Stylish, original, simple, tailored and stunning.
The blueish tint of the black fabrics, the multiple greys, the splash of colour in the green and orange leaves on the ground and her luminous skin colour makes this photo a real treat.
gorgeous. Love the proportions and the menswear look on a simply stunning women.
breathtaking. Annie Hall for the new millennium.
I like the sexy tomboy look...

So fabulous I could die! The pants, the shoes, the bag. Oh fab!

She looks great. Women in menswear or androgynous attire never gets old to me, no matter how many times I see it on the sartorialist or on the street. It always looks so classic.

I like the proportions in this look.
She took a boring concept and made it look cool. Plain menswear, black & grays, no makeup... I love the contrast of the baggy pants & fitted pea coat Great pic. Wish I could see more of the bag.
I love the double-breasted coat!

her hat is GREAT! i have one very similar that used to be my great grandfathers. i plan on fitting it into my fall and winter wardrobe a lot.
I love this. So much.
Much love,
B
Very lovely

Hmmm ... She has a chic Charlie Chaplin feel to the style ... That's a conflicting one for me, I don't entirely like it, but there is something captivating about it ... Great shot!
Perfect!
http://lhabitue.blogspot.com
I quite like that, but not so much the hat, somehow. The shoes are great.
What a beautiful model. She is the fleur du jardin (flower of the garden)!

i will second photodiarist' comment, sick proportions. It like annie hall met with rae kawakubo and had a lovechild. and that hat, ummmmmm-azing! but whatt makes me happy is her socks. mid length socks always put a smile on my face. =)
Classic, simple style with her own twist. Love it.

Greetings from Charlie Chaplin´s Little Tramp, of course very enriched and refined and updated to this millennium. Adorable!
LOVE
she is dress like a boy but she is fashionable like a girl!

i want this outfit!!
i recently got a brown pair of shoes very similar to these. I've found they are too masculine to wear with most of my pants, and I was having a hard time figuring out how to wear them and still look feminine. this is exactly what i needed! now for the rest of the outfit.
Fantastic ~
Hi Scott,
I just finished a story on coats and came across your wonderful photos via Art of the Trench.
I am thrilled to find your fascinating blog and your book.
I know it will be a welcomed addition to the post.
I look forward to visiting often, your story, photos and style are very inspiring.
All the best,
Lisa Porter
Wow.... Classic.

This is too perfect! The brown hat topping off a navy outfit! Love it!
I think this works for her... in a boyish way.
great style, i love it!
I love that name: 'The Jardin des Tuileries'. Has a magical mystery ring to it. The look is magical too.
I love the expression, priceless!

I love the proportions of this, and the hat just makes it. I wish I had a hat like this, a kind of fedora. It's great.
This outfit reminds me of Charlie Chaplin! I love it!
OMG the look is to die for on her and if she isn't a model, she should be. Love the brogans!
the hat is so funky and cool! love it!

Not loving the pants, but her hat, coat, the bag (especially the bag) and she herself is beautiful!
love it! Especially the hat. :)
PARIS! WANT the hat.
I like it, reminds thing of the boyfriend, it excellently looks, it is beautiful!!!)))
This look screams "pauper chic" to me! Love it. XOXO, Natalya's Closet
Nice mysterious girl !

Adorable
She looks like a poem.
Oh those eyes...They could not only pick me out but would lift me willingly out of the crowd.
You cannot beat deep blues and navy pea coats, brogues and a good classy framing hat.
she nailed it.
Very put together - she is young with great style that will grow as she will... dt
love those pants

She looks beautiful! I love clothes like these.
I love the androgyny. She is fabulous.
www.greeneggsandglam.blogspot.com
This is a great look: it more than nods to fashion, it's stylish and, best of all, ordinary mortals like myself could wear it without looking slavish.
I love her shoes!!
perfect inky navy 8 button pea jacket & gorgeous crocodile birkin.
This is pretty timeless. Simple rules, again. Plus great expression on her face.
Gorgeous!
Very beautiful and the side profile shot is fantastic

Am I the only one who's getting a little sick of this androgynous look by now? It feels a tad hackneyed, as if every cool girl who wants to be really modern just tosses on some oversized men's wear and calls it quits. I like it better when it's well and originally mixed with more feminine or unexpected pieces, at least, just for a little variety on the tired, too-literal "boyfriend" trend.
I wonder where she's going? Absolutely pure. Love her rich complexion and fabric/color combination.
No, Ami, no! I appreciate these androgynous looks very much. What I like most about them is that many of the women wearing this style seem so serene and in their own spaces. I love it.
It also does not seem as if any of them - at least on this blog - have "tossed" on anything. They occupy. I want more.
I like the menswear look, but I'd like to see more color at this point.
im not sure i like the super over-sized pants on her... looks a tad frumpy
that is a great look, especially because she is young and very pretty.
~i love the jacket but i tone down low on the pants - i think its way too much androgenous happening. im a fan though of high socks and school shoes.
meswear at its best!! she is beautiful...
http://sweetlittleconfessions.blogspot.com/
Nice style huh! folded tip of the pants. Cool.
Her look is so beautiful!
That look is very impressive. She got the look instead.
i think that's too masculine
I know this is all about the 'Clothes' - but her face says so much more, her personality lies there. Look at those piercing eyes!
Ah, I adore her expression - it's as if she's slightly taken a back, but is welcoming the photographer.
Love the Hat, too.
Excellent,
I love the cutting and silhouette without details useless.
And the nuances of these dark colors are very beautiful.
great look, simple & masculin!

Nice, that's just outside me here in Paris... staying in town?
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of this look overall, I like the top half but not too keen on the bottom.
great look and wonderful pic, well done! she's so cute!

I'm all about hats at the moment, and I found one that was my grandpa's. Also, exploring different socks and shoes looks. Great pic!

I love her coat!nice combination!!
I like the different textures ...and her face.
The first time i was in Paris (1995) i was impressed with the proud beauty of african women.
Love it from the top of her head to the tippy of her toes.
ohhhh so this is how I can wear my hat! Perfection.

The Little Tramp meets Garbo.
so right up my alley! love, love, love this look...
Great look! Not too many people could pull this look off but she definitely does it well!
Effortless, and yet so elegant!
Hats seem to be making a comeback...I am so happy!
Great! So sophisticates!
http://umbrellabeachfashion.blogspot.com/
Sensational! and what a great contrast to those chicks who pile on one status symbol after another and think they're well-dressed. they ain't.
perfection all around, in particular the expression on her sweet face. really lovely.
She's either a private eye or an apothecary.
www.jrocomedy.blogspot.com
Late to the party. Similar to the brown jacket/skirt pic. This one's about personal style/silhouette. I would wear long pants with the brogues or longer pants with a heel, but this look from top to bottom totally works for her. Adorable.
Wow!!! She is gorgeous
http://hippiebar.blogspot.com/
the hat makes the whole look. brava!
Love this! Dark with dark--using nuances in colour and texture is wonderful.
I love it until I get to the hemline. It would be much richer if the pants were a traditional length. It looks a little cartoonish as is.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE PANTS. the exaggeration makes the look. thanks for this.
I love total black!!!!
she is SO pretty!
whatta wonderful face set atop a wonderfully clothed body! the irony and naivety of it all...
scrolling down i did not expect such an ensemble. but it works, nonetheless!
a photos that doesn't scream chic....
its just silently is.
How utterly delicious!
Best fashion my eyes have seen today.
all black ensembles continually inspire my taste in fashion and design.
i like the contrast of her feminine face with this menswear look. beautiful. love the shoes.
Love the look of black texture, shiny and flat, baggy and form fitted and then....best of all; your stunning depiction of color from leaves to face. Marvelous shot Mr. Magic Scott.
Beautiful black woman with such grace and mystery.
Dear Mr. Sartorialist:
Please find her again and phtotgraph till your finger gets tired.
Sincerely,
Smitten
Her dark feminin looks and the menswear outfit against that backdrop is just too cool.
a beautiful softlooking girl in contrast to strong menswear, this is perfect!! i love it so so much!
Love,love...<3<3<3
