Comments on "On the Street....Glove Hat, Paris"
Not to mention everything else! The sleeveless/cape-ish trench is wonderful. Perfect neutral to the boldness of the pattern of her shirt-dress, too.
This is beautiful... I've never seen such a coat...
Such a beautiful combination of colors' too.
K.cyrus
Well this is too much for me :))
and the mouse tail coming out of the pocket??
I like her a lot.

Flaming Nora, love her whole ensemble!! This is why I absolutely love Paris!
Gloves on her head? Genius
The future belongs to original people.
She's wonderful.
Olimpia
amazing! The glove hat, so chic!
Interesting. I'm excited that hats seem to be coming more popular though!
Pocket of Presh
my first thats just ''thats just plain stupid''...yet, reminds me of the shoe hat from Schiaparelli ...
my first reaction was ''that's just plain stupid''...but then it reminds me of the shoe hat by Schiaparelli ...
Love her hat but the entire outfit is a knock out of the park!
this makes me smile:)
A NEW GENIOUS!!
Very inventive.

I thought if someone would really wear that. Thank you Scott for the answer! (:
Brave girl!
That blazer thing she wear... I like it!
Peace and love!
Thats such an amazing hat, and unorthodox too but still delightful. Amazing sleeveless trench :O
this looks is amazing, loving the head piece

funny
very interesting!!
xo.

multi-purpose. if her hands get cold, she can put her glove on.
Wow this is awesome! I love how she looks a little amused by her look.
Great one!
omg, i really love this outfit! not necessarily the hat, but much rather the coat with that dress. and her face!!!
xoxo

This reminds me of that glove shirt from The September Issue that Anna Wintour rolls her eyes at Grace Coddington for...

She is adorable!!!!
this whole look is incredible and just slightly off kilter. both the hat and the trench are such traditional items but they have been completely turned on their head. i adore this look and her simple calm posture. gorgeous photo. the hat is just one part of what makes it so captivating. xx
Well, I guess you wouldn't misplace them this way.
Forget the hat, I'm in love with that trench cape/jacket! Looks brilliant with the geometric dress under it!
How creative! Such a unique look overall...from the mixed patterns to the trench/cape...fabulous!

beautiful!!! she looks so pretty :)
http://vannoybfashion-ronisha119.blogspot.com
frankly, anybody else would have looked like an ass-hat if they had attempted to pull off the same look.
great picture! I love the hat but also the combination of the cardigan and the coat!
That bold and original!
haha love the glove hat:)
Wow! Who is this? She's great! I mean, the hat AND the jacket. So cool.
Amazing!!
Absolutely love the outfit. Not sure about the gloves someone left on her head ... but love the sheer bravado of the outfit. And how eye-catching it is!
Reminds me of Delia Deetz!
Admiring the glove hat!
I'm not sure how I feel about this hat. Part of me gives her credit for wearing it, and the other part of me wishes she hadn't worn it...
fridayswithcilantro.blogspot.com
she's a piece of art
What a coincidence....Just blogged about the same girl today on www.TheIonFashion.com ...great minds think alike! Hats off to gloves!!!
love the color scheme !
the gloves r from Dolce&Gabbana right?
Love the outfit (and as always your photography), but I must say find the hat plain odd.
I wouldn't call it a hat, rather a headpiece. A wonderful one nonetheless.
This lady is radiating so much style and class, it made my eyes go moist there for a second.
Just beautiful.
awesome!
what i'm more thrilled about is that jacket and the way this gal is wearing it.
so creative.
rad!
http://jimjims.net
Wow, what an inspired outfit and what a fab look! This is truly unique!
Istanbulboy
Hmm. I think I would have liked this better with matching white Russian veiling, not black, which can be barely seen here. Great idea..perfect for that one glove without its mate!
OMG, soooo cool! I love it!
Interesting contrasting components.
she is just dripping with inspiration and charm!
so quirky and chic and the same time! love it
Love the jacket!
The trench/cape is amazing. Looks like something by either Martin Margiela or Junya Watanabe.
Regardless or whom it's made by...2thumbs-up!!
Glove-hat is really unique, too.
reminds me of beetlejuice :)
Wow I love this.I have a very eccentric family which used to embarrass me as a teenager now im like 'bring it on' eccentric my behind. Fashion forward more like.
Reminds me of one of those fabulous outfits in the movie Beetlejuice- didn't Catherine O'Hara wear a pair of tied black gloves on her head?
I love this twist on the classic trench. The print is a nice surprise. I think I'll pass on the glove hat for now.

a little too much
www.thebigiofactor.blogspot.com
Unique, but i think it is not working :(
I love her whole look!!! This is how dressing up should always be - fun and different!!
Gloved hat an homage to Elsa Schiaparelli.
op art suit tribute to cardin in the 60's.
miltary inspired " jacape" ( can we start a new word for jacket/cape?) reminiscent of YSL in 68.
Very Fluxus.
Bon Chic Bon Genre. Love it!

Very different.. I'm basically short on words here.
Angels Point of View - Street Fashion Blog
I find this adorable. Who can not think the glove hat is not cute. She is very put together and a little eccentric at the same time. It makes for an interesting photo. I'd love to see it in black and white for a more artistic standpoint.
I do like your post ,totally high fashion...
This is a very interesting look.
www.chic-lux.com
No no no no.
Wait!
Sorry, no.
The trench is a normal trench that she modified, no? The sleeves are pinned back and attached somehow and she made new holes for her arms to go through. Or is this not her original creation?
But, I love the scarf!
Oh wow she's so cute and I love the cape/poncho/outerwear thing she's wearing xxx
http://reallyliteral.blogspot.com/
I love a good whimsical headpiece.
wooow, it doesn't look bad at all!!! and I love her trench/cape, her whole outfit is great...
http://sweetlittleconfessions.blogspot.com/
How can you not love this?
Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

YOKO!!!
what's that shes wearing on her head? gloves?
so chic! so chic! so chic! so chic!
http://parisx3.blogspot.com
OMG
but WHY? :) I mean what for?? :) Why these are not socks? I don't get it. :)
My mom's told me stories about women pinning gloves or handkerchiefs into their hair when they forgot to bring their hats to church in pre-Vatican II days. This looks like a fun take on that tradition. (and while I don't usually like trench coats--yes, I know, I'm a fashion heretic--I like the odd little cape-coat thingie, too.)
Forget the hat! The clothes are amazing!!
Oooh very Schiaparelli love it
SUPERCOOL!!!

This defines japanese (in paris) style for me
Interesting and Eccentric

Cute but very funny and strange. Like a lady from somebody's fantasy movie.
I'm so delighted to have found your blog!
Stunning outfit! I love every piece of it
http://maddenim.blogspot.com/
do you want know when "fashionables"
westerns (we all!) will get in that
perspex / sense of style and attitude? sorry to say: NEVER! EFFORTLESS DI-VI-NE!
the trench and the dress are original but I don't like the hat
stunning! <3
www.abitoffashion.com
Oh my, this is fantastic!
What's not to love about this?
http://lhabitue.blogspot.com
The coat combined with the grid print shirt dress is fab and obviously the "glove hat" ha! fantastic. I like it how she tones the outfit down with the casual looking scarf so she doesn't look too serious... or she could have borrowed it off her boyfriend coz she was cold?? :)
winnsomesmile.blogspot.com
The glove-hat looks fabulous on her, who will we next see wearing it, perhaps Keith Richards or Johnny Depp??
I love the photography and her posture but I thought about the gloves hat several times but I didn't get to me.
LOx
The pattern of the shirt is completely mesmerizing, gorgeous and unexpected, love love!
i really like this, so interesting!
I'm sorry, but for me it's hilarious!
Love the dress & coat, but I would think the hat looks odd; like someone on the last train accidentally dropped their gloves on her head. The rest is fabulous, though!
Love this unusual hat and style.
I personally hate that jacket. Leighton Meester wore it on an episode of Gossip Girl and I couldn't help giggling that she looked like a box with arms that could barely rest at her sides. However, on this woman, awkwardness is beauty. She is wearing a pair of gloves on her head, for crying out loud! This woman can pull off anything.
Nice hat!!!
The trench-cape is just an awful garment, I hope it will be a very short-lived trend. This girl has true natural beauty, and she is really carrying the strange glove-hat very well, but sorry: the cape just spoils the whole look.
Her outfit is creative but wearable, love it <3
Terrific! So much play with tradition. Thoughtful combination. Love her.
very beautiful combination...nice shot
I just adore her. Personal style always reigns supreme over head to toe fashion.
I think she made the cape from an old trench, so kudos to her for such originality. Speaking of which... the whole thing is so original, it's breathtaking.
Jaja funny headpiece :D I love trench-cape with checked dress
Jaja qué tocado divertido.Me encanta la capa-trench con el vestido de cuadros
The "hat"--I mean hat--has such graceful lines, delicate color. An altogether creamy grace note to a playful, puckish look.
all very amusing.
Love your look and your gloves haha
www.coolneeded.com
Is that really her hat or is she at some event requiring head covering? (She does look like she's waiting for something.)
Is any one else old enough to remember when hats were required for women in Catholic churches (this is pre-Vatican II) and certain civil ceremonies? (Recall the to-do when HM Queen Elizabeth did not wear a hat to Charles and Camilla's wedding.) Back then if one had to step into a sanctuary unexpectedly it was acceptable to put your gloves on your head so it was "covered." To me is screams, "I forgot my hat!"
I wonder if the designer was inspired by some old photographs. For me the association makes it look jury-rigged rather than stylish.
It's so interesting to me how when I look at a new photo, I have an immediate, overall, reaction. And then I read some of the comments and something makes me look again. In this case, the colors, are, interesting. But overall, the woman seems unable to make up her mind. The hat is clever and unusual, but it gets lost in the outfit....the coat is different..but not practical. If it's cold enough for a wool scarf, maybe some sleeves would be a good idea? I can appreciate the effort.
Alice in Wonderland meets the Addams family...
she looks like she's waiting to go on a runway for a fashion show... is this really street fashion? whoaa
-rnbwblln
Adorable...so winsome.
it can be very handy when you feel your hands clod :) fabulous!
The glove hat is interesting, but I love that scarf.
windowshopz.com
...no doubt she's original. Haven't seen head-wearing gloves before!!! :P
The new Elsa Sciaparelli .
Hm. To be in the mind of this woman....
And look at her face! Yeah, shes bad. And she knows it.
Amazing outfit! I don't like the hat though.
I wouldn't trust anybody that didn't like something about this look. Where's their sense of living for fun?
funny ;) but too much for me ...
yeah its to much for me too.. come on.. glove hat?,.. maybe she forgot them there, just saying!, anyway.. i love your blog :) saying hi from argentina!
GENIUS. I want to know: who is she? What does she do? What is she dressed for? SO Japanese in Paris.
Very unique and bold!
www.itsbellatime.blogspot.com
Interesting, given her diffident expression and pose.
That reminds me, sometimes I like to use my socks as a scarf.
she looks like mona lisa
Well you have to hand it to her..;)
Too many attention-grabbing pieces...
Very overwhelming.
Maybe if the tones were the same, then it would work...
The hat says she's trying too hard.
It is her grave and beautiful face, her containment and air of strict discipline that make this outfit exsquisite and timeless.
Funny...i like everything about this look BUT the hat. Just not doing it for me.
genius! wanna know how to hang the gloves..
I think her face is what is most interesting about this photo... it is very unusual, strange yet it draws you, just like the outfit :)
That´s perfect! Very good combination and original hat.
Great Coincidence...!! One of my hat desings from my latest collection is quite similar to that one!! But it also have a ring on it!! Pure Vintage...Do you want to have a look??? Come and see masQmay...By the way...great photo she's pale and shy, but cannot avoid the eyes on her, is what she's looking for...
www.masqmay.blogspot.com
love the jacket!
http://ididitallbymyselfmummy.blogspot.com/
weird hat. love everything else though..
perfect.. and she gave justice to that headdress.

utterly charming
I LOVE THIZ OUTFIT BECAUZE IT CHALLENGEZ CONVENTIONAL STYLE. WE NEED MORE OF THIZ!!!!
She is amazing and haunting.
Anyone know where to get this scarf? I love the red/black combo!
http://accidentalnerd.blogspot.com
Look again. It's a pair of gloves sitting on her head.
too much
That head peace is just too cute.
ps. love ur blog, when will we see u on the streets of Stockholm?
I think this either must be genius or crazy, but in any case it's nice to see someone who has their own sense of style.

this is DOLCE & GABBANA's idea!!!
mm...what's black and white and camel all over?
loving this the shot!
.. now this made me laugh, like at the whole fashion scene at large, of course in a friendly manner
:-). the jacket's cool, the hat is just too much!
i don't think i am a fan of the glove hat.
http://amberandgang.blogsopt.com
It looks funny....and not in a good way.
love everything except the glove hat. teh trench and the dress are beautiful.
I love her face...
and clothing. everything.
but hat is.......... forget it.
This takes me back to the shoe hat!!! <3
http://concreteandstilettos.blogspot.com/
The hat is a copy of DOLCE & GABBANA!!!
its different and eye catching dont get me wrong im not quite sure about the beautiful. the colours go excellently though together
http://myheadandwardrobe.blogspot.com
Quirky, interesting, love it.
Adore the outfit but not the headpiece at all.
LOVE LOVE LOVE...now this is a person who truly enjoy's fashion and speaks through fashion!
too bad she didn't get her sleeves tailored to the correct length.
crazy
this is my friend toi! i love the quirkiness of the glove hat, as well as her coat and cardigan... she is something truly quite unique when you consider what other people living in shanghai dress like...
the cardigan is from chinese designer uma wang (http://umawang.com/en/), definitely the top designer in china right now... but toi is a great designer in her own right as well! if you want to follow their work and the work of other chinese designers, please visit:
chinesepeoplehavenostyle.wordpress.com
oh I tried this coat on here in SHanghai and I really loved it but was not sure its good enough, now i see, i am going back:D
fun!!!
The coat... A full trench version in black would be an sartorial adventure.
