I love the second photo. That is a perfect example of how gentleman should wear their trousers/pants. Just on the belly button. Also unique seeing the suspender buttons on the outside as opposed to the inside.

I love all the browns in the last photo; it's practically sepia-toned, apart from that blue and purple splash. The color scheme really echoes the vintage-ness.

Many times I was taking photos jazz musician, but I've never photograhed people dancing jazz. It's a great idea to see that jazz culture is still alive. As Louis Amostrong said:“If you have to ask what jazz is, you'll never know.”

Amazing stuff, Scott & the lawn party does it again. The guy in pic #2 is flawless, he is always interestingly dressed. He's part of The Brooklyn Circus boutique. Their blog is very inspirational, www.thebkcircus.com

The guy with the tatoos is effortless, very cool.

Anonymous Megan said ... (2:07 PM) :

I love these shots a bit more than pt 1. They are showing movement and color both which compliments the jazz look exceedingly more so than the black and white photos which appear more still.

:)

Blogger Liz S said ... (6:13 PM) :

OMG! WOW! I just don't know what to say--I am in love with these people and their looks. Your photos of them just shine. As a collector, seller and lover of vintage clothing this is total perfection of this era. Where do I start with what I love? I shall try and keep it simple...hah!
Love the first guy's hair, jacket and expression. The 2nd guy's braces are trousers are incredible--not to mention his arm and ring. The 3rd photo is just allover amazing--I want to meet this person. The moustache and tie on the last fellow is beeeutiful!

I also don't necessarily see these clothes as being unwearable for our lives now--they are stylish, chic and interesting--they flatter the person who knows how to wear them--so nostalgic while they are, they shouldn't only be.

The gentleman at the very top of this post(white long sleeve, orange bow tie, high waist chocolate trousers and awesome facial hair) is from a company called Brooklyn Circus. Great brand, the have one here in San Francisco on Fillmore St. Wee-Gee is his name, if I remember correctly. :)

Everything from the employees to the layout of the shop is very cohesive.
