What an unusual and unexpected sight this must have been. Not every day that we see a man with fishnet stockings adorned with gold and silver beads -- this is a brave and intrepid man if I've ever seen one.

Genius.

Anonymous A Girl, A Style said ... (4:53 PM) :

Ha! I can't work out whether I love or hate the fact that this man is wearing embellished Sass & Bide leggings that cost more than most people's monthly salary.

For now, I'll just say: what a great detail to have captured!

There is a thrill of discovering such wonderful oddities. It makes my life feel less "THX 1138" -ish.

A wild Scotsman?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 AM) :

I'm all for something quirky and avant garde but this is a miss. Something is off. The leggings and shoes translate to rebellious youth but of course the upper half does not. He's sending a confusing message.

Patrick McDonald said to me about New York, "Don't be afraid. Just come here. And be yourself." I see the same is true of Paris.

This guy has the courage of his convictions. I love him. He is my hero. Or, as McDonald himself might say, "Just dandy."

Blogger Katie @ Yankee and Peach said ... (10:39 AM) :

He reminds me of a fellow I snapped many years ago near the Arc de Triomphe, who was dressed in all leather and was leading a (live!) chicken on a leather lead. There were strands of twinkling lights behind him and wreaths hanging in shop windows - and the mood was perfect, bizarre, and fabulous.
Needless to say, it was my Christmas card that year.

Anonymous Saw Lady said ... (10:50 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 AM) :

Heavens, where is my sewing basket? And my Beadazzler, which suddenly does not seem like a silly thing to have around? I am itching to give some new life to an old pair of leggings!

Sart, this is why I agree with your words about looking at runway photos, whether you can afford luxury clothes or not. You can be pretty broke, but still learn from designers, and benefit from their good ideas. It is the same reason that a person who paints as a hobby should visit galleries and museums. Inspiration is a treasure, and it is usually free!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:03 PM) :

if this is his day-wear, exactly what does he wear to the disco?
