First Steps Towards Fall!!

Finally, a belted cardigan that is cozy but still slim and chic.

Anonymous Dana said ... (8:16 AM) :

He looks amazing and confident. It also helps that he's in really good shape. Isn't this the fellow in the wonderful wind breaker and v-neck t-shirt?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:16 AM) :

Nice... would be interesting to know where it comes from.

Blogger Emil und die großen Schwestern said ... (8:18 AM) :

Very stylish!

Anonymous Lee Oliveira said ... (8:18 AM) :

Loving the belted cardi on him, great colour and simple and stunning pattern..
I think is Jill Sander..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:19 AM) :

Looks great on him. Being slim and handsome doesn't hurt, though. Same goes for the popped collar — I think the look would be less impressive if he wore the collar down.

Thanks for a great, insightful, entertaining blog!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:22 AM) :

Ah you missed out last year when villain did a very similar one but without the patterning.

i love this look as its one i've been rocking since, even down to the same specs!

Anonymous design traveller said ... (8:22 AM) :

Navy blue... so elegant and relaxed!

Anonymous domnideromania said ... (8:22 AM) :

The fall fighter in blue. Interesting style.

Blogger The Nooner Assistant said ... (8:26 AM) :

I never thought a belted cartigan could look so manly. Please wrap him up, I'll take him to go! Yummy!

Blogger M.B said ... (8:32 AM) :

Can't get enough of Milan V! Just love him... and this cardigan is totally something I would rock. Casual chic at its best.

Blogger Liz S said ... (8:33 AM) :

ok, so he's mmm....yes... very nice--and the cardigan looks fantastic. The thickness of the wool, the type of knitting stitch, the colour, where the main pattern lies all contribute. Also a slim fitting trouser with little bulk at the waistline help. Having said that I still do think you need to be slim, or at least proportionally slim at the waist, to look slim in these no matter what their design.
Oh, by the way-- he has beautiful hands.

Anonymous fashionsdirtylaundry said ... (8:36 AM) :

Another great shot! I love the navy on navy, and the length of the sweater is definitely slimming. I like where the print lies, as well.

Can't wait for fall!

Anonymous Annelie said ... (8:46 AM) :

That is a very good look!! Not Starsky and Hutch at all :-)

Blogger Lauren said ... (8:48 AM) :

Scott, this photograph is a true testament to that elusive yet necessary element when it comes to men's dressing: swagger. A belted cardigan, on many, would read as too "dandy," but here, he wears it as effortlessly as a blazer. Confidence is everything!

i really like that sweater.

Blogger Modern G Perspective said ... (9:06 AM) :

I love this look. A few years ago I thought of an idea of belting a cardigan but decided not to do it out of my own insecurities. I am excited that I am seeing it as a trend and looking as masculine as I knew it would look.

Blogger Goslett said ... (9:06 AM) :

Ah this is lovely! Do we have any idea who makes this cardigan?

Blogger Esther said ... (9:08 AM) :

wow! amazing fit. & that pattern leaves me quite speechless

Yes, very trim and stylish. Plus, I have a thing for pharmacies, so thank you for the green cross. Nice shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

The belt makes it look too feminine! This sweater would only look good on a pretty boy not someone who is ruggedly handsome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

The cardigan is TRUSSARDI 1911 designed by Milan Vukmirovic who is wearing it on the picture

Anonymous Best of Beehive said ... (9:42 AM) :

The pattern on the cardigan isn't my fav, but I love how slim it is and the belted look is different.

yes, yes, yes bring on autumn I say! Hot lattes and cosy knits, I can hardly wait for the days to turn cold and the leaves to fall...

As for this guy, well done! Usually the very idea this belted, patterned knit cardigan would send a shiver down my spine as cardigans on men can be SUCH a difficult look to pull off. This chap however, just does it perfectly and without looking tubby/naff/overly effeminate or try hard. Its a beautiful thing to behold. X

This man is one very cool character. Whether in Italy or NYC he is dressed warmly! He looks fabulous. The fit of his jeans, the causal t-whirt underneath, and then the belted sweater. How marvelous he looks. Love the Aviator sunglasses too. He is extremely self-confident, nearly gliding down to the street. Love it!

Blogger The Original Swedish Blonde! said ... (12:27 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:35 PM) :

Gorgeous!!!!
Love the colors, and the lifted collar.
The pattern is so interesting, and
it´s placement in the garment slims his body even more. I don´t think this effect would work with with a dark color, white is just perfect.

Love your Blog!

Yes.Yes. Perfect with the indigo wash jeans and the plain white t. The scoop collar on the t-shirt and the popped collar on the sweater accentuate his gorgeous neck. The saved head and the shades keep it edgy. I own these Raybans and they have the wonderful effect of elevating any look to another level. Love 'em.

Blogger SheanStrong said ... (4:22 PM) :

This is the exact reason why i love pre-fall, fall and post.
the ease of the clothes, and the confidence EVERYONE exudes in this seasons clothing… people always feel very fashionable in this season... look at him… simple wrap cardigan, dark straight leg jeans and a tee…. looks as if he came straight of the runway of jill sander… yet approachable enough to stop and ask if he has the time…

*Guys* take note of the clean manicured hands...

Milan V is looking more butch by the day. And the work outs are paying off!

I wish his face weren't as hard, but I can't fault that outfit and those shoulders and hips!

With me having a slight obsession with sunglasses I'd say most people can't successfully pull off a pair like that but I suppose he did. My obsession does lean towards Maui Jim and the Maui Jim Sugar Beach model may be a good substitute :)

Milan, Milan, Milan! Hotness, always, and just makes the right choices, always! I mean, who woulda thunk a belted cardigan can look masculine and trendy all at once! He's becoming my male Giovanna!

It's not the cardigan that's slim and chic! It's him - yummy!

Seeing this in august reminds me that september is right around the corner. how fast the years disappear is a reminder to take advantage of every opportunity possible. this gentlemen is doing exactly that, taking advantage.

it looks great!! i'd like to get one, too!

I like the pattern embedded on the cardigan.
It looks so intricate yet not trashy and old fashioned to look at.
The belt is another plus.
Where can I get one of these? or at least something similar?
Thanks for posting..

He looks amazing. A kind of man id like to marry ....someday. If theres any like him left for me. Hmm..Maybe Italy is not that far away from Greece.

I love the outfit on him, very stylish and masculine.. but let's face it, what really makes this outfit work is the man wearing it. anyone who thinks a belted cardigan can be pulled off by someone with "regular body" is lying to themselves.. this man has the shoulders of an olympic swimmer and the waist size of a Prada model. I would estimate his body fat percentage to be anywhere near 0.01% so yea..
