This outfit seems to be a futuristic menswear inspired look. I love the shoes and the large clutch.

The crispiness and sheer quality of the garments torments me on the elegence that is showcased so perfectly; The structure of the pants are quite incredible; a question of structure to comprehend for a mind...Captivating. X Neda X

Great pants.
This
margiela pants?
Incredible. Easily one my favorite photographs of yours.
beautiful textures and layers, and the lighting is gorgeous as usual!

This styling is so seemingly architectural. The hard edge between the pant and the jacket, the sloping yet squared belt, and the platform shoes ... all look like the beginnings of a great building. I love it.
this outfit seems to be defying gravity... how are her pants staying up? it looks very uncomfortable, but love her purse and her top.
love the clutch...
what do you think about my new pair of earrings?

What a skillful play with volumes! Love the Margiela pants.

love the blue theme in london right now, especially with the dash of red on her lips
I like her trousers. I have only of late come to appreciate trousers.

This woman is tres chic, but there's something too dark about her. I love seeing people with something light and happy.... that's what make them and their outfit attractive to me.
Enjoy your day!

This outfit is absolutely stunning, i'm head over heals for it. gorgeous

Margiela pants?
I like conceptual fashion.

Wow...this is gorgeous. The blues and greys, with the paleness of her skin create a striking palette. It reminds me of "London fog." Beautiful photograph!

Big pant !!!
I am intrigued by her pants, which are too big. That gap on the left side amuses me, though I really can't understand how her pants are staying up sans a belt! Nonetheless, that shift with the sweeping fabric is amazing.
I Love the photo! And I love the outfit too!

just.. Woh..
What is this look?? anti-fit...frumpy-chic...I don't really get it but she's looking very good!
She has stunning facial expressions, and the movement in her outfit itself is amazing. Her face and clothes as a whole makes me feel that sheis hiding something, maybe a rebellion or something allong those lines. Such a cool photo!

what is going on with the waistline of these pants??
Glamorous! But, I'm just wondering how the heck she keeps the pants up.
Martin Margiela catwalk trousers on the street??? I never thought I would live to see that.GREAT!!!
Outstanding shot! Love the look, especially the thickness of the leather waistband.

Interesting that with-the-city-camouflage look:Blue/Grey = London
perfect proportions and architecture here in this look. wish i had that clutch, it is divine. great capture!
http://dallianceswithsuitsandskirts.blogspot.com/
Not sure I am feeling the oversized belt and oversized pants combo, though overall this is a great idea.
she looks gangsta! love it
Why does her waistband look like it's protruding away from her body? I love the cut and drape of the pants though!
loveeeee it!

how is this even working?? its like mc escher fashion.
how hot is that huge waist line of the pant...lol..i love

One of your best photographed outfits.
she manages the margiela trousers very well.
that's really something cool
a slight throwback to the victorian age.
great !
lovee the color and the shape of her blouse!
Very cute, but seemingly impractical.
At first this photo confused me to no end, then I realized what pants she had on. ;)

Gorgeous, but me thinks her pants are a tad too big for her! But hell she can totally get away with it being tall and svelte, you could wear a paper bag and look glamorous!
Wow! I really don't understand how those pants are on her, but she looks damn awesome.
Ruhvana
wow!! very cute!!!.))
2 Dimension seems to be on vogue, very sharp pieces in this outfit.

absolutely stunning style.

After the boyfriend jeans..papa pants. Very avant garde!
she looks so sophisticated and high-class!
I love the colors together and the large oversized pants with the flowy pure light top is amazing! The clutch is just beautiful!
I love how you can see the scale of how oversized these trousers are, great photo!
http://cestclassique.blogspot.com
I agree with the last comment about seeing Margiela on the street. These conceptual ideas are sometimes so crazy you'd never think you would see an actual real person wearing any of it. But how exciting that here she is in all her reality standing on the sidewalk in a pair of trompe l'oeil trousers, and, red lipstick to give it a bit of life in that gray London air.
Amazingly elegant in a easy way.. Just how you want to do it!
I love everything about this look.
Her look is about draping.

I really like what she did with that belt. Interesting shapes!
www.theunemployedstylist.blogspot.com
Sart, what on earth is happening with the waistband of her pants? Fashion has to serve some function, doesn't it?--especially street style, I would think.
I do love the rest of the outfit, though, especially the feminine blouse contrasted with what looks like a tux cummerbund, and the angle at which it is worn.
I love this look. Especially the high waist pants and the coat.
Um never mind about the first part of my last comment. I just looked up the pants and found that there's an inner elastic waistband. Genius!
Maison Martin Margiela at his best example !
like the sash-like wide belt...and the palazzo pants and the platforms!
I want the same clutch !
Lovely - the trousers are so elegant. What's going on with the waist band though? I can't quite work it out..
i love this oversized look! im not able to pull it off without looking frumpy, but she looks fantastic.
ps- im offering my very first giveaway! you can enter here:

Beautiful.
Those are the MMM pants in action!
Those blue trousers are so elegant. The blouse is sophisticated too.

much love.
London... She looks fantastic!
she's so on trend with her menswear inspired outfit! did anyone see the Paul Smith collection a few days ago? all borrowed from the boys. i did a quick review on it if you want to see a few looks.
http://streetnumbereight.blogspot.com/2011/02/boy-envy.html
PS. her pants = unbelievable, but I've lived in London and who tell me WHO can walk around in platforms that high??!! i've never seen it IRL. Sartorialist, you are luckier than I in finding the fabulously-shodded :)
very stylish, but quite menrepelling, but whetever !
Avant-garde!!
love the oversized pants with the trench!!
http://lacingup.blogspot.com/
I saw on this day and she is so beautiful. She is ACTUALLY like this photograph. I am surprised scotty didn't pap her from behind as the slits going down the back of the trouser leg are one of the best bits of the look
lovely hues
this is amaing love your site check out www.curlcrave.com thats pretty cool!
Thank you for what you have been doing, so that I am able to meet these all great people around the world through your magnificent photos !
The background fits the photo so perfectly. Dark and dreary, yet somehow optimistic. Xo Valerie
www.imstarvin.blogspot.com
what a perfection, i'm lost for words!
Love how her pants are almost the exact same colour as the wall in the background!
lapetiteprincesseb.blogspot.com
Love the gigantic pants and, dare I say, cumberbun?
What is she hiding in those pants?
so happy to see these Margiela pants worn off the runway, and she actually pulls them off! Amazing!
Love the proportions, very demure and sexy at the same time!
Magnífico. Me encanta!!
Give me back my pants!
She really executes those Margiela pants well; they appear so wearable! The simplicity of her makeup and the cool colors of her ensemble keep this look sophisticated and not over-the-top. I love the way the hue of the trousers corresponds with the background of the photo. Great composition!
The pulling on the pants did it for me!
http://iwantyourlook.blogspot.com/
The colors. Her hair. Her lips. Her pants.
Everything in this photograph seems to flow naturally together.
It's more like a work of art than anything else.

I'm with comment #3 - the outfit is confusing, i.e. what's this around her midriff? a belt? how do the trousers manage to stand out at her hips? and the length... how can she walk? but apart from these very mundane thoughts she - and the picture - is absolutely stunning.
Love the pants super rad
www.therealpartyoverhair.blogspot.com
She is like my wonderful 1940s French looking beauty, even though she is British. Studding pants, I wonder how she keeps them up?
Wow, she is brave. That is some outfit. The pants, the wonderful blouse, the big belt, the shoes. All of it over the top and yet... not. She did a great job.
nice color fit.
mark thuesen
I love the proportions.

Great photos..love the 2nd and the 4th one!

Fashion Steele NYC
This is quite confusing to look at haha there are some nice things going on though
Her scarf-like blouse and the background building's moody blue make this photo. Of course her alabaster skin & sleek black hair work too.
Any idea how her pants are staying on?
I love the proportions here!
La Petite Marmoset
I love the slightly blown out of proportion, demure colour palette, and nonchalance of the whole look.
http://muushmush.blogspot.com/
Beautiful colours and composition. I love how you have framed the picture. It is really rather poetic!
Vanessa
I have been thinking about this image ALL DAY. It is incredible. Her body, in this clothing, is like a sculpture, and the proportions and alignment of her parts (left hip, shoulders, face, chest -length of chest, oh my goodness!) are so challenging. Whenever I focus on anything other than her right eye my mind goes into a spin trying to align her into a conventional shape.
Thank you. Amazing.
Wonderful blouse!
Wow! What a stylish photograph! I love the cool blue effect in the photograph. Does anyone know how he creates this feel?
Is achieved with filters on the camera or post capture on photoshop?
Would love some help.
http://www.sartorialistanbul34.blogspot.com/
Nice photo Scott. It really depicts the atmosphere in London last week. And to people who are curious about the trousers from Margiela. There is an elastic waistband inside, keeping them on place, so no, they are not too big.
Beautiful colours!
http://slackandlack.blogspot.com/
very classy outfit. love it
Great clutch!!
she is actually swedish! her blog: fashionsphere/modette.se
i am so delightfully confused.....that's magical
HOT HOT HOT her face says yyyeeeaahh I Know lol.
www.copperetiquette.wordpress.com
Perfection.
The subtle blend of blue and gray, did not succumb to the dark cloud with the white scarf.. Great to see somebody on the street with such silent sophistication
Love it!!
Xx
Great!
http://hereandnovv.blogspot.com
so men...
I go to lectures every day in that building behind her and the one week I have off where I don't go down there, Scott Schuman is outside my university taking photos and I don't get to get an autograph. Just my sodding luck.... People don't ususally dress this well outside along the Strand, London Fashion Week makes every dress up in the street fashion equivalent of their Sunday best. I'm pretty sure there were people doing laps there today though, not going into any building there, hoping to get their photo here. Love the blog x
Not sure if anyone has passed this on yet - Josefin, the girl in the picture has a blog - http://nyheter24.se/modette/fashionsphere
chic!
i'm troubled by her pants. seriously troubled.
I'd love to see a whole series of Blue London shots. Gorgeous hues-a truly beautiful shot.
I would so rock this!
Those outsize deconstructed trousers are quite simply killing me. She looks great.
The blouse is so beautiful that it is hurting me and I am not kidding.
just perfect
http://coolpoolstyle.blogspot.com/
im confused - what is going on with the waist line of the trousers? it looks like they are suspended on the left 6 inches away from her hip... hmmmm.
with no belt - its an accident waiting to happen!
Haha!
the epitome of elegance from head to toe, including hair & make-up.
I like what she's wearing and it's also weird because the pants by her hand on her right side look way to big and gappy, and it looks like she has a cummerbund on that's slipping right off!
Love Martin Margeila. Love her look too. You can't help but want to know who she is.
She looks so elegant and I understand the whole masculine thing, but those trousers need to be nipped in, apart from that she rocks!
I love this look. Its very me. But I wonder where the waistband of her pants start and end...? Love the shawl like top, hmmm think I can get the same effect with a white pashmina cross tucked with a white tee underneath. Very simple outfit, but made interesting with texture. Love it, thank you for this photo.
I love this look- pure white ruffles and ruffles of femininity peeking out of a sharp masculine grey suit with big belt has a tongue in cheek balance that hits a nice spot:)
