Very dapper. The accessory maketh this man. (And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.)

Blogger EYE-LOVE COSMETICS said ... (4:44 PM) :

Very dapper, I am having a love/hate relationship with the scarf. In my head I can hear him saying, "Four score and seven years ago..."

so Italian!

Anonymous Me@ said ... (4:54 PM) :

I bet he's been fly his whole life... scarf, trench, watch....I LIVE !!!

Anonymous Jordan said ... (5:01 PM) :

Rolled up cuffs, turned up collar, coat thrown over shoulders--a bit too studied for my taste.

Blogger Kate and Ai said ... (5:07 PM) :

This is gorgeous and so filled with emotion.
The white on his scarf is a beautiful pop of color against his black and navy clothing.
You caught him in a moment so well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:08 PM) :

At first I thought this was a priest. I guess now...hmmm interesting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:08 PM) :

he's one my favorite in the bible (july 2007) in an easy elegant orange and white summer combo. now, another season, the white shirt cuff iluminates his hand like in a goya figure. is he stoned?

Blogger The Sluice Box said ... (5:14 PM) :

Super classy, love it.

Blogger Hattie said ... (5:47 PM) :

Mmmm, another wonderful picture! How at ease and contented he looks; but what makes it is the hint of roguishness in his eye ; )

I love the scarf worn rolled up like that! This is "the way"!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 PM) :

This picture and the picture of the lady below really exemplify Milan style.

There's always something business and something chic in the attire, it's a business city with style. Always has been.

As for the navy coat, that is the navy coat I've always wanted..

Anonymous Elaine said ... (6:32 PM) :

Dapper gentleman, except for his cigarette.

Anonymous Hobo Ken said ... (6:37 PM) :

Very thespian - reminds me of Vincent Price in House of Wax or Peter O'Toole in My Favorite Year.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:49 PM) :

Crisp photo..but as to the fashion side...this strikes the wrong chord for me. The look is the offspring of Liberace and Father Guido Sarducci cooked in wrong sauce.

Blogger The 3.2 Update said ... (7:04 PM) :

Very suave!!

I always struggle to decide what camera to leave the house with. What's your everyday lens?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:50 PM) :

He looks like an older and thinner Robin Williams!

Anonymous jimjims said ... (10:43 PM) :

this guy is classic!

if he had a little longer of hair, lost the watch and glasses, he could be a character in Lord of the Rings!

awesome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:00 AM) :

this is a perfect example of a man who would look absolutely average without his carefully chosen outfit. He looks awesome and proves that men can wear a silk scarf and still look like a man. Great!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:35 AM) :

I cannot get enough of this image. I wish that my boyfriend accessorised half as well as this stylish fellow, he is the absolute epitome of an old school Italian gentlemen and exudes class and nonchalance. Is it wrong that I find him a little bit sexy? X

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (6:56 AM) :

oh! Just beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 AM) :

i am distracted slightly by his glasses, they seem so utilitarian compared to his overall style, and not in the good way to my eye. wonderful scarf though.

Anonymous jice said ... (8:19 AM) :

Love this chic looking man. There seems to be something in the American ethos that completely precludes the possibility of men dressing like this, looking like this in the U.S. But I would love to see more of it here!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:41 AM) :

A wonderful portrait!

Blogger CabinetParts.com said ... (9:29 AM) :

From the scarf around his neck to the way he is holding the cigarette, it just gives it a regal European look.

Nice!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:05 PM) :

Fascinating combination of the clerical (so glad to see I'm not the only one who saw that!), the classic, and the dandified. And his eyes seem to hold a thousand stories...

Blogger the coolbirth kid said ... (12:34 PM) :

sans cigarette.

A very chic man. I love his white folded sleeve, with that wrist whatch as you instantly look towards his scarf and his navy blue trench.
Above all, his eyes show an enormous amount of self.confidence and serenity.

Anonymous P8 said ... (3:01 AM) :

This photo, for some reason, just looks creepy to me. He looks too much like a priest--or IS a priest?
