Ah, very elegant and she looks so sweet for some reason.

Her hair is absolutely beautiful!
I love vintage kelly bags from hermes.

This is such a lovely image!! I love her simple colors with the bright florals in the background!! very beautiful!
http://www.fashionanatomie.blogspot.com
Judging from her appearance (legs) she could have been a runway model. The flowers she's looking at make for a colorful background
just amazing
I'm feeling this.
Beautiful coat, together with the color of the stockings, her hair and the red Kelly bag a great look
this is incredible. what an amazing shot.

Don't you have the Google Translate App for iPhone or Android?
It's pretty amazing.
First thing I noticed... Her hair. I love her hair color, it's so natural, so healthy. Clothes are great too. Classic coat. Simple elegance.
classy
what a vision, and just from the back!
♥intresting♥
My mother has said over the years "gettin' old ain't for pussies." I interpret it to mean that I better have and maintain a solid foundation about most things when I reach old age. Your pictures lately have given me ideas on how to age beautifully so I can have that solid foundaton and not become a pussy.
Class is....
Thanks for sharing! I'm your latest fan!
non mi piacciono le pellicce!
sarebbe stata più chic con un cappotto lungo beige.
Nice shot, I like too. flower shop and madame.
OMG...I hope to be that stylish when I am older...
Love her hair. Another great shot where the background is perfectly suited.
She looks like an absolute doll! Such elegance and love the pop of red, too.

Wow!! I love it!!
Wow, I think it's one of my favourites shots ever! I gaze at it and I can't get enough...
Really really loving your blog!
Just started following and very much enjoy the fact that you feature all age groups and looks.
Love it! That nearly exact coat was on the runway this Fashion month, and I think I love it more on her than the model!

I just love, love, love this photograph! All the colors of the flowers and her bag are brilliant against her monochrome.
This lady still has it!

She looks very elegant and her legs are perfect!

These ladies you're shooting are wonderful examples of italian old style beauty and elegance
You're right. A vision, she is. Fantastico!

Wow! Just WOW!!<3
Love her shoes - I thought she was barefoot for a minute! And her long fur coat makes it really stand out. Hermes? Wow. I need it!
This is the first time I comment on your website, this image is just perfect. I wanted to say that before I started looking at your blog a couple of months ago when my friend was given your book as a present, I had never been interested in fashion before. At all. The people you choose to photograph are amazing, but the way in which you photograph them is such a large part of that. You make each person appear extremely unique, and they are, but that comes across so well in your photos. Every picture conveys a character. You are truly doing an amazing job, and I have since given 'The sartorialist' book away as a present to people I know who appreciate design, but also great photography. You have made me love clothes, and realise how much they can do to bring out the uniqueness in each of us. Congratulations.
Please let me take to your street shooting. I can be a strong help on language!
Her monochrome looks seems sad and washed out next to all those blossoms.
I wish i could see her face, she looks immaculate. Vintage is when you are young and it's the first time around. Delicate line.
usually i don't feel the want to see more than what your shot captures but this time, i would really give a hoot to see a frontside.
Perfection. Such elegance.
Love, love, love this! The look is chic, youthful, and especially fresh against the backdrop of the flower stall. Sheer perfection!

Lovely!
Fantasticcccc!!!
just beautiful
Maybe it's time for you to learn some italian, swedish and french. At least the basic frases that one might need to know: "Est'ce que je peux te photographer, s'il vous plaît?" "Du är jättevacker, får jag ta en bild på dig?" and so on. :)
... or whatever the french is!
trendy!

i love love love this! the fur contrasted with the brightly colored flowers is truly beautiful.
http://wordbyjessie.com
lovely!
Most of all, it is the flower stalls I like.
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
I love monochrome looks, there is something very elegant about it and this women certainly pulls it off wonderfully. I also love the splash of color in the background with the flowers. Beautiful.
Absolutely love her look!

First thought: Margot Tenenbaum.
I love seeing fur coats on such sylphlike women, since the intimidating notion of the 'fur coat' is softened by the fragile aesthetic.
brilliant - on both her part and yours.
She looks so approachable, even in all that monochrome :)
http://fixyourfacemakeup.blogspot.com/
Adore!
Her hair color is so lovely.
This is a great shot! The red accent is so nice and works so well!

an exceptional photo. because - finally - a picture of a senior and because of the composition. monochrome and flowered backdrop. kudos. i see you have another recent photo of an oldster. good. love it when you snap the real people, not only the "beautiful" people. real people photos are sart at his best...
She looks very classy and elegant.
I dearly hope that is faux fur. Something tells me it isn't though :(
I love the latest spike of older people on this blog- interesting and inspiring... This look is lovely, I love her hair and the way shee stands out from the flower stand.
She is not in her 60s, rather 70+. And this is how old ladies look in Milano (where I live). Most have this build and this attitude. And you may spot some on bikes - with the same outfit!
Also, on the lady with the scarf on head - this is old style scarf knotting, you still see it in countryside areas in traditional Europe.
So stylish!!! This time she reminds my grandma ;)

Love the color from her.

Splendid photo of a splendid woman. So full of life, surrounded by the flowers..
I love all the horizontal lines!

a touch of paris-gout in Milan.
Your shots of older people are tremendous. As you said, their fashion sense is based on their own reference points. I love the fact that their looks are, in the end, timeless and unique. Please keep these photos going.
sniff sniff, I'm trying to let my hair growing white (au naturel), need loads of pacience.
what a graceful woman. and that hair - cropped short AND silver. amazing.

What a shame you were unable to communicate. She's the kind of person we can all learn from, the most. A well of experience. Get a translator app for your phone and go find her!
Classic! What an inspiration.

Classic! What an inspiration.

Beautiful contrast between her monochrome and flowers. I'm glad she is not wearing Spartacus shoes etc. But seriously, isn't she is a retired ballerina from the Ballets Trocaderos de Monte Carlo?
somehow ethereal...
amazing shot! :D
Very cool! I wonder what color of lipstick she is wearing.
INCREDIBLE!
amazing
This is one stylish lady. Wow!
Together with the beautiful background, this is a fantastic photo.
Skinny legs and flats always come together.
Awesome photo, but I just can't understand how you don't speak ANY Italian (even the minimum to make a -deserved- compliment to the lady), assuming the time you spend in Milan! However, I'm still a fan :)
She looks absolutely wonderful.

Divina! White head, white legs... some of eternal youth!

Classic! What an inspiration.

http://diaryofamuddledmind.blogspot.com/
Beautiful!
Mounds of Joy
I want to be this elegant when I'm older.
Beautiful shoot!
I think that your shoots during "normal days" are much better than the ones during fashion week.
During "normal days" i feel they are closer to a big safari, and are much more uncommon, more original, more inspiring.
Ciao!
flora and fauna. love.
She could be formerly a ballerina. Also, amazingly thin calves! I'm probably half her age and my calves are like tree trunks!
AMAZING Photo.Love her short white hair :-D
I hope she understood enough to consent to your putting her photo on the internet! LOL!
Very inspiring!

Just simply AMAZING!!!
http://3thirtyinthemorning.blogspot.com/
You know her home is amazing.
this women is already my style icon, and i haven't even seen her face!
her poise is that of a ballerina, and just exudes class. Besides, her choice of fur is so soft! She is probably a dear.
Love the fur XD
i agree there is such a sweetness, to her look, her surroundings, the picture is just perfect. it makes me want to be her!
http://bonjourbelletristesse.blogspot.com/
Really cute!
i really appreciate your finding inspiration in the fashion of older generations. the simple elegance of this look makes me realize how overdone many "fashionistas" feel they need to be to achieve a level of chic. Well done and thank you!
I was always so certain that you were fluent in Italian! After all, you spend so much time in Milan. No big though - great photo!
Sweet, elegant and lovely.
I absolutely adore this woman! I hope to look as amazing as her in my prime.
http://joysohn.blogspot.com
she's glorious...and I have "un faible" for these tones
only one word for this picture: AMAZING
Elegent look..Amazing!!
http://mertxehernandez.blogspot.com/
Ahh. I would die to talk to her. if only i had a full view of her beauty. I like the difference between her monochrome and the rainbow of the flowers in the backround.
melanie
A vision. And a lovely one.
