Blogger GINGER FASHION MONSTERS said ... (9:00 AM) :

It's great the way the doorway frames her, as it seems to emphasise the beige-brown colour-scheme of her outfit.
That combination of the belted-trench and heels is the ultimate classy look.

I don't know - that's a whole lot of naked leg. Beautiful but still naked leg. The proportions seem a bit off - coat too short for heels that high.

Blogger Kathleen said ... (11:53 AM) :

Lovely photo! Cute coat and bag. I'm a little scared of the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

totally disproportionate !!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:01 PM) :

Separately, the pieces are great, but they don't work together. I think the coat is meant for only a very young woman...it's such a playful design...unless worn with a pencil skirt?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:04 PM) :

I'm not at all a fan of the high heel short trench combination on women of any age.
This trench could have worked with a great trouser or legging and flats.
So tired of all these stilettos!

As I read the other comments, I am reminded once again of how so many people see the same thing, differently. And that in the end, you have to dress with confidence, for yourself. The only thing my mother taught me about fashion? "Stay thin and fit and you'll look good in anything." I have, and I do. Everything else I've learned from The Sartorialist :*

as a study in proper shoe fitting: the left heel has slid forward and makes the shoe look too big. the right heel is sitting perfectly in the shoe.

Smilin' at everybody she sees

(The Association, 1967)

Only thing missing would are the letters KLM or BOAC on her bag...

Anonymous anna said ... (3:18 PM) :

ok so the bag is hermes..i would've guessed as much though. it is absolutely exquisite, and it makes the outfit a perfect 10 even if i kinda would've liked to see her wear some variety of men's shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:54 PM) :

All I can think is Sugar Plum Fairy. To me, these proportions (teensy flared skirt over tippy-toe shoes) seem more suited for the Paris Opera Ballet than the street... especially because there's something eerily doll-like about the whole look. I respect her sense of style & her eye for creating an ensemble, but... no. Not working for me at all.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 AM) :

Sorry! This look cannot be described as 'classy' or 'elegant'. It looks like she's not wearing anything under the trench. That may be 'sexy' but it's the opposite of classy and elegant. If she had on a pencil skirt then it would be classy. Nice photo, nice colours, lovely bag.

"She's got Legs!" Wow, is she hip! Love those towering shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

I am so conflicted. I love the way her shoes swirls around her feet. She has lovely cream skin and delicate legs. Yet there is something creepy about hobbling women. If it's cold enough to wear this lovely flirty trench coat, wear tights until it's warm, but then I'd miss her skin. The chic sex flasher is a great theme to dress for a day.

Blogger Mallory said ... (1:08 AM) :

those heels are AWESOME

Anonymous Lucia said ... (7:34 AM) :

Am I really the only one who doesn't like this at all? The proportions are all wrong, the coat too short for a tall woman like that, the heels too high, and I must say that this look would be ok for a 19 year old girl, not for someone over 40. This look totally ridiculous. But the picture is great! The light and the composing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

She looks cold, and look at the terrain in which she will be walking in those shoes! This is what it looks like when you're trying too hard. She's beautiful to begin with, so she doesn't need to.

Blogger xx said ... (12:06 PM) :

This is beyond beautiful. The framing of the picture, the glow of her hair, the shape of her amazing trench coat. I'm completely swooning over this shot.

Anonymous pikapoka said ... (3:19 PM) :

Very nice framing and the light from behind. It seems as she is entering another dimension or stepping into the mirror.

I like her outfit to the point where her coat ends ... but her shoes are just too much in this outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

I obviously respect your outdoor pictures but the ones you made inside fashion shows are truly amazing!

Blogger Aubrey and Melissa said ... (8:49 PM) :

There is literally nothing that could make this more perfect. Outfit, shoes, the frame of the doorway, the lighting. All of it perfect.

Anonymous JustChiffonandDandt said ... (10:49 PM) :

It's the brushed hair in the light... Very 60s/70s.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 AM) :

I am not thinking proportions when I look at this; some folks think that the flash of leg is somewhat unbecoming because she is pretty enough and doesn't have to/isn't she cold in that?/it looks like she isn't wearing anything else underneath that trench. Sart, you saw an angel pause to look at you before the heavenly arches and took a good shot. With legs like that, no explanation is necessary. For the record, I am an ethnic Chinese Singaporean female.

Blogger Barbara said ... (6:11 AM) :

Of the 145 comments, I find only 3 negative ones, and those are mild. Are you censoring our comments? This smacks of the totalitarian state where no dissent is tolerated. Why don't you just allow people to say what they think? You will certainly not publish this post, just as you never publish anything I say that I don't like. On the other hand, you tend to post my positive comments, although I get the creepy feeling that you blacklist me. People will still adore Sart even if they read grumpy comments. What are you afraid of? I find this rather dishonest, personally.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:06 PM) :

Oh please, the negativity really? Who cares if she's a bit cold?? Fashion is Fashion and she does it flawlessly ... barbie grew up and got a sense of style!

Anonymous P8 said ... (7:21 PM) :
