Madrid in Full Color

I really enjoyed myself in Madrid last week, thank you Movistar!

It takes a few trips to an emerging design city like Madrid to start understanding what makes it uniquely beautiful. I think I'm starting to get the groove of Madrid. It's turning out to be a great city for menswear. Just One, Man, and Patch are all shops I want to explore and report on in the near future.

I, too, found/find certain cities in Spain to exude notable style, Some the elegant type while others, the carefree boho type. This photo is a mix of both, I think. Count on you to find it all in one. The bangles, colors and prints on these neat ladies are examples. xx from Soleil

Blogger davidikus said ... (1:03 PM) :

I am surprised to see Madrid classified as an emerging design city... With Paco Rabanne & Cristobal Balenciaga, the contribution of Spain to fashion has been arguably greater than, say, London. Not to mention the great line of Spanish painters throughout the centuries, & all the great cinema in the 20C & 21C - inc. but not limited to the Movida, obviously.

Great photo nonetheless!

Viva Madrid! If there's one thing Spanish folks do really well, it's wearing bright colors. Seriously, they embrace them here like nobody's business. When I first moved here 7 years ago I was actually a little put off by so much exuberance, but now I'm happy to be surrounded by such zest and color.
