loving all the layers.
Awesome coat!

What a unique mix! The light is pretty in this photo. Very soft.
Very original...!!

loving his jacket!

talk about layers galore! Love the tweed jacket and how his colorful cuffs peak out. Thank you Scott!
Fantastic jacket- I love the use of layers and the mix of colours.

Now that's a good look.
this reminds me of photos of my dad when he was younger in korea in the 70s...
I'm SO excited to see your Seoul series. I'm from Seoul, but living in the US, so your images make me extremely homesick. Seoul's a great fashion city, although it's eclipsed by other Asian powerhouses like Tokyo. Thanks for posting these!!
Oh wow, I like his layering. It took me a minute to realize that he's wearing a blazer underneath the vest. The peaks of color are working for me!!
i love the use of colours and layering.
loving the layers! the color scheme is perfect!

aaahhhh...me like! :)
Very creative and he looks great!
I like it. How is it that you find such fashionable people?
http://unlimitedbyjk.blogspot.com/
love the different textures and colors in the layers. and despite the multiple layers - it doesn't look bulky or too busy, lovely.
wow! layers upon layers upon layers..love how it didn't make him look bulky.
Love the exposure together with the depth of field in this shot.
oooh! is he wearing a winter/snow vest over a blazer??? LOVE it :))
xo.

Love how sunny this photo is :D
Layers upon Layers! Reminds me of the Friends episode where Joey puts on all of Chandlers clothes to piss him off! LOL
Love the colors!
A western cowboyesk look in South Korea. Wonderful photo!
http://everdaymasterpiece.blogspot.com/
layered up! hmm like his blazer..underneath
Stylin' dude. Nice bokeh, too.
Love the tailored look, layers, different textures. I think you captured the quintessential men's fashion in modern korea.
It has something, but it's too complecated also. ~
Nice pic ;)

I like how it's crisp and smart but layered and complex at the same time.
This reminds me of what Michael Cera might look like in Korea.
I can see why you were drawn to him. Bright red sweater, the "business blue" shirt, and what is that little bit of green at his collar, great colors that could easily be overlooked, the warm vest atop the sportcoat, feel like Issey Miyake choices. He looks very sure of himself and comfortable with his sartorial choices and isn't that what it's all about?
I think if you took all of these pieces and separated them and told someone to put them on, you would certainly get push back but this is working for him...thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Wow, the layering here is incredible!
that vest is epic!
great style.
jimjims.net/
He's wearing a lot of shirts!! His neck is full of different colours! But he has style!! I love your blog!!
www.tinynicethings.blogspot.com
Salut!
Why asian people only have these incredible sense of style that makes originality look even more great (or sometimes worse)???
I should take example on them..
OH! AMAZING OUTFIT! I really like it!
The vest looks 1970s vintage...remember the two-tone jackets?
Makes me want to go to Korea!!
Fabulous!
great match!!
I love how there are layers of colours. Kelly Green, Royal Blue, Red, Beige, Brown and then the Peachy Orange....
Then there is all the peek a boo's

green thing at his collar is a classic paisley ascot, vest looks rather watanabe-ish to me.
really great look.
Whoa.....They got some style over there in South Korea ! ♥
http://www.sprezza2raw.com/
I like the vest but I'm not sure about it over such a seemingly nice tweed blazer. I do like the hints of red.
ITA, great layer combo
Korea guys are killing it , real distinct style very nice mix of classic & irreverent. specially fond of the green bandana round the neck.
It feels warm and I lobe the colors... You can make something really beautiful with these colors.

WOW !!!! This is so COOL ! I just love the whole thing, it fits perfectly well the guy. And I'm amazed by his attitude. This is Fashion. !!!

I like the Look...
nice!
Love his jacket !
This shouldn't work, but it does--something about the proportions, lines, and layering is just right. Very cool.
I like everything except the scarf, he has too much going on around his neck, one too many colors
You've got a great eye! I'm Korean and it's funny because I'm always lamenting about how I rarely see fashionable Korean men with unique style but I may need to reevaluate this now. I heard it's freezing in Korea right now and I see a peek of the snow in the back but this guy is so chill~!
It's so interesting to see how differently fashion bloggers see the people of a culture when they travel there. Facehunter went to Korea awhile ago, but he only captured a certain style of people while there, and I think he missed out on a lot. You, on the other hand, are doing a perfect job of capturing both what you think is interesting along with finding the most interestingly-dressed people of Korea. This is how fashion blogging and photography should be done! Thanks for showing the true style of Korea :) Hope you have an amazing time, and I can't wait to see the rest of your shots!
I like the green bandanna around his neck
Lotta layers! What is that underneath the blue collared shirt?
korea rocks!
Love the layered look always Scott!

I like the color combination and textures- even the slightly cheap-ish vest is a nice touch. I especially enjoy the red peeking out of the tweed sleeves.
It looks like there's a huge shift towards retro fashion in Seoul right now. This reminds me of the late 1960's -70's style of students in Korea/Japan - maybe it's because of the new movie, Norwegian wood?
haikarapaprika.blogspot.com
all items are random and there's so much color but it is not overwhelming. it's very flattering. Koreans definitely have an innate sense of style..
I'm going to Seoul this summer. Hope I can see many fashionable people there.. :)
What's his name? I think I know him! Any background info on the person? :)
The layers with colors is a splendid idea.
I love the colors and the texture of the different layers. It's a mix of comfy, business formal, and preppy all together.
I love seeing fashion from other parts of the world. Looking forward to seeing more.

I like it when you include people of other ethnicities. Tired of looking at white/western individuals.
Loving the Roy Rogers vintage vibe on the vest. It would never occur to me to layer it with these colors showing underneath. And he's wearing the bandana (?) like an ascot! Combined with his hipster hair stylings, he's taken bits from the American style idiom (the bandana and vest) made them his own in a way that really hangs together. Cool guy.
loved that vest over his blazer, really cool!
something wrong with the image quality...
This is one inch away from total tacky. It's being on that edge that makes it interesting. Being from Korea, I identify this with old world peasant look when they couldn't afford to buy anything that matched! Korea, you've come a long way. BTW, it has a unique cultural identity that's different from Japan/China. Sorry, got carried away analyzing. It's only fashion, right?
Great photos. Like the rest of yours! I'm a huge fan. I posted a video of you on my blog. Go and read what I said about you! I would feel honored.
Great post! Thanks for sharing!

do you ask your "victoms" if you can take a picture? Do they know who you are?
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Seoul, Scott, the city which has been my home for the past 15 years. The environs of Dosan Park are one of my stomping grounds and it's not surprising you've found a good number of "meotjaengis" (fashion forward folks) mulling about.
The depth and breadth of appreciation for "style" as opposed to "fashion" here is growing at an exciting pace. Having evolved from being generally oblivious to style, Korean guys, many of whom until not long ago felt more comfortable having their mothers and girlfriends buy their clothes, are now fully aware of how to dress well and aren't bashful about spending money to do so.
For those readers who don't know, Korea is fast emerging from the shadows of her larger neighbors - China and Japan - to take the lead in influencing style and culture in Asia. Truly a dynamic place as Scott is finding out during his time here. I truly hope this is not your last time to visit.
@artfultoddger
Backlit subject with multiple layers...curious photo. Well done.
Love child: Burt and Ernie.
your last two posts were done in seoul! finally, something cheery to brighten my cold days here in seoul :). my sisters and i have been big fans of your work since you started. thanks for the great photos!

i absolutely loved watching the short documentary you posted. thank you for doing what you do and being so inspirational.
this reminds of the 60s 70s in china~esp the vest with his face
i used to go to dosan park as a child growing up. thanks for bringing up a great memory of mine. very nice picture. you should check the local fish market to see some very exotic grandmas and grandpas working :)
Baby, it's cold outside - and when it's this bitter cold, expect the unexpected... with that said, the vest over the blazer is the unexpected twist! :)
I also like the soft lighting in this photo, Sart.

Oh Jesus, can I please look like this from the shoulders down?
Dear Scott,
Thank you for being a daily source of inspiration. It was your site that made me want to start taking street fashion photos and I can never thank you enough for that.

I love that a guy named "anonymous" wants you to post this guys name here. I'm also glad to see you post this image. Perfection is so boring, in any art form... t
Love the vest lots! I would pair it with some wide leg Celine pants, and camel color Martin Margiela boots! Thats just me, but his touch of green is fun! www.fashionbaggage.com
I love the audacity of the retro vest OVER the blazer.
Very original. The layers and shots of color show a sense of using himself as a canvas. This guy must be an artist!
the shot is not bad,but please dont tell me that is clothes are cool....
absolutely like it
That's great. Love how the layers show at the cuff of his jacket. Sucha great look.
CUTE!!!!
No way! Can't believe you're in seoul. eeeeeeee~ Welcome.
Love your works!
Perfect fit right there.

Love the different colors he is wearing : green, bleu, red, beige, brown. Original
he looks comfortable and warm with all those layers... he must be very thin to pull it off without looking like a sack of potatoes.

Not really great quality shot.
Love the picture, but does it have a strange big pixelation? The photos above and below look correct.
WOW! I wear a similar blazer http://www.luxyuu.com/fay-blazer-p-1913.html!
I love him! :)
heart just skipped a beat
i like his jacket and his face
NICE.
I never thought of vest over jacket.
i like this, the jackets from uniqlo along with the sweater i think. cheap and classy, love it!
The sporty vest over a classic jacket is so clever. I love the way the hemlines play against each other.
He seems like such a character. Love the hidden colors in his outfit. Great photo.
I love his vest's cowboy vibe!

i love the colors together.
No.
love the colours and the layering. Absolutely wonderful :)

Call me old fashioned but I don't get the layering of long jackets over short jackets. I like the colours underneath the jacket. Not so much the jacket which is in the colours of an old suburban RER in Paris: old brown & old orange!
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
Great layers! Very colourful!

Thank you so much for going to Seoul. Lived there for a year and I just loved the fashion. I hope you find inspiration there. I know I did.
By the way, this guy is amazing. I keep coming back to look at him.

His red sweater brings this to life.
