Comments on "On the Street....Rivington St., NYC"
shoot. nearly perfect.
omfg. how he pulls this off i have no idea. but its perfect on him.
luv the pocket square. all the details are so perfectly nuanced.

That's absolutely elegant.
I am fond of the handkerchief!!
absolutely phenomenal. beautiful, perfect shot.

Numero Uno...
i love it!!!
OH MY GOODNESS! Where was he going? I love it! He is too smooth!
Be still my heart!
This man should make us all feel inadequately dressed. Fantastic.
... Be still my heart!
This man is...wow. Just wow. It looks like he stepped off a film set.
first comment!! he looks amazing :)very well put together!!
WOW. It's been awhile since I've seen street fashion that has made an impression on me. This man looks simply amazing.
What a nice guy !!!! I love the hat!!!
Damn!
My favourite in ages! Great to see a real man not a try hard fashionista!
that briefcase is to die for and i love the red tie on the blue shirt. very parisian.
xoxo,

It's the briefcase that does it for me.
So sophisticated!
Now that is classy.
Now this a look that I'm a fan of... I could do everthing but the hat or could I... hmmm
www.mikeymcfly.com
straight pimpin' ...love it.
Whooar! That is outstandingly well put together 10/10.
PERFECTION. From the colorways to the stance. Particularly love the neckwear.
such a class act
So bloody cool!
Wearing a suit and a fedora together isn't something you see very often, but it is the most masculine combination of all. And he doesn't even look like a gangster.
Wow, breathtakingly amazing!! This is so beautifully structured and blod!
Wow.
This is the second mention of Rivington street I've heard in the last week.
Love his briefcase.
LOVE! This is one I would dog ear, were it in your book (and I've done a lot of that!) The red pop that is almost like a wilted flower. The watch. The brim of the hat. The overall shape of that suit. White collar. Slim shoes. Hard case he's carrying. Everything. Even the bring white/silver(?) buttons!! This man knows what he's doing. And the location of the shot. Wow.
Now this is what cool looks like!
Smashing. Love it.
just amazing. love the red.
Not my style, but he seems sufficiently confident to get away with the bold red ascot and the floppy pocket square. The fedora and the '70s hardside briefcase work for him, too.
Love love love! That hat! Those shoes! That scarf! I can go on!
natty hat, great combo with the red cravat/tie,paisley/polka dot and the the underlying check shirt against a canvas of black. Love the jaunty hat positioning. love the length of the pant and the totally retro briefcase.
loved the fact that I am first most of all.
Peace

What a dandy!
Distinctively a vision of confidence and personal aesthetic
To me this picture is an example of where avant garde just gets to the point of absurd looking. That being said, if that is this gentleman's personal style -- more power to him. Maybe he is evoking the same type of extreme irony that we are used to seeing in 'standard hipster style' but done in a different way.
Very glam!

He looks amazing! You really dont see enough men dressed this well! The hat and breifcase just add an extra exclamation point. Really like the background composition too.
Pearl
Very crisp. Lovely.
your work is amazing. I love all of your pictures!
Visit my blog!
What a joy it would be to walk out of the house wearing this outfit. This man is tick tick TICK on the clock.
Smooth and classy.
Can not not love it!
Cool:)
gorgeous look! thank you!
I'm impressed - he is dapper
my friend he met a snapper,
said "sir, you sure do dress up dapper"
LOVE this look...so classy. And I especially love the red bow tie/sash!
wow, I can't believe this guy is real. He looks amazing!
I like the fact that early XXth scarves are gettting back. This adding so much to the ensemble.
Cool one!
More classic hats on men today, please. More.
Smashing! If I saw him on the street I wouldn't stop staring.
He looks so great and unusual at the same time...like he came out of movie
Hot.
I would love to see more people wearing hats. (Baseball caps don't count!) So hats off to him for that!
The shoes however....are so extra-long in the toe region that they make walking awkward and difficult----think of what it feels and looks like to walk in clown shoes, or flippers both of which have extra length in the front.
These shoes may look sleek in a still shot, but a lot of elegance in real life depends on the graceful movement of the wearer.
that's the dude from before with the deep 30s style waistband isn't it ?
this is what every man should dress like. absolutely love this.
Like The Driver a week ago and The Standard last Wednesday, what really stands out is how he wears it. Confidence from the brim of his hat to the shine of his shoes.
Cool, cooler, coolest!
Your picture is great!!!
If you like the culture, this is the site, www.carnabys.blogspot.com

Wauw! What a beautiful gentleman! He reminds me of my father going to work when I was young. Beautiful.
Can someone scream SWAG X10?
Love his style!!! I love him!!!
sapeurs from brazzaville!!!!
stefano
wow, very debonaire!
This outfit is immaculate!
oh he looks fabulous!
This is Leke, he has such a great style. He is a designer as well http://www.modelmayhem.com/769269
gorgeous man!
www.FashionSnag.com
Really handsome!!!!
man that man looks sharp as shit
how he can dress like this and NOT look like a gangster or a pimp takes skill. the flashy shirt, tie, watch, and pocket square screams PIMP. the dark suit and fedora screams GANGSTER. so i'm thinking it's the briefcase that makes this look work. it legitimises things and brings his look back down to earth.
he wears this as if all men dress like this everyday and it's not out of the ordinary, kind of like the way they did back in the 1930s.
fantastic.
Original. Seductive. Authentic. Amazing.
I love the vintage Samsonite briefcase. Superb!
Perfection! He reminds me of the stylish men in old movies. Great picture!!
NO es un icono de la elegancia, parece mas un ganster.
There is an icon of elegance, seems more a gangster
Hi!!
Mr. COOL!
His attitude totally rocks up his look love it
http://lipstickboudoir.blogspot.com/
x's
Hi!!
i'm drooling.............
Approved
love the briefcase. love the minimalist
Hi, I think his pants are too large for that kind of suit.
@ MaisonChaplin.blogspot.com
This man got my heart.
Really really close to perfection.
That briefcase is really oldschool. Looks like it's from the 80s.
He looks like he just stepped out of a movie! I'll bet he has a million dollars in that briefcase...
i need to be him
The kind of man that every woman would fall for! Confident, stylish, badass, serious. sexy.
so cool!
This man is just...WOW !
gorgeous, perfect, and amazing. be still my heart!
WOW! WOW! WOW! I'm AMAZED!
Holy cow! Do the pedestrians part and the traffic stop as he passes by?? I read the other posts and have no complaints about this being overdone or costume-y. I just think he's the suavest dude. But not approachable, mysterious in his style and elegance.
LOVE!
wonderful! you have style sir!
thanks sarotorialist for these last two snaps (cool man and foxy lady)- joy to look at
I'm going to use that idea of the pop of color on a dark blue suit next time I wear mine
great shoes....and everything else!!
No way!
I mean he's great, but does he really exist?
The shoes are awesome. This is the latest -- the elongated toe.
Who the h. is he? I mean what would he be wearing all that great stuff to?
There is only one thing I don't think comes up to perfection: the briefcase. It looks like it's from the sixties. Maybe that's the idea, but brings this fantasy down to earth.
That said, I'm still in love with this pic. I think it's the juxtaposition with the urban environment that makes his slick perfection so dramatic.
First impression.....007!
Ah! SO. GOOD!
So supple he could break into a Gene Kelly routine...
Very well put together. He has a great confident look.
very nice :)
www.feellikemakinglove.blogspot.com
Absolutely beautiful.
he looks really well put together. I would have liked to see the colorways of the pocket square and cravat change places - to unify the black and white of the suit with the blue patterned shirt.
I'm a little bummed that people say that a black man in a suit with flare needs to be likened to a like a pimp - one who dominates and sells others for his own profit.
SO ELEGANT!
I´ll ask the same thing Joy Mars asked: DOES HE REALLY EXIST!!!!??
Not in my block.
"how he can dress like this and NOT look like a gangster or a pimp takes skill. the flashy shirt, tie, watch, and pocket square screams PIMP. the dark suit and fedora screams GANGSTER. so i'm thinking it's the briefcase that makes this look work. it legitimises things and brings his look back down to earth."
imho, this comment seems racist to me. i find nothing "pimp" or "gangster" about him. my guess is these words would not be used to describe him if he were a white man wearing the same things. the expectation that the only black people that dress well are criminals is simply racist. similar comments by other posters are equally suspect, imho. [fyi and full disclosure: i'm white.]
that said, my first impression was that this guy was rocking a great look. on closer inspection, i think his jacket sleeves are too short, as are his shirt sleeves, but that overall, the man is a total fashion stud.
Saw him in soho on Friday and thought he would be a perfect muse-I guess you were thinking the same thing. BTW-he was even more impressive in person.
I love this man.
Great picture! Like taken out from a movie :-)
Love the mix with the shirt and scarves!
http://www.lifebychristian.com/
Mhhhh... Al very good.... But why that old bag...
sexy mac!
"Bond, James Bond..."
this outfit is a work of art! the red tie embellishment...scrumptious!
the contemporary ingenue
both the man and the photo are so beautiful. and so new york. love it.
Unreal!!!
Seventies style briefcase ruined the perfect dandy look. But I like him anyway: his pants have proper lenght instead of being too short.
Wooow! He looks great!
thesingular.blogspot.com
His name is Mr. Leke. One of Brooklyn's Finest. He could be going to a business meeting or just to the corner of South Portland and Fulton St. in Fort Greene. Mr. Leke is never unsure, he is always dress proper.
Who is he? WOW
Perfection in every little detail.
he is absolutely suave, a true daddy (as we say in philly)
A'ight pimp daddy smooth!
It should be impossible to pull this off, but somehow he does! I think it's the mojo in his smirk that makes it all work - plus that briefcase brings it back down to reality.
Man - what a smooth cat.
Maybe a little too costume-like. I like the fit of the suit; it seems timeless (although everything in fashion is dateable-sometimes that's okay). I'm not a fan of fancy men and he is a bit too fancy for my taste.
Wow! Talk about suave... I absolutely love the hat! :)
The hat needs to be used as a Frisbee. And that red cravat is just too 19th century. Other than that well done.
Pietro
YUM....you have to find his twin in Paris! they would make excellent bookends!
He is the ultimate~! The ideal~!
if only i'd taken off work today...you were a block away from my apartment.
what a fantastic ensemble.
I'd love to see the contents of his wardrobe!
Marry me!
I like the main pieces, from the old Samsonite attache to the hat. However, the pointy shoes look both feminine and clownish; I cannot believe that is his real size. Also, the neck ribbons combine with the pointy shoes to take this very macho outfit and turn it far too feminine.
That man is just fantastic!
Wow! Imagine how intimidating he would be in a business meeting! love!
Makes me want to know more about him..who is he? What does he do? I like..
http://loveyourfabulousself.blogspot.com/
Fabulous! and I love it that he doesn't have a dead fox around his neck.
Every time I see a guy dressed like this, I want to throw him into a wood chipper.
This look seems overly contrived, and it is not masculine.
This is just overly foppish.
Wow. Just wow. Speechless. J'adore completely.
The very definition of dapper!
Slick and cool. Nice pic.
Spectacular. The clothing is styled to perfection but it's the artful attitude of his stance that sends me swooning.
It reminds me of the lines a classical dancer from the Erte era would strike.
Pure art.
Now THAT'S dramatic!
If one is to wear a black suit - this is definitely one way to do it with style!

Good lord! I think I still have my first attache case; hard-sided just like that the one in the photo. I'd never carry mine again, but it's the blending of the modern with the old that makes the arresting style of that whole outfit.
I LOVE THE SUIT. BUT I DNT KNOW WHY HIS WEARING THE HAT?
He looks so manly and refined! And I think that the shoes are just as perfect as the rest of his outfit.
Sick. Now that's a hat.
Scott, it's your call but I feel this must be stated.
I'm beginning to think that all the Anonymous comments are from the same person who has not really commented upon any merits displayed by the clothes but rather about an infatuation for the person.
"Marry me"? LOL
"The kind of man that every woman would fall for!"? How can you make such a generalisation about every woman?
I find all this very disturbing.
Pietro
Darn tootin' Mr Leke is never unsure, Brian C. Knight. Hot damn.
Wow! The juxtaposition of the red tie, polka dot handkerchief and gingham shirt reminds me of Christian Lacroix's color clashes.
Wow, amazing suit.
caught my breath...
He. Is. Stunning.
Have Mercy!
Felicia, This Time in Seoul
FYI I finally found out this awesome guy's name: Adeleke Sijuwade I think that the folks photoed deserve a bit more credit - like a name at least.
He is a model, he dresses like this all the time:
http://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=4884d9edb03a8&date=2008-07-21%2014:48:15&id=769269&pid=7642342&the_count=0&group_id=&ua=
That's one cool cat.
While he looks cool, it looks like he totally tried. also, the sleeves are short.
wow, smooth and suave!!!!
no need to ask - he's a smooth operator.
;-)
Splendid, magnificent, a perfect specimen. When martians descend, he's the one they're taking to their leader.
This is incredible. I'm not familiar with NYC or where/what part of town this is but... he could fit in just about anywhere. I love his character and the 47 different lifestyles he may have.
I want to work where he works! His air of confidence is probably the most attractive thing about this look.
Lea
OMG!! wish I could see someone like him in Barcelona (Spain) streets :))
I'm in love of the whole him and outfit!!! <3 <3
bellaymalvada.blogspot.com
whoa nice!
I love it, but the pants should have been just a little slimmer.
dapper - personified
I bet when he opens that attache case it throws a glowing light on his face just like the one belonging to Marcellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction.
i love how the red tie stands out from his perfect, sleek black suit :) good job. and the suitcase gives him a bolder, more durable look.
look's like he's up to something chicccc
looks like 50 cent got slimmer, borrowed a shirt and something that looks like a melted bow-tie from kanye west, and followed the recommendation from fantasticman.com to get that old briefcase.
Wow. Very sexy and confident.
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
"overly contrived"
Dude means business
www.openzedoor.blogspot.com
I was very taken by this look, great shot. The accessories make this suit look amazing: the hat; the powerful red tie; the square; the watch; and even that briefcase. Let us not forget the confidence on this guy's face. Wow.
WHAT A GREAT LOOK. PROUD HE CAN WEAR IT SO PERFECT. LOVE IT!
CHICMUSE

WE LOVE YOUR JOB AND YOUR BLOG
TAKE PICS IN MY COUTRY !!!!
KS FROM SÃO PAULO !!!
love the black suit and black cap against the black skin. also approve of the classic-looking slim briefcase.
the overall look would be far more impressive if the pants were skinnier though. the flared/boot opening looks... childish or something.
I want to meet that man! Impeccable, absolutely impeccable.
He looks like a character from an old movie. What incredible style and charisma.
Cool, love it.
Good lord...what a beautiful man! Rock that hat, buddy...own it...OWN IT!
Wow. that is all.
uuuuuuuuuuuum. So good.
DONT TRY TO CROSS HIM, HE'S SUPER SLICK, HE'S THE DUDE. LADIES CALL HIM THE CANDY RAPPER!
so, so good.
oh yeah Daddy! I would sign a deal or do business with him today!
dress for that you WANT!
The stance, the position of his hat, the impeccable suit, the flounce of red...I bet he had success in whatever he was headed to.
"Anonymous said...
DONT TRY TO CROSS HIM, HE'S SUPER SLICK, HE'S THE DUDE. LADIES CALL HIM THE CANDY RAPPER!"
I nearly coughed up a lung laughing at your comment. Do me the sacrosanct favour and warn people before bursting out with something like that again.
Pietro
THIS IS TERRIFIC!!!
LOVE HIM!
S
amazing. plain and simple
He is perfect.
Phenomenal.
marry me
This man is beautiful and formal. (There is a hint here of some historical period which I cannot put my finger on. But I have seen it in paintings somewhere.)
There is no irony here. I find that black men dress up without the self-consciousness that has to use irony as a defense.
The comments on this blog that have used the word "pimpin" are patronizing and insulting. But it's just part of depraved pop culture now, I guess.
SUPER COOL
Dazzling! I wish more men would dress like this and "own it!"
wow, this man looks wonderful.
