iT LOOKS LIKE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A LEG!

BY THE WAY HER LOOK IS GORGEOUS..SO WYNONA RYDER/BETTLEJUICE!

Anonymous The Neo-Traditionalist said ... (10:17 AM) :

Love her wind blown locks and the serious cocktail rock on her finger. Edgy in the best of ways.

oh i am SO in love with this. is her hair up or just short? either way it's great. perfect use of the socks-with-heels trend. and the draping of that dress is just spectacular.

I love the way her hair complements her dress with a kind of raw edge to it as well. And I like the brown belt and brown sandals.

Love this look, it's edgy

Blogger Ale said ... (10:21 AM) :

Nice style!! Like it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:22 AM) :

I love the black-on-brown. The way she's standing makes her look as if she only has one leg (odd observation, I know). Does anyone else see the illusion?

Would like to take a drawing about her on http://emanuelebarison.blogspot.com

Black and brown look great together. Plus the messy hair, uneven hemline, and something about her face ... hmm, quite striking.

yay, first to comment.

first of all.. the hair is a hot mess in a fabulous way.
I want the skirt.. love the unfinished/ uneven hem.
BUT this sort of looks like she has one leg... kind of creepy.

But I'm not going to tell a woman this stylish how to dress ;-)

A cross between Helena Bonham Carter and Chanel's latest moth hole designs. I call it "Just before Halloween".

Blogger The New Black said ... (11:01 AM) :

Anonymous Maryanne said ... (11:15 AM) :

come undone in a polished way.

the hair and hem sort of mimic one another.
the colour of hair, belt & shoes are all complimentary as well.

Blogger TheChambrayCountess said ... (11:17 AM) :

I like the mix of softness and a slight edge and the below-the-knee hemline...as for the one leg thing everyone is creeped out by, she might just be a really chic pirate ;)

Stunning Photo!

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (11:28 AM) :

I have mixed feelings about the raw deconstructed edge. I wore a phillip lim above the knee dress to an event a week ago and it had raw edges along the waist line and the hem. By the end of the night, I had a multitude of strings trailing the ground. Bits of the silk strings were buched up on my boyfriend's suit pants. They were everywhere and I wondered how I still had a dress on my body . . . So its beautiful but in some ways so annoying and impractical.

Anonymous Toshi said ... (11:28 AM) :

Black is the color....
I love your photos!
Respect from Japan

Anonymous Zenobiar said ... (11:29 AM) :

Love the brown and black and the shaggy skirt. But socks and sandals here and elsewhere are just fashion victimism. Not functional (how do U keep the socks clean?) and too evocative of bad tourist looks that are rife in resort towns. I know it's style but I'm just sayin.

Classy and rock 'n' roll, from her hair down to her feet! Love it.
Wish I could get away with wearing the heel/sock combo, but alas I would look like an idiot.

Blogger Angel said ... (12:11 PM) :

She beautiful for sure, but I think she looks like Helena Bonham Carters character in Harry Potter. Its like well thought out fashion madness. Love the brown belt and shoes though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 PM) :

I love this look. Love it! Except the shoes. Those I hate.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 PM) :

Great shot, what a silhouette. Love her body figure.

The finish at the bottom of the skirt is nice combined with the pattern of the top and the haircut. The socks are worn just right, like a perfect follow up to the skirt. They in turn work nicely with the shoes, which are bold but sophisticated. All smooth transitions.

The ring, belt, nails and necklace are all good.

All that's really missing here is her name and number.

Blogger toile la la said ... (1:30 PM) :

Bravo! Untamed hair, dancer body, dancer style, dancer stance (everything is aligned - hence the leg illusion...but that's great),...not too much makeup. She's into texture. I'd like to see more of her wardrobe. Encore!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

I like her hair, her posture and her facial expression the most.

I really dislike the footwear (both sox and shoes). And her dress or skirt/top are o.k. - nothing to go crazy over.

Peace and love!

Anonymous cicidi said ... (4:24 PM) :

A great photo. The girl wears and ambiguous expression. From her clothes, it's difficult to place her in a particular time period.,,this is what I love the most!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:33 PM) :

I absolutely adore this to pieces. I would so wear this. However, I doubt it would look as gorgeous on me. As mentioned, the unfinished hemline, the shoe/sock combination, her messy bedhair, the simple jewelery - all of it fits so perfectly. I love how her outfit set the picture - it's so serene, almost. My favourite look of yours at the moment.

Anonymous Theobroma said ... (2:07 AM) :

Interesting juxtaposition of frayed and sleek ... sort of distressed, understated, elegant goth poet.

I think the key unlocks her enigma. How do you do that, Scott? Find the fascinating person at the perfect moment, seemingly every time? You've got some serious photographic zen juju going on.

Black and brown together is love.

Can't pull off the socks w/ heels combo personally, but enjoy seeing it done with such assurance and panache.

Ok, so I have this question I've been meaning to ask for a long time:
Are these women you photograph just regular ones you happen to see or look for on the streets of the cities you visit? Or are they models?

Because the clothes I've seen on some of them baffled me. I mean that in the very best of ways. I am extremely impressed if all these gorgeous women you find are simply there by accident.

Blogger MasonSharpe said ... (1:16 PM) :

Wow! I love her presence. Beautiful portrait.

Blogger Dominique said ... (2:32 PM) :

The fringe of her dress matches her hair, very clever.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:48 PM) :

Wow. Just... wow. The skirt is perfection, especially with the line created by the socks & shoes (it'd work with old-school granny boots, too). And the hair, the posture, the overall vibe... as Tatjiana Ciza says above, she looks like a punk-rock ballerina; I'd add that there are twists of goth and tribal in there too.

I see very few photos that make me think, "Damn, I wish I looked like that." This one does.
