Oh the glamour!
beautiful images!
oh, lovely! i dance argentine tango myself, but it's not quite the same here in norway! so i hoped you or garance would post some shots of the real thing. i like that the photos are black and white; it adds a historical quality that feels right since tango started so long ago and is danced in these wonderful old buildings. - the last shot is of historical photos from milongas in this place, i gather? hope i'll get the chance to see it all for myself someday... in the meantime, thanks for posting these!

great post! i love that tango scene!
Soooo pretty.
Dear Sartorialist:
I hope you haven't missed the opportunity of shooting pictures about former president Nestor Kirchner funeral, with the people in the streets. More than tango, that defines what we, argentinians, are.
Love these photo's! they are really beautiful.. especially the 1st one
Lovely pictures...

What's in that beautifully wrapped package in the next to last shot? Also, these are very evocative photos, a little like a film.
Oh how wonderful! I love the nostalgia in your b/w photos. An almost lost world beautifully captured! Thanks.

I love seeing my city through your eyes!
I love this place! I went there with my parents last year, and I always wonder if the guy who danced tango with me is still dancing, and if he is ok. He must be 80 years old now (I hope!), with his imaculate wig always flying with him through that amazing light...Thanks for the shot!
Amazing pictures! I love how in the first picture you captured the man's face expression while he's singing!
B.A is soo amazing! I love it here!

Buenos Aires, great place!
It's so great to have pictures of your recent trip to Buenos Aires, I hope there are more to come.. hasta siempre y esperamos tu pronto regreso a mi hermosa y querida Buenos Aires.
They're great photos as far as photos go but for someone unfamilar with what you're photographing it doesn't reveal very much. Maybe some more words would have helped? Hope to see more photos of people and fashion from your visit to Argentina soon.
What a great mood!
These beautiful pictures bring back wonderful memories - It's hard to believe but Buenos Aires really is the city where people dance the tango at street corners; and the cafés are so wonderful.
lovely photos!!!

Mr. Schuman; haven't really foud BA as an " atracting " city or not even cool. There wasn't much to "hunt". Buenos Aires loss the old authentic CHARM.
Sad :(
Absolutely beautiful photograph. SImply beautiful!
beautiful & inspiring...definately a place to visit again & again..
The photograph with the dancing couple: I seem to spy his eyes staring straight at her bustline. And his fingers had dug a bit into her back. Thank you for showing us that love and passion need not end at 80.
beautiful & inspiring... definately a place to visit again & again...
Absolutely beautiful.

The Sartorialist is one of my favorite must-see fashion blogs. But I am curious as to where the even mildly constructive and critical comments have "disappeared into". Surely there must be someone out there who has comments of this nature?
beautiful black & white pics!
Great pictures and don't forget Cafe Tortoni!! Disfruta Baires al maximo!

I'm in Buenos Aires right now - dancing Tango at La Viruta, and staying in an amazing(!) apartment in the area Palermo Soho (booked through www.oasisba.com). Love this city. It's all about joy.
Aww...mi Buenos Aires querido. I miss you.
Those black-and-white pictures are beautiful. And remind me of the dancing scene set in Argentina of the movie "Don't Cry for Me Argentina."

Genio!!! sabès captar los grandes estilos...La Ideal es un maravilloso lugar de nustra ciudad. Que grande!!! Te amamos!come back!
La Ideal! Amazing. Did you know that a few years ago, at night it became a disco. A very cool one. With bands like Gene Loves Jezabel. It was awesome to be there, in that retro environment, dancing The Cure, or perhaps The B 52´s.. Love that place. Night and day. A classic.
wow, what an amazing series (in a large collection of amazing series)
I love, love, love these pictures... thank you for sharing the beauty of Buenos Aries.
the man singing (probably tango)is perfect, sentimental, amazing.
i attended Confiteria Ideal years ago it brings back great memories - watching the tension between the couples dancing for hours and hours
thank you for posting :)
Oh! My husband and I watched that man sing many times when we were in BA for our honeymoon. My skin sizzles even now at the memory of his passion. (The singer! Not my husband! Although . . .)
So cool, I love my city!
I'm happy you liked Buenos Aires!
