Comments on "On the Street...SCAD student, Savannah"
Wonderful composition and beautiful model. I love these beautiful pictures from the South (?).
Cute as a button!

she's lovely
Although I'd personally pair this with a different bag/shoes, she is SO adorable in her little white dress and socks! And definitely a different look to see on here - although I appreciate the unexpected!

I love a teenager dressed as such... no make up, no tatoos, no goth anything, just pure innocent beauty. Love the whole photo, the leaves in the sidewalk, the old houses... the sense of permanency, an image of what life should be, simple.
My goodness!
I adore her dress!
And her look is completely adorable!!
She looks adorable, so pretty and feminine. I have those same shoes although I haven't worn them in a while xoxo
That is such a beautiful delicate dress.

a bit Lolita chic!
Looks a bit like classic, old chic because of the dress and the shoes with socks, wouldn't be there the backpack which takes the whole outfit back in the 21. century…
Beautiful and lovely look!
What's a SCAD student?
This is a great photo. Love the backdrop.

adore this picture!!!

http://lekisskiss.blogspot.com <-- Texas gal bloggin fashion from NYC!
As the picture loaded I knew she'd have some link to japanese lolita fashion! lol at pointing out her bag choice, it's just a backpack because she's a student... not a fashion statement.
lovely!!
she is all innocence..how lovely.. a teenager properly dressed..
Shot beautifully composed.
pretty little girl
what a wonderful dress
Great shot Scott. The leaves on the ground signaling fall, the sweet white dress dispelling the age old rumor, "No white after Labor Day." See everyone, it's OKAY to wear white in the fall!

What a great photo. This photo is a nice middle finger to those "anonymous" commenters who accuse you of only photographing editors. Kudos to you for mixing it up. Love it.
I love the photo and her shoes are really cute.

@Sian :
Savannah College of Art and Design - one of the best design schools out there!
I love this shot - the spanish moss gives it such a beautiful, dreamy look
lovely dress plus wonderful skin = perfect combination.
Beautiful...

beautiful girl with a natural sense of style. I love how she's not imitating a lot of the fad fashion her age group tend to follow.
very nice!

I love all of your southern shots. Savannah and the awesome people who live there are especially lovely as made evident in this picture. But you should come to Charleston too!
aw, my brother went to SCAD. I almost did, too. I lovelovelove Savannah.
<3
how lovely she looks! i can't get over it!
college students have swag. there should be a lot more college student pictures.
SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!

I absolutely love this outfit. Freaking delightful.
And for those wondering, SCAD is an acronym for the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Duffy Street again!
Who knew it was the crossroads of fashion....
great shot!
We sometimes comment that a girl has dressed too old for her age. In this case, as she is presumably a college student (SCAD), she seems to have dressed way too young for her age. She looks like a sixth grader. It's mostly due to the shoes and socks.
I live in downtown savannah,
hope you had a fun visit!
I love everything about this picture.
Personally I feel like she's trying to be too cute. I'd rather she bring in some extra element to make it not look so... childish. I have seen 6 year olds wear the exact same thing.
I love everything about this picture.
Really nice... and girls with dresses and bookbags aren't normally pulled off well.. lovely.
love the white color. This photo with the lace, the socks, the bagpack... is pure innocence
love this

Thanks Anonymous!
I would love to go to SCAD and live in Savannah. It's beautiful there and so much to do!!
She is lovely! That dress is darling! :)
Cute look!

Reminds me of my days back at art school. With artsy students though, it's hard to tell if the look they have is a purposeful personal statement ...or not. I really like this one though.
I love your photographs of young people! They highlight the equanimity and democracy of your eye.
It's almost editorial! perfect for teen vogue!
I really love looks that so gorgeous. She is worthy to be a model. :-)
She has a quiet strength about her! Lovely photo.

So Cute.. ;))

Double track response. She looks refreshingly fresh, but I (seriously) worry about the sociological implications of girls dressing too young, or too old, for their age. Alas, short comments don't allow a full and pondered exchange of thoughts on this complex topic.
--Love the shot of Savannah, though, thanks. Have wanted to visit the city since reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."
awesome composition and contrast in colors.
model does look a bit younger, but way to mix it up!

SCAD! My alma mater!I miss Savannah, Great city! I love the outfit its cute and shows the creative spirit of Savannah.
This look could be saccherine, but her stance and confidence suggest that there's steel under that lace and that she's working the Lolita look consciously and with a bit of irony. Very cool. Beautiful photo, too--while I love the fashion, half the reason I come to this site is the beautiful photos themselves.
she is very very lovely
Yay SCAD! Sadly I was not out and about yesterday to see this happen :( oh well, that art history isn't going to study itself...
love the contrast beetween black & white!

perfect dress...lovely outfit
Sweet composition!! And I adore her dress too.. :)
Great photo! Come by the Ballastone Inn this afternoon for tea. We are in the heart of the historic district in Savannah and you are likely to get a few great pics in this area... We are a big fan of your blog and love that you are in our beautiful city!
She's so cute!!
Love the contrast between her summer dress and the dead autumn leaves on the ground!

she's got such a beautiful dress :)
So cute.

OMG, cutest dress ever!
The little 3 1/2 year old I nanny for immediately said "She is SO pretty. She has a flower in her hair and is wearing such a pretty dress." You know you've got something when a child breaks out of their little world to notice you!! Gorgeous.
I do not see any style in this girl. You, Americans, have a very strange sense of taste.
I might put her in some tougher shoes, but she is gorgeous! and the background--the brick, picket fence, spanish moss...beam me there pls!
this is a very cute outfit! love it. you should take pictures of college students more. SCAD is a good school and all, but i go to MICA and it's awesome! come to baltimore some time, i promise, MICA students make some of the most interesting style choices i've ever seen. =)
Great photo, Sart!
lovely dress!
Wowm she's really lovely...and fresh!
Isn't it intersting how It's fashionable for a woman to wear socks, even with sandals, but it's fashionable for a man to wear not socks, even in leather dress shoes and his poor feet will get blisters and STINK so bad. Either way, everyone is making a statement with socks, or lack there of.
She is soo beautiful!!!!
I loved well dressed little children. Just precious.

This also is America. Feminine but strong. Young, but wise. Insouciant, but with a guarded optimism.
Never count us out.
I very much like the composition of this shot.
The leaves, the overhanging trees, the houses on the right. Very fairy taly.
And of course we have Alice smack in the middle.
Everything about this photo is beautiful. Love the old neo-classic colonial Savannah architecture.
This fashionista deserves a 4.0!
www.jrocomedy.blogspot.com
amazing look! THE SOCKS ARE funni and shes is pretty!!!!!!!!!
I went to High School with this girl!! Nialla reppin School Without Walls!!!!!!!!
adorable
The prefect farewell to summer.
I love the dress and feel that it fits her beautifully. I'm really stuck by the overall tone and beauty of this shot.
Beautiful little girl. That dress is so south. Who makes it? So nice a crisp! ANd the shows with socks! She's got the look down!
Please check out photos from Paris Fashion Week's homage to the Burka, or something like it http://bit.ly/cAKiY9

cute cute cute!
http://fashion-london-life.blogspot.com/
Amazingly beautiful I love this mix of the old and new, the simplicity of the dress and the shoes with the socks and then the unexpected back pack. The backdrop is gorgeous.
Just gorgeous--the contrast of her dark skin and hair with the crisp lacey white is perfect.
I'm just as struck by the photo as I am by the dress and model. I love the lace dress and shoes. Perfect cut on the dress and the shoes are made for a dress like that.
Huh, "Baby the stars shine bright" shoes.
Or the Bodyline version of them...
she reminds me japanese street style....mari,south africa
Magnificent! Art! I am not being subjective! This is art! Swell with pride sir! As well you should!
magic
SCAD stands for the Savannah College of Art and Design. It's an art school in Savannah, Georgia. She's cute, but please come back to Savannah. There is so much potential for great pictures here!
love it.
so lovely!
OMG! I love how the child stands out stark against the slightly out of focus background-The white of the gate-the white socks-perfect balance.
The texture in this photo is gorgeous: sheer burnout white dress, the white of the turned Southern balustrade, chunky black shoes and backpack, the crunchy leaves and weathered brick, the filigree of the trees. I also love the way she's standing...she looks strong. There's great inspiration around this creative academic atmosphere!
love your blog... and girl snapped... too cute...
absolute, innocent beauty... i love it.
This is such a beautiful portrait.
Nialla.... as alaways LOVE the look!!!! your style certainly shows you have impecable taste when it come to fashion!!!
oh, sweet
wholesome..a rarity.
the whole shot feels like a capture of an era gone by in older south!
I actually scrolled down too quickly missing the title and knew it was georgia by the personality!
I stayed in savannah with my cousins and my uncle taught at scad! love this picture
Love this the dress is to cute, am going to SCAD in fall this year for college!
