I think that is some bold look. Really nice match with the socks and those wingtips.

I like it. Bold and bright.

PS. The background really brings out the colour contrast.

Thanks for sharing.

He seems very detached and in harmony with everything around him

i don't have long nice legs, but i try it anyway.

hope i can creat my style.

Blogger Elena Vasilieva said ... (7:58 AM) :

fantastic picture, great colours

Anonymous El Wonger said ... (8:01 AM) :

Sweet Levis look . It appears to be an old Levis shirt with the new 201 buckle-back 201 re-issues (?). Plus, the socks, hat and wing-tips are the icing on the cake.

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (8:08 AM) :

I like this! I like how everything is rather conventional except for the socks, but even those really go with the rest of the outfit. The blue background brings it all together. I have to use my Church's in more exciting ways, like this one. Jorge from WPB

Blogger Malachy said ... (8:10 AM) :

Blogger KC said ... (8:55 AM) :

the socks add so much fun into the look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:58 AM) :

Nice socks. But still what is the deal with rolling up the trousers? Some time ago it was allowed only for absentminded nuclear physics professors. I can't convince my husband to do it in case trousers are too long.

Blogger A Lot Like Fashion said ... (9:01 AM) :

Very trendy. The socks go very well with the hair and the hat.

Blogger Blithe said ... (9:04 AM) :

cuffed corduroy, leather shoes and brilliantly striped socks - AMAZING!

Blogger bubbs... said ... (9:04 AM) :

Those oxfords and socks are fabulous! What a great pop of colour to a very neutral outfit.

Anonymous Rachel said ... (9:06 AM) :

I want be his friend!

Anonymous Laurent said ... (9:06 AM) :

Beautiful shoes. I think the rolled cuffs to shoe off the socks- which could have been a subtle eccentricity-is childish, and a bit clownish. Combined with the funky hat and hair, it appears costume-like and contrived. However, he looks comfortable, neat, clean and should be praised for his shined-up brogans!

Blogger Helena from BrooklynBlonde said ... (9:08 AM) :

Love this photo!!! He looks like he should also be holding a joint cuz he's so chill! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:09 AM) :

Man, this guy is fly! Digging the quirky socks, uneven pant roll, Allen Edmonds on the feet. I'll have to keep an eye out for a Levi shirt before it gets much cooler here in Boston.

Blogger Couture said ... (9:09 AM) :

LOVE the whole look from the tips of his polished shoes to the bag he's carrying. Colours are great. I have a thing about blue shirts and tan trousers on men :)

Anonymous Ijeoma said ... (9:18 AM) :

Really cute picture :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

I love his look...and him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 AM) :

such balance all around. and it feels like upper and lower portions of the body both telling a story.. and cozy for the cool breeze today and tonight ; )

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 AM) :

the hat and socks make the outfit so unique....who can pull those off and still look so cool? seriously, who does that? I would like to play with his hair too.
great pic

Blogger Sara said ... (9:31 AM) :

Anonymous proletarian Great Gatsby said ... (10:34 AM) :

The contrast shoe/socks combination gives him a special touch:not too classical and not just Jamaica and Bob Marley. It's a caribean dandy of our days!

Blogger lintmag said ... (10:42 AM) :

As I always say, the accessories make the outfit - a basic denim shirt and brown pants are nice enough, but with those great socks, wingtips, hat and bag, it elevates the look to something superb.

Anonymous Dana said ... (10:45 AM) :

Great mix of colour and texture on this dude. The sock look like a German flag...Is that a floral hat? If so this guy is awesome.

Blogger Prêt à Porter P said ... (10:51 AM) :

Excellent and individual!

Anonymous Gary said ... (10:53 AM) :

I totaly agree with what you said about the difference between fashion and style. These last pics are very representative if that.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

He is so beautiful! I love the way he exudes Caribbeanness !

Blogger Nemee said ... (11:06 AM) :

I love the colour of his satchel, it's a gorgeous blue. The socks aren't my favourite, to be honest, but I love all the different pastel colours in his hat.

Blogger Ado said ... (11:11 AM) :

First thing I notice (besides his very chill demeanor) is the red tab on his shirt, Levi's is one one of my favorite brands and I've been looking for a dark denim version of his.

Blogger The (Style) Realist said ... (11:12 AM) :

OH, those socks!!

Blogger The Nyanzi Report said ... (11:14 AM) :

Now that's true personal style.

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (11:25 AM) :

Gets my vote.

Anonymous guero said ... (11:26 AM) :

Scott, your portraiture is simply amazing. Every morning as I sip my tea I gaze at these characters and slip away to a cool place, outside of my dreary cubicle, for at least a short few moments. Thanks for your blog!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 AM) :

See? Now this fellow has real style. It doesn't look as studied as the woman below. (Her heavy woolen hat seems too early in the season.) There is nothing contrived about his look, it all is very natural and that's why it works for him and probably not as well on anyone else.

Beautifully composed photo, Sart!

Anonymous jimjims said ... (11:32 AM) :

rasta city garb. awesome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

lOve the cordury pants and the canvas navy bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:01 PM) :

Teddy! Always looking sharp man.

Blogger tivash said ... (12:02 PM) :

Anonymous Read said ... (12:08 PM) :

Awesome shirt, but I think this photo is more about the brown on blue contrast. The different shades of each create a super-cool aesthetic.

Blogger David said ... (12:36 PM) :

Old never looked so new.

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (12:52 PM) :

I am in love with those socks!

Blogger Marcushi said ... (1:08 PM) :

Wow, He is really well dress. The arm band matches also.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 PM) :

We were talking about fashion vs. style in the previous picture, and here I think is true style. I could see this time after time, and it wouldn't wear on me. He is stylish.

Anonymous xris said ... (1:22 PM) :

Dread at the controls! Nice style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:28 PM) :

Especially love the shirt and shoes.

Blogger joshylola said ... (1:29 PM) :

Blogger Gin said ... (1:45 PM) :

love the german color socks! :D

Blogger Soft Shock said ... (1:50 PM) :

perfect color combinations. gotta love those socks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

i like where he's heading with the look but not totally convinced. HOWEVER! He's wearing what appear to be Florsheim brogues - which my grandfather used to wear (but no longer does because he now prefers a softer shoe). He is my male style archetype.

So, points for the shoes and the sock combination mais c'est tout.

Blogger fairytale said ... (2:35 PM) :

wish he wore that with other socks, I really don't like the combination.

Anonymous Catese said ... (2:51 PM) :

All I have to say is those socks are AWESOME. I love that he is bold enough to show them! =)

Anonymous Web-a-porter said ... (2:52 PM) :

The socks, the socks!!!

Blogger J.Teheren said ... (2:57 PM) :

I love the denim shirt!!! The socks match well with the shoe. Awesome look!!!

Anonymous Alessandro said ... (3:21 PM) :

I like the various individual elements; especially the shoes. However, there is an off air of mistmatch. The clothes, which exude a kind of cheerful academic or philosophical (as opposed to arragonat academic) bent, and again the shoes especially, don't correspond to the dreadlocks and the expression on the gentleman's face. The hat is quite out of place with the rest.

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (3:59 PM) :

Great RASTA attitude! I like a lot how does he look

Blogger FASHION ICE said ... (4:35 PM) :

those socks make the outfit!

I was scrolling down slowly and thought, "hm, okay" and THEN I SAW THE SOCKS - what a way to complete this look. Awesome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 PM) :

Cool. The socks look like they're from the Australian Football League team the Adelaide Crows.

Anonymous said ... (2:39 AM) :

A great example on how a classy set of socks can accentuate an outfit.

Blogger Louise said ... (9:04 PM) :

So funny seeing these socks in such a different setting! I am by far much more likely to see them worn by a Waikato rugby player in New Zealand!

Blogger Raquelina said ... (12:17 AM) :

I love everything about him! The socks are fantastic!

Blogger Phil said ... (1:14 AM) :

Prepstafarian! Hah, sorry I couldn't resist that. Seriously though I love the rather bold juxtaposition of the bright striped socks and more traditional trousers/shoes.

Blogger Shaniqua said ... (1:31 PM) :

Super chic and effortless style and I'm soooo crazy about those socks, love love love!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:14 PM) :

Dig the socks...I really like the shoes though...I have a lighter pair of wingtips, not as beautiful as his. You have to be proud of such a beautiful pair of shoes...
