Comments on "On the Street...London Hair Now, London"
i love it.. it's very old-school glamour.
Gorgeous fur! I think I prefer the hair of the second, but the outfit of the first. Beautiful red lips too.

mon Dieu, vraiment le Roi est de retour! The king is back, the 40's also
GREAT fur collars. love it ladies.

Fabulous. I love when it becomes popular for women to coif their hair once again. Seems to come and go unfortunately.
Very well spotted! This is indeed a style of hair (ok similar styles of hairdo) that are very very London at the moment!
Mad Men influence?

It's soooo...feminin!
These are amazing! Love the waves/lipstick/fur combo, so chic.
Love the hair, yes! Love the lips and collars, too.
Very posh! I love that retro styling. Only wish I had the patience to work my hair into similar styles.
Think I might have to try this! Gorgeous!

Very retro but sweet. I like the second look more. It is still very wearable.

The 50's inspired hair is beautiful. I love the pin curls.
My Heart Blogged
Oh my, these ladies look so elegantly retro. Love, love, love it! People used to dress and take care of their appearance better in the old days, and I'm glad this sort of fashion is coming back in popularity. Mad Men's influence maybe?
I'm speechless
There is something about a woman wearing fur I find very unappealing
gorgeous fur

I like the red lipsticks and fur collars; their hair styles remind me of Hollywood back in the 40's & 50's
I'm glad you photographed these ladies. They remind me of the women I grew up around including my mother. Even when she's going to the grocery store, she's dressed fabulously!
bellissime e intriganti
so retro & chic
lady #1 is my kinda gal. Just beautiful!
love the touch of fur..both are stunning!
red lips and fur around the neck.
All you need to succeed

So glad to see this style on the streets. I love vintage hair styles and before you'd only get to see girls wearing them at burlesque shows.
Fabulous! Love the hair-- and the definition under the eyes, which is all too much erased in most fashion close ups. Thank you for your real pics. - Jean
The curls and raspberry red lips
are so iconic. They also hint of the impending spring

I've always loved London ;)
Love the hairstyle in photo # 1...and the old Hollywood make up of both ladies.

the red lip seems to be popular choise with the 40s/50s inspired hair.
The problem with hair like this is that it needs to be 'done' to look right, and not like you rolled out of bed after a big fancy dress party the night before. In the 40s and 50s women went to a lot of trouble to make sure their hair looked 'done' and 'perfect' and in our low maintenance times it just doesn't work, and maybe looks a bit awkward in fact. Either use the hairspray and setting lotion or please don't try this look!! Ask Dita Von Teese!
So Madmen like
xo thefashionguitar
the hairdo of the second lady is awesome
http://www.ohmydior.org/
almost thought they were the same person! beautiful. reminds me of dita von teese.
So 50's... they look so chic and classic, I love it !!!

Looks like the stepped out of 1940... So classy!
Your photography is always so beautifully natural and spiritual. I absolutely adore the relaxed counternance that you achieve from the models. Truly the work of a master!
www.recreatedanew.blogspot.com
Love both but especially the first... wish I could be so glam!
Very 1930's, love it!
xx
So mad men, I love it. I'm a fan of these twist and pin updos.

VaVoom, gorgeous!
Looks like London's gone all war-time on us - the coats, the hair and lips, the 'washer-woman' turban.... lett see how we can twist it a bit... love a retro mix up!

Such classy looking women. The lip colors and the fur shawls are so delectable.
www.TheFancyTeacup.com
much love.
I love their 1940s 'Churchill's still alive and we're fighting Hitler' look. And the red lipstick's really poppin'! They're both giving me Kristin Scott Thomas playing Aunt Mimi in Nowhere Boy.
I am head over heals in love with that first photo, I love the old hollywood glamor here. So beautiful, stunning. The furs are incredible.
I love the collars and the hair! Tres chic.
So glamorous, so fabulous!

I'm not a fan of furry looks because most people bomb it big time, but these ladies look absolutely gorgeous.
Yay for 40s hair!! I love it!
So elegant :)

Signature curls that dates this style back to the 40s...such a classy look!
I wish I could style my hair like that everyday. It reminds me of the old Hollywood glamor. Thanks for sharing!

Yes! It is really old-fashioned ! Love it.
The girl in the bottom photo remionds me so much of Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The red head looks as though she just stepped out of the 1940's, great look
Love the hair and makeup.
www.camillecupcake.blogspot.com
Is anyone else here not liking the fur both on these ladies and all over the catwalks. Please I thought we were past fur.
breath taking
http://missmollyfashions.blogspot.com/
Like the dark brunette. Hair, fur, lips, old fashioned beauty. Eternal.
Great hairdos but a big NO to the fur!!!
She reminds me a woman from another era! Great pics, congrats!
www.abitoffashion.com
Love the burlesque groove! And am going to assume that these two retro godesses are wearing very vintage or fabulously faux furs. After all, women with that much style & class couldn't possibly be wearing new fur, could they now?
I love this!
http://slackandlack.blogspot.com/
Cool!
I love it!!
Great!So glamourous!
http://seeperlen.blogspot.com/
classic ... I love this style
isn't fur a no-no anymore?

Cool fur necks, amazing!
http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/
Aging and harsh. While I respect the vintage aspect ie. I like anything other than the status quo, most women's faces needs a softer frame.
Gorgeous first picture! It looks like taken in the 1950
breathtaking!
the first photo channels the
1930's with the marcel wave.
the second channels the 1940's pompadour.
i love these beautiful hairstyles and how they're paired with crimson lips and lovely furs! i'm happy fashion is a cycle sometimes- these vintage styles are great!
Not my favorite of hair styles but I do love how well they pair with the furs and the simple makeup.
Lovable! Now I´m looking forward to summer and some definite waves and curls! Then of course the effect of fur will be missing - maybe some pastel chiffon scarves -
Sart, thanks for bringing the fun factor up in fashion!
If these pictures were aged, I would've thought they were taken in 50 years ago or so.
I love the second one.
Old style is always the best!
i love these retro hair ! especially the second one.
I love classic looks. Saves the mind, saves the wallet.
To everyone freaking out over the fur, I agree with you that the new fur fashions on catwalks now make me unhappy. But it is fine to wear vintage fur as these ladies are, because the animal has already been killed and the fur stored or cared for decades. It is better to prize vintage fur than to discard it as the life has already been taken. You can tell what is vintage fur by the fur and styling. New fashions don't cut fur collars as shown by these two photos.
LOVE <333 how do you find all these magnifique people? I never see people like this. or maybe I should start looking :)
great old school glamour, love the styling!
aimee und jaguar. felice is gal #1 and lily is gal #2. i would like to link my arms through theirs and walk down the street in today's society. 'tis a better place than theirs.

Gosh, so stunning.
How does one do that?
J'adore ces coiffures années 40, c'est toujours très féminins...
Amazing! So classic and beautiful.
Fur is so appealing... wish it could carry over to spring!
YES YES YES!!!
Absolutely lovely!
Amazing 40's vibe but somehow modern too - gorgeous! Now, where are my rollers?
Love the hair, love the red lips.
Through your photography I've discovered that Europeans smoke like chimneys and wear real fur.
the fur, the coats, the hair, the colors... just like those in the movies.
nouveauskin.blogspot.com
I love their fur collars and the forties pin curls. Absolutely adorable in an incredibly vintage way.
Her hair looks astonishing
www.theyoungbookcollector.blogspot.com
just done enough to be glamorous & unusual without being too stiff & harsh (Reese Witherspoon & Sharon Stone at the Oscars were an awful warning)
I yearn to be that chic and polished but sadly, on an older woman, this forties look just adds years. So, please, all you younger women - 'glam' up and save us all from the laissez-faire attire that we are subjected to on the streets.
AUTENTICA!!! SEGURO QUE ARRASAN CON ESA TENDENCIA,QUE ELEGANCIA,QUE ESTILO...
INGRID!!! You look gorgeous! See you soon xxx
Love the hair, hate the fur
Hermanita,que arte.
Te adoro!
I LOVE this haircut..I wanted something like this for my prom and the women in salon said that I my hair is to heavy and the hair would just fall apart :( I was so sad ...
this is just fabulous
Oh I love these classic looks
cool and very stylish 40's haircut!! Nice Ingrid!!! Regards from Madrid from Pepe + Pepito + Chus*
Love the hair. Very beautiful old glamour.
As a hairdresser I really like it when people start to play with their hair and have the confidence to try style something slightly out of the ordinary. I also appreciate the imperfectly-perfect vibe.
Absolutely love the hair.
I love your blog its so informative lol i like the clothes you post, definatly cool. Can you please Look at unique28.com for more fashion, i think you would like it
So gorgeous
My fave is the first girl because I love the severity and accuracy-near precision of her look. She stepped out oft the newer Miss Marple miniseries on TV, I swear it! I love it though.
Retro 30's - 40's.
Very Mildred Pierce.....
