Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

who is the giggly guy besides him?
and what is the name of this kind of collar?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

I'm liking the club collar shirt in all three photos. I'm not sure I could pull the rest of this look off, though. The "highwaters" and the shorts with the black oxfords -- that's just crazy!!

Having said all of that -- seems like a really cool guy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:51 PM) :

Why are there never any pictures of women over 40 on your blog, i do love what you do but half the world seems to be missing no?

Blogger TheMen'sSide said ... (4:52 PM) :

So nice :)

i love the picture!!! super cute. yuri.from MEXICO

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:34 PM) :

Ha! "Take Ivy" in full effect!

It's not so much the prep style that is so great(although it is!), but rather the full expression of it through a simplified approach.

@ Anonymous - There are plenty of women over 50 on the blog. You'd do well(and have fun) to browse the archives!

Yay Sart - I love the amazing variety that you capture and share on your blog!

Anonymous rb said ... (5:34 PM) :

love how his tie follows his shirt into the pants :) Personal and intresting touch.

I am a huge fan of this look! So well tailored yet edgy.

Anonymous Paul (UK) said ... (5:42 PM) :

Old school class and straight from Take Ivy - you can't keep a great look down! Love the look, the cardigan and loafers especially. I've been looking for a pair of shorts like these for ages in the UK..can I find them? No! Still searching...
Great pic Scott.

Is there somewhere you answer the questions on your blog? Yes, I too want to know who this man is. He is incredibly dashing and I admire his confidence. If a man wore trousers that short around here everyone would just think he doesn't know anything about fashion!

Blogger ChalcedonyofSF said ... (8:48 PM) :

I love his hair and that age does not have any limits on how you feel about your attire.

He is attractive - one senses clarity about his weight in life, he recycles/mixes his clothing well and there is an innate sense of depth about how he carries himself - always an exciting thing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:47 PM) :

In this writers humble opinion...

Photo #'s 1&3: Little Schoolboy "chic" just isn't.

Photo #2: No, please stop, do not be a fashion/style lemming. Embrace the PROPER pant length for an adult!

Blogger Chalicechick said ... (10:10 PM) :

I can't get behind the tie-tucked-into-pants.

Otherwise he looks great.

Anonymous Greg said ... (1:23 AM) :

I for one dislike the suit with shorts and sockless dress shoes look that seems to be trendy right now. I'm also not into his tucked in tie but I would let that pass after the aforementioned atrocities. On the other hand, I'm fine with club collars (it's not, as someone here mentioned a few months back, something only a select few can pull off) and, living in the American South, I'm all for seersucker. Overall, though, I think this look is just trying too hard.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 AM) :

He's handsome and dashing, but an old friend would call this look Not Enough Pants. And I would, albeit sadly, have to agree.

Anonymous dheyyy said ... (1:41 AM) :

he looks cool,in indonesian we says 'CUEK banget'.. like this. beside him, 2 men with coy smile, looks pretty cute hihihii,

Anonymous Conni, Denmark said ... (3:17 AM) :

I love to see that men actually can wear short trousers and still be stylish. There is this ongoing discussion whether it's okay or not; I think this guy shows that it is more than okay! I do, however, prefer the loafers to the lace-up shoes, giving a more casual look. All in all he's cool, casual and classy! (Please forgive me, if my English is a bit rusty)

How do you get a shirt so tightly tucked in like that? I seem to always have a problem keeping it tight without it puffing out a little.

Email me with an answer please! phall3@nd.edu

He makes it seem so effortless, when you know he probably puts a lot of thought into his outfits. Very cool and great smile too. His friend cracks me up-- must be camera-shy.

Anonymous diaboliqueguan said ... (4:51 AM) :

preppy can be sexy!

Blogger SebsInFortLauderdale said ... (6:24 AM) :

I love all his looks - so neat. As if he didn't want to check his luggage, or lost all of his luggage, yet was still able to bring or buy a few simple, "necessary things." I keep trying to find the perfect pair of slimmer fit shorts - that aren't denim - to wear with blazers & haven't succeeded. I am 5'5" and 28 to 30 waist & can't find the right length.

Blogger Melissa L said ... (6:51 AM) :

I am loving his look, confidence and style, and it gave me the biggest smile.

Blogger anthony said ... (11:54 AM) :

I'm not sure what "New Prep Standard" means but that is smashing stuff.

Anonymous OllieR said ... (2:38 PM) :

New Prep Standard is a reference to his Preppy yet Smart and Chic look. This is a man drenched in effortless style and is a prime example of how to gain age, but not loose confidence or taste.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

The first pic is fantastic. He can really pull this look off. Not for everyone, but it's a very sharp ensemble. Somebody put him in a fashion mag!

Anonymous Elisabethbaysset said ... (4:18 PM) :

J'aime beaucoup la sobriété de votre travail , EB

Anonymous Ryan said ... (5:57 PM) :

Blogger Mo said ... (2:42 AM) :

His legs are so perfect. Your eye for beauty never ceases to take my breath away :-)

I need a little every day.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:47 PM) :

the first picture is beautiful, the shades of blue and light greay make the classic, minimal style perfect.

Blogger alabama2japan said ... (1:02 PM) :

Sorry, I am a big fan of your work, but I have to disagree with a comment like "the new Prep standard". The highwater slacks look is already getting a little tired. Now, we have the exaggerated version with shorts? I am guessing that this is the one last big gasp before people realize that they don't have to try so hard to look avant garde.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:28 PM) :

Love the second and third pics. Very cool,

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 PM) :

Blogger Sdunford said ... (10:22 PM) :

Coming from Bermuda. It has always bought me such joy to see shorts stylishly put together. Little do people know that it can be very tough. Bravo and now I will pull out my Bermuda's.

Blogger Twins said ... (9:11 AM) :

Love that!! Could it be possible to authorize all the business men to go to work with that style at least each Friday?!

Anonymous princess gabunales said ... (10:27 AM) :

it's one of those things you can think of about shoes "without socks"..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 AM) :

What really caught my eye was the way that he tucked his skinny tie into his pants. That and his hair. Overall he just looks so comfortable in his own skin. :) X Alex
