On the Street....Country Style, Milan
While I was working on this image Garance mentioned that it was the perfect way to end the week that started with the young Mennonite girl from last Monday's post.

This is remarkable. Special Thanks to Garance and her persuasion.
Amazing. Truly.
perfect...
Oh my God!! She is looks like a fee or an elf!!! Absolute beautiful!!!
Exactly the shoes I long for in Autumn! Love the simplicity and vintage look of this picture...
keep on the great work...
LOVE this dress!!!
I agree. Look how fresh she looks .. cool and assured and so young... and able to wear that pretty light dress with those boots !
I agree with Garance..
She is stunning, love the softness gesture on her face!

Her beauty is a pure perfection!
How absolutely fresh & gorgeous! Love the contrast of the feminine dress with those boots.
I totally agree with Garance!

Wow, she is gorgeous! i love how everything just ties together so well and she has such class to her. beautiful
So true!!
Beautiful!!!!!
wow, really mesmerizing photo. i love the mix of her soft delicate dress and the worker boots plus bag that looks very lady-like. gorgeous. xx
Love the soft summer dressing in combination with the heavier accessories. Great dress lenght if you are tall...she looks a million miles long. If I wore this lenght I would look 3 ft tall.
refreshing simple and beautiful. adorable.
Vintage dress? Beautiful fabric. Feminine, soft, sexy that was ubiquitous throughout Europe. The boots complete this country/vintage theme from Monday and this photo could be young woman pre-war/40s Europe.Porcelain skin that should never see the sun and a face that belongs in a rennaisance portrait.
I just love this dress!
Wow, she is stunning! That dress is just plain beautiful!
amazing work!
i absolutely love that dress!
absolutely love this country style
Absolutely stunning.
a lovely outfit.
me,
What a stellar shot. Good thinking on Garance's part.

Aw, she looks like a doll. I really like boots of that style.
simply beautiful
uuuuuuudorable. so 90's it hurts ...but in a good way.
I dont know why.. but looking this beautiful girl I imagine that look like a postwar garment... the boots perhaps?... beautiful dress.

So beautiful.
I love that she looks so fresh. She proves that you don't need a ton of makeup to look beautiful, which is a really important statement. I adore it!

The delicate-dress-with-heavy-shoes has become a cliche, over the past 10 years, so no kudos for creativity--just for beauty the cliche has taught us to see.
Wow!...pure natural beauty...great photo....thanks....L
So pretty. I want shoes like that for autumn!
love the bag
shes absolutely stunning! original look. look in her eyes, amazing...
She's divine.
I would gladly polish her boots
on a daily basis without
recompense.
I'm swooning over her boots!

this has been an amazing week at the sartorialist! so many inspiring pictures.. i love the tough boots with the delicate dress. Is it just me or does this girl's face look somewhat like miranda kerr? maybe it's just me! anyway, beautiful picture!
So beautiful! Simple yet stunning :)

I love this girl! Great shot and her dress is summer perfection. x

Aw...so pretty and feminine.
http://shoejunkieblog.com/
Simply. Stunning!
The colors are exquisite and softly announce autumn. The look is very tender and sweet, but stops short of being precious due to the no-nonsense styling of that 'darling dress': the sturdy flat shoe, the large leather bag, the absence of jewelry. Perfectly done. She looks a bit like Miranda Kerr.
oh la la amazing!
this is gorgeous.

Yeah, it really came full circle- it's like a mini origin of fashion lecture. Origin being the Mennonite girl and the end result being this beautiful young woman- same aesthetic, different world.
Gosh.
How did you get her to land?
I love the boots, but the dress? I'm not so sure, the colour is pretty, and the fabric, but the hemline is all over the place.
She is so beautiful... and that dress! Perfection
xo www.fashion-feline.blogspot.com
I agree with Garance. She is so beautiful, like a mennonite growing up into a city girl but in Milan!
Great shoes!
love the shoes!

This picture ties to the picture of the Mennonite girl you took. Both girls are stunning.
her bag, her shoes, her dress, her stance and expression. everything works. i cannot tell you how much this makes me want to go to Milan.
garance is so. right. love how the look crosses cultures and continents. we're all more alike than we are different. no?
It's all about the way she looks at the camera-- like she's challenging you to comment.
Beautiful, feminine, and delicate, this is such a great look.

The circle of fashion. Perfect illustration. I learned something. Thank you.
I just love this photograph. Yes, its the perfect ending to a perfect week, photography wise! I love the pink dress, and the elegance of the young woman. Her purse and old fashioned type lace-up boots are the perfect complement for the Vintage dress. She belongs in a painting.
I am shamelessly in love with this feminine, vintage-inspired look ... delicate, whimsical dresses are best paired with a bit of leather and she does it to perfection. When pretty much this exact outfit is reproduced to death by every high street store it does make it slightly less exciting, but here she just looks totally unique and jealous-makingly stunning. X

gorgeous.
love the boots and the bag.

Beautiful Composition! The gate, the trees, the girl--perfection.
She's darling. I love her style.

Her face is like a painting of botticceli, beautiful !!
Love the picture!! And that dress is amazing!
Oh she has grace and freshness, that makes her look so adorable. I love these trends to an oldfashioned, vintage look.<3<3<3<3<3 Love it.
she looks beautiful and could belong to any area!!!
love this picture!
WOW. This is by far the most lovely woman and photo I have seen on your blog to date. That face, the body language, those boots. Unbelievable.
Oppositions in STYLE is what denotes an intriguing look . Well, allow me to reiterate -it has the potential to denote one. Within the realm of oppositions - masculinity VS femininity is the most fascinating to me and this ensemble is a great example of that. She nailed it with the bag as it speaks the same DIALECT as the shoes.

Garance was totally right.
love this photo! love the dress and love love love her boots!
lovely! <3
im a really big fan of your blog BTW, you always have great photos!

What I like is the fence.
I'm a girl and I'm straight.
But yes: I have to say I'm in love with this beautiful creature. *_*
So beautiful !

This is a great look :0 Especially the boots!
she looks lovely. love the stern expression on her face that goes in contrast with her soft features. like how her boots contrast with her dress.
http://nouveauskin.blogspot.com
Lovely!
It reminds me of Jane Austen's books.
Perhaps Elizabeth Bennet would dress exactly like this nowadays...
Pretty dress and boots combo give for a great old school look! luv it.
I like this yeah!
http://blog.powersellerunion.com/
Definitely came full circle...she's breathtaking.
Obviously, it's all of US she's holding so lightly in the palm of her hand . . .
she wears her dress so well - allowing it to just be a dress with a great punch from the boots. it shows great taste to show such restraint and choice!
like everyone else....I love her dress!
She literally looks like an angel
i remembered her from the June16th post! she's a model i presume? the outfit is simple & sweet
absolutely beautiful picture.
and i love the boots! been looking for a pair for a year and have no luck.
It's official... I'm becoming nostalgic for the early '90s.
I particularly like the hemline of the dress--the "imperfection" adds flow and depth and keeps the look grounded.
Beautiful dress and great combination with shoes and bag. Love it
Feminine, soft, sexy. That face, the body language, those boots. Unbelievable.

Beautiful picture ! :D
she looks so gorgeous! :]
love the outfit. also second caspers comment with the fence haha.
ohhh..... this is beautiful.
That dusty pastel dress with allover tiny grey flowers, the lace up boots, that rich leather bag, her arms, her stance, her leanness, her look.....
....the fence echoing the prettiness and the vintage feel, and the sharp green contrasting backdrop--it is just.... so perfect.
The innocent waif look belies a sophisticated, beautiful woman whose loveliness is enhanced rather than subdued by the so-called "country" style. Once again, The Sartorialist has delivered a masterful photograph to the viewer.
Fab styling. The kind of dress regarding subtle allover print, chiffon and the length of the dress do fit great to her type. The accessories hit the look and the color concept.
What a contrast, with last monday's.. :-)
Beautiful picture! Like your blog! Hope you will become a follower of my blog too.

What kind of heels do the shoes have?
Unbelievably delicate, graceful and beautiful. Wonderful image.

This outfit looks a lot like the young Pennsylvania girls' dresses you shot! The same patterned dress! All she needs is braids!
Love it. 1990 all over again. Very cute on someone her age.
I'm dying over this girl. Perfection.

So beautiful. A Boticelli angel. Love the prairie dress/boots look. Amazing.
She should ditch the bag. It's too heavy for the delicate, summer look.
Really best choice to end a week started that (lovely) way...

You look SO TALL! I LOVE IT!
Beautiful picture. Indeed a perfect way to close the week! It's almost as if the Mennonite girl grew up and moved to the big city, however remained really down to earth. You can take the person out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the person! The same way, you can take a person out of an outfit, but you can't take the style out of a person
x Vanessa
Love Love the dress.
I was just thinking today how great this type of dress looks on women. I have a similar one in green that i adore. I also love the way she carries her purse. I was sicussing this with a woman last night who felt she needed strap bags to keep her hands free. I suggested holding the purse at the elbow. The old-fashioned elegance of a purse in the crook of the arm.
Oh, I very like this girl, she's so pretty !
LOVE those boots. she is stunning !

Wow, Im amazed of that relaxed yet sexy and crisp look. Bohemic sofistication!

What an exquisite face.
Omg! I looooooooooooove it! Want to be her. ♥
This is the prettiest girl!
I have brown/orange (auburn?) hair and I have also grown fond of the plum colour, it can be so rich. The things is not to overdo it. She never could.
garance is fab!!
your boots are awesome! Congrats on being featured in vanity fair!
This girl is adorable, I love the mixture of hard (the boots) and soft (the floral dress). I love that she hasn't overcomplicated it with accessories.
Lovely dress :)
Luv the look! Very simplistic. Less is ALWAYS more.
So, so pretty. Beautiful outfit & picture!

Thank you for your sharing.!
You can find similar boots if you look for "paddock boots" in equestrian stores / catalogs. Great look!
She looks ultra vintage with a touch of farmyard chic, que no?
I'm oddly inspired to go and grab a shovel and wear it around my neck.
Totally Fab-you-luss!

gorgeous..love her dress and boots..xx
love the boots
this is the most beautiful picture i have ever seen.
Have always loved this look. Of course, she is feminine and beautiful so it helps.
Nice little dress and that length really does suit everybody. It actually makes the legs look longer. If you're short, you've been told too many times that a mini makes you look taller, which is a cruel joke. Take a new fresh look at proportion and your ideas will change.
She is gorgeous! She looks like a nymph. And I love her posture, her essence in general. She is beautiful.
I love your Boots. I was looking out for some Casual Ankle Boots for my outfits.
I can die peacefully, for i have just fallen in love! She looks like she was summoned to earth because all the other angels were getting jealous of her. Oh my Juliet!
Loving always, Your secret Romeo.
Is this the same girl?
http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/61510Maria_1703Web.jpg
I swear she is wearing the same exact boots!
Either way, I love how she wears the boots in both photos, she has got some chic style.
absolutely love that dress.
Lovely. Notice however, the ELBOW CARRY! I have been having a difficult time since it was forbidden....
ciao mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hihihiihihihihih
I love this look!! it reminds me of me in the late 80's when I would shop at jet rag on melrose and put my vintage 40's & 50's dresses with my doc's. do you think 40 is too old to relive the look?
frockedanddelicious@blogspot.com
So innocent :-)
She looks great!
Girl who likes the old but simply wonderful
Scarlett
this dress to me! yeah! The outfit is divine.
I love the romantic, sheer girly dress with the boots. The contrast really works well, very cute!
love the soft, feminie, flowy dress and the classic matching bag and boots. her beautiful yet noncholant face with pulled back hair tops it off. gorgeous!
