Absolutely love his shoes! That is such a strong look right now - refined worker boots with slim legs rolled up. It's perfect. Such an unexpected print on the jacket too. Really cool shot. xx

This gives me a great idea of how to wear my skinny white jeans-- with brown boots and a camo jacket. Wonderful when this happens on your site.

Blogger Ella said ... (5:37 PM) :

Lately at school, my friends and I have been talking about how we don't like white pants on guys. But this COMPLETELY changes my mind!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (5:43 PM) :

Am I starved for Sartorialist blogging or are you so much more than you were a few months ago? I cannot make up my mind. Are my eyes and mind more awake? S - - T! Cannot make up my mind. Am I starved for beauty in this World of white and snow? Yes!
Love the photograph, love the hint of sunlight. Oh, how I want the warmth of spring. Loving the white pants, the boots, and the jacket. At 52, the crossroads of "What should I wear and what is the cut off age?" scream at me daily. Scott you send me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:49 PM) :

If you want to wear camo, this is the way to do it! The Red Wings make all the difference.

I wonder what his glasses are...

Blogger wicktorian said ... (5:55 PM) :

I rarely comment, but this is just perfection. This is the ideal.

p.s. Scott, please come to Chicago sometime. Not now obviously, but when it gets warmer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:49 PM) :

I realize that these Red Wing-type American work-wear boots are all the rage in Italy these days → But, are they really that attractive to look at....?? :-(

The jacket is Stone Island, from 2008 I think. Hand-painted camo, made in one green and one brown shade.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 PM) :

for some reason not a fan of the jacket..(not sure if its the length or the bulkiness of it or both)..but i do love the cuffed chinos with the rugged boots, even though it appears more americanized.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 PM) :

I thought the boots were C.P. Company? In any case, nice Italian take on the classic American workboot. I have a 35-year-old pair of the originals in perfect condition after all these years and, boy, have they been useful this NYC winter!

Anonymous jimjims said ... (11:18 PM) :

ya, this camo is stellar and looks hand done!

rad!

I love that Red Wings are in style--very classic. My Grandpa worked at the Red Wing Shoe Co. for many years, so they always remind me of him!

Blogger Enrico said ... (7:45 AM) :

I LOVE RED WINGS!

Anonymous Book Of Gems said ... (8:46 AM) :

I just love the jacket, but the pants are a bit to short for my taste (even if that might be very in at the moment). Alltogether the look is great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 AM) :

I've got the same shoes. Redwings are always awesome.

Blogger Mary Beth said ... (8:58 AM) :

Yes, to what someone said above...white pants with camo is very refreshing. People get afraid to wear white in the winter because it shows dirt. Just wear white, people! I do.

Blogger Kathy said ... (10:02 AM) :

It's the pants that make it...If he had on jeans, the look would not be the same. k

Anonymous Maryanne said ... (10:08 AM) :

the winter white trousers are the perfect highlight for the jacket & boots.
once again that ankle detail..cuffed hem.

deep in conversation on his iphone..let's hope he's not kicking that wall.

Would love to have this jacket in a girly cut...

Blogger Yajaira said ... (4:04 PM) :

nice jacket

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

I appreciate that he's got his own style, but this look is much, much too pristine for me. The perfectly polished boots, spotless jeans, and immaculate jacket create a look that's precious, not cool.

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (4:32 PM) :

Love the jacket! If the splotches were white it'd look like someone had thrown snowballs at him...right?!

http://lisapetrarca.blogspot.com/2011/02/walkabout.html

Blogger UsernamesAreUseless said ... (4:45 PM) :

I cant say i love any of those items separately but like put together it looks amazin. I love that outfit.

Anonymous Marisa said ... (4:50 PM) :

He looks like his is skateboarding on his Red Wings. The cuffed white pants give the look a nice contrast. Only an Italian could make camo, Red Wings and white skinny jeans look polished together. The glint of his upswept gray hair, completes the image.

Blogger Chris said ... (5:39 PM) :

Like the pants and boots all right but really not liking the jacket at all. Horrible pattern and fit to my eye, surprised it has gotten so much love here.

Is it an army jacket? Can't really see what the print looks like, it's really cool he matched it to his shoes..

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:40 AM) :

I like the boots, and while I can't get away with pants like that, he's putting them to work here. The new school camo though, ugh. Never been a fan.

Great pic...well, all of them. Italians are great too, but those boots are designed in Spain baby, you'll find them in Zara S/S 2011.
All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:25 AM) :

I don't like it-he looks like a poser. It's too "pristine" and costume-y. Kind of like wearing a biker jacket and not riding motorcycles or wearing a flight jacket and not flying planes.

Blogger A Bonfire of the Vanities said ... (8:37 AM) :

Extremely cool with a look of effortlessness. The coat is brilliant. Great shoes too.

There is something a little comical about how geared-up some Italian men get for the mild winter. I hope he's carrying snow chains for his Vespa.

Well done.

Italian men are the best, goodlooking, goodressed..
French women are the most sophisticated ones, feminine, bourjeois, something poetic about them...
English women are dreaming about being french...
New-yorkers are kind of mix, you find there everything, it is the freedom to be whoever you want...
