Comments on "On the Street....The Young Stockbroker, Sydney"
Stockbrokers in Sydney > Stockbrokers in NYC.
I love the high waist on the skirt! The ruffled top goes great with it too. Gorgeous!
Oh wow, totally not what I was expecting from the title! I love it when non-fashion industry people look amazing.
I love what she is wearing.
stylish and work-appropriate, simply beautiful :)

Beautiful lines on that skirt. Love the cuff at the elbow, too. "Course, the look in her eyes speaks volumes.
She isso elegant!

Beautiful face!
Very classy!
like the jewelry and face, nice. pulls of the high skirt quite well!
Pushing up the bracelet stops it from moving all over her arm. It shows she doesn't let fashion distract her or impede her movements. She seems to live in her clean, sophisticated style.
your tweet said "young stockbroker"... i didn't expect her to be so hot!
Love the bangle on her forearm, it's something very unexpected for a stockbroker. Love it
This is fantastic. She wears the quintessential high-waisted skirt, perfectly mixing professional and stylish.
AMAZING!! very very pretty..
xoxo

Normally I hate it when women where high wastes, except for certain empire waste dresses. But this looks really nice. And let's not forget that she is a total babe.
OOOH! I absolutelly LOVE HER! It's far mostly the best look I've seen on Sartorialist. yes, for me it is, as it's so elegant and feminine and yet comfortable, suitable for every-day life and rush.
I would never get any work done, if I worked with a woman this beautiful. Wow!
Gorgeous,outstanding....
it seems the same girl of the previous post.
at home/at work.
Does the blouse have sheer sleeves? Wonderful. I love her earrings as well. Anyone can wear a high-waisted skirt with the neutral black and grey combination, but the little details (and her beauty of course!) really make this look like something special.
I love her style but I don´t like her shoes...
Love the whole ensemble. Wish I could see the bag-- it looks like one being given away at http://bit.ly/plazatooGiveaway
So stylish!
Do you know how hard it is these days to find a skirt this length, JUST above the knees--when it clearly is so flattering & sensational, why don't more designers do this instead of the mini--sooooo much more easy going, professional and classy.
I love it when people individualize a corporate/work look. She is doing that so well! Great pic.
XO Piper
nice, unfortunately the shoes are worn-out...
Very elegant ! :D
www.dimogonda.blogspot.com
How clever to capture the typical city working girl. I was going to say perfect, but all Aussie business people are just that. She has a look of absolute comfort that wold not change were she on the trading floor, shopping at lunch time, in a bar after work or standing in a crowded commuter train on the way home. Just brilliant.
Not the best shoes (yoou know that feeling when you think "damn it, I should've worn that other pair". Bet that's what she thinks now). The rest is nice; very standard, almost dated, actually.
Energie
good looking, well dressed and smart. Looks like she has it all

I love where she put her bracelet. Sign me up!
This is beautiful and not too contrived.
love love the monochromatic hues and her expression! this is such a modern twist on corporate dressing - i mostly like the proportion of the silhouette, perfect skirt length!
xx
The accessories give the 'corporate' look a touch of bohemia...gorgeous!
Such a classic look for work.
The Heartbreak
Beautiful!

Would be interesting to see how she walks..
I usually am a silent admirer of all of the photographs on this site, but I couldn't help but comment after seeing this.
She is absolutely gorgeous, and her outfit just oozes class, style and grace. Love it xx
nyctidbits.blogspot.com
what a fantastic shot. pretty simple. pretty amazing. pretty girl.
incredible! I love that she still shows her great style working in a "man's world." this goes straight to my lawyer outfit file...
She could give a tip or two to my broker, and I'm not talking stock tips. -Aaron
love her shirt, so romantic!
I do not agree with the previous shoe comment. To me it's the shoes that make the look so interesting and 'hers' - a mixture of 80s, 40s and naughties and perfectly her own.
She looks fabulous, sweet, kind, serious and intelligent - ALL at one, not many know the trick!
But the shoes are unforgivable, they drag down the entire outfit :(
If i had seen the picture, cut of under her knees, i would have been desperate to see what kind of shoes she would match this beautiful outfit with - now, im just dissapointed.
Love it!
oh god. i think i just feel in love. she is stunning
Love it. The kind of look I see all of the time in midtown,NYC (during the summer, of course).
So Beautiful...WOW...please visit the US...lol

lovely outfit, perfectly balanced colors.
wow fabulous outfit. Cutest stockbroker I've ever seen!
I totally love this look. Definitely something I would wear! xoxo
www.FashionSnag.com
nicely done, but working in CBD Melbourne, its something one sees often.
the armlet and earrings add the difference. nicely done
nice, but i don't like the shoes. i'm a bit tired of sharp edges, maybe.
She's very beautiful and stylish, une vraie femme d'affaires!
www.sweetandtenderfashionista.blogspot.com
is she the same person as in the previous post?
Just stunning. Gorgeous skirt and works so well with the blouse.
Gorgeous! I have a Iittala giveaway in my blog, please come check it out!

Working the corporate chic!
i think the court shoes complement her corporate attire.
modern 'Working Girl'....love the high waist skirt which is balanced with the upper volume of the shirt.. very beautiful silhouette

How did you get the light so perfect in the photograph? You can clearly see the details in the black shirt. Nice!
I can't find one thing wrong with this outfit. It's the perfect balance of sexy and professional. I love the details on the shirt and the high-waisted skirt. Great combo.
Everything great - except the shoes...
http://fan.StreetstyleNews.com
Perfect.
On second guess, she might want to get new shoes. But hey, if they are comfortable I totally can relate to her.
Pretty pedestrian - everyone wears this to work! You'd see much more interesting corporate looks just one block east in Martin Pl.
Oh my. She is breathtaking.
Totally was expecting some guy in a suit, love that she isn't so conservative and she kills it in that high waisted skirt!
This is certainly the best broker ever: I just love her outfit. Especially the high-waist skirt.
http://letsgrowuplater.blogspot.com/
She looks adorable.
I was recently in Sydney and noticed many women in high waisted pencil skirs and chic blouses. She seems very representative of the young, working woman in the city. What I also noticed, is that no matter the size of the woman, most of them had well fitting clothes. It was very refreshing.
Love the blouse!
www.cardigansandcouture.blogspot.com
Stunning woman!
I am really surprised this outfit is getting so much positive feedback! Obviously she is a gorgeous girl, but the outfit is pretty standard ( / sort of dated) for professional young woman in Australia, particularly as the weather warms up. (I should know, I am one!)
Pretty girl. She certainly deserves an A for effort.
Awesome style, Awesome girl, I can´t ask for more!
I'm a little bit confused by this outfit and the comments. Everyone seems to think she is wearing a high-waisted skirt. I think she's wearing a sheath dress, but I can't see how she has the blouse tucked or attached or tied overtop. She looks good but I think largely because of the earrings (lovely!) and bracelet and because she is a pretty woman. Not sure the outfit would show as well in person as in the photo. (And definitely some prettier heels would bump this up a notch.)
that probably looked a lot better before she sat down.
Head to toe perfection.
Beeyootiful.
Lovely and classic, but modern.
~*~
Simple and appropriate, great!
LOVE this look!
get that girl some new shoes PRONTO!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!
Oh, she is gorgeous. Love her outfit from head to toe. Anyone who doesn't think intellectual is sexy should look at this photo.
This is lovely!
Wow
she is so incredibly beautiful. i only wish she wasn't wearing pointy shoes!
Beautiful, classy, sexy!
she looks very young for such as strict look,
I think this look ages her probably 5 to 10 years.Pretty woman, but the hairstyle can be a a bit more young.
Wonderful outfit that fits her shape nicely. The shoes are atrocious, however.
i think this outfit is fantastic. when i think of women's dress suits or even professional clothing, i am filled with dread. most have a boxy nature that i would reject. i am a woman and i want to feel like a woman even if i am in a man's world.
it hits every note: feminine, comfortable yet professional. as for the talk of her shoes: do we all have to look perfect. this outfit is great and as someone said earlier -what if they are her favorite pair of work heels. shoes are sometimes discontinued...
She looks very Lanvin, doesn't she? Nice shoot
The Bible of fashion,

Wonderful look - like lots of girls I see in Adelaide! Professional and sleek with a twist. Slightly let down by the shoes though, they look a bit dated and don't match the outfit. Love the soft hair.
Wow! What a gorgeous, sophisticated and well put together stock broker! Great shot
Yes, the shoes are a tad bit boring. Though she looks like an Australian Audrey Tatou. Cute as a shiny French button.
tuckerblissphotography.blogspot.com
aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi
Corporate queen:). She looks beautiful! Grey teemed with black works well on her. I prefer it with white.
she is great!
She is wearing CUE!!!
Love this classic work look! It's not boring too!
http://mushitushi.blogspot.com
Where are her clothes/accessories from? Could you post a description?
Ohhhhh....*divine*.
Simple, classy outfit. I like it. Especially her choice of unusual jewelry to go with it. Now, if only some genius would invent a fabric that doesn't get sitting down creases in front...
is that an Hermes enamel bangle? (one of the wide ones) I have the pink and gold, and I think they made a black and gold as well.
The gold of the earrings and bangle with the grey and black work well, and are more of a surprise than silver.
I have my doubts about the shoes as well!
Burn those shoes darling!
Let's hear it for high-waisted skirts!
oo. dress for success! ;)
she looks very beautiful, smart, and sexy!
I love the shoes. Simple, classic and understated sexy (no open toes at work, please!) I wouldn't want flashy shoes to detract from her face, outfit and legs - especially when this is a work outfit. Change to more flashy shoes for drinks and dinner after work.

I really like this article and enjoyed reading. Nice article, love the post.
Such a great look!
http://lite-damage.blogspot.com/
Wow... this is (knees up) perfect.... the hair the make up the eyes.... the high waist skirt is just amazing... feminine.... the ruffles adds something bold yet not so different the lace around the neck is a plus..... her semblant is great too.... but...those shoes..... they are kinda worned out...pointy shoes on women are so dated... something higher... with a square tip.. a thick heel.... would be perfect for this outfit.. she is still gorgeous....
What a stockbroker:-) Very edgy for such one, considering the cliche about their dressing and all.
Love the outfit!
And oh hi and wow, we officially have perfection.
Beautiful, but very skinny..
Such a smart looking lady.
Amazing !
Magnificent.
ah so this is how aussie women in finance dress. very sophisticated.
She can broke my stocks anytime! Wowwhoa!
she is a babe!
Gorgeous girl. Are you SURE she's a stockbroker?
dear S. please tell me where I can by her shares? ineida.
i think her outfit is nothing too special, it is what you see alot of in cbd melbourne, sure the bangle and earing add a little something extra and it is a well fitted outfit but i dont think the clothes themselves are amazing. but i dont think The Sartorialist is about clothes, it is about style, and she has plenty of that. it is the air of grace she has and the way her hair is so perfectly imperfect. you can not buy style.
NOt really cool heels
Maybe it's because I'm Australian, but this outfit is no standout. At all. It's extremely common, you see about a hundred girls dressed like this in the city each working day.
She looks lovely.
http://london-copenhagen.blogspot.com/
Gorgeous - love the way she wears jewelry. And such lovely hair!
very beautiful, she wears the rights shoes and bijoux. And the right blouse with that kind ok skirt. Well done!! :-)
Elegant, beautiful work dress. If only the skirt doesn't crease that much! But the way she wears the bracelet is absolutely gorgeous...
this is what every working girl looks like in sydney. sorry, no thanks.
She's beautiful and you are fantastic.
She is beautiful. Classic, with style and light radiates this so nice face.
xoxo
great shoes and look. Love the practical, elegant and modern style
I too think it's a very typical look for Sydney and therefore ho-hum. What brings her up a notch is a very pretty face, framed by soft hair and lovely earrings. I think too, that you can tell a lot about a woman by her shoes...and in this case her bracelet and those 2 little rings on her fingers.
nice :-)
perfect inspiration for business outfit which is still fashionable
So elegant!
xoxo
What a great representative for Sydney!
It's official, Sydney has got the hottest stockbrokers!
I have often seen Sydneysiders in sun dresses and the like at the office, and somehow it just works. They're able to bring the big city and beach vibe together in a really modern way. I love how she looks like she works for a fashion magazine. Just because she's a stockbroker doesn't mean she can't have STYLE.
Actually quite surprised to see this posted.
She is very pretty and looks nice, but nothing fashion-forward or partcularly interesting about the look. There are hundreds of girls like this in the Sydney CBD daily (which I guess is a compliment to Sydney generally...)
she's perfect
If I say this is full of curves, it sounds voluptuous which this is not. The straight seam down the thigh and the horizontal of the hem are contrasted to the curves of her hip, leg, waistband, sleeves, cheekbones, earrings, hair and even the way the shoe wraps her foot. I need to get back to work.
Gorgeous face.
Love the outfit, just perfect.
very nice
Hello, she es beautifull like spanish girld with her earrings...
wow wow wow love it....
PRETTY Stockbroker,she has something sexy.
wow! so stylish! :D It's hard to give this kind of skirts that young halo.
I loove the shirt!
A RIDONCULOUSLY GREAT SHOT - the whole outfit is super good.
She is gorgeous....Hotest broker ever !
http://www.high-toned.fr/
A kind of look that I could wear in a dress code event. Beautiful, classic and elegant no matter where or when. Pretty face too.

Your blog is like sex. The less I look at it, the more I wanted.
Kiss from Riga.
a.h.
bummer about the shoes...make her feet look old...otherwise very pretty...I also think, as mentioned before, that this might be a sheath dress?
Although the clothes vary, these beautiful Australian girls all look like same person, or sisters.
Beautiful...love the high waisted skirt. She is gorgeous!
cute girl, but she has bad posture and her skirt and shoes look cheap..
I love the Aussie's. Great people and well, great style!
i cant understand the fuss here. the girl is gorgeous, the outfit is 'meh' and the shoes are heinous.
oh God! She's so lovely)) Miss Sydney so much(((
Gorgeous and classic; she wears the high waist well.
I'm in love!
Her outfit really works for me. I love the colour combination here: very professional, and understated. Viewers are drawn to her beautiful face, eyes, chestnut hair (the colour of fine whiskey), earrings, and bangle.
I work in the same industry, and I can tell you that she looks better than 99% of the stockbrokers in my office.
gorgeous girl and nice outfit, but it's too cookie cutter. there's nothing shocking in how she's dressed. ideally, professional women would dress like her and look like her. i don't know why this is on here. this is entirely expected and predictable. i thought this blog's for unexpected, extraordinary things.
an attractive stockbroker who dresses well is nothing mind-blowing. she's not breaking any fashion barriers.
Im in love!!
Could easily be a model. Love the earrings most.
Like a few others have, I've noticed a remarkable similarity to the girl in the prior photo and can't get passed the thought: is she or isn't she (the same woman)??
I love the pussy bow blouse and the puffy short sleeve, and the slightly 'oriental' touch with the earrings and bracelet. The shoes are excellent - she can walk in them, fast paced if necessary, they're elegant while conservative (perfect for her workplace) and have a nice eighties feel to them. If this is her warm weather work attire, I say brava. It can hardly be improved upon.
But Scott tell us please: is she or isn't she?
interesting.......
Perfect. I'm moving to Australia.
Very beautifull! but I didn't like the shoes...
How can she look so flawless and work such a stressful job as a stockbroker? It is a phenomenon! The outfit seems uncomfortable for a sit-all-day job. This slim fit doesn't leave room for constant snacks in the office, either. I applaud her for being amazing!
same gal from the cafe with the beach-y wallpaper from a while back, eh?
wonderfully put together.
Natasha said it!
Beautiful, classy, sexy!
I love it when your posts are of people whose style is attainable. This look is clean, fresh and ageless. Any woman could achieve this look and take it extremely high to very low end! Options, we love options!
so classy! inspires me as a future accountant on bay street (canada's wall street.)
more like the sexy stockbroker...
love the highwasted skirt with the lightness of the blouse.
http://kimricosays.blogspot.com/
Very nice. She has a clean, polished no fuss look for a sunny day. She looks "smartly" dressed. Hair has flair but not in face. Earrings are sexy without interfering. High waist skirt accentuates the positive. Nicely done.
I must be out of the inner cool group of fashion people but what's wrong with her shoes?? She works in a conservative industry - those seem fine for everyday workwear to me. Is she supposed to be wearing crazy platforms?? I just don't get all the shoe comments.
High waisted pencil skirts with feminine blouses are my go-to "have to look professional" today outfit. Aaaamazing. And I like her shoes, darnit--and I like that they're a bit scuffed. Shows she gets things done instead of sitting around looking pretty.
everything about this outfit is fantastic. she is a class act.
Gorgeous! Love the outfit :))
I should relocate my activities in Sydney... great outfit, great look
This photo shows the clear problem with this type of skirt - you can't sit down at a computer without turning into a wrinkly mess. Even though she looks lovely, it is definitely a more 'real' loveliness than you usually photograph.
it looks....totally mediocre
It helps that she's so pretty because this is a totally standard corporate outfit for sydney and even brisbane. I do like the bangle but the rest is pretty much what you'd see all around you every lunch hour.
She's got me feeling "irrationally exuberant"!
sorry couldn't resist! but seriously, it might not be the most fashion forward ensemble ever, but she has a great style.
All the girls in Sydney dress like this... doesn't seem to me like personal style. Would have preferred an open shoe.
Very pretty girl though.
Haha i know her!!
She looks great!
i;m going to try big earrings more often!
Brilliant!!
Love the contrast between the ruffly top and clean high waisted skirt. Chic!
I don't think those who are confused about this post fully understand the Sart's approach to selecting his subjects...
He's stated many times in interviews that his images aren't there to depict latest trends, or huge fashion statements, or the 'beautiful people', but simply to capture a look that the particular person is doing 'really well'. Outfits or styles that are well put together, whether they're boundary pushing or quietly chic. I love that about this blog.
This partcular image fits in perfectly as it fits the criteria: this young lady is doing the classy-corporate-woman-thing REALLY well. Although, yes, many people pull this look off every day, there are many who do not, and this image can be an inspiration to those who see their corporate position as a style black hole.
An another note, it was a joy to meet you last night at GPO Scott, you are a true gentleman! So friendly and polite, you made waiting in line very worthwhile. I hope you enjoy your time in Melbourne!
SO right ANON from Syd, nice but totally dated for sydney business wear... (could buy this all at Cue and Witners, on the very same street she's on, Pitt st.) YAWN!
But given the no. of positive comments she's got. Maybe things are different OS?!
Love her outfit.
Congrats for your blog!
Best wishes, form Argentina!
I absolutely love this look.
Some might consider it 'dated' but it really can't be dated. There is no time in history where this would look fashionable, polished, and oh so classy.
I adore the outfit as a whole and never think it will go out of style.
The combo of romanticism and classy/business-like make it perfect for every scenario. LoveLoveLove!
IT SEEMS SO! GREAT SHIRT.
XX
CHICMUSE
She's quite a lovely girl and the outfit is nice enough, but it wouldn't stop me on the street- pretty common and I have to agree with previous commenters that it's a bit dated.
She still has my admiration for keeping her feminine side while working in a rather male-dominated industry.
