what are those black buckle boots with the brown, antique trim soles? I want them! They are excellent.

Blogger JK said ... (3:56 PM) :

I saw someone wearing tweed and denim today! I was going to take a photo for my own style blog, but they wandered off.

Blogger Yajaira said ... (4:02 PM) :

love the men's patterns ( Tweed / Houndstooth ) for what's left of the fall!!

SPringgggg yeahhhhhhhhhh

Anonymous Vicki said ... (4:03 PM) :

Amazing photos, Scott!
If you know the brand of those black leather buckled boots in the second photo, let me know!

Blogger SabinePsynopsis said ... (4:04 PM) :

I quite like summer tweed, too - but then, I live in England.

Blogger Blair Nastasi said ... (4:12 PM) :

Love the tweed coat! Winter fashion is so cute, I just hate the cold weather! :)

Great pairings! I think high-waisted tweed trousers with a nice denim (or chambray) shirt tuck-in would be outfit-perfection!

I really like the last photo:the coat, bag, and the loafers+socks is spot-on.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:17 PM) :

Tweed & denim is generally one of the most aesthetically pleasing, versatile, easily-personalized fabric combinations ever.

Love that second photo--even the coat-as-cape silliness looks good.

Blogger Angel said ... (4:18 PM) :

Five Steps ahead of you, tweed and Denim is a great mix, I personally think it can be extended well into spring if you play with some bright colors to lead into summer. The first photo is so great, a perfect length for very slim jeans.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 PM) :

i need to know what shoes those are in the second photo!!!

Anonymous Alison said ... (4:20 PM) :

L.O.V.E. those boots in picture no. 2.

Anonymous { fashion blows hard } said ... (4:25 PM) :

You're totally right! I've bought some tweed things that look amazing (:

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:33 PM) :

wonderful! especially the first picture :)

Anonymous fashionhogger said ... (4:34 PM) :

OMG, so already did this! And so ready for spring! no more winter please! :)

Anonymous Amy Creyer (ChicagoStreetStyle.com) said ... (4:58 PM) :

The buckle boots are by Celine. I own them. They're very difficult to break in and made of very stiff leather. I wear them just like in the photo, with the pants tucked in behind the wrap detail.

Anonymous Maureen French said ... (5:00 PM) :

Love the tweed + denim combo especially for San Francisco where summer doesn't arrive till August :) The ankle socks with menswear inspired shoes and tweed coat is adorable.

Loving this!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:06 PM) :

'K...there is just too much chic-ness going on in these series of photographs. Granted, jeans and different tweeds and plaids...some peeps might say, "so what?!" but still, the different take on the same type of clothing...Brilliant! I love it!

Blogger Z. said ... (5:22 PM) :

loviiiiing these pictures :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:05 PM) :

I wonder if the person in the second picture is a man or a woman???????

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

sorry but whats new with tweed&Denim?? ...or maybe cos I was wearing it back in the 80´s (flashback)? Hmmmmm anyway, it´s strong and chic, very "urban" look!

Blogger jackie said ... (6:25 PM) :

classic and cool, very nice! i did this a few times during our miami winter without noticing

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 PM) :

Strange but i have now come to the conclusion that all jeans now need a turn up they just don't work without......discuss. Pretty much none earth shattering the wearing of denim and tweed though.

Blogger Gina A. said ... (6:53 PM) :

LOVE this classic combo....brings out the inner (well kinda outer actually) prep in me :D

Thanks!

Awesome. Very Ian McCulloch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 PM) :

hey, remember its always winter somewhere when you're online...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 PM) :

In the first picture, the grey socks go great with the dark jeans. Besides a fun colored sock or striped sock, it is hard to find the right color to go with dark jeans. Navy, black and especially white just don't look right. A charcoal grey always goes perfectly with a dark washed jean. Once I figured this out, my decision process become so much easier with what sock to wear with jeans

Anonymous The Bohmerian said ... (10:17 PM) :

I love any tweed and denim combo!

Blogger Jessie said ... (10:28 PM) :

i absolutely love the shoes in the last photograph! looking for a pair like that. gorgeous photographs as always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 AM) :

Felt compelled to wear my rolled-sleeve herringbone tweed today (with, as always, jeans). Wasn't sure why until I remembered seeing these photos earlier in the day. Thanks for the inspiration--or, more precisely, reminding me to recheck my closet and pull out some fab stuff that's drifted to the back!

Blogger hp said ... (8:02 AM) :

One British, One American...and they match! ;p

By the way, what does one suggest by way of tweed-denim combination for a tropical country with no winter...? Please? Thanks in advance!

Blogger CAYA said ... (8:18 AM) :

Tweed + Denim = a nice combination. Especially the last picture.

Blogger Skinny Hipster... said ... (9:51 AM) :

NICE!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

The hem of the jeans in the first shot is perfect. I have a pair of jeans that are too long. They look fine with tennis shoes. Every now and then I consider wearing them with cap toes, but can't bring myself to do it. That photo reminds me why. I need to get to a tailor or give it up.

Anonymous The Denim Jacket said ... (11:20 AM) :

Love this combination, and lighter tweeds can be worn all year round depending on climate!

Blogger Milica said ... (11:21 AM) :

Blogger Tristan said ... (6:21 PM) :

thumbs up for the shoes in the first pic! Well done on the socks too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

2nd look is fantastic!

Blogger Nomadic D. said ... (1:29 PM) :

tweed & denim always makes sense. and though we don't see it here, the reverse works too, denim shirt with tweed pants. the joys of winter!

She has what it takes to wear the anklets and the loafers; beautifully shaped legs. I love it.

Simply amazing.

Blogger Loulouprim said ... (10:46 PM) :

I love the last photo, the bag with the loafers. It reminds me of my boarding school and college days.
