Scott, most photographers go far out of their way to never show the trash that is stacked up everywhere in New York. This pic is bubbling with authenticity regarding America's most populated metropolis. Thanks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 PM) :

Suits + cruisers. Always.

And Scott, I always look forward to your NYC photos. For me, Italy is the most inspiring, but NYC is the most...transferable.

The rusty bike just completes the whole ensemble. I wanna lick his shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

Sorry, MK's bags don't do it for me at all; the best I can say for them is that they are unaffected, as in "I need these bags and don't care how they look with my outfit."

Anonymous Grumpy Typewriter said ... (10:47 PM) :

Yes, I'd like to reconfirm this as an Elvis Costello v.2.0 look as noted by a previous poster (mind you I love EC and have seen him in concert half a dozen times).

Must say I'm a little over Ray Ban Wayfarers. Personally I prefer Persols for a similar look with I think, a bit more style.

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (10:58 PM) :

For a split second I thought he was Elvis Costello.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:29 PM) :

Appreciate the Vittorio De Sica reference, but this stylish prankster would definitely be out of place in that gloomy masterpiece. Dude, oil your chain - that old beauty has earned it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:09 AM) :

Mr. Schuman--
Clearly the perp can be identified from your most excellent photo. No doubt you have contacted the proper authorities.
White socks? And it's after Labor Day! A criminal offense.
Oh yeah, BTW, I wondered who stole my bike!
;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:14 AM) :

That looks like a very old suit from the seventies...when people were a tiny bit shorter than now. ;)

Anonymous Baltics said ... (5:42 AM) :

I really love your pics and blog, since I have not been in NY yet, everybody says that fashion trends from NY reach us only a year after, so this blog gives me the opportunity to verify if it's treu or not and to follow-up what's trendy in NY right now, what people are wearing at that particular day. So I feel more up-to-date now for sure, and this is amazing:)

Blogger Cindy at LottieBird said ... (5:56 AM) :

The white socks are a great addition because the rest of his look is so stylish. It wouldn't translate to the average joe.

Anonymous Felix said ... (6:03 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:31 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:11 AM) :

Is this guy setting the bike up to be taken to the trash, or is he resurrecting the bike from sure death? The white socks kill it for me...this guy could do better, but he chooses not to. Can't he find another pole to harass with his bike?

Blogger Peace in a Time of War said ... (2:11 PM) :
