WOW.....my mother use to dress like this..... just a piece of cloth.....love it!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:29 AM) :

to me, this is what seperates people that have style versus people who wear stylish clothing. this piece, i would imagine, a person that wears stylish clothes would pair with gladiator sandals. the shoes she chose are much more 'out there'. furthermore, the handbag and necklace are bold statements on their own.
respect.

For those of you not on the east coast, yes, it is hot enough for this outfit. The high for today in NYC is 90 degrees.

I'm not digging the space-age sandals, but the kaftan looks quite elegant. I've noticed kaftans showing up more often with high end retailers this year. No complaints from me about that.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

So much to love about this, but not all of it. I'm not crazy about those shoes and I think the bag is just clunky against the flowing lines of the dress. It's like airy and graceful met up with heavy and dark.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:47 PM) :

there is something strange yet captivating about how large her feet are... lovely picture.

Anonymous Lin said ... (9:54 AM) :

I think the size of her feet/shoes as observed by Anonymous goes well with the ample flow and "wingspan" of the kaftan. The ivory color of both contrasts beautifully with her skin tone. The whole look is admirably done.

Blogger amelia said ... (8:30 PM) :

gorgeous. perfectly put together with a little "umph" from the shoes. love love love.

Blogger ChalcedonyofSF said ... (12:15 AM) :

She IS attractive - no doubt - her clothing interesting, unique: The caftan with a feeling of the Middle East, the bright blue/turquoise necklace and even the gold sandals all work separately and together. She is a vision of both ease and understated luxury. HOWEVER, that purse simply does not work. C'est tout! Gorgeous bag (I love it) but far to heavy. It looks like it is weighing her down. The size useful, but I can imagine a woven thing or a fabric tote - something with a feeling of "air" to it - the material is wrong, or maybe the unbroken color of it, not the size/capacity. I guess some days you know you need the Big Bag!
Everything else works - nice to see.
