Classic shot. I love his scarf too!
A gorgeous shot Scott. The morning light is so lovely in Florence and I love the street traffic, bicycle wise, thrown in with the man in the forefront wearing his very stylish ensemble. He looks familiar, one of your regulars?
Great composition! The light in this photo is absolutely beautiful -- looks like it's lighting up the man's feet as he's walking.

oh...the italian boys...
What a great shot! I love the details of this man's outfit-- the scarf protruding from the bottom of his jacket, the pocket square, and the cuffed trousers.. effortless and so perfect!
http://lizalooblog.blogspot.com
amazig shot!
that is stylish, even if a little bulky. i have only seen scarves worn with such length previously by women so it is nice that he feels comfortable enough to grace this look.
great shot!

Makes me want to be in Florence, right now! Wonderful photography, as usual, Scott.

How stylish is this gentleman? Loving the scarf arrangement!
amazing shadows

Love this picture! Has a great light and atmosphere. Very interesting way of wearing a scarf, by the way. Relaxed yet classy. Great picture, in a nutshell.
Wow! The shadows moving forward, the muted, mauve lighting and that great scarf. I love the surprise element in the outfits of the people you select. A man who looks professorial, like this gentleman, would never be expected to be wearing such an outrageous scarf and yet he is.
I can't believe this! This small road is the one that I lived on while studied abroad in Florence. And what a beautiful photo! How I miss it.
My all-time favourite. Great work Scott!
Wow, thanks for taking me to Florence today Scott. I can almost feel the sun on my face.
Be well.
Love the plaid man from Milan and the colorful girl from Seoul, but please give us some more New York! I want to see examples of New Yorkers successfully dressing themselves for winter--attempting to maintain visual interest while still dressing practically for these frigid temperatures. Plus, I find it's harder to be visually interesting in February than in December when winter has just begun and you haven't exhausted all wardrobe possibilities. So let's see some of those people that are still doing it well.
beautiful pic !
Beautiful picture. The lighting is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoy looking through all of your pictures.
very romantic picture :)
perfect shot!

Morning light is the best light.
Perfect shot, Scott.
The evening sun, what a nice moment to catch! Beautiful feeling in this pic!
So beautiful..
I don't understand why he has his scarf tucked in the way he does, it doesn't look comfortable
I love ths shadows and I love you Scott!
the light the shadows and that guy with beard--stunning.

beautiful shot
I love, love, love it when a man takes the care to look nice and he still looks masculine and as if he spent less time in the mirror than I did.
If were a part of this scene I would so be looking and admiring this man.
hey, what happened to this guy's bike?

Gorgeous lighting in this shot. Is this early morning or early evening?
Very interesting way of tucking the long scarf inside the buttoned jacket. It looks almost like a scarf (akin to those on the Trajan column).

The lighting in the photo is beautiful.

Captivating.
love the light on these pictures :)
great photo, but the walking man will soon pop off the jacket button.
I love the composition of the picture, the lights and the shadows are great. I also love the way the man on the left is wearing. His attitude is casual but very elegant.
diggin' the outfit but more importantly, this is a gorgeous photograph. the light, shadows, bikes, everything...
This is a gorgeous shot, Sartorialist! I love the lighting in it, and the slight lense flare. Gorgeous. With bicycles. Love it.
I love how he's tucked in his scarf. I've seen women belt long scarves before, which is also awesome; this seems a little like a masculine counterpart to that idea.
I always love men in scarves. More men need to realize their necks are cold. It looks great, and it's so simple.
I walk the line...Very cool, very focused, very very cool. The man is cool, the sun is the star(sic).
Aww I love this. I lived on this street one summer when I lived in Florence.
Loving the lighting.
he has undeniable class.
Oh, I love this! I think this is my favorite of your photos....ever. (c: Thank you for the sunshine.
stunning shot.. just freezes the moment with glorious light.
i love how winter sun makes everything look so warm and cold at the same time.
You make me want to dress nicer. Thank you.

What's with all the "americans" in Milan? Such oversized outerwear! (I like it. Much more distinguished than the shrunken look.)
YES!
love the shadows and shine around the figures, gorgeous pictures.

one of the most beautiful images I have seen recently
by far one of may fav photos you've taken....i would love to embrace the power of the sun that day.
Love the blog,Ive been reading for about 6 months now, I'm hooked. I particularly love this kind of shot. Your work makes me think of Henry Cartier-Bresson's photography, the same feeling of capturing a beautiful, perhaps un-noticed moment.
Pretty shot!

Italian men wear clothes, they don't wear them. Love it!
Love the beautiful Italian light! Grazi mille!
I adore this photo. The light is amazing and the figures are full of so much subtle joy.
He looks so deep in thought...
your work will find its true value in a century. and it will be precious.
