Comments on "On the Scene....Monotone, Milano"
beautiful picture
so classy and elegant it becomes...
...sexy!!
Oh this is very nice! Very nice indeed. I love his glasses peeping out from his breast jacket pocket.
But this is pretty perfect:)
Ciao ciao
That handkerchief detail is charming. And what a handsome man as well.
One word:
Swoon
Tasty.
Great portrait!!
(although the heading should be "Monochrome" (to do with colour) rather than "Monotone" (to do with sound)...)
Monotonous Milan! Grey Milan 'cause you're Milan? Tell me your name, tell me your story ... And I'll find out your dull colors
handsome, very handsome man!)
beautiful pic ;))

Your blog is so inspiring, it's really amazing. After I saw that short documentary about you, the video you posted, I became really sure that when I grow up, I wanted to be like you.
Magnifique!

Ya see, I'd HAVE to say something to him, just to see what kind of witty/smart-assed remark Mr. chicer-than-AND-more-handsome-than-most would have.
Lovin' navy and especially on him.
Wrapping a scarf is an art and navy is just timeless.
Great look.
Un homme seduisant en plus!
Very charismatic!

love that blue....

He looks like an Italian Hugh Laurie (House). Very masculine, yet elegant. The blues all work together.

I wonder where to find men like this... of course the answer is Milano. Sexy man, great picture.
A lot charme.
oh i just love, seemingly, masculine men, who know how to dress well. very elegant. i've always had a thing for older men, idk why, hmmm.
Pura elegancia !!

sooo navy....
so handsome, and looking straight in the camera-- such confidence.

I love the cut and the monotone, the way his scarf is tied and the popped collar. but i can't help but notice the material of the coat, it screams cheap. Its something you would find on a mid-priced brand jacket. compromise on price and you compromise on quality of material, and that's exactly what we find in this photo. Maybe if the gentleman bought ray ban specs instead of the tom fords in his front pocket, he would have had money left to purchase a similar sharp coat from a maker that uses better fabric.. mm just food for thought.
Esquire's Nick Sullivan ?
Amazing. Love seeing his sunglasses just peeping from his coat pocket.
beautiful blog..
exitos... yael

Style.Nothing else.
hypnotic gaze.
nice that european men don't feel the need to colour their hair and allow the grey to show naturally.
are those persols tucked in his coat pocket?
once again navy is the new black.
elegant and so well groomed.
This is Nick Sullivan, fashion guy for American Esquire magazine. And he's not Italian, he's British/Irish
Nick Sullivan??????
Love his confidence and style...
I am swooning!
very nice. Though what's with the " on the scene" tag? Is this replacing on the street?
That's one gorgeous man, and the clothes ain't bad either!
great shot!

This frame is absolutely perfect! i love the navy on navy & sunglasses in the pocket. This man could not have any more sex appeal with what he has going on. Love.
he reminds me of guido contini from 8 1/2... love those italians.
More men should dress like him ...

>>> I have a suggestion (:<<<<
You should visit some High Schools/ colleges in these cities and see what the "in thing" is in each one
I know where i live in the ATL (GA)
that high school kids have style and it differs from adults
Being Esquire's fashion editor, he better have style. j/k..great look!
Rrrrrr, can I have him for Dinner? Hot.
Amazing that you find REAL people (not prof. models) just walking around on the streets. This looks like something in the pages of magazines! I'm going to need to be more observant down here in Texas. I dunno if I'm going to see this!
Haha, I've been learning Italian for two years now and I have the most random pronunciation mistakes because of my Italian overdose. I took a while to come to terms with you having written 'Monotone' because I thought you had written 'Mono-tow-ne' and I was like, "Wait, that doesn't mean anything in Italian"!
Great job one the blog though. I don't usually comment online but it's always a pleasure to come here :)
Like Yves Klein's The Monotone Symphony. ineida
should be titled 'super handsome, Milan'...
wonderfull picture
amazing blog... bravo!
Wonderful detail the Tom Ford sunglasses!
http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/
HE is sooo chic!

A real man.
handsome much?
I think you mean "monochrome" or "monochromatic!"
A beautiful picture regardless!
The monotone colour is definitely offset by the various textures/materials of his clothing. Not to mention the striped shirt peaking out from behind his coat collar. His expression also conveys that there is something more behind the man himself.
WANT one of these TOO!
gorgeous lighting.
Can't resist hanging eyelids..and darkblue
aw!!
What a real man!
I have to agree with the earlier commenter who said this picture isn't really about the clothes.
I find it interesting that so many people are affected by this looking straight to camera shot of an elegant man who appears to be at the intersection (zenith?) of experience and virility. His craggily handsome, well-lived in face and the full head of salt and pepper hair is VERY sexy.
I wonder how he will look in five years time? For right now though this picture is arresting, and I'm not immune...
handsome and rugged with a bit of polish is more like it.
Men age so beautifully.
OMG google his name you get his pic from your site, Sart, 3-4 years ago - he looks SO much better now! Maybe its not just the cragginess, the salt and pepper hair, the cool navy not-try-hard look, its the look he gives us too - he knows more, he's lived, it hasn't all gone well perhaps but who cares - he's a better man for it :-)
How can Charm be photographed? Excellent work.
beautifull blue
http://andthespidersfrommars.blogspot.com/
He is just really gorgeous. That is simply all I have to say here.
Eyes that say a thousand words.
Strong, masculine ,handsome, romantic. Confidence does not always need a blaring horn ( feel me, Kanye?) but can be as subtle as this gentleman's deft styling of his wardrobe.
Why do you never see men dress like this in Australia?
His look is perfect!
I love the sunglasses peeking out from his pocket, and the expression on his face. It makes him seem like some kind of classy spy, hehe... :)
yum
Nice scarf, too
he looks tough as.
Well...I'm in love.
Sometimes the monotone look can be so absolutely ravishing it is almost impossible to convey...until you see it done right...then you get it!
Best,
Reve
I'm in love!
what a handsome man!woww
and beautiful picture of course:D
do you have any idea who is he?
:p
Fantasticaly suave, excellent colour and brilliant framing.
http://ataraxianclub.blogspot.com/2011/01/best-of-auction-house-mens-shoes.html
is he Nihat Doğan?
His coat is just beautiful.
I love the details about this photo: the almost purple (looking) scarf in the sunlight, the shirt just peeking out from behind his coat and the sunglasses sticking out of the coat pocket.
Wonderful!
So many of these shots are only gorgeous because you took them. He looks nice, but not stunning. You painted him so.
Italian men and scarves....They just plop them on and I just melt..
lovely
Very chic ...
xxxx
Great navy coat and checked scarf...and Wayfarer in pocket :-) great style!
amazing, you got the style, magnificent
I love the tom Ford glasses tucked in his pocket. Taste whilst being discreet, c'est parfait.
He's not Italian, he's British - and the fashion director of Esquire (US)
Ohhhhh! I'm think I'm in love!!
Shows one can look good at any age if they dress well. I love the well captured genuine expression.
