A cowboy hat in New York City...even if it's furry...how different is that???
Love her style, however, the necklace is not really my thing... nevertheless, it's cool that she's wearing it!!
xo thefashionguitar
Amazing outfit. Loving the scarf, and that massive bird necklace is actually a great touch.
Rooster. Ha!
Woah - now isn't that a statement piece. I'm sure the necklace will have lots of people talking (or tweeting) about it.

thank you for sharing your amazing talent as well as the incredible style and spirits from the streets. living in a small midwest town (green bay, wi), i crave the kinda people watching that you provide at its height, so thank you for providing me with inspiration and true beauty. last year i got a copy of your book and it is beautiful, again, thank you for sharing with the world. loved the documentary too! namaste, shadia
Just love the necklace, it's amazing!

beautiful scarf and hat but what's with that bird??
cute hat!
I love the mixture of style and whimsy. There's a lesson there. Well done!
Wow, this is so charming. The hat, the bird ... and that smile. Like it (her) very much.
Thanks Scott, cheers from stuttgart, d
Love her style, very strong! But that necklaces gives it a nice edge! Gorgeous!

A little over the top, but not out of the ballpark. I have to say I love it. I'm loving the mixture of black, and different hues of navy. The hat is great, the double wrap belt even better, the scarf to die for. Even the chicken necklace somehow works. Yes, she's styling "hard core" and I want her outfit. Nicely put together.
Love all the layers, and that bird necklace is amazing!
i don't get this one at all. pretty girl though.
I like her trousers and her necklace is very funny ^^
Nice look! I don't like the hat, but her necklace is so cool!!!

Hello from Buenos Aires ~
I love the hat and the chicken :)
There must be a story behind that chicken.
cute.
Love that necklace! I am big fan of quirky details such as this.
Anthea,

I would love to see that bird up close . . . Very original. I wonder if she made it herself.
Loving that scarf, too.

I really am loving this look - not for everyone but she wears it with confidence and looks beautiful being her. I am also a sucker for anything with birds.
Much love,

The birdie is sick lol www.copperetiquette.wordpress.com
great example of how accessories can totally make an outfit! i like this! :-)
What a lovely picture! Her bird goes with her smile... Charming, sweet, joyful!
A modern-day Peter Pan (or is she Robin Hood, considering her white bird?), roaming the streets of Milan!
Cool bird. Looks kind of home-spun :)

i interpret this as navy(the new black) & a nautical theme.
Lovely! Truly original, and classy with it. Can't decide if I love the hat or the necklace more..
Anyone watch "Portlandia"? She "put a bird on it!"
This is so different! I love it!!
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
I love, love, LOVE the color combo. So simple, so chic! And that Chicken? bwhaahahaahhaa! Love it!
love the scarf!
bird necklace = wicked!!!
She looks fabulous! The necklace is a unique touch to the monochromatic outfit!

What a great look for a nice winter day. Love it!!!!
http://styletonezagreb.blogspot.com/
Wish my trousers fit me like that. She'd be super cute without the necklace - but it makes the outfit that much more interesting. Nice contrast against all the dark.
The colour palette is what strikes me. There have been only very few changes in shapes (well, there have been some but they have not been as dramatic as when, say, Hedi Slimane introduced his slim line) but there definitely is an early 2010s approach to colours.

love the scarf..
scary necklace
lookit that bling!
lovin' the creativity and style from this gal.
wow!

hat, scarf, low riding pants, thin belt, hands in pocket, unassuming smile...a warm casual welcoming style.
See: http://theskyofstars.blogspot.com/
she's cute and has a great style!!
Love the outfit! She seems fun and very original.
Crazy awesome cool!!
I like it but is always refreshing to see someone
in a well tailored outfit
I'm still loving the dove ..:
She needs a ten-gallon hat to go with her super-sized bandana and chicken. That's a tall tale.
Love everything except the stuffed chicken around her neck. BUT I do love that she is rocking her own style...and I suppose that is what fashion is about, right? Taking risks!
Love that "big" bird necklace and that scarf on her. Very pretty smile too!
love the look, her posture, the belt & the men's scarf
http://www.wearaddiction.etsy.com
Love it. chic farm look, complete with gingham-ish cloth and chicken. It tottally works. Doesn't hurt that she's cute as a button.
I love the freedom's chicken.
I think she nailed it. Proportion, texture, layering--check. The scarf is gorgeous and sophisticated, kind of an oversized ascot. The belt, furry hat and bag-yes, yes and yes. And I actually think the bird works here. It breaks up the field of blue, and personalizes the look in a way that's whimsical without being ridiculous. I kind of get who she is because of that bird. I'm hoping she works with children, because kids would really be drawn to her. Cute as a bug's ear, that one.
OMG! I love her sense of humour. This chicken necklace is so funny.
You made my morning, I'm off to work happy now!
If Flav-o-flav can pull off a giant clock necklace, she can certainly rock the chicken. Well done!
Its ALWAYS the scarves that I love. The bird necklace is just fantastic and creative!!
I love that bird!!!!
playfull vintage!
Pure loveliness and style - YUM!
She has a really great sense! love her!
I love the pois :)
http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/
amazing style!!!...I love her hat and scarf
Lydia had a field trip with her young students today and knew they would love the rooster around her neck more than anything. The hat was for her, not the kids; she felt like she was doing a play on the whole American thing today - rooster, cowboy like hat...giddup!
http://violetsdayblog.blogspot.com/
that bird is so beautiful
Ruhvana
Her scarf is just beautiful.
http://influxus.blogspot.com/
love the statement necklace!
I love the entire playfull take on the outfit; the (amazing!) bird neclace, along with the cat-ear impersonation(sorry for my irregular perspective to describing what i see) ,places a somewhat smile on your face; as well as the querry of wondering what shoes she may be wearing; i'm thinking maybe armadillo? So is that a bolo tie? Because if it is, then I approve of bolo ties for the first time in my life.
So cool!! :D
amazing!
and the necklace is just so wonderful!

Great accessorizing. Love it!
absolutely lovely shot

Aaaw! Cute, fun, quirky. Leads to other cute, fun, quirky ideas. The bird and the hat are the best.
she makes everything she has on, look great (minus the hat... which is oohkay.) but i like what shes doing.
http://ren-uh-zahns.blogspot.com
What the duck? (pun intended-haha) Just kidding. She's definitely got her own style doesn't she? Love it.
i don't really like her style.
everything seems so out of proportion.
this one's my least favorite so far. sorry..
Love the scarf and the belt!
I thought the necklace was a nice touch actually
that necklace(?) is great!

Its hard to react to this! So much happening, very unique and fun. I love the duck!

I want these hat!!! mmmm
amazing blog!!
This is not womens outfit! :-(
PUT A BIRD ON IT!
I like it :). Especially the necklace and the belt.
I actually love this! She has a man's style to me, but that necklace gives it a little femininity in a strange kind of way!
Love the scarf too!

Great picture. I love looking at all your pictures.

What a rad necklace.
What a Rad necklace!!
Ha! That bird-necklace is so funny and playful, love the spotted scarf to that. She looks wonderful! She must have an interesting life.
http://fashionnews.zalando.co.uk
Great Style! Love her smile! ( bird too)
Thank you for sharing the gorgeous photos.
Goodness gracious! So unique! So whimsical! Is there an extra flap of fabric on the back of the hat?
I think this is a fun look. I don't think I'd wear it myself, but I could definitely use some elements of it for inspiration for my personal style. Not sure about the size of the bird, it doesn't really cohere with the rest of the outfit. It's certainly the star of the show! Personally, I think that the scarf could be the focal piece, because of its pattern. Maybe the bird could be a smaller element? Like, if the scarf were tucked in a certain way, and the bird was pinned on to secure it...
It's a really fun look, though! I appreciate that she kept the colors simple and muted.
I think this may be one of my favorite outfits you've ever posted... the chicken makes it:)
love her scarf!
This is so unique. It takes a confident person to pull the necklace off, and it looks awesome on her
Special but im still feeling it. Really pretty. love.love.love
That necklace is so cool.
Very chic outfit....or should I say chick? Sorry, couldn't resist :P
http://fight-fires-in-your-best-clothes.blogspot.com/
I too think that there is something afoot with the colours we've been seeing for 2011. Dark, dramatic, and whimsical too. The bird necklace is a needed piece of whimsy in an otherwise somber outfit.
Forget her outfit.. she is GORGEOUS!
she is just brilliant. and once again, courage is sexy.
Love this outfit!
http://kimchicsisters.blogspot.com/2011/01/blossoms.html
Hm, the bird necklace doesn't do it for me...love her attitude though!
if she wasn't cute and thin, she'd look like a crazy person.
Without the chicken, she would just be another stylish woman. The chicken (and to a certain extent, the hat) gives insight into who she is. I like her!
I love this image. I feel like I get a sense of her personality... And the fact that she's can pull an outfit together :)
Loving this entire look, very comfortable and easy going yet stylish.
I completely love this look!
I tried to read all the comments but I think is imposible haha

This is a bold outfit. I like certain elements of it, such as the bird necklace, belt, pants and scarf. However, combining all of these things is a bit much. She seems to have a very unique style, which I appreciate. Keep rocking it, girl!

her big collar as a "hen" is so original. I also love everything she is wearing : her scarf, her hat, her pant, her belt, and the way she is wearing all this, her attitude.
LOve this look. It's boyish with a nice quirk. Favorite part is the bird!

Yes! I love fashion but sometimes it lacks some humour, love this, fun yet very stylish!
This look is kind of creepy.
WE LOVE THE NECKLACE!! IS AMAZING!!
www.sneak-peaking.blogspot.com
I'm sure there is a background story with the chicken. I bet she does not wear it everyday but good on her for making it part of the day you photographed. I think it looks great as does the belt, the jacket, her wonderful eyebrows. What a cool and inspired look.
Why is it really cool people on the street are NEVER wearing the clothes from the fashion shows?
Love her way ..fearless. the necklace is enchanting and the whole thrown together look is interesting. I love interesting. XO

wow! what a style!
That chicken sure grabs the eye!!
Love the scarf.

I really don't like her outfit. The proportions are wrong and the necklace is ridiculous. She's trying way too hard.
Is that a chicken I see around her neck?! I think im in love....

gorgeous girl and beautiful outfit.
love her bird necklace and how it looks with the scarf.

the bird/chicken/rooster necklace is the best thing about this look...lol
ahhhhhhhhhh loook at that necklace!!! :)
crumpetsandt.blogspot.com
looks like she grabbed her boyfriend's clothes, which look great, but then took the tablecloth and the chicken decor too....yuck
I think the Chicken adds a bit of her own personality!
Love her scarf. Cannot help but make the connection with Portlandia and the sketch about "Put a bird on it" and her necklace.
the scarf is the curtain to the stage the chicken is on... and i like the whole of it
As they say in Portlandia, "Put a bird on it."
OMG!
I.ADORE.the BIRDIE touch!!!!!!!!

Her style is so different and refreshing! Who would have thought that a chicken necklace could be so chic :)

I'm pretty sure Woody Allen's mom knit that necklace.
this is a favorite - Love her natural happiness, Its beautiful.
best necklace i've ever seen!
the scarf reminds me of the ones my grand father wears around his neck. absolutely love it
She looks just plain cool. Love the necklace.
http://www.bonjourbellerue.blogspot.com
Now this I like! This is a really easy and personal style - not contrived at all like many I´ve seen on your blog. Isn´t it wonderful how people differ in their taste in style? While I´m really liking the hat and the crocheted chicken, others are telling her to lose it..
Love the navy tones but find it hard to take anyone seriously with a chicken around their neck! Perhaps I'm missing the point.
Great outfit, love the scarf and hat...the necklace is really fun!!

nice look, but... I am not sure about the huge crocheted chicken...
xxb
Love, love, love everything about this look, including the bird! I need to get me some pants like this.
I think her entire outfit is awesome... Love the scarf, and the necklace is quite strange- but somehow works well with her personality... She carries it proudly.
Wow, love this look, love the bird too!
Whatever the merits may be of a woman dressing in men's clothing, the chicken looks stupid unless she's at a poultry farmers' convention.
Something tells me that there is an interesting story behind the bird. So while I may not like the hat, her overall look makes me want to know something more about her. At the very least if I saw her walking down the street I would have to smile and appreciate someone who doesn't hesitate to bring something original to her look.
love the styling. it's so personal.

so cute! love how a great smile can take any outfit from wow to WOOOW!
She definitely has a unique style - she wears it well!
Studying the way the scarf is just looped somewhere at the collar area. The scarf makes the outfit for me but so many interesting elements. This is one of my top 10 ever faves. I love the way she looks the camera in the eye.
lovely, stylish and original. what more could you ask for?
Love her look, bet specially her necklace.. fun and original!!
So wonderful smile!!! :))
Portlandia!
Glad to see at least one other commenter has seen this show! That was my first thought she 'put a bird on it!'
simple, natural and elegant! JUST LOVELY! <3
You find some truly incredible looks and people on the streets! I was struck by the similarity of shapes made by different elements of her attire - rounded edge isosceles triangles (hat, head, bird, scarf...). Perky quirky.
right up my alley. Great catch!
a simple but beautiful at the same time
Sorry but I find it very contrived. Control freak trying to be cute.
What an amazing outfit! Loving the necklace and the pants! great photo!
http://breadandbutterdesigns.blogspot.com/
That´s Milan, only in Milan, style, class, good products, high quality
and that slightly charming appel, like as if she´s not caring all that much for anything
that necklace, and the whole look is amazing.
she is my new hero <3 <3
dont know if im feeling the bird neck piece, but love her outfit
I live the city which the new tv series "Portlandia" and I'm thinking of the tongue in cheek refrain, "Add a bird and call it art." Great look overall, though I would happily live without the bird necklace.
I think I may copy her use of button holes for a scarf this Spring. It looks so original on her.
She is so American inspired. This month's issue of Vogue briefly discusses our influence in Europe and this is a great example.
Also, if she is wearing make-up, it's perfect! That is just what I hope to achieve with mine.
Mmm...I don't like very much the necklace, but the scarf is really nice! I bought one similar when I was in Milan, by Ecotoosh: it's really lovely!
cool attitude!

Beautiful!
I love your style ... the necklace is beautiful!
I love her style! :)
http://lena510.blogspot.com/
Rock on, Milana! With that open, sweet smile, she could wear any necklace she wanted (although I can't think of anything more quirky and asynchronous than a yarn bird with button eyes) and STILL be absolutely stunning. Attitude is everything, and this lovely sweetness showing through is what makes this bird a cute chick instead of an albatross.
haha! that necklace made me smile, very eccentric!
