i love the cardigan! looks so comfy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:37 PM) :

This belongs on a fashion blog? Sweater too small, hat too small, "shoes" are actually sloppy slippers. Sorry, just doesn't cut it for me.

Of course, you always seem to find interesting people to photograph, but in this instance I don't find his outfit interesting or fashionable.

Blogger beths said ... (4:38 PM) :

Grandpa's never fit him so well as this does.

Nothing 'grandpa' about it. Great sweater. Great fit.

Blogger Catherine said ... (6:28 PM) :

Grandpa cardigan, made hip by his sunglasses and hat. Love this! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:32 PM) :

He sure doesn't look like a Grandpa in that! What a great cardigan!

http://red-soledfashionista.blogspot.com/

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (6:34 PM) :

He looks great in it . . . maybe because of his broad shoulders. They lift the sweater so it doesn't look so "grandpa" and frumpy.

Blogger MJCK said ... (6:35 PM) :

Very stylish but not too much, it's just relaxed and fun.:) The shoes and the hat are great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 PM) :

I dislike sycophants. It seems that every one wants to flatter Scott gushing over every posted photo, that is so unnecessary. There are plenty of great shots, and stylish people as well as different and interesting fashions. But give me a break, what is "amazing" about this man look? Small hat over a big afro and ill fitting shoes that look like sleepers? I check the blog daily and enjoy it very much but I had vent my gripe :(

Blogger Tess said ... (8:33 PM) :

I am loving the colors here. The greys and this light brown are quite striking together. And of course love the shot with the baby blue wall.

Anonymous Zenobiar said ... (12:06 AM) :

Sweater lovers. I got mine from J Crew a month ago with zippered pockets instead of patch pockets. It's longer than his, which makes it even more-ish Grandpa. As noted above, it's still around. Love the shoes and shades. How does he keep the hat on??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 AM) :

the shoes are better ;)

Blogger MitchRyan said ... (12:27 AM) :

Blogger lintmag said ... (1:18 PM) :

I have either this same cardi or one very similar - a few years old, originally Marc Jacobs but knocked off by Mossimo for Target really well. I like the grampa look on him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:43 PM) :

Another guy with a small hat perching on top of his head. I believe we saw this in another photo of yours. I love the composition as well, the thin washing sign behind on the blue wall, a study of blues.

Anonymous evalyn said ... (1:48 PM) :

Grampa slippers and hat, too. But he turns the whole thing around. My Grampa never looked like that!

I don't know what constitutes a grandpa sweater since I grew up near the equator. But my mom has a sweater like that and it reminds me of a throw blanket in my living room. I'm sure its very comfy.

Sickest picture by Sartorialist since i have started following.

Blogger Liz S said ... (12:28 AM) :

Love the whole outfit but I wish they would stop calling these grandpa cardigans--that was a long time ago they were worn in this context--we are much more eclectic and open with clothing styles in the 21st century....I hope.
Same goes for granny shoes, granny rugs etc.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 AM) :

Hat's too small. Otherwise great cardigan. The rest of the outfit could be tossed in a bottomless pit

Anonymous GG said ... (6:55 AM) :

Oooh...the cell phone coordinates with the glasses (and actually happens to be my cell phone). Does that make me a fashionista TOO, or do I need to wear red Ray Bans and a Grandpa sweater while I'm using my phone??? I do have an Everlast sweatshirt that used to belong to my grandpa, and it's grey...does that count??? Could Mpumi have worn that and ended up here?? Damn this fashionista thing is so complicated and existential. I guess some just get it without trying!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 PM) :

Ok... we all love the cardigan, but it is too short for him. That cardigan can be something more, but he devalued with all of the other hispter gear.

Sloppy house slippers = no!

Red wayfarers = hipster for sure.

What is up with that small hat that serves no purpose? I believe straw hats should be left for summer, not fall.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:43 AM) :

i believe this is from j.crew from last year (i work there) it is a great sweater and we currently have one for women right now.
