How relaxing, with his book in hand. He needs a hammock! I love how the white in his beard stands out like silver lining.

Impeccable. Effortless. This guy has it going on. Just goes to show that looking good shouldn't have to look too hard or too contrived.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:54 PM) :

This photo says "I am relaxed and cool". He is indeed cool, in more ways than one. Great image!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

shoes. great finish

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

black'n'white, always a catch!

Anonymous Rebecca said ... (6:03 PM) :

I thank about you when I was in COS shop in London, on Regent street, because I saw your book on the wall. It was amazing, and of course I bought it :)

Blogger Catherine said ... (6:05 PM) :

As a New Yorker, I know what the temperature has been like these past few weeks, and yet this gentleman looks completely cool and relaxed.

You just can beat wearing all white in the Summer . . .

Love the refreshing simplicity and unpretentiousness of this. Wonderful eyeglasses.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 PM) :

First, his shoes are so interesting. They mesh with his feet. The color is so similar to his skin-tone. They also look like they're leather, which gives them even more of a skin-effect.

His outfit over all uses blunt, clean, modern coloring that could suck the humanity from the outfit in it's over-cleanliness and modernity, but doesn't because of the WRINKLES! I think wrinkles are important. They remind you that clothes need to take on function like old men who show they've lived long lives through their wrinkles.

Beautiful. Wonderful. Summery.

Blogger SabinePsynopsis said ... (6:15 PM) :

Plain, crisp white - the only thing to wear in a heat wave. Great picture!

You must have been having a 'yellow' day. This gentleman and the gent in Andi & Jordan are carrying something yellow! What a great look, not too wrinkled, smart all white, great shoes, great hat, even a white watch band. Smooth!

Blogger Liz S said ... (6:30 PM) :

Yes. So great. Casual white on dark skin--nothing better. The neutral co-ordinated hat, shoes and glasses whether deliberate or not works so well. His expression matches the casualness of the outfit--so refreshing to wake up to.

Blogger Marissa said ... (6:31 PM) :

laid back and cool...love it! especially the hat ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 PM) :

How wonderful! So at home in his clothing - so relaxed, so dignified and defined. This man looks not only like someone who knows how to dress superbly, but also like a fascinating, kind, and wise man. I'd love to meet him! Well done sir!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:14 PM) :

I think he's perfect, tip to toes. I especially love those shoes for the way the tops blend into his skin so you only really notice the soles - like a layer of cream. Whether the shirt and shorts are linen or cotton you know they have to be a natural fiber and I bet they are as comfy as pjs. Way to go, Mister, you look great!

Blogger Bianca said ... (11:24 PM) :

LOL. I have worn this outfit. Straw fedora, white linen shirt, shorts, and lowtop sliders. Nothing like summer breezin'.

Blogger simplychic said ... (11:25 PM) :

i need to send this to my dad for inspiration.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:04 AM) :

I'll stand corrected, but this gentleman looks almost bemused as to why Scott is taking his photo. I know Scott has some fave people he shoots and posts, every now and then a random really piques my interest to see more pics of them, this fellow is definitely one of them.

Blogger Moonlight said ... (5:12 AM) :

what i love is that he's not looking like he's dressed too old or too young for his age.

Anonymous Laurent said ... (3:13 PM) :

Linen shirts, shorts, trousers like this will feel fresh all day and into the night. I wear them traveling in opressive heat and never feel like I MUST change. It BREATHES. You can find them in many colors-pastels,etc. My wife steals them for beach cover-up and sleeping! Great look, nice shoes.

Blogger Miss Hothouse Orchid said ... (3:16 PM) :

He is absolutely adorable.

Anonymous Megan said ... (3:26 PM) :

Blogger kristina - no penny for them said ... (5:40 PM) :

great, timeless style.

perfect glasses, btw.

Anonymous Jice said ... (5:44 PM) :

I love the color feeling in this shot: the crisp whites against the black-green of the trees and the way the pavement is divided into zones of lighter and darker gray. This gentleman has a poetic quality that adds to the feeling that this could be a painting.

Anonymous Eoin Grosch said ... (7:28 PM) :

Wow! Those shoes are my sister Eleanor Grosch's design when she did some work with Keds. They're the Birds of Prey series for Men. The pair he's wearing has a hawk engraving in the leather. I have a pair of those myself! They're awesome!!

Unfortunately, I don't think they're available anymore.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 PM) :

He understands dressing for hot weather.

White or light colors, light weight material, loose fitting clothing, hat, comfy shoes (look a little hot, sandals would be better) and THE BOOK. Such a "real" outfit, not just style without substance or context. Would love to talk to him.

Once again, the essence of a person, caught on film. Wonderful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:00 PM) :

wow, i thought maybe this is just some carribbean cool but then i saw teh bracelet and he is just outta this world!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 AM) :

He looks like a cool breeze. (I can imagine _The Wire_'s Lester Freamon wearing this on his days off...)

Blogger Niall James said ... (3:52 AM) :

Awesome! Contrasts and colour or lack there of!
Came across this website randomly in Australia. It's an unknown designer and I don't know much about it...seems like color is their thing though!
