Comments on "On the Scene....Boyfriend Pants, Florence"
Nice look. Not entirely sure about the socks. But everything else looks good.
Awesome socks and smile
I like that her slim proportions give a paperbag waist to the trousers.
she looks amazing
lovely combination. especially her pink socks!
See! There's those shoes again. I'm telling you we'll see these walking around in Manhattan come spring. And you'll be to blame. ;-D
Chic socks and pants...cool!

The socks complete the outfit!

Oh, to be slim enough to carry that off! Love the hot pink socks as well.
Love it! Love it! Love it!
This, to me, is the sexiest type of woman. She's comfortable enough to wear a great man's chino, fun enough to pair it with pink socks, and confident enough to rock a killer smile! Adore.

Purple socks, great!
http://intermsofme.blogspot.com/
Not sure how I feel about them on her, but I like the idea of women mixing it up and wearing pants that aren't always so tight...
Great shot!
http://jimjims.net
amazing really
Love her relaxed but stylish look. She must be comfortable and confident in her self. Love it*
3 mini trends have emerged:
inky navy, attention to the ankle area and a hit of bright colour.
these trousers work because of the narrow fitted sweater...but that pop of fuschia saves the outfit completely.
love pants...and socks!

Love it!!!
& the socks are.. WOW!! :D
I so wish I could pull this off!
Gorgeous look! I would love to be able to pull it off but keep wondering if men find this type of style sexy. I think women would know how to find it beautiful but I was wondering if men would...
Very simple, but nice.
I love the socks!

Now that is just a cute lady.
The socks make the outfit. Perfection!
socks are wonderful. Karen
wow! i like her so much
Beautiful pants! Not sexy... But I'm sure she doesn't care.. she seems someone that don't give a %&*^^* about what people think... she's a strong woman and I see that on her face. Love her smile. She's approachable and I love people like that.

I love fucsia socks with brown shoes!
sublime :)))

J`adore her cardigan!
Love the socks!!!!
It doesn't matter what her trousers look like or the color of her socks, that smile is fabulous..but I will see how I look in a pair of "boyfriend pants" ..
I love the socks!
An inconspicuous Outfit always need colored socks :D
well combined!
I wish i looked like that in a top like that! Time to get dieting!
I'm not so keen on the outfit as a whole but she does look good.
:) x
i love her look!
Scott I really appreciate your work.

Love this outfit!
Great pants ;)
loving the pink socks detail
http://donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
you go, girl.
the pants could be a little longer as too much socks are showing although the color looks good. Those shoes seem to be popular in Italy.
pretty perfect.
I never really understood the concept of boyfriend pants / trousers / jeans. Is it just women wearing men's clothes? Hardly revolutionary! To be honest, a man trouser won't look manly on a woman because it falls on a different shape. If a woman wants trousers that make the lower part of her body look masculine, she needs to find trousers designed to that effect (think Marlene Dietrich rather than Yves Saint-Laurent who did the opposite: make men trousers look very feminine)

Simple perfect. she´s cool. the long belt is also a nice detail. and yes, i think the look is sexy in a sophisticated way.
She looks very elegant. I do wish her trousers were longer, though...

Love the pink socks, they make the whole outfit look so playful!
http://fashionthroughtravel.blogspot.com/
LOVELY!!!!!!!!!!!
PERFECT!!!!!!!!!
xx
www.ilovenystyle.blogspot.com
The pants look sloppy. Having the button exposed as it is while wearing a belt and the bunching in the crotch ruins the look.
Love the shirt and the playfulness of her projection but if she wore a pant that fit, this look would be sexy.
The shoes bother me. I would like to try this look with my own ankle boots, nice Italian black leather handmade boots laced up front and with a thick 1,5 inch heel. That could work. The socks are lovely, the belt is OK, the pockets in trousers are the bonus. Goodbye big expensive bags and high dangerous heels. Fashion can be fun!
Love the jumper, the trousers, the smile and everything. Like the idea of the colored socks, though I would prefer them to be dark green or something.
loving that splash of pink

Love the sock detail!! Haha I was wearing something really similar a few days ago, but with purple socks!

I have such socks today too!
It's very pleasant when you are living Ukraine to wear such socks as a woman from Florence on Your blog)
wow! Love it! Perfect.
The fuchsia stocking are a feather in his cap of this outfit!
love the beautiful ligth...
A man is saying:
Hi ladies out there
don't be concerned about the sexyness of such an outfit, I think sometimes it can be sexier than a super artificial "sex and the city" outfit - not only sex sells :)
She looks great, very pretty, nice body. I like the top and the socks, but the belt doesn't fit the trousers with the buttton below it which ruins the pants look.
great style. love her socks !
the pants are very nice :D and i love her shoes!!
Great pant, but not a fan of the socks.
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
Great smile !!
Pretty girl but I think the proportions are a bit off - if you want to wear shorter pants then it would be good to have a higher waist on them, otherwise it just seems oddly shrunken. If you want the low waist, then drop the length. For some reason a high waist can work with a long length, but the low-short combo only gives you the look of short legs, which is just not flattering on anyone.
Love the neutral colours with the bright pink socks. Lovely smile as well x
Take those pink socks off and add some flats and you have an amazing casual effortless look.
http://basiikblog.blogspot.com
She must have a short boyfriend by the looks of the length of those trousers!
Love the look and is it just me or is anyone else wondering how tall her boyfriend is based on the pants? I am thinking he is either younger or older than she and is smiling too.
http://violetsdayblog.blogspot.com/
ohhh yes! I love boyfriend style, but I would prefer another socks colour!
Lovely smile!
www.tinynicethings.blogspot.com
great photo! she have a beautiful smile and awesome trousers.
I don't think people get that those are not boyfriend pants but carrot pants. They are really popular in Europe and the fact they are so shorts is actually part of the cut..This woman does not need to expose her body to be sexy and she definitely looks cool.
I like everything in theory, but in practice the fit of the pants is too much by half for my taste. I'm guessing they don't look great from the back with all that extra room in the rise. The look starts to range from casual into sloppy when the pants are so big they slip off and hang below the belt. In real life, I wouldn't be so picky about this. She looks comfortable and happy. Love the shoes and the classic aviators too.
I have never seen anyone w=use socks in such a brilliant way.
www.styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com
love it! so chic!
Love the glasses.... really nice!
The socks! Loving. Loving. And loving.
I dig the drawstring effect on the pants. Is her boyfriend that short?!?
Wow, I like a lot! Except socks, I like this a lot...
http://www.isthisitmodelsreview.com/
See that smile? She knows her socks look good. :)
Rach
It looks great with those socks and shoes!!!
Something just looks off with the whole thing. I have to disagree with most of the comments. I really don't think she pulls it off.
This is pretty good ! I love how she mixed the pants w/ those pink socks. Fashion isn't about shapes and colours, fashion is about who YOU are.
http://www.gauthier-fiorito.blogspot.com
Her shoes are killer because they are the real deal. The insouciance of the mouse-y pants: button, long rise, good deep pockets is enviable and prove that she is not anyone's fashion/ guinea pig/ victim. The socks could be the boyfriend element...
LOVE this look: sleek navy top, slouchy pants & that little shock of sock. She's great!
as far as minimalism goes this outfit is pretty bang on. touch of colour, porportions, slouch factor
omg, definitely something i would wear. love how the boyfriend pants is hanging on her legs showing off her pink socks. and oxfords are the best!

I like this outfit. The shirt is nice.

Fashion Tip From the '80s: A carefully placed safety pin could keep the belt from riding up in the front, which would make the pants hang better & preserve the paper-bag effect at the waist.
Love the socks & her general je ne sais quoi!
Love the socks, very much a character.
Check out my blog, I'm doing a giveaway right now!

in general: she has class. that´s why she ´ll look great no matter what she´s wearing. she makes the clothes look great not the other way round ...
and in particular: I love the combination of boy and girl, oversized and slim, trousers and pullover.
and I would love to have this belt.
I´m not so sure about her shoes and socks, can imagine a more feminine footwear ... but who cares ... she´s just gorgeous.
She makes me happy!
Love the pop of pink with her socks. The whole look is beautiful and relaxed.
Love the pink socks...definitely gives the outfit a little attitude...

I really like the pants. The cut, the print, everything about them is "cool" personified. Not sure about the socks, though.
haha! Loving the flash of pink sock x
This is really nice. I wonder if I'll think differently now of short longs on men. The socks play a crucial role.
He must be a rather short boyfriend...
i can't make my mind up about the socks, but love everything else, especially the way the belt looks with the over-sized waist.
Great look. Love the pink socks popping out underneath her pants. And very cool shoes too!
love her pink socks :)

Very chic, and what beautiful smiles ! A beautiful elegant woman.
She looks happy and comfortable :). Nice weather as well :)
Loving the whole look!
i dont think the pants look good on her...
Classy and Classic <3 Love it
I think the socks give it a splash of color in there. But yeah, I would've chosen a darker hue of that fuchsia.
I guess for less slim people a longer length (and neutral socks) would be more flattering - on her it's perfect this way!
she's amazing!!

I adore this sporty yet sophisticated and comforably feminine look.
Love her outfit!

Love love love the socks, what a lovely color!!
Her boyfriend must be really short.
Forgot I own a pair of super loud aqua, yellow and pink argyle socks. I'm pulling them out when I get home.

She should add; taller boyfriend, to her bucket list. ;)
awesome shot! her pants are cool paired with that socks && shoes! <3

The socks make the outfit.
The pants, socks and shoes look like circus attire. Just the pants with a tiny, feminine shoe..yes. Or a tight sexy pencil skirt with a woman's version of those shoes..yes. A smart woman will not fall prey to this ridiculous fad.
There are many cool elements here, but the execution is poor and some of the pieces range from uninspiring to ugly, so I don't think the outfit as works a whole. By all means go for boyfriend pants if you can pull it off, but these are dull or don't photograh well. Same goes for the belt, which is too thin and fastened too tight and thus exposes the button of the pants and makes their too low waist drop further and a bulge on the crotch. She's also either wearing the wrong bra or not wearing one at all. The combo of these three things kills it for me and makes feel like she's going for hip by numbers without regard for the overall effect, which is blah. The poor socks can't do all that heavy lifting.
I think the top, sock and shoes would work with prettier boyfriend pants and a sturdier belt that can actually carry the pants. Else, if keeping the pants, I'd go for more delicate oxfords. And I'd still change or ditch that most depressing belt.
Love the look, esp. the socks.
Quick glance, I thought she was Hilary Swank
The only reason this look isn't laughable is because the woman is attractive -- her face keeps the eye away from the unflattering proportions of the trousers. Yuck.
I love her relaxed chic look. And the fuchsia socks adds that pop of colour needed for this outfit as the colours are pretty much dull. One must have lots of confidence to wear those socks! I am loving her look!
Love the pants!

love the bright socks with the neutral colors

love this man look with a colorful details! great pic!

The most beautiful and natural part of this picture is.. her body and her smile! No fat, no silicon..
Just a simple sweater and pants are perfect for her.
I envy this lady! :)
I do not like the socks but I love the fit of the simple top, just perfect! And of course her smile :)
thebeautylover.blogspot.com
It's simple, natural and very chic at the same time. I like her purple socks. Love her style.
her boyfriend must be very small
PURE PERFECTION. This is how I think about dressing. Totally get this look. The socks: phantastic. The shoes: a dream. The pants: Best cut.
haha bien joué le look !
nice nice nice!
please come in turin!
http://damncreativity.blogspot.com/
how does this happen!? her pants don't even fit right, but she's still like "jaja i'm so cool." effortless. why don't pants look like this on me when I wear them like that?
I adore her socks!
short boyfriend
Boyfriend pants? Who is she dating - Danny Devito?
haha the pink socks are tooo cute.
Cute pants! But am I the only one here who wants to take my skateboard to that sweet little bank behind her?
Nice short boy friend pant, with fushia socks. Perfect match with a tight jumper
she is my icon!!! Thanks Scott:-)
Loving this look! The pink socks add a girlie cool to the "menish" outfit...
www.fashionseduction.blogspot.com
short and wide boyfriend perhaps
A fashionista pretending to have invented something and pulling it off because the look suits her very slim build and she's having a good time. I bet this she was wearing stilettos and a big expensive bag a year ago. Interesting how brogues have become the riposte to all those killer heels.
Love it! Totally rocks! Great shot...great style......L
She's doing a similar look with the socks and kind of shoes as the gentleman in the yellow socks above. I wonder if they know each other. :)
I love it. I am seriously considering going out and finding some amazingly colored socks to incorporate into my look now.
She definitely has the right frame to pull off this look; I'd say that most people wouldn't be able to wear pants this way, but they sit on her hips very well. I wonder how they would fall if her hands weren't in her pockets.
Anyway. Great look. Again... I need to go to Italy. I love how nonchalant Italian fashion can be. :)
Wild socks
love the tinge of sunlight on her hair!
I agree..socks speaks!
- isabelle à montréal
i think the socks add that extra bit of spice to this ensemble
http://thetastelevel.blogspot.com/
Short boyfriend .. ;-)
hate the fit of the pants and hate the shoes as well as socks. like the sweater a lot though;-)
Honestly, this is bad fashion. I cannot figure out why she is so attractive. I believe it has nothing to do with her clothing.
Alas, a quizzical study in the art of fashion photography.
I'm with Chri, a classic case of gorgeous woman ghastly clothes, they look bad on her so no way they gonna look good on a normal person!...ok when I say 'they' I am talking the trousers...her 'boyfriend' is a minor?
I like her socks and shoes!
She looks great! I don't think I could ever pull off an outfit like this but it looks really good on her. I love the way she looks so happy and free.
There are a lot of brogues on this page. Well happy about this as I have three pairs. One in black, one in brown and a light pink pair that I wore all last spring. I prefer to wear them with a sixties style mini dress though as opposed to the full masculine look.
Tellement CHIC !
Although this woman is beautiful and well dressed. You seem to be in a rutt with the continual usage of cropped/rolled trousers as the defining piece of an individuals style. Although this is a key trend it would be nice to see a shift in focus.
just great!
She looks wonderful as usual...the shoes have been in style for a while..i got a pair in Padova, italy from a company named frau..
the socks are so in..but i will have to say Jcrew has started the pop of color awhile ago with colored anklets..isnt she the girl from Vogue//the editor//name begins with V...im heading to italy end of feb.cant wait to see all the styles..great job with all pics!
your blog is wonderful!
http://ilaryjules.blogspot.com/2011/01/touch-of-animalier-our-first-outfit.html
he must be a short guy!
love the jumper..love the jumper, the socks, the shoes, the belt..
I love your work... and love fashion too. This is just odd to me. I must be brave and say no... just like to the musical Cats. She looks clownish to me.
She has a very short boyfriend.
I know the socks are a love/hate thing...but I think this outfit would just be boring with neutral socks. So I love them.
