Love the ring x
I'm not sure about those shoes but the elbow patches are goooood
i love one big statement ring...fabulous!
Nothing pretentious here at all. I like the denim, jumper and the ring is quite cool as well.

I love the shoes
nice brown scarf and patch...
i love the colors!

I wonder if she got those socks flying Qatar airways cause that's where I got mine lol. Only difference is: she knows how to rock them. :)
love the ring and chocolate scarf..
Makes me happy to see someone else who looks cute but still wears comfy shoes.
The jeans and sweater(love the elbow patches) go really well together. I especially like where positioned her, the rich blue background really compliments her!
Elbow patches are just like my favorite thing ever! Love it!

love her sweater so much. and i like the colors she mixed: brown, dark brown, dark blue, maroon... for some the combination might be too dark but i like it.

why not!! lovely
This is definitely the East Coast of America style: an old shetland sweater with patches, original Levis, clogs, an old ring. Cozy prep school gear. Nothing trendy, nothing ridiculous. No bondage shoes, no transparent anything, no bag that cost thousands.
This is the way artists dress: a warm sweater, Levis, comfy shoes or boots, old jewelry that carries a spirit of its own.I bet a lot of your readers will comment that there's nothing special going on here. That's the beauty of it.
Amazing!
Love this sweater!
Everything great, all the details but those shoes???
Anyone know where her shoes are from?
oww i love those street -outside coffee shops- shots :)
they look so christmas-like

Looks what I wore the other day actually. Haha I do need more sweaters in my life though. Just waiting to go home to Michigan less sales tax :)
I agree with the commenter about East coast style. I live right on the Eastern coast and almost everybody in the city dresses like this; I love it, because it's real and approachable; she doesn't look like a human replica of Barbie with wads of cash to blow.
Looks what I wore the other day actually. Haha I do need more sweaters in my life though. Just waiting to go home to Michigan less sales tax :)
what is so fabulous? matching a scarf to elbow patches? sorry but i don't get it.
very confortable outfit, I don't like the shoes...they are terrible!
http://verychiclist.blogspot.com/
The shoes are made by Dansko...........all nurses know that!
I love this look.
is it just me or does she look like a brunette Anna Wintour???
elbow patches definitely makes it on my list of favorite things.
Dansko...just what the doctor ordered.
nice detail on the elbow
The ring and the elbow thingy are nice.
Thought she was regular until you zoomed in on the details.
Nice!
Love that shade of blue with brown!
http://www.ohmydior.org/
SHOES ARE DANSKOS: very comfortable. Nurses wear them. I've owned two pair for five years. They make more versions (even dress shoes) than the traditional clog seen here.
SHOES ARE DANSKOS: seen here are traditional pair (worn by nurses). They also make dress versions.
Casual/minimalistic. Love the elbow patch sweater. Not too crazy about the shoes, though.
Simply sweet and comfy!

A very stylish woman! I like this combination even for me! (I´m a man)
digging everything from the knee up.
socks and shoes are a little questionable.
great shot though!

Elbow patches!! <3

again a nice combo!!!
I really want to move to somewhere with more people and more styles.
nice shoes!!
Love your eye for detail.
Most people would walk by and not realise how soothing to the eye this entire look really is!
http://www.oddandchic.com
Great ring and great photo!
its all about the little details...I love these...very elegant. Goes to show that it doesn't take a whole lot to be elegant, just how you wear it.
http://www.culturalblahblah.com
Subtle and chic!xx
I love the shade of blue on her sweater!
http://www.bubblistyle.blogspot.com
How incredible. The rich tones work perfectly with the colours of the building and water line. Great moment to capture a photo:)
Ciao
Oh I love the first picture. The blue background, with the womans different shades of blue make the picture very film noir. The purple socks are a wonderful contrast. :)
http://thegrandeurs.blogspot.com/
I almost bought that sweater at Forever 21! So nice to see fashion that is affordable and attainable instead of unrealistic designer labels making the fashion statement.
Pretty and Simple :))

Beautiful fall palette and silver jewelry, it makes me want to travel up north... Now if only I could find a sweater like that.
http://littlesphinxx.blogspot.com/
Really dislike those shoes as a rule . . . but do like her ring, the dark blue on dark blue and the slit in the side of the sweater which allows for a peek of the t-shirt.
love this blue pics!
http://angystearoom.blogspot.com/
I love this because it is so chilled out and stylish at th same time! See style can be comfortable!
Love those leather patches in the elbows.
Are those jeans APC?
iamsoagree
oh what a wonderful, casual look!
beautiful pictures, aren't they??

The entire color palette is so settled and therefore intriguing. Love the understated look.
haha, those shoes are part of the waitress, nurse, chef (and portland, oregon) uniform. Great to see them here, maybe I won't be so embarrassed to wear them. I have the exact same pair.
But it all comes down to the socks! Great!
Yeah, this is pretty much my daily uniform, including the big ring, too. I don't do the shoes, though. I had a pair once and felt like I was wearing the boxes. It's really hard to walk gracefully in them. What my eyeballs are enjoying about this as a photo are the different shades of blue and the beautiful architectural details against the softness of the fabrics. Very nice.
Please somebody tell a European women which brand are these shoes and can I buy them in internet? Thanks!I love this no-nonsense, still attractive and feminine style.
does anyone know if that patch jumper is from band of outsiders?????? hahahahahhahahaha but i love it! very well put together. =)
i love too
I love the patch and the ring, it looks gorgeous
xoxo Sootjeelina <3
The sweater is APC too, not Forever 21. I have it, but it doesn't fit me as well.
Perfection. I wonder where she found those clogs??
cosy and comfortable.
inky navy is the 'new black'.
thank you for showcasing a comfortable pair of shoes here. we don't all have to wear stilettos to be fashionable. to each his/her own! love danskos
Loving the colors of the outfit, the ring (of course!) and I am a fan of the shoes. I wear similar ones almost daily to work - with jeans or with a skirt/sweater/tights.
I normally read this blog via Google Reader but had to visit the original post to see if there would be comments on the shoes. I figure you either love 'em or hate 'em.
I am so anti-clogs. However, I am pro-working people. You do what you got to do. This person definitely makes the most of it.
the sweater is from APC
The sweaters are APC, where she works and is sitting in front of. I suspect the scarf, jeans and socks are APC too.
Chocolate colored scarf. Great accessory. But I think it wouldn't make as big an impact if the background were different. So kudos to the photographer.
love the patched sweater...effortless chic
http://cito-gene.blogspot.com/
MY GAWD!! This is as basic as one can get without being nekkid!
love the elbow patches! hate the shoes
Love this outfit! The jeans, sweater and scarf.
But the shoes... Not really.
Adorable ;)
everything looks better with APC :)
Casual and comfortable with a twist of style. Like it.
I love seeing Danskos on this site! This is exactly how I dress (in the winter in Northern California!) when I'm not in the office, although I prefer clogs without the exposed staples. That's an important detail. Sanita (which I think is owned by Danskos) makes some. I think you have to look with more creative eyes to see that this look can be very sexy.
kinda thought you were fishing until i took a closer look. nice eye
I truly love the clogs. Classy, grounded, artistic.
The split on the sweater stands out to me in a very good way
Brown Eyed Girl: All I have to say is, quoted for truth! I'm big on this comfy-looking combo, and I pretty much am full-on coveting the sweater with elbow-patches.
elbow patch and clog slip on show LOVE :))
yum!
xo.
http://dropsofjupiterBLOG.com
That jumper is perfection, exactly the kind I've been lusting over for months x
This is really very East coast. Relaxed and lovely.
Dislike the shoes. They belong in the hospital ward and kitchen where they have a function. Her style and outfit is beautiful.
helentilstonpainter.blogspot.com
Very Nice :)
i love my dansko shoes, too (aka the most comfy, practical, go-to shoes ever made). she looks comfortable and stylish!
The classic East Coast preppy-granola hybrid always works when it's worn without pretense--and the shoes are just right for eliminating any pretension.
Winter in NY this year is meh! Very uninspiring. Where are all the beautiful coats/bags/shoes we saw last year?
I love the patch and the scarf. She's also wearing surgery shoes...
(You know, the clogs that won't let a scalpel go through them, that are easy to slip on, and comfortable for standing for five hours?)
windeater.blogspot.com
The patches remind me of a sportcoat I saw a guy wearing in Baltimore once, they were shaped like skulls but done in a very clean, simple design. Either way, very classic.
I love Danskos. I wear them every day. For those who don't like them, just wear them once. Then see if you wear anything else after that. :-)
love the ring !
it's about time you show Danskos some luv! Comfy stylish chicks everywhere say "thank you."
I LOVE elbow patches :] classy. Nice catch
i love this. this is my fashion!!! and it's real.
gorgeous.
Agreee with 82 Brute, this picture comes tohgether because of the blue context, i.e. background storefront, painted blue standpipe.....and even the bluish cast to the concrete sidewalk. Without the backdrop, the outfit is utilitarian and unremarkable.....and nothing wrong with dat. BTW, Dansko Professionals rule.
NOTHING cooler than the original "stapled professional" Dansco clog: anchors any look--am I right?
Love her eye.
I got a little excited when I saw this pic. Immediately loved the the blue then I saw the shoes! I started my Dansko obsession a few years ago and am always asked what they are. A great shoe, most comfortable ever and look very cool if you pick the right one. They are not just nursing shoes. The hard part is finding the entire range. Can't buy them in Australia so I hunt them down online.
So great to see this amid your long roll of designer shots! Merry Christmas xxx
i love the ring and the patch...but that could sound a little strange if ever taken out of context. promise you won't? okay. sweet. thanks a mil.

http://adayinlifetoo.blogspot.com (come on by! it's my daily fashion blog, and it's fun and only mildly obnoxious. most of the time time.)
To those who "don't get the shoes" - The shoes are beyond New York - just sayin.
jeans and black sweater, basic outfit, i think i wouldn' bind it with clogs! but it's just my opinion.

When did you take this picture of me?? I even own those shoes, mine are Josef Seibel, and despite their 'surgery' appearance, great comfy shoes. The patch makes that sweater.
I have those clothes in my closet! And the same haircut! Oh my. Does this mean I'm stylish?
clogs: barf!
Perfection.
I loved...
It almost sounds like some people are defending those shoes, which suggests that they are aware of the hard truth. To them, I say, it's okay to wear comfortable shoes, but lets not delude ourselves about their being attractive.
love the elbow patch much

Great look!!!!

One defense for the shoes is that there was a sale going on at APC Soho which was probably when this pic was taken. Their staffers stand and walk and climb stairs all day. You really do want some comfortable shoes to wear. For those who haven't been, the APC Soho store is gorgeous and and their staff is extremely friendly.
The building's color facade complements nicely with her wardrobe colors. (Clogs are ugly, though. They always look cheap, no matter how expensive.)
love the chunked-up socks with clogs
Scott, The background for the photo is great. The color saturation of the clothing and the background are perfect. You made a nice, but rather ordinary, outfit look extraordinary.
I love the elbow patches on the sweater. The pop of color on the socks is nice as well.
My Heart Blogged
Another Danskos fan here. I even have an old pair made with what I consider faux pony hide. I've worn Danskos for years; they're perfect for my feet. As a land architect, I walk a lot on different kinds of ground and concrete and the Danskos can take it.
I did wear a pair in Italy during a month long trip. I think I was the only one in the whole country wearing them. Too bad. Anyway, to the european woman who wanted to know where to get them, I think Danskos are manufactured in Germany, but am not positive about that. In any case, they are available online. You also can probably get them in walking shoe type stores.
My own style is often like the woman in the photo.
I had to laugh re the posters from northern california and oregon - I don't live there now, but I have lived there. Danskoville...
Classic NY look: the styles are simple, but high-quality, and the colors look beautiful together. Great shot. But isn't she cold?
I love the brown and blue combination of the sweater, elbow patches and the scarf. Simple, yet a great casual look!

Patches are a must for this season! Her style is totally relaxed, we love the simplicity of it!

very cozy and simple...but for some reason theirs something different about this. I love it and would love a sweater with the patchwork like that!
http://myatypicalmantality.blogspot.com/
Apc sweater with elbow patch is so cool, but this sweater is made in China....
Love the PATCH. The BLUE, BROWN, BURGUNDY and peeping GRAY. The Silver ring and black rock. BUT eeeewwww are those Swanx she's wearing?!? They are UGLY.- Milan Cu.
I liked the silent and naive combo except the netherlands clog looking dull shoes, sorry.
She made me a latte this morning.
thre little details make look different,I love especially her ring
Elbow pad sweaters are so cool. feel like english rugby coming into play :)
Great pics, love the brown scarf!
www.abitoffashion.com
strange, we already had patches on ladies' knits for this season in holland and germany and it was a great succes. for men's it is completely over. had it for 2 seasons and last season it was already less contrasty
I started to scroll down, unveiling a nice everyday italian style look and then... I saw the shoes. Don't tell me the 'comfy' story people. If you want to go comfy, pick loafers, brogues, allstars, whatever...just not clogs. Thank you.
Have I mentioned that I have an obsession with the brown & blue look? It is great to see it back (with a vengeance?) everywhere in the world. I also love the simplicity of the look: simplicity is a key word of fashion in NYC, Paris, Milan (unfortunately, not in London).
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
I love this photo, I think it's amazing.
This is amazing
That scarf is amazing
I love that woolen jacket.
http://www.silk-soul.com/
Simple, casual and classic. The combination of little touches give the look -it-. (argyle socks would look smashing with this.)
Really awesome. Thanks for share with us. Buy sarees, salwar kameez, Lehenga choli from sareez.com...
Strange shoes? I've never seen similar pair before!May be closed-clogs?
I love how she is sitting in front of a blue building. She probably color coordinated her jeans knowing she would be there that day. Oh, and the shoes are to die for...And I would bet that the cell phone is color coordinated also. She is so amazing!
This is soooo amazing! I love the look and she sits there with such incredible style. The left hand is placed in a position that just says Attitude!
Liking the ring, not sure about the shoes though
You're absolutely right--it's the great details that make this straightforward look special.
LOVING clogs these days...these ones are perfect.
its all about the elbow patch.
CESTDEMODE.blogspot.com
awesome
Love the color combo and whole outfit; also because she's not trying so hard to be hip and photograph-able!
this pic is obviously taken outside of APC, and she obviously either (i) works there or (ii) has great allegiance to their F/W--she's covered in it
the sweater is great i love the way she wore these socks, but the shoes... not sure about them.
Those who pick on one particular item totally miss the point. This woman, her calmness, the details are stunning. The rest, like her shoes, is the foundation. As a straight guy (whether that matters here or not), I'm nevertheless inspired by this shot. She's cool. Those stuck on one item or another aren't.
It was very funny to see comments about what brand the shoes are. Danskos. They are the shoes people wear when they are on their feet doing work like teaching, nursing, and other helping type occupations where sitting down is a luxury. So for those of you getting all uppity about someone wearing something not so trendy or stylish I say...walk in our feet and see if you don't change your mind! In my eyes she looks absolutely perfect.
Just ordinary clothes.
Love the ring and the sweater.
the shoes are from dansko. or i like to call them. nurse shoes :) very comfy despite the clog look...
I have to agree with "Anonymous" that YES, stylish & comfy chicks agree... love that you shot a girl in Danskos. Even if it was for her ring & elbow patches... I LOVE these shoes and consider myself a fairly stylish girl. :) So consider my joy when I see them on your blog! Well done! Well done!
not danskos!!! what is this, forefrontfashion.com?! how very maine.
FRESH!
tuxandtie.blogspot.com | twitter.com/tuxandtie
I like that. That would actually even a possibility for me because it looks easy.
This looks like it could've been shot here in Huntington Beach, CA. It's so casual and laid back.
http://lisapetrarca.blogspot.com
Love the Danskos and that is the first thing I noticed. I almost wear them exclusively...I am not a chef, a nurse or other. I am a designer! Been wearing them for years, so comfy. for those who don't like them, just wait...you'll be wearing them in a few....very on trend.
dayum thats nice. i feel like i have a similar sweater
Love 'em or hate 'em, Danskos CAN be ROCKED! Cool socks, no socks, tights and a teeny skirt, jeans with just the right length (like hers)or rolled...Some of us just can't wear stilettos (in my case, a slight gait disability). Rock what you've got!!
Love the scarf.
indiaboxall
Love it! Clogs are my best friend even when everyone raises an eyebrow at Dansko clogs. They are wonderful!
I don't even consider them a guilty pleasure because they are just superb.
Of course, the rest of the details with this outfit are lovely as well :)
old money. except that the jeans are not boot cut. great shot. Nice hair.
The few colors take command of this shot: engaging blues, including the sizable ring; browns in the scarf, and the brown and gold in the window's reflection, and the purple of the socks.
The little tuft of light blue of the shirt peeking out from under the sweater and the print on the window. Gee Scott - did you do all of that on purpose? Even if so it just doesn't matter - it is the playful presentation of the hues and shades that make it a wonderful ride for the eye.
even the detailed stitching on the jeans is great .. and Danskos are so comfortable, you can't hate..
outside of the a.p.c. store in soho.. in their raw denim jeans and pullover.. perfect harmony.
i've got a cardigan just like this :)
love the look! x
Shoes name - træsko. we have them here in Denmark. so cool...
it's so lovely to see the clogs done well!
Wow, so nice to see so many people loving the Danskos! I have worn them for ten years as a chef and am always mortified if I have to go anywhere before/after working and am just too lazy to bring other shoes (or even just to change my shoes...). They are truly great for your feet, though, and for 15-plus hour days the only thing that one can wear. When all kinds of clogs started getting trendy a few years ago I thought how funny it was. I guess I don't have to feel like such a dirtbag wearing them outside of the kitchen. Hehe. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
To me she comes across as comfortable, poised and assured. I agree that she looks like a artist, or at least many working artists that I've known.
And seriously, what's so unattractive about clogs? They don't turn her feet into overt sex objects, true, but that's okay. There are way uglier shoes out there. Feet slammed forward in skyscraper heels -- flesh bulging through straps and chains, toes scrunched or poking over the edge of the sole, bunions and hammertoes -- are just as unattractive to others.
Her style decisions have made her hands a visual focal point. If you're turned on by strong, capable-looking, creative women (because that ring is a dead giveaway -- it takes a definite personality to casually rock something that large) you'd notice them, and her.
I think everything she has on was chosen deliberately, including the shoes. It pleases me to imagine she's aware of the history of the city where she lives (once "New Amsterdam") and is offering up a sly little nod to Dutch culture.
To me, it's style that doesn't get in the way of living.
Dankos are great! The socks are a nice detail. Love it! Really simple but cute outfit!

It is all good.casual and polished at the same time.
Looks like 90% of women in the northeast on any given saturday.
Danskos may be comfy but they really are just too hideous for words
Sweet sweater. It looks warm and comfortable.
She looks like Stacy L., who has an office only a few blocks away.
What intrigues me the most is she's definately doing the minimalist approach, her center pieces are the purple socks and her brown scarf, including the slip on shoes, overall its a good look, for doing day to day things.

j'adore, très subtile...
Love the patch and the colours! Timeless
what a fantastic sweater! horrid shoes though :x

Did I already tell you to come to Oakland, California to take pictures of high schoolers? Well if Oakland is out of your way you could just take pictures of high schoolers in general. Im curious to see what interesting things people my own age are doing with their clothes.
