zenas313 said ... (5:19 PM) :

Funny - I am sitting here in the cold, snowy midwest (actually its raining right now), hoping to see more lovely photos from Rio or Melbourne, and instead here's a guy in a parka (I have a blue one like that) wearing a pair of boots (Red Wings or Irish Setters) that were made at a factory no more than 50 miles from here, in Red Wing, MN.

Please Sart, may we have more from Rio?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

The shoe laces make the whole outfit for me, strangely enough

Blogger Eva / Sycamore Street Press said ... (9:23 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

Rock on, dude! Not sure where all the negative comments come from, but if I saw him on a street I'd think he's total hotness. Doesn't look like he's trying too hard to me either.

Blogger Delphine Clemmons said ... (12:06 AM) :

Anonymous AnonymousJK said ... (12:21 PM) :

I guess Filson bags are not just for fishing and hunting anymore ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 PM) :

i love this whole look, and the bit of blue poking out at the top, it goes well with the rest of the layers. Also, his shoes are just right.

Anonymous n.m. said ... (6:09 PM) :

ha ha this is the first time I've seen the subject of the picture answer back.BRAVO People- remember this is not a posed ad! this guy woke up and got dressed, then was photographed unexpectedly!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:15 PM) :

The goods are probably winter best but the look isnt. Everything seems brand new and he seems to be trying a bit too hard.

The outfit will definitely look 10x better if he had just returned from a week long camp.

Blogger Flores said ... (11:36 PM) :

Ugh. Another overwrought example of the faux Americana working-man style. If you are wealthy enough to sport two Filson bags a Nigel Cabourn sweater and a pair of Red Wings then you aren't fooling anyone. Real American working men shop at Wal-mart (or Target if they get nice bonus). I can't wait for the economy to get better so these fops will go back to dressing in Zegna suits and stop pretending they ever did an honest days work.

Blogger W said ... (11:56 PM) :

this is really unique, i love it! x

Blogger sarawithoutanh said ... (10:39 PM) :

This could pass for a J.crew cover. Looks good, but nothing special.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:47 PM) :

Filson has historically been authentic, but don't you worry. Management is in the process of gutting and bleeding the company as we speak. Making the goods in China is so much cheaper and they'll look just as good (in photos).

Anonymous Christine said ... (5:10 AM) :

Love his eyes, he has a great face! The bags are cool!

Anonymous Alex said ... (8:31 PM) :

OK except the sweater the rest is perfect.
