I LOVE this!
I love the different unexpected lengths, and those boots are amazing.

I love the interplay of the slouchy hat and the boots. Nice legs too!
Oh wow! I love the boots and jummber so cute.

Meravigliosa. Wonderful.
I love how she raises her heels up to 'vision' :)
Casual and cool.
She has some attractive calves. She's attractive overall, but her calves stood out when I gave her the once-over.
love the hat
What a great look for a wintry day.

The polar opposite of ADR! A revolution!
Lovely look. Warm and edgy!
love the hat!
it's the year of the ankle.
certainly seems to be the new focal point, from cropped trousers with brightly coloured socks and interesting footwear.
it's an early 80's late 70's look.
i would tend to pair these boots with something more substantial, like woolen leggings or something equally textured, rather than a bare leg.
Gorgeous shot Scott..
Her over sized jumper is fantastic.

Hugs from Australia and will see you at New York Fashion Week

Love her hat and boots!! A little masculine and little feminine. A little comfort with a little skin and heels. LOVE!!!
Love that jumper! And the look is great!
Don't forget to see the new spotted FENDI PEEK A BOO handbag that everyone is wearing:

Spotted: Margherita Biscaretti di Ruffìa!
Brown & black + purple : a very modern colour palette. There is something interesting about the "oversized" silhouette (shoulders too wide, long jersey, long sleeves with hands half hidden) in that it remains a thin, vertical silhouette: over-sizing often gives a large silhouette (almost by definition).
The shoes look like a higher version of the large ankles shoes which have been popular for quite sometime.

Her boots are beautiful, the perfect color of brown to connect with her hat and sweater, but just looking at her bare legs in Italy in January makes me feel cold!
wow.. very defined calves! I love the colour of her scarf against everything.
Love that look of confidence more than the outfit! Wonder who she is waiting for?
Those boots rock!!!!!!!
Look at that calf muscle on her--I want THAT!
Great attitude, great boots!

Such a beautiful picture. Such a great hat!
great boots, I'm really loving the scarf as well.
See now that is a lush look. Great legs !! Oh and love the hat and boots :)
the hat/scarf/boot combo go with pretty much anything.
i love these pieces.
especially that hat.
love the boots!
I love the fact that women wear hats again, it is so elegant. And I love the way that this young lady turns her look in a casual, comfy and chic way.
The hat makes the "look" and the scarf pulls the colors together. Love the bare legs (it's a European thing that I do too). Oh yes, I DID notice how her scarf color matches the trim on the vehicle behind her....so you so nuanced. Another great photo.
Love this xx
gorgeous shot
i love her style, her attitude, and the way she matched everything to compose such a great-proportioned look !
I absolutely love her outfit!!
I am a hat addict this look is amazing. perfect for this cloudy days :)

she has a good style.
amazing style...I love the pic
Awesome oversize sweater and pleated skirt combo. So refreshing to look at.
So unexpected! In theory, this would look awful. But it works here, and it's distinctly her style. Something only she could pull off, in a sense.
Excellent get up!
Love the hat, skirt and boots.
Great balance of colors and natural finesse!

Love the scarf and boots! Two of my fashion staples at the moment :)

Love the brown tones!
Gorgeous. I love the lengths of the jumper and skirt, it shouldn't work but it does. Beautiful slouch boots too.
www.styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com
the subtle peep of scultped calf and the feminine slouch boots combined with the warm over-sized sweater are great contrasts that complement one another well. also love the proportion of the boots with the skirt length.
http://dallianceswithsuitsandskirts.blogspot.com/
I like the big hat with the short skirt.
Sophia hated waiting. Today especially, she was chilly; even though she had a thick sweater from her boyfriend's closet, it wasn't quite enough to keep her warm. Plus, it never occured to her wear boots with tights... and the hat, not for warmth, but for fashion.
But she hated waiting...
http://violetsdayblog.blogspot.com/
I want that hat. Do I have to go to Italy to get it? Has anyone seen one online?
Lovely, individual, feminine but strong, sexy legs and hat with balls..
what a mix, I LOVE IT!
I love this pic ;))

Love the muted colour palette, she looks great in such a casual, understated way.

i just love your street photography of beautiful people. i am new to your blog and have only found you a couple of weeks ago, and after reading your bio i am smiling that you are/were a Hoosier country boy! Blessings to you!
OMG, I think I've just found my new favourite boots!
I love this look. So casual and relaxed as if she just flung on something to pop outside quickly (not likely though).
I can't quite puzzle out the season, she's wrapped warmly as though it is autumn, but the bare legs say summer...
Very chic!

hat and boots, love it!
She has true grit!
Not a fan of the boots. Otherwise, interesting outfit this girl chose.

love the colours of this outfit :)
Love the hat and boots! Neo-cowboy, perhaps?

A stunning moment in time captured.
she looks like from the movie. Adore her comfortable outfit:)
Fabulous photo and the fedora is great!
Love this photo! Cute boots!
http://vi-vant.blogspot.com/
This is how heeled boots should be worn. The outfit just wouldn't be the same without them. Heels for the sake of heels are a mistake, I think.
look at those calves, wow. great outfit.
her legs are a little too naked to be true.
I love the sweater and the boots!
A hug ^^
Great photo!
Love the hat
http://kimchicsisters.blogspot.com/2011/01/snow-homemade-waffles.html
she looks so cool!!!
I love pretty much everything abou thtis outfit, except maybe the skirt. There's nothing wrong with the skirt in itself, but with such a big sweater, perhaps something a little more tailored would have worked better. But this does work very nicely, too.
I think the boots are great. I love different kinds of boots; today, I was out looking at boots that aren't snowboots, and everything just seems done to death. but these are fun, beacuse they're all scrunched down.
I wish I could wear a hat like that. Maybe I can. Not really sure... but I really love it on her.
The feeling of her outfit, the look on her face, how she's gazing off out of the frame, almost feels like you could photoshop her into the Australian outback or some adventure movie.
i love the boots!
awesome outfit
xx

On her toes and in high heeled boots?...Somebody hold me. The way she has folded her arms it looks like that sumptuous sweater is hugging her. With legs like that I'd let her run me down and win every time. Beautiful poise and her focused gaze, I have to know who or what's down that street...
Mmmmmm cozy, yet sexy--doesn't usually exist together.
Help me I'm American, would a jumper be equivalent to a pullover?
Interesting. It's amazing what posture and a little 'something' can do... the proportions and her outfit are not quite right (or even flattering) but she manages to pull it off.
the boots make this and that hat is an anomaly. i kinda hate it... but dig the look as a whole.
http://ren-uh-zahns.blogpost.com
What an awesome composition and the color brown is fantastic!
www.greeneggsandglam.blogspot.com
LESS IS MORE. She is wearing many simple pieces, but together, it rocks
channeling some True Grit. tres chic.
Super photo..textures and colors are fabulous...ty....L
She reminds me of true grit!
www.LaPetiteMarmoset.com
The skirt is too short and or too loose for the look to work.
Everything else is fabulous.
A very unique style. Love the boots!
http://theythinkimtooyoung.blogspot.com
Haha, I do this too! Use the hair to cover my ears and keep them warm, secured by a hat from the top and scarf from the bottom! lol
This is so sensual and mysterious. However, the slouch in her boots make her seem approachable and playful. Love this beautifully hodge-podge, straight cut and pristine outfit...

I love a women in an oversized sweater but let's face it, not everyone can pull it off. This beautiful creature illustrates how this look can be successfully worn.
And oh, what man can can't appreciate a great pair of legs!
So nice, so lovely
I spy a very muscular calf.
I love her stoic stance.
Those boots are awesome...I love her stoic stance.
Wow, I love the way she makes a simple brown sweater, so stylish!
This look is not about cuts of skirts. It's a great look all her own.
Ugly composition.
There's something quite rural about this look - I really like it!
love this style
a modern "True Grit"
Every woman should own at least one man's hat.
This is probably one of the most fantastic put-togethers that I've seen in a while .. ohhh!! .. And the natural lighting is perfect.
I really, really like this.
:) Rach
Warm,sexy and totally confident...all you need !
She reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe with fancy boots. Love it!
Like the combination of cardigan &skirt!
love the oversize sweater! Great pic, congrats!

Like the last photo, this is a hot mess. Sorry!
this outfit is sensational! classy in a nonconventional manner.
bare legs? brrrr! But she looks great!
To Marisa: Bare legs are not a European thing.
I would say bare legs look vulgar in winter, the colour of the jumper reminds me nasty mud, scarf uninteresting. I clicked on the comments just to view what others think...shocked...:) Anyway, if she puts on different boots, she could easily pass for a potato field worker in Central Europe.
I like her outfit :)
http://marquicee.blogspot.com/
wonderful! but nakes legs? brr..
http://whyisaravenlikeawriting-desk.blogspot.com/
You take great pictures. I'm sure you read that all the time but just thought I'd add to it. Love this one especially. I think it's great how you just go over to peole and take their picture. You are brave. I'd be scared they'd tell me to...you know what!
Love the mix of men's and women's clothing. Great textures too
just to contrast the homogeneous moaning of support, I think you start to lose the mojo here and there in your blog.
For example, I struggle with perceiving what's noticeable in the taste combination attitude of the lady here. On the other side too often in your blog the happy few of the fashion world are portrayed (it's a disease, it's called annadellorussitis in its milder form, syndrome of roytfeld-jacobs in the worse one).
The authentic inspiration comes from the combination of the street, broadly defined, and authentic, individual taste.
Eja, eja, alala".

Amazing! Love her sweater, hat and boots combination, the way her scarf matches her skirt, but especially the way she pulls it off - her attitude :] Great pic!
Those boots! So beautiful!
Looks good, especially the boots!

that hat !

I find the naysayers hilariously snooty. The magic about so many of the people you capture is an insouciant casualness, a person caught not having constructed a look with every element nailed down. That's when I love your site best. I think it is here. She looks like she threw on that sweater to stay warm while waiting for a belated someone loved to arrive (maybe the real owner of that sweater). "Potato farmer", indeed. I bet you might just find a farmer with quite a flair; the Sartorialist finds such all the time...
I love this combination, mostly because I haven't seen it for awhile. The pointy boots, the brown sweater (oversized) and the blue skirt, (daring color combo) make it fresh. But without the scarf tightly woven around her neck and her hat, it would look eastern European potato worker. She takes such ordinary ideas and then twists them all.
Love the combination of milk-chocolate brown and navy; also the scarf tied over the hair.
~Flaneuse in DC
Very nice...what a great van in the background toos.
Love the boots and the blue/brown combination. You have great fashion picks on this blog. Love the see some jewelry here as well.

Ah, that jumper is jusr perfect for this eather!
Yes! I have one of these hats and I absolutely love it...but haven't yet worn it. I'm kind of stuck on how to pull it off. Thanks for the inspiration.

looks like she just stepped out of a movie!
http://tarasdolcevita.blogspot.com/
Great outfit!
she looks very sexy! and im sure that this jumper belongs to a handson man...
looks cool but her legs look cold!
She have good legs, but her clothes hide her body and that is not good.
More funny than a fashion!
Love the outfit!
xo thefashionguitar
It is so True Grit... dressed by the Coens, and shot by Scott Schuman :)
she tip toed..cute photo :)
Bellissima.
Great subtlety—slightly standing on the toes of those boots.
she did step out of a movie.
hat

= anna karina
= bande à part
most probably self-consciously
I don't understand how so many women are getting away with 'no tights' in January! Now that is fashion over comfort. Absolutely love this photo.
I hate it when 'effortless' looks so done-up, but this attitude with killer boots and an oversized sweater is TRULY effortless! xxx
What a look !! You feel like she just put on some clothes on before rushing outside...
But those boots kill me and what should I say about her hat...It makes me think of the masterpiece recently designed by APC!!
I spy dancer legs!
good!
Very Last Tango, no?!!
Talk about Spaggetti Western. She is friggin' awesome.
