Comments on "On the Street....Summer Suited, Milan"
The red socks perfect this look. Love it!
Love the pop of red from the socks! I love this outfit, every guy should wear a bow tie!

love who he looks, great summer suit and the shoes with it are looking totally cool.
Wow, the size of his feet. Very stylish & practical problem to hot summer days.
I would imagine that he has an interesting personality.
http://washingtondcfashion.blogspot.com/
I like the details: the bow-tie, the red sockettes and the gold of his notebook. They work well with the neutrality of his suit.
Love everything about this! The beard, the shorts, the shoes! Keep up the inspiring work, Scott!
Very cool! Love the tie. He has nice legs to wear shorts! Nice!
epic
aside from the beard, he looks like a little boy attending a wedding. Very sweet, aside from the dodgy sock choice.

Old school charm. Gotta love it!
Have a creative day :)
woww i love how italian guy dresses!!! beyondd

two new posts were updated today...DONT MISS xoxo
Simply perfect. True Milanese Summer style.
The heavy shoes and hint of red socks really makes the look.
ankle up, yes, beautifully suited. love the stripe of his suit and bow tie but i feel this man needs less serious shoes and better socks to match his playful attire.
Excellent, it's the red socks tat completes it for me.
Wow. That takes some self confidence. It's like a little boy in his sunday clothes. With a beard.

My heart melted a little when I scrolled down to see he was wearing shorts- with red socks and the shiny shoes. This man is going places.
wow:) nice suite !
http://www.garbagelapsap.com
WoW! What a cool looking dude...the red socks are IT for me!!!
ahah sooo cute :) love the red socks!! and the golden book!
beard is awesome too
great photo!

i love the red socks! it's all about the small details :)

So unique! Love that he paired it with red socks.

Nice legs. I'll leave it at that.
The only thing wrong with this look is that he's holding an iphone.
http://the-d-planet.blogspot.com
I like the whole shorts/suit thing!
I have always wondered why there are no short-sleeved jackets for this look? Always looks a bit top-heavy. Otherwise, likes.
Gusto
Wow, this is a different look. A suit with shorts and red socks with patent brogues. He works it though! Let's not forget the bow tie! x
www.FashionSnag.com
Its a very interesting look. I like the socks and shoes!
I couldnt pull it off myself but he seems comfortable which is the main thing.
Dr Tom Walker

what a fabulous sense of humor (and style) this guy has. I would walk up and shake his hand.
"Thanks for the smile"...
Unusual. I like the mix of the red sock, the glasses and the beard, fun ! :)
Love,

What a stylish man.
It's so elegant, but the short pants make it look more relaxed.
I don't like the beard, but the rest of him is really good-looking ;)
Bold! I do love the bow-tie. Not a fan of how short the shorts are. I love seer sucker suits...But something about this look screams Postal Man to me.
This photo is perfect. His outfit makes me feel like he owns some magical ice-cream store or that he'll burst out into a broadway song or begin reciting poetry from his book. Classic - loving his red socks bowtie and beard combination especially :)
What I particularly love about this outfit is the high shine of the shoes (I'm assuming they're patent, but he could be so good as to be able to give them a spit shine himself).
Being able to polish your shoes is a terribly underrated talent.
www.propertension.blogspot.com
Love the pop of red!
I love the cloth of the suit remind me something pretty 50's/60's!
Don't get the poppers ( as buttons!) an the little socks(???)
Such a great pic ,as always.Really fantastic.I absolutely adore the way the shorts ads that touch of freshness for the summer and at same time they are a declaration of his irreverence towards the vigent men's fashion establishment.
He nearly blends himself with the surrounding colours, in an almost chamaleonic way to go without being noticed but at same time the sauciness of the socks, the lenght of his pants and the glossy shoes turn him in a statement of elegance, which can not go ignored.
Amazing shoes!!!
Alden???
Nice to see a return to cleanliness. Very nice shoes, but the schoolboy shorts and jacket - while nice on their own - do not combine to make a good look. I would like pair of full length pants and jacket in the same color and fabric (seersucker?), but no bow tie. That said, the gentleman still looks like a gentleman and ceryaoinly exudes friendliness, polite manners and approachability.
Love the shoes!!!! However, I am not a fan of men in a suit with SHORTS after the age of 6!
I love the golden notebook near the iPhone and that little socks!
www.mesvoyagesaparis.blogspot.com
The red socks makeee the outfit!!
http://mroseleine.blogspot.com
That's a damn good look - especially the shoes and the bow tie
I would've much preferred to see flip-flops on him than those big clunkers.
great shoes. beyond that, oy vey.
oh i just love everything about this.
Not conventional but looks great on him. Nice execution but should lose the red socks!
haha nice!
xx http://jnsoo.blogspot.com/
very fun! love the shoes. they give it more roughness
-Jo
nice colour coordination, but he looks half naked! ; )
she looks amazing
Even with the red socks, gold notebook, bow tie, and seersucker shorts my eyes went directly to his beard! I'm intrigued by how he looks so unassuming even while dressed so boldly.
I see Viktor and Rolf and Thom Browne have melted together in the heat of summer...
super cute
Thank you! It is so delightful whenever I see someone wearing a Bermuda Suit. I'm not sure how I feel about the low socks. They are getting pretty boring at this point. But the Bermuda Suit is indeed a look that should be brought back!
Interesting. Not sure if I like the shoes with this schoolboy ensemble. Maybe some white bucks instead? Looks a bit costumey rather than naturally stylish.
Amazing look.
Love it!
Lovely!
i think thatd be an awesome suit with full length pants... not sure how i feel about showing a little thigh and some red socks with shiny shoes...god bless for being courageous though i guess.
he epitomizes insolentness in an (almost) classical attire...
chapeau!!
he is a great ... has a lot of style
I also photographed me at fashion week
That looks great-
but this guy always looks amazing-
he is adorable!
I want this outfit!!! I would change the shoes... But Its OK!
Recicled pants had a big role this season.
www.miposteo.blogspot.com
It will be strange to see a man with this look in Paris but in New York, everything is possible.
I like the shoes and red socks. It's elegant but cool. Accessories is always powerful.
Simply casual minimalism.
This preppy hipster surely has an 'ode to red socks' written in his little golden journal.
Now there's a man who knows how to step it up a notch or two...

he looks really cool and intelectual! Love the summer suit ahah!

I fortunatly live in rome...
FANTASTIC, HE HAS A GOOD INDIVIDUALITY. BRAVO!!
Hispter alert! I love red socks with a suit but I think the shoes are way too clunky. Looks like this guy is trying way too hard. Ouch.
LOVE his zappatos!
xx

http://belledecouture.blogspot.com
love the way you take the photo
& someday I should try that look!
The shorts make this outfit in my opinion. A casual detail in an otherwise formal outfit... He pulls it off so well. Love the red socks!
http://foxinthewood.tumblr.com/
It seems that the jacket+short trousers look was very in this summer in Milan! Saw some guys in similar outfits in mid June in Milan. Very nice!
--Nolita Vintage--
I actually love this look. The red socks add a little sass to it!
This man looks like he could be a professor, or a scientist with a knack for fashion. I'm not so sure the red socks are working, but it definitely makes for an interesting look. I do, however love the bow tie, and it's not every day you see a man in a shorts suit, so he gets at least ten points for originality.
how i wish i could grow a beard.
This guy must have great humour, and his suit has a wonderful cut.
Amazing look!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://audreyismyfavourite.blogspot.com
someone should get him a coffin to salute
oh, wow! this is such an amazing outfit! it's so perfect! <3
love the shoes, hate the socks
How charming - and practical.
I have been wearing this look for about 5 years now - I buy summer weight ( seersucker, etc) suits at thrift stores and then simply cut off the pant legs, and then accessories as appropriate for whatever occasion I am dressing for.
I call them my 'mini suits'
LOVE IT <3
http://fashioneverything1.blogspot.com/
these red socks are great! :] Cool outfit! I love Milan :]

Live.Laugh.Love.
He is still looking for a stylish red nose.
Awesome glasses!
http://www.redhotsunglasses.com/
I love this! I'm usually not a fan of guys wearing shorter shorts but this man wears them perfectly. He looks incredibly animated and I love his bow-tie and glasses. The pop of red and shiny black shoes look great.

His look is so funny! Love his jacket, would want it myself actually!
xoxo Sootjeelina
This is unbelievable outfit. I love it! It's crazy, it's very specific & stylish in some way:)
cool suuuupaaaarrr
http://xdecax.blogspot.com/
Mr Angelo Flaccavento! He's so talended, beside being that stylish!
So in tune with this whole prep thing happening. I even did a post on the trend today...your photo would fit in perfectly!
Bellissimo! XOXO Valerie

He looks great! Recently become a friend of red socks...

i completely respect that man for rocking the suit with shorts.. i wonder if he cut those himself or bought it as such? very cool

coolness... and a gold planner in hand ..perfect... loving the whole look

Great Suit. Great Socks
He's rather fantastic!
He looks like Pee Wee Herman... except this guy's serious about his look. I'm not feeling the shorts, but with long pants, he would look amazing. The beard and glasses are terrific and the shoes are great as well. I just think the look is forced—just to enough to seem costumey.
Pinstriped, pastel shorts suit... Bowtie... glasses... Brogues and birght red ankle socks...? I am in love with this Milanese maestro. It takes someone with serious style to go for a look this 'out there' and pull it off without looking ridiculous, self-conscious or just plain stupid. This guy doesn't give a damn about trends, season, weather or what anyone else thinks. He is an inspiration to us all. X
ella-lapetiteanglaise.blogspot.com
It all comes down to the red socks!
haha, he looks like my dad when he was 8-years old, I always knew he had good taste!
By the way
Now go and stare...at yourself
Because I'm an old fuddy duddy, I have to ask how many women would let their men leave the house looking like this. The beard is not attractive.
i love everything about this, amazing.
http://hellmrvideo.blogspot.com
way too much.
ok, this guy is rocking.
TheDeckmiami.blogspot.com
The shoes are hilarious - I am trying to imagine what he would look like walking in them - they are so clunky.
this guy is ROCKING.
TheDeckmiami.blogspot.com
The fit of the suit bothers me. The jacket is short and the shorts look like they sit too far up on the waist.
Great colours though.
For those about to rock, we SALUTE you.
The hem on the shorts could have been finished better. It seems to me he cut his long pants down.
The suit/short combo highlights how difficult it is to match with the right proportion of sock and shoe. Short socks work on this guy.
love love love the red socks
xoxo,

http://lekisskiss.blogspot.com <-- Texas gal bloggin fashion from NYC!
A childish look on an adult--man or woman--gives me an uneasy feeling.
He might be a nice person, but sorry. Noop. Not my idea of fashion
Nice legs, but the suit is too matchy, matchy. And for such a youthful outfit, he'd have to lose the beard
I'm speechless. This is one of most amazing things I've seen. Ever.
The red socks at the perfect pop of color!
http://rawbeautyrawsoul.blogspot.com/
Looks like a schoolboy.
Totally cute and so is the outfit.
ARE YOU ALL SERIOUS!
do none of you have your own options?
i loved this shot at first, and still do, for the shear fact that it is a great photo. Now the fashion on the other hand is slightly laughable... a different choice of shoes would do this poor fellow a world of good! Dorky isn't always great fashion...
Made me smile.
a shot of red down below. good job here!
http://nouveauskin.blogspot.com
Oh my!!! Her looks absolutely fantastic! Fun, fancy and functional...oh gee, if only more were this bold and took their institutionalised looks just a little left of centre.
...now for the safari suit to be resurrected into something slightly hotter than they were in the 70s.
Like the look, but white patent leather shoes would look so much better than these cordovan oxfords. And wouldn't the red socks pop then? Yes, they would
Like the look but think white patent leather shoes would look better than the glossy cordovan. The red socks would really pop! then.
stunning! great pic! <3
www.abitoffashion.com
The socks and the suit...only one word: magic!!!!!
http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/
Great and interesting pic! But .... May be if you change him from knees to the floor .... Those shoes are grate but not with this outfit. The shoes and red socks make him look like a clown. If you change the shoes for a nice pair of loafers would make a great diference! Socks with short pants? Never, please!
great style.
the shoes are beautiful.
ciao

AS ONE COMMENT SAID "HOW MANY WOMEN WOULD LET THEIR MEN LEAVE HOME LIKE THIS" WELL, PERHAPS HE DOES NOT HAVE A WOMEN OR EVEN LIKE WOMEN, SO HE GET'S TO TRY OUT DIFFERENT LOOKS...
IT TAKES A LOT OF COURAGE TO DRESS LIKE THIS!!!!!
I WOULD HAVE WENT FOR A LIGHTER SHOE...
XXXOO
MELISSA
Very interesting look, I think it takes a certain personality to pull off shoes and shorts!
An improvement on boring cream linen suits
The outfit is cute... but lets be serious.. he may be able to pull the shorts off in Milan... but in Spain it would be a definate " What is he doing?¿?¿" ... errrr NO!!
I´m sorry I just don´t like men in suit shorts!!
Love your photos though... fantastic!!...
Angelo has a great look...I also take him a picture at Pitti Uomo last june! He wears the same papillon...love it!
http://fashion-is-a-way-of-life.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-papillon.html
I love the blazer, he is so well put together.
www.theafeminada.blogspot.com
The button exists on a shirt collar band for a purpose; it was meant to be buttoned ("Never a button without a buttonhole," Coco Chanel). A buttoned collar, however, requires impeccable fit. When a bespoke shirt is buttoned there is nothing more chic.
Just discovered your blog! WOW I'm in love!! spent 3 hours last night going through old posts! Absolutely stunning!
This is gorgeous! He's a combination of a schoolboy and an office worker. Stylish and sharp. Love the gold book - could it be a moleskine? The red marker off his hand luggage matches his socks, smart thinking.
Ma, per favore...
love it! gorgeous man. you get a lot of comments and links but if you get a chance i'd love your opinion on my new baby: http://adorablydeliciouslp.blogspot.com/
thanks!
His look definitely makes for an interesting photo but overall I find his look a tad on the absurd side. I'd have to file this under 'trying too hard'.
I love the shot though!
As the Doctor says, "Bow ties are cool!"
Extraordinarilly well done in seersucker
That's Kewl...
Fashion Panache
Angelo Flaccavento you are always number 1
S.
What a fantastic look. Those glasses - I have literally never seen them before. Same applies for the color contrast socks, the schoolboy suit, the bowtie and the truly original fetish hair plus beard combination.
His beard is divine and the perfect accessory for his outfit.
The shoes&shorts combo just won't work for me x) I think it cuts off some of the elegance, yet the patern of the outfit and his face are absolutely worthy of applause.
Ha! I love it how you scroll down and the shorts come as a surprise - I didn't expect it seeing his super polished and put together look at the top!
Really do not like this at all. I respect him for trying something new but I just don't think it works.
he. is. fantastic.
love it !!!
xxxx
http://anexceptiontomyrule.blogspot.com/
LOVE HIM!
http://koo-toor.blogspot.com/
I appreciate this look, though I don't like it personally, if that makes any sense. Something about the bare legs looks incongruous with the rest of the outfit. The fit of the jacket is perfect. Love the bowtie. And the red shoes!!!
Wow! First time I saw this one.
One of the best looks I have seen on here for a long time! Nice to break with convention. shows creativity and imagination. Nice to see he can put an idea together himself - and show a bit of his character!
I love the raf simons shoes... and the suit is perfect, this is an example when the creativity meets the style: gorgeus!!!
p.s.: I'm sorry for my english but I don't know it very well...

I'm obsessed with this guy. Look how cute he is!

Very unique! I'm not sure what else I can say!

I like the golden notebook!
This guy is making the rounds! Here he is in yet another wonderful bow tie on Style Clicker:
http://www.styleclicker.net/2010/03/11/bow-tie-love-paris-rue-st-honore/
I remember Yohji Yamamoto and Matsuda doing these shorts suits in the late 80s. (One of them even had a short sleeved jacket!) I thought it looked pretty awkward then, and I'm still not convinced now. To me it's counter-intuitive. I'd probably be more inclined to remove my jacket and roll up the sleeves on a hot day than to mix shorts and a jacket. But I guess it almost works on this dude because of the beard...
One has to have reasonable legs to pull this off! The dude in the picture has that.
The only thing this tike is missing is a propeller cap.
red socks with elegant, classic, black shoes is a perfect combination!
and this small, gold notebook is simple beautiful and period!
viva La Boheme! ;)
Preppy =D
i just love the style
Every man should wear a bow tie!
www.styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com
Ah, Angelo Flaccavento, the most stylish man on the planet. That said, he IS a fashion journalist (and an Italian one at that) so perhaps he should be. The thing that strikes in photos of him is that he's always alone. Which seems so sad. I'll be your bff Angelo!
WOW...a perfect combination... great!
Perfect
Italians always know how to be one step ahead! Nice outfit!
Check out this new ad campaign, pretty cool too! Whats the company?
http://www.exceptions.me
Angelo Flaccavento, of course.
-Bow ties are super elegant and effortless.
www.dapperlou.com
Beautiful photo, as always, but mon dieu! Talk about self-emasculating! Those shorts were hemmed much too short. The shoes are lovely...just not with this suit.
Not a fan, I think he looks like he's 8 years old- a grown man in little boys clothes. I don't find it appealing.
I think he might be hitting way too many style trends to actually be pulling this off:
- the short socks with big shoes
- the shorts as part of a suit
- seersucker
- the beard
- the red string bracelet
- the moleskin notebook
it seems to me to create the net effect of trying too hard and he looks like he might even be a little uncomfortable.
I´m sorry. He looks sily
Reminds me too much of the Martin Short movie, Clifford.
www.jrocomedy.blogspot.com
I kept scrolling through the comments looking for the name "Thom Browne," but I didn't see it. With all due respect to this very probably lovely man, what about his outfit, other than perhaps the gold notebook, is not straight out of Thom Browne? Honestly, I see absolutely no sense of PERSONAL style, just plenty of THOM BROWNE style.
Oh, an italian Angus Young. I like the suit, bow tie and red socks, but the shoes look two sizes too big on him and the shorts look - well, silly. A few commentors note that he is rocking a school/sunday school vibe. Its' cute on little boys, but otherwise unmanly even with the beard. It's fashion-forward and fun to see, but for me, it also a miss.
He has The I Am A Total Tit look.
great looking man...but too much going on at once
the shoes are amazing...whould anyone know exactly what they are? alden?
best thing about the whole thing is the tanned legs:)
i like the shoes a lot
what brand are they?
I like Angelo's style!
