I'm not even sure what to make of the looks being exchanged by this couple. Somebody did something the other didn't like...?

They are such a contrast of soft vs. hard in their appearance/style.

His shirt is too small, his pants do not fit and his hat looks ridiculous. It's not about how great the photo looks......

Anonymous marcel said ... (12:06 PM) :

Beautifull!!Yes,one can see love. This picture tells a story of love, ghostly apparitions at desert streets, zombies, grandma's nightgown wore at day light, cadaveric pale skin, concentration camp weeding, woman's toes cleaning the streets.
Love induced by Trioxin, similar to zombification proccess in the movie "returun of the living dead".
Neverthless, LOVE!

Anonymous Kar said ... (12:21 PM) :

I love how her dress flows so wonderfully but all I can think is, IS SHE REALLY THAT THIN? At first I thought it was a trick of the camera.

Anonymous nadia said ... (12:24 PM) :

incredible capture of a moment!!!

I am hoping that 2 seconds after this photo was snapped, they burst out laughing...that whatever the seriousness was in their faces was just the prelude to the climax of a big joke.

Anonymous Fashion said ... (1:47 PM) :

i like her dress

Anonymous artofstarving said ... (1:47 PM) :

I usually love the fashion and the photography. This shot is photo only, they're looking a little cultish to me. Her dress and his hat. If it was just one and not the other, it probably wouldn't have made me think he forgot his black Nikes at home.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:04 PM) :

This guy is handsome in his own way as this lady is aware that she has a certain undeniable effect on many people. These two are not a sharp contrast to each other, they complement quite nicely. His/her height is quite right!

Blogger Don said ... (2:09 PM) :

60s retro - except for his hair and hat. If he had hair he wouldn't need that hat. It looks like he is wearing the wrong size of watch cap.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:32 PM) :

Seems like a modern day Romeo and Juliet.

The photo itself is a success, but I find their style to be pretty horrendous.

Anonymous Maria D. said ... (4:23 PM) :

The contrast between them is so spot-on. The attraction of opposites is perfect!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:16 PM) :

Uhm...Scott. This might be your best pic of the month.
And I'm not talking about the kind of clothes they're wearing but this whole setup: light, motion, the moment where they're looking at each other....nice one.

Blogger Maya said ... (5:23 PM) :

hot!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:27 PM) :

That dude is creepy. I don't see young love in that look at all. She is pretty, but he is glaring at her with clenched jaw and she does not look happy.

Blogger Alisa said ... (5:40 PM) :

nice couple! they look very picturesque... a bit surreal.
quite opposite characters, the girl looks boho in her long romantic dress, long wavy hair and flat shoes; the boy on the contrary looks quite rough and street smart. but the look in girls eyes and the fact she's holding hands with him... gives her away ;)
good shot!

they play with proportions and i love the result, but i change her purse and his hat...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 PM) :

Good gracious, it's fascinating to read the myriad interpretations. I feel mildly terrified for the girl - the whole situation looks fraught. But it's a nice dress, and lovely hair - she knows her style. I hope he is nicer than he looks in that millisecond.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 PM) :

This is awesome! Gosh, definitely one of the best couple photos you've done thus far, Scott. Their style is so politely casual, and facial expressions aside, they do compliment each other quite well. Very simple, and really just... nice.

Ah, I wish I knew who this girl was! She popped up all over the place last fashion week, in a sweater with a penguin on it and an amazing coat/pants, then I saw her on E Houston a couple months ago looking incredible in a long skirt and all that hair. So glad to see her again, she's fascinating :n )

He found her asleep on his doormat one morning. Not knowing what to do with an angel on a regular Wednesday, and without much time to invite her in, he put his room mate's high-end purse in her hand to give her a more worldly appearance. On the way to the coffee shop where he worked, she kept glancing over. “Am I doing it right?”

Blogger Liz S said ... (10:48 AM) :

Gosh--this photo is amazing in so many ways. How did you capture that moment in time Sart? Their exchange of looks is so evocative.

The richness and contrast/complement of colour is also fantastic--the grey pavement--the black car, the dark teal and creme of their clothing.

The movement in the dress, her hair and eyebrows, the long puff sleeves--his cap, shaved head and shoes--oooeee.
