A gorgeous shot Scott. The morning light is so lovely in Florence and I love the street traffic, bicycle wise, thrown in with the man in the forefront wearing his very stylish ensemble. He looks familiar, one of your regulars?

Anonymous Marisa said ... (1:40 PM) :

Wow! The shadows moving forward, the muted, mauve lighting and that great scarf. I love the surprise element in the outfits of the people you select. A man who looks professorial, like this gentleman, would never be expected to be wearing such an outrageous scarf and yet he is.

Anonymous MBerry said ... (2:04 PM) :

I can't believe this! This small road is the one that I lived on while studied abroad in Florence. And what a beautiful photo! How I miss it.

Blogger Arthurs House said ... (2:14 PM) :

Wow, thanks for taking me to Florence today Scott. I can almost feel the sun on my face.

Be well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:14 PM) :

Love the plaid man from Milan and the colorful girl from Seoul, but please give us some more New York! I want to see examples of New Yorkers successfully dressing themselves for winter--attempting to maintain visual interest while still dressing practically for these frigid temperatures. Plus, I find it's harder to be visually interesting in February than in December when winter has just begun and you haven't exhausted all wardrobe possibilities. So let's see some of those people that are still doing it well.

I love, love, love it when a man takes the care to look nice and he still looks masculine and as if he spent less time in the mirror than I did.

If were a part of this scene I would so be looking and admiring this man.

Very interesting way of tucking the long scarf inside the buttoned jacket. It looks almost like a scarf (akin to those on the Trajan column).

I love the composition of the picture, the lights and the shadows are great. I also love the way the man on the left is wearing. His attitude is casual but very elegant.

Blogger SORDESCO said ... (7:26 PM) :

diggin' the outfit but more importantly, this is a gorgeous photograph. the light, shadows, bikes, everything...

Blogger Kristen said ... (8:05 PM) :

This is a gorgeous shot, Sartorialist! I love the lighting in it, and the slight lense flare. Gorgeous. With bicycles. Love it.

I love how he's tucked in his scarf. I've seen women belt long scarves before, which is also awesome; this seems a little like a masculine counterpart to that idea.

I always love men in scarves. More men need to realize their necks are cold. It looks great, and it's so simple.

Anonymous jdit said ... (8:48 PM) :

I walk the line...Very cool, very focused, very very cool. The man is cool, the sun is the star(sic).
