This was the show I was looking forward to the most.

And as usual Alber Elbaz was one step ahead of everybody else.

So far it has been a rather disappointing Paris Fashion Week, even Dior, Balmain and Martin Margiela didn't have original collection this time..

Looking forward to YSL.

Anonymous Sandra said ... (7:25 AM) :

i don't think a quartet of black models makes a show as groundbreaking as they think it does.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:17 AM) :

Franca SOzzani told in her blog that this show is on of the best of ever made by Elbaz for Lavin. I don't agree with her but I thin that the creativty and youngness that are into this show are amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:30 AM) :

I agree with Sandra, but we must admit they're a step ahead of the others.

Blogger d. said ... (10:42 AM) :

omg, fantastic show

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

It's nice to see four black runway models, but I am a bit troubled that they're all wearing vaguely "tribal"-inspired fabrics, while other non-black models, at least in photos I found, appear to be wearing more modern clothes.

"Exoticism" raises its ugly head again?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

Hot...hot...hot...HOT! Fabulous.

Anonymous A Girl, A Style said ... (12:50 PM) :

Oh Lanvin, you've done it again. And love this picture - they're like the finale fierce collective!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:01 PM) :

what? the quartet of back models?

meh.

give us a quartet of Indian, Hispanic, Asian, or any other women of 'color' and that you can call fantastic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 PM) :

Alber Elbaz is like this generation's Yves Saint Laurent to me. He never ceases to amaze me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:49 PM) :

Anonymous The Pouf said ... (10:41 PM) :

Such a strong finish, making a big impact no doubt. Beauty has many definitions and this is one of them.

Anonymous N.C. said ... (11:09 PM) :

Alber Elbaz knows what he's doing

Blogger M said ... (1:52 AM) :

This is splendid, it is a big deal that he used this many black models specially in a Paris show, especially after seeing Anais Malik video of how the casting agents there have told her "you are black that is a problem".
But as someone mentioned start giving us other woman of color as well.
Alber can do no wrong!!!

Blogger Lemond1 said ... (7:20 AM) :

I love that he used Black models. Seriously that is always something lacking at NYFW.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 AM) :

I love these clothes, so feminine in an era of boxy and minimal.

Anonymous proletarian Great Gatsby said ... (11:40 AM) :

Black is beautiful but black with Lanvin is heavenly.

Blogger L said ... (2:13 PM) :

Love it! Now if the fashion world and runway had models that were diverse in heights, body types, and ethnicity's and features everyone could be represented.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:15 PM) :

just let me say: WOW!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:14 PM) :

Stunning, because even though this picture is static it resonates with movement. And while, yes, the clothes are beautiful, these women carry themselves with confidence and style and that makes them more so.
