Oh Yeah !! I Love The Style !!
This sweater is incredible.
I want the cardigan for a warm winter.

What strikes me is that he not only wears the grandpa cardi but also the fitting shoes - but he balances it with the hat and red sunglasses - cool look!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE CARDIGAN.
So casual, but so stylish.
I prefer them over normal Fall coats.

I like the worn shoes comfy sweater and a pop of red with the wayfarers.

i love the cardigan! looks so comfy.
This belongs on a fashion blog? Sweater too small, hat too small, "shoes" are actually sloppy slippers. Sorry, just doesn't cut it for me.
Of course, you always seem to find interesting people to photograph, but in this instance I don't find his outfit interesting or fashionable.
Grandpa's never fit him so well as this does.
It's all about the shoes. Love the slide-on's.
not a big fan but the cardigan is tough however.

Hawt! Suave and hot. Like.
It looks like it was knitted by his grandma with love. GORGEOUS.

cool looking top.

That cardigan is perfection!

they had a twin-version of this cardigan at j.crew last year. so interesting how the same styles suit men and women so differently.
LOVING THE TEXTURE ITS CREATING

When is it going to get chilly enough here in London for me to wear my own grandpa sweater? ;-) I should really appreciate the warm weather while it lasts. I love the sweater on him.
Shoes are actually worn Campers... V.. nice and cosy look. :)
Grandpa Cadigan?...Lol
But I do love the Blend of navy blue..

If you're going to wear a grandpa sweater, play the part. Grandpa's don't text!
www.jrocomedy.blogspot.com
The slip ons are called morrocan babouches : a common shoe worn by the young and old in morrocco...but i never seen somebody rock a babouche in a hipster way....love the look!!
I prefer wearing mens sweaters...they're chunkier and cozier. I'm always on the hunt! XO Valerie
Some costume inspiration for the creative minds!

He has pulled this look together really well. Love the cardigan ang the way he is wearing his hat.
Nothing 'grandpa' about it. Great sweater. Great fit.
Grandpa cardigan, made hip by his sunglasses and hat. Love this! :)
He sure doesn't look like a Grandpa in that! What a great cardigan!
http://red-soledfashionista.blogspot.com/
He looks great in it . . . maybe because of his broad shoulders. They lift the sweater so it doesn't look so "grandpa" and frumpy.
Very stylish but not too much, it's just relaxed and fun.:) The shoes and the hat are great!
I really like his style!!
http://vannoybfashion-ronisha119.blogspot.com
His sweater fits him perfectly. Was it hand knit?
I love the fedora and the cardigan, but what's with the house slippers?
That is something I would wear. The cardigan is beautiful! I also love how casual the shades and shoes make the outfit look. He looks incredibly comfortable1

That's one of the guitarists from the Blk Jks...amazing band from South Africa...
Love the cardigan. J. Crew has a similar one on their weekend factory website.

I dislike sycophants. It seems that every one wants to flatter Scott gushing over every posted photo, that is so unnecessary. There are plenty of great shots, and stylish people as well as different and interesting fashions. But give me a break, what is "amazing" about this man look? Small hat over a big afro and ill fitting shoes that look like sleepers? I check the blog daily and enjoy it very much but I had vent my gripe :(
I am loving the colors here. The greys and this light brown are quite striking together. And of course love the shot with the baby blue wall.
Check out my post today on Spring 2011 shoes called:

Cool dude. I love how his hat is perched on his head.
Super chic in my opinion!
Love that shawl cardigan
BLAH, Hipster.
Such a simple look - shouldn't more men be able to pull this off?
Amazing...my father has an old sweater nearly just like this one (all that's old is new!). Great sweater, nice look (and obviously a lasting look).

Sweater lovers. I got mine from J Crew a month ago with zippered pockets instead of patch pockets. It's longer than his, which makes it even more-ish Grandpa. As noted above, it's still around. Love the shoes and shades. How does he keep the hat on??
the shoes are better ;)
I think that is or is very similar to the J. Crew womens cardigan from their fall collection this year.
This works!
Looks really lovely ~
so cool!!!! love it!
xo
I wear that exact same outfit everyday...pretty basic
This guy's name is Mpumi Mcata from South Africa. He plays lead guitar for the band, Blk Jks. I'm South African, so I'm proud to see this dude on this site.
The fit of the sweater is divine.
Amazing silhouette... as usually !
and also granpa shoes!
http://speetway.blogspot.com/
Wow! So refreshing to see a South African band member in here, go BLK JKS!Thanks Scott.

i see black eyed peas. just awesome!
I love only the cardigan
His name is Mpumi and he is a member of a South African Rock band called the Blk Jks. I adore him, and he always has had his own style in the band. Nice shot Scott. Such a proud moment!!!!

It is weakened enough and convenient style, it is harmonious also to me very much it is pleasant!!!)))
i get why some ppl dnt like this look, I think its great becase its so effortless. He's not tryna be fashionable- which I despise!
This is besides the fact that Dude is part of a very cool South African band.
Loving this cardi. and the writing on the background is perfect for photography
LOx
he looks like will.i.am... but funkier! hahaha :D
http://cestlamademoiselle.blogspot.com/

Mpumi is his name, from a South African band,Blk Jks. love the cardi and feeling proudly South African. Ayoba! Scott
Moroccan slippers... the guy looks into islamic cool.
beautiful cardigan with a very interesting texture and the fitting is soooo good!! maybe be a khaki would have been more adequate but it fits to this man
so incredibly sexy!!
I am so in love with men who wear sweaters like this, it's just so cool and casual. And the slippers... very cool.
Just perfect
Love this outfit! The cardigan is great with all it's different colours.
nemeerae.tumblr.com
I love the snug fit and the color palette of blues, grays, and ruddy reds.
Haha, my father has exactly the same slippers! Originally the slippers were as yellow as the edges of the slippers. If you put extra soles in them they are very comfy!
Perfect hipster outfit. I do love that sweater though.
I have either this same cardi or one very similar - a few years old, originally Marc Jacobs but knocked off by Mossimo for Target really well. I like the grampa look on him.
to anonymous 8:26 PM:
do I have the right to be amazed by my own standards or do I have to follow only YOURS????
Another guy with a small hat perching on top of his head. I believe we saw this in another photo of yours. I love the composition as well, the thin washing sign behind on the blue wall, a study of blues.
Grampa slippers and hat, too. But he turns the whole thing around. My Grampa never looked like that!
la la la! love me a grandpa cardigan.
The shoes are something special
http://fabulouslifeofdiogotorres.blogspot.com/
My kind of man.
I love it.
it's very original !!! :)
http://theupperfashion.blogspot.com
I don't know what constitutes a grandpa sweater since I grew up near the equator. But my mom has a sweater like that and it reminds me of a throw blanket in my living room. I'm sure its very comfy.
Sickest picture by Sartorialist since i have started following.
Love the whole outfit but I wish they would stop calling these grandpa cardigans--that was a long time ago they were worn in this context--we are much more eclectic and open with clothing styles in the 21st century....I hope.
Same goes for granny shoes, granny rugs etc.
Hat's too small. Otherwise great cardigan. The rest of the outfit could be tossed in a bottomless pit
Coolio!
Mpumi! Proudnessness indeed! Lovely one Scott!
Ha.
He lives in my building in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He looks even better in person.
He looks like he fronts a ska band on the weekends. Cool cats in skinny pants/suits and small hats!
the pants and the cardigan are great!shoes look very comfy but i'd loved to see him in thick leather boots...
OMG this is Mpumi Mcata from South Africa!!! He's a drummer on popular band BLK JKS!!! WOW
A great cardigan, just like this one, made out of icelandic wool is available from the label Farmers Market, www.farmersmarket.is
BLK JKS represent!
Vote for the rapper who should get a CD box set treatment: http://www.veryartistical.com/
Gentlemen wear shoes.
I want, wait, NEED that sweater!
Oh my hat & umbrella! This guy is from down here in South Africa. He's in the group Blk Jks (pronounced Black Jacks. The are a rock indie band now living in NY.
I love his look.
Tx Sir Sartorialist
Mpumi from Blk Jks representing South Africa! Beautiful style and a beautiful soul from the most beautiful country in the world. The children of Africa are spreading the word, one grandpa cardi at a time x
Gotta love a stylish man. From top to bottom, very cool and cozy look.
J. Crew Alpaca Cardigan!! Sooo nice but they only have larges online!! Definitely need to grab this sucker!
ohhhhhhhhhh loveee thee shoess comingggg frommm southhh of moroccoooooo !!!!!!loveee those detailsssss...
He looks great and I *love* BLK BJKS.
Oooh...the cell phone coordinates with the glasses (and actually happens to be my cell phone). Does that make me a fashionista TOO, or do I need to wear red Ray Bans and a Grandpa sweater while I'm using my phone??? I do have an Everlast sweatshirt that used to belong to my grandpa, and it's grey...does that count??? Could Mpumi have worn that and ended up here?? Damn this fashionista thing is so complicated and existential. I guess some just get it without trying!
Ok... we all love the cardigan, but it is too short for him. That cardigan can be something more, but he devalued with all of the other hispter gear.
Sloppy house slippers = no!
Red wayfarers = hipster for sure.
What is up with that small hat that serves no purpose? I believe straw hats should be left for summer, not fall.
i believe this is from j.crew from last year (i work there) it is a great sweater and we currently have one for women right now.
I love this! I don't think you can ever go wrong with a grandpa cardigan.
fayonthego.blogspot.com
Love the Moroccan leather slippers !!
This cardigan is definitely available at Levis. I think it might even be a girls cardigan.
The sweater is EDUN!
Available here:
http://www.edun.com/products/shawl-cardigan?color=4160&cat=58
I mean at the end of the day the cat is expressing himself through his clothes. Its his OWN experession.
What do I think? I think he looks cool, he's got that Shoreditch London type look. Ok, New yorkers I know he's yours
Rock on bro.
He's actually from Africa, Johannesburg, South Africa to be exact. And he's always on point, he's got a laid back look, with a contemporary african feel.eg. The morroccan shoes, the nappy hair, the navy and brown. Its a good look.
