I ride in heels all the time. It's actually easier than riding in flats. Your foot slides off the pedal in flats.

That being said, I doubt it's her bike.

I will second those who say it is in fact very possible and almost easier to ride a bike with a moderate heel.

But she doesn't look like she could stand getting a chain grease stain or a scuff on the Birkin. I mean, there is no where for her to hang the bag on the bike; no basket or panniers. Scott, come to Austin and see how us real girls do it. I ride 4 miles to campus every day with a proper leather bag clipped on the side of my bike. It's not a Birkin, but then Birkins are not meant to go on a bike!

God I missed this. Been away a couple of days without a laptop.

But now I can lavish in a heap of new shots from the Sart.

And we're off to a great start!

The bike is almost as cool as the bag, which is almost as cool as the shoes, which are almost as cool as the skirt and jacket and glasses, which are nowhere near as cool as those legs..

How come the shots which include bicycles are always so fine?

Here outfit probably cost more than most people make in a year, certainly more than my car, but she's the perfect person to be wearing it. Her legs are so gorgeous.

This photo has really taken something away from this blog for me as it is - as everyone has pointed out - fake.

We love seeing whoever you photograph whether 'famous' or random people on the street as we can appreciate you capturing their natural style and inner beauty shining through. Not so here..

I love Olivia and during Fashion Week, I never saw her looking anything but gorgeous in the flesh. That said, I can't believe this was actually her bike (she was at every show so had to have had a driver) - so a staged shot I suspect.

That said, to all the commenters who doubt the possibility of riding in heels - I will add this: I live in Cambridge and it's MUCH easier to cycle in heels than to walk in them (in fact I usually only wear heels when I can cycle to my destination). The trick is to put the balls of your feet on the pedals, rather than where your arch sits (that's just a broken heel waiting to happen).

I love your site, more than anything I love the pictures you take of people who do not go out knowing you will take their picture but dress as they do because they love to do so.

Dear skeptics:

Riding a bike in heels is not only possible, but actually not terribly difficult. I've gotten around my college campus for two years now, biking in heels, with my much-less-splendid leather bookbag on one shoulder and my smaller purse on the other. It confuses most guys, but the good ones love it.

Olivia is a trendsetter so I wish she would be the first to buck the Frankenstein Shoe trend. This is surely a fashion phase that we will have to look back and laugh at. For someone who dresses with style The bike does let it all down, so ugly! And not step-through lady style, suggesting perhaps it's not hers... Cycling in heels is easier than it looks though those pedals would ruin her shoes. Also how is the bag staying on the back, no occy strap in sight...?

She should get a bike though, a sleek step-through with a basket, then we would all believe this.

It is actually not as hard as everybody think to ride a bike on heels, I´ve done it myself ! But that bike´s seat is way to high for her, so she would have to step off the bike if she had to stop and that would definitely ruin her lovely heels, don´t see this girl doing that... Still I really love the fact that you love bikes cause I ride mine everywhere and in all weathers no matter how I´m dressed or even if it rains !!! Thumbs up for bikes !!!
