I do like this unique look. He wears it well with classy written all over it.
Exquisite, the color palette and the details in the first picture are very refined. Inspiring, even for women.
I like the detail on the first coat!
He's got great style - and a fine selection of overcoats!
Actually he is ultra chic mostly because he's extremely handsome. People like him look great wearing almost everything.
beautiful. smile.

Sartorialist, I just read your biography and it amazed me - you are such an inspiration to me, I have so much respect for you and look foward to your blog everyday.

This echoes the earlier conversation about sleeve length. I like a shorter sleeve length on a coat - male or female. But then, the folded-over caftan sleeve doesn't seem right to me. And it starts to billow out under the coat sleeve.
This is also common when the under garment is a knit and the outer garment is a woven - the shorter outer garment then exposes too much of the underlying sleeve and it looks awkward.
He is avoiding it in these pix - but just barely. He is so pulled-together looking that it doesn't matter for the photos. He just looks great.
How do others feel about this?
I really like the protruding sleeves in the first photo.
Thanks for the arrow cupid! I love him!
The only thing he's missing is a cigar. Thank you for your continual commitment to beauty.
Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm loving the details of the cuff. He wears it well.
I just love that he understands to mix and match elegant garments with the rugged texture of the overcoat.
what a handsome man!!

Yes, please tell us who this beautiful man is..Robert WHO!
Kaftans are one of those timeless traditional garments that look amazing on both men and women!
The gentleman wears it really nicely, I'd like to see his summer way of wearing it :)
The detail the kaftan and it trimmings bring to this look feels like it could be picked up in a few seasons, like a moving on from the folk trends.
Really inspiring!!
Love your blog for that!
very romantic
I like how it peaks out, and matches the others colors in the outfit. Very classy.
My Heart Blogged
I absolutely LOVE the camel colours in the first picture. Robert is always so stylish. But I can't help thinking he'd be so drop dead gorgeous if he just had a shave!
Robert Rabensteiner, always impressive! I'm curious to know what shoes he's wearing in those pictures

i, personally, would much rather be lounging in a caftan and planning a brunch.... but he looks unique and quite dapper...

Love his coats. I like the details of the caftans. Amazing.

Ceci me fait penser fortement du Maroc! Genial!
So many iPhones!! Ha I wonder if you have seen any rooms where every single person is there phone. I wouldn't be surprised. But seriously great photo. He reminds me of someone.
What a stunning man, he makes these clothes look awesome! Great combination...
I just adore Robert and his unique sense of style. I am a big fan too!!! He just works it!
Istanbulboy
Bohemian, mysterious, and totally convincing.
His lack of accessories is part of the style he has created for himself. No hat, scarf, shades, and thankfully no cigar;), only his Hemingway style beard.
It ads to the impression of an adventurous gentleman. As if he were saved from a shipwreck - and given the captain's best coat.
fashion week means a lot of posts on this blog! i love it~
A fantastic combination individual yet sophisticated. He is very intriguing
i hope i look as handsome as he does at that age.
He reminds me of a Russian Czar in that caftan (he kinda looks Russian with that beard too), by the way, its pronounced the same in Russian.
Very chic!
Renaissance gentleman in the first pic. Love the shirt.
Very Chic Robert and keep the beard (even in summer).
A friend who lived in Paris says the Parisiennes don't like bright colours in clothes and mainly wear black. Can this be true?
Very handsome gentleman!
These men are so cool :)
beautiful chaos
One needs a mix of chutzpah and nonchalance to carry off this unusual though immensely elegant look...Robert surely has them both!!
so classy and cool :)
beautiful man!
The trio of Caftan,Coat and Paris is just perfect. And the smile makes it more adorable.
Not totally convinced, but... unique for sure, and I love his attitude.
http://www.isthisitmodelsreview.com/
I agree with Mens Cufflinks.....His smile makes me smile and I LOVE that beard!
yeah, it is so chic and original to mix caftans with classic coat <3
Please forgive me for my ignorance, but he is Robert WHO???
Anyway, he is a very stylish gentleman and an inspiration for everybody.
Seems, like he is from another century. Only his IPhone remembers of today`s world !
Awesome!

I love this combo! I would have never thought of that on my own.

Very elegant
wow! who is he?
This man and his style is gorgeous. Always stylish, never too rich with a huge portion of life experience. I can wear these things directly. Where can i find a kaftan like that ?
Are you kidding me with that beautiful, artful beard! How handsome...wish more men had beards...
Kind of Nineteenth a century spirit, very elegant.
Caftans and overcoats? How interesting!

Perfection... always.
http://thereddlemansblog.blogspot.com/
Who is he and where can I find him? Gorgeous.
love the top photo. inspiring
he looks totally different from my grandpa but in someway and somehow, he reminds me of my grandpa. The vibe.
Great photo
on another note, ilove the quote.
This is not a Caftan, this is a Jabador... A caftan is a traditional Moroccan dress for women;)
only 2 words: stylish and handsome! damn handsome:)
Gorgeous!! But this is not Caftan. This is a Jellaba. I know as i am in Morroco and that is what most men wear a coat.
clever!
j'adore!
I LOVE ROBERT! He's one inspirational man.
I love the details in the first image, it adds such an interesting element to it.
so handsome! Love his style!
Just an awesome guy. He appears to be such a wise person.
A great simple look - yet difficult to put together.
it comes with no thought. If it did it would be overdone. ox
Being knee length, and worn by a man, would this rather be designated a kurta? Perhaps I am mistaken but I thought caftan/kaftan were worn primarily by women and always are ankle length.
Adore this man and his style. On my website I have a category called 'progress chic' that describes something that references the past but is thoroughly modern. I can't think of a better example than Robert's caftan/coat combo.
Interesting and nice mix....
