Comments on "At Louis Vuitton"
incredible collection...amazing shots
I also loved the collection!
He used the same ingredients that he used for the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer collection: printed silk, seventies vibe and loooooots of Yves Saint Laurent inspiration!
Loving the final product though, it has the elegance of YSL, the sexiness of Galliano and the coolness of Marc Jacobs
The blue and purple "tiger" print is my absolute favorite. Good show.
Just wondering Scott, did you happen to get any candid shots from KL's party?
Che meraviglia!!
A slinky lurex dress is so on my wishlist!
I love the flapper dress and Far East Asian inspired pieces.
It was such a beautiful collection and the music was spot-on. Amazing presentation.

I just adored this collection. I loved the 1920's silhouettes he did. They were fabulous!
I like the flapper piece and Far East Asian inspired pieces.
The jewel tone colours are amazing!

honestly i don't like the dresses that much. to me they look too calculated and at the same time not innovative enough.
But i LOVE the outfit at the 6. foto - great. :)
I watched the show and loved the color palette. LV never disappoints. I'm sure you enjoyed the show.

The return of the geisha. The urban geisha this time.
i guess prints and bold colors are the way to go next season. great collection!
First!!
I love Marc!
faboulous.
wow. Louis Vuitton - just perfect

This whole collection is like a suite of Odalisques. Beautiful.
Stunning! He is such a genius.

I like it when models come out in groups, it leaves a very powerful impression.
LOVE these jewel tone colors

Fabulous collection. cheers to Louis Vuitton.
so fierce and powerful! and do they have to take such long leap with their loooong legs? lol. xxx

outstanding!! Absolutely beautiful!
am sure all the models have coloured contact lenses in, their eyes are all soo blue!

Impresionante Marc Jaccobs!! Por fin un desfile sorprendente. Marabilloso viaje a los años 20
Marc Jacobs, the man just walks the line between art and consumerism so well!
wow love the neon colors. amazing

I really love the colours! Prints are amazing!!! Good job Mr. Jacobs!
Absolutely amazing collection...the blue zebra dress is exquisite.
wow, stunning!
I love the photos and the color of the collection!
Beautiful colors.
I love that a folding fan.
I really believe this is the best collection of the season. I imagine any of these girls meeting up with Warhol, Bianca, and Halston for a night of champagne, gossip, dancing, parties, and of course party favors!
Amazing collection ! I love this: Dark make up and fresh dresses <3

Amazing shots. Nice to see you yesterday, even if didn't dare to say anything but "thanks for the glass of champagne".
Designed for a few hundred women on this planet....
The Asian influences are fantastic!
somebody either spent time at or researched studio 54.
late 70's early 80's with a vengence.
great collection & a visual feast for the eye.
Global Fashion!
This makes me want to hop on a plane.

I would donate a finger for that first dress. Barely exaggerating.
Can't wait 'til the shows are over and you return to a focus on real people on the street. That's what brings me to The Sartorialist - if I want "fashio" I can read a magazine.
Thanks for the beauty.

Wow, the dresses are amazing!

Marc was chewing gum on the runway!
P.s. ooooh FRINGE
perfect collection!!! love the colours!!!
LA MONA SE VISTE DE SEDA
www.lamonasevistedeseda.com
I can see the YSL influence in the colors and use of ethnic designs but the outcome seems all over the place. The Chinese-inspired outfits are, I think, particularly askew. A lot of judicious editing seems warranted.
I like the way you move betwwen the street and couture...appreciation of one doesn't mean a diss of the other.
Love your eyem as usual.
Simply amazing! I'm just speechless.
I like this. I hate it when they have their logo on everything.
has he perhaps swallowed down some old Armani gene...?, absolutely obnoxious !
OK, leaves me cold.
Beyond beautiful. Great shots. I love the pattern on the surface of the catwalk and your angle.......
The oriental dress slit-up-to-there blows my mind.
Like what does he do again?
Loved the collection, the make-up was absolutely fabulous!

I agree with last comment. I find your pictures of people on the street so much more interesting and useful than these fashion show photos.
Hideous
Ehh... definitely can do much more than THAT with the chipao motif. I'd even consider it unoriginal.
I think I am the only person in the whole world who does not like MJ body of work.
Interesting with the Chinese influence in the qipao-like dress and top. Lovely.
fridayswithcilantro.blogspot.com
I think MJ OD-ed on purple this season in his collection and LVs. Another purple jumpsuit? And what was with the embellished panda face?
...The only 2 themes I liked looking at overall were the flapper dresses and the lacy LV patterned knickers I thought that was interesting. Other than that I thought it looked like Chinoiserie gone wrong--I'm disappointed I had just started to love what he was doing after hes LV fall 2010 collection...but you gotta give him credit for such evolution every season. Just have never been a big fan.
SCRUMPTIOUS. Flowy silk pants? Check. Stretch lace skirt? Check. Yummy.
I love how color is being used sparingly but strategically.
beautiful collection (colors, shapes, details) just perfect elegance:)
rosenfeld-dwornikovski.blogspot.com
A great collection, but I miss last season's ladylike, 1950s collection. Ah well, fashion never stays in one place for long...
red-soledfashionista.blogspot.com
Love the 5th shot down. The line of the leg first caught my eye, but after a moment of observation the more interesting part of the shot is the stillness (which lead to crispness) of the orange clutch.
fine if you're spending s/s 2011 in the back line chorus of a musical...otherwise maybe not so fab.....
Costumey, and sure to be argued over. Some overdone Asian tropes. This is not China, but Chinatown...
amazing shots!love all purses of this show!

Thank you very much for publishing this photos from LV !
The blue/purple tiger prints dress && the last photo are my favorite ! :))

wow.....i love the pieces.

xoxo sugarkanke,

So...there is so much inspiration from others here and little from Marc Jacobs. Guy Bourdin comes to me mind when i see these images....fashion seems to forget very quickly that´s the reason why almost nobody noticed the lack of imagination present here.
I love how you see the light hit the leg of the girl in the purple kimonodress. Looks like she's carved out of some sort of creamcoloured stone...
Very inspirational colours.

This seems like two separate collections to me. Top few have a real 1970s Studio 54 vibe. The colors and fabrics are so beautiful. Very body conscious. The belted knit dresses and the crazy high slit on the geisha dress are so so sexy. But then we move into the balloony jumper and the tiger stripe which aren't as interesting and the relationship to the earlier pieces begins to transition until we get to the bottom black and whites which don't seem to relate to the first photos at all, though I can see how he got there. The last grouping puts me right into the Nicole Miller New York 80s. It's very Long-Island- powerwife-lunching-at -Tavern -on- the- Green. I love the hair and makeup on the models. They look like they're made out of wax. The severe-looking blonde model in front on the bottom picture looks like something out of Bladerunner. Really amazing.
I love the combination of the old-school glamour and 70s inspired pieces. Genius!
Such a gorgeous use of colours. I adore the purple and berry jumpsuit. It's so elegant.

Im glad to see skirt lengths going down. All these looks are really elegant.
i love the shoes! so minimal, it's all about the foot... so sexy, leg-lengthening, just perfect.
Lovely to see a woman who thigh is as thick as my wrist. Score another one for the fashion industry!
love the simple, strappy shoes.
I do love that your pictures are extremely well made . That want to flatter a collection that is just *passe* in itself. Even the Make Up is outdated and feels already from last season.
I was in awe when MJ started desingning from LV, his firsts collections where so chich , polishes luxury and uber classy, like the way I felt when Philo started at Celine.
Yet Jacobs for some reason has stopped that and gone for a more popular / comercial line. This collection is all over the place is not consistent as he shows a few lines in one show
1- Easters dresses that we already seen a few years a go when Moss used to wear them are not creative just lazy in my huble opinion.
2- Flapper sweet dresses that are ok but nothing to be in love about
3 - Spanish inspired lace with fans that failed to capture any magic or skill for LV. The tops used almost like Prada done before under a hot pant or a skirt using transparencies
4-PJ's / Kimonos in blocks of Fluor. Lv doesn't need to follow the trends.
I just do not like what Jacobs is doing for Vuitton , I see LV as a brand that is chic, classy exquisite and unique and this is commercial , easy , repetitive and feels cheap. Maybe he wants to work for the new * Russian Nouveau Riche's Lovers* .
Maybe next years we will see a collection of models dress from head to toe with the LV logo all over , a bit like what Chavs did to Burbberry...
simply stunning! dresses are to die for!
my firm favourite this season.
bravo!
:))
this makes my mouth water.
I can't I am 19 years and still havent been
to a fashion show as marvelous as this.
thanks for bringing it to me.
<3
Interesting :)
Color and materials are amazing. As a Chinese native I find the qipao style dresses mediocre, lack of imagination, and with bad taste.
i'm feeling this collection. the colors and shine are all fun.. and i like the fans.. so hispanic.

this is so amazing it kills me, Marc does it again and again. The colors and photos are just beautiful..

read about fashion from Stockholm
Vibrant, delicate, powerful.
I was melting over this collection. Beautiful shots.
think "Wicked Black" has it the clearest!!!, he does anything (no matter what),just pour que s'en parle..
beautiful! Marc would be perfect at YSL!...
Very Guy Bourdin indeed.
Marc going with Chinese cutural dress? Finally appreciating Chinese style or ran out of ideas? Looks good!
amazing collection it was beautiful!!!
WOW!!!! Amazing colours...
really cool and amazing collection .... LOVE IT !!!
Lovely clothes, scarey women. The first one in the last picture has a head that is almost a skull. The woman in the second to last picture has such a slender thigh it doesn't seem thigh like at all. Their eyes don't show any joy at all. That is sad.
Wow, I can't hop on board with loving this. Sorry... It's probably just a personal preference, but the women in these pictures look terrifying. It's almost like Halloween! The first one in the last photo looks like a Halloween decoration, not like a beautiful woman. I know it's just the makeup, but I'm definitely not sold. There's no warmth or beauty in any of these looks, in my humble opinion.
fierce...very striking, especially the amazing deep purples.
and i love the fans!
They look like chocolate rappers.
stunning colors, so stunning.
Nice to see Kristen McNemeny back on the runway!
love love love! the colors, the materials... you can practically see the motion of the fabrics as they come down the runway in just a still photo. amazing
these saturated colors are amazing. go lv.
Glad to see some Chinese style in fashion show
wow, simply stunning. Great to see the models and designer clothes.
Louis Vitton will always be an icon when it comes to fashion. This clothing line had brought very many designs in the fashion world.
i LOVE these dresses so much... they're kind of trippy and fantastic. thanks for posting!
