Both of them would look perfect in the same outfits, same place today. Love your vintage photo posts.

So cool, I love old photographs.
I love how fashion was more 'accessible' back in those days, people in general made much more effort…
They look great. Love the background activity and colour.

People used to move differently. They wouldn't sit in the same pose today.
Great place, great years, I wish to live there and then ;)
Beautiful picture... Her sunglasses are soooo nice. And I miss those chairs on the beach!!
Xxx from Formentera!! :D
Chic espadrilles !!!

The car in the background is a 1955-58 Simca 90A Aronde. This was the first car owned in 1965. I recognized it immediately.
'member your denim on denim post? Looks like dude here was doin' it way back when.
They look so neat and well-kept...nice.
so retro <3
Fantastic photo, it's very colourful! :)

I wonder if this photo was tinted in some way. That would explain why the woman's shoes match the umbrellas so perfectly. Also most of the tones are in orange and blue. The man is wearing blue clothes and some people in the mid-ground are wearing the same blue. Yes you certainly can see Lanvin and the Carlton Hotel.
Cool Pic! They look like they were wearing TOMS shoes. Love it!
those look like early toms.
i love how the guy is wearing identical shoes!
Simpler times... Classic looks. I love style from that time; the scallops on the umbrella, the simple chairs, the fashion, the cars...
Can't find that type of umbrellas anymore... nowadays it's all cheap and plastic...
Everything is well combined!!! So orange...the shoes, the umbrellas, and the sun!
I love the perspective of the photo...
Regards from Barcelona.
The color palette is gorgeous, what year was this? I used these same colors in a previous post of mine....I absolutely love this color combination! Great picture!

Those were the days of everyday elegance, how one represented themselves was so important! None of this excuse making for showing up without consideration to what one has worn :)

Such style and colour!

LOVE her pose and the color blocking! Goes to show that everything new is really something old and long forgotten.
I love the colours! And her shoes.
Great South of France vibe
Zippy complementary colors.
Knock out Japanese NEAR/FAR composition w. perspective.
Lots to love here!
i sincerely wish people paid the same attention to their foundation garments today as they did in the golden age of frederick's of hollywood.
i need to find, that kind of bra again :D

love, oh love..
Wow, fashion really did come full circle, especially those shoes. Lovely shot
Wonderful!!!!!!!!!
This is actually my friend's parents (the last time I saw them they were similarly elegant, poised, and well dressed well into their seventies?)...posted by his amazing wife; I emailed her immediately to ask if I could paint this photograph. I will send a photo when its finished!! It has beautiful perspective, with the complimentary blue and orange hues. Oh my, so excited.
Great pic and it's Cannes alright, I know the place well. At the far end right of the pic you can see two sort of black towers.
That's the Carlton Hotel :

Cheers ;)
Definitely Cote d'Azur. That's Cannes, isn't it?!
They look square but still very "modern". Things were more layered and repressed back then and it gave people more radiant energy and style. They couldn't/didn't just let it all hang out. She knows how hot she is and her leg positioning is classic pinup. I like how his espadrilles coordinate with his trousers and shirt. ;-)
