Comments on "On the Street....The Hat That Makes the Suit, Paris"
The epitome of smart casual!

What a flexible and fun everyday look!

Fabulous check suit.
As we say in french, "le mieux est l'enemi du bien".

I totally agree with you, the proportions are amazing. He has a kind of refinement to his face and the way he holds himself that act as a juxtaposition to the actual outfit itself. You have such an incredible eye.

This is incredible. Slouchy sharp. He wears it well.
Completly agree, love it !

YAY YAY! *total thumbs up!*
Your blog is the awesomest on the planet! GO SARTORIALIST! :D
Love the relaxed fit of this suit. Been seeing alot of this silhouette lately for mens suits. The hat relaxes the look even more as well as complete the look. Good job brethren!!

he looks classical but a little casual. perfect!!

He looks good....

I would tuck in my shirt. But nice look anyway. Nice turnup on the pants and I dig the shiny shoes.
I agree with you.I can see it and for diferent kind of women...perhaps with a transparent blouse...
Definitely...that hat gives the whole suit a funky edge to it!
Nice look and he definitely wears it well. As a girl I would wear it too! xo
Agreed. Love menswear inspired looks on women...though it most definitely takes a certain kind women to wear it well.

I love this look!
I love the men in hats! They look classic and modern at the same time...like a picture that I have post in my blog (from Paris, of course...)

less tapered for the summer, such ease.
Great look! he looks fabulous. x

very sweet photo. you're right, the hat really completes it!

He's adorable from the waist up. The crotch of the pants is too low and there's too much fabric overall.
u have to find and shoot such a girl...would be really interesting...personaly i am not into his suit
I agree. Who makes this suit anyway?
You are so right. This is incredibly amazing looking on him- the perfect mixture of formal but casual
I'd wear this :) probably with shorts instead though haha or else i'd look like a confused boy from behind!
For me it's the glasses that really caught my eye. If I had passed him in the street without them I probably would have taken a second glance, but forgotten him.
So true, except the shoes. Maybe some b&w oxford heels.
nice! I love his subtle facial hair.
Uber Stylish :)
I want my boyfriend in that!
If this a trend it's an important direction - a return to a balanced profile - both sharp and casual - this chap has really thought this through.
The shape of the shoe balanced by a wider cut of trouser compliments the crisp shoulder and beautifully proportioned jacket - mature and considered.
The softness of the T shirt and the hat are a perfect compliment - gently witty.
Well done you for finding him, and well done him,
clever boy.
Nice picture but I'm not a fan of this look. I prefer the italian suits that make men look elegant and cool at the same time to this I-don't-even-know-how-to-describe-look. But THAT hat has saved this look from a catastrophe.

I am not in love with this look, but what I do like is that although the suit is very relaxed, it still fits him and doesn't look like he borrowed it from his dad! The addition of the hat makes me think this guy doesn't take himself too seriously.
www.styleguru.ca
that´s right!!
I love this look! How pants fit baggy and the jacket fits perfect
funny. i had the opposite reaction. i think the hat makes him look a little like a bum - it ruins the rest of the look. the suit is great, though. and thank goodness, no ankles showing. so tired of seeing pedal-pushers on men.
Scott, that's so true!
it looks so wonderful!
http://chaoticdesolation.blogspot.com
i wish i was that girl <3
Annie hall..........
I love to wear it directly like this. I prefer this silhoutte in generally and love wide leg trousers.
Gorgeous guy.
He is just so very cool.
a girl WOULD look really cool in the suit. off to the tailors!
http://watermelonfeet.blogspot.com
is this dans la marais..?
so what exactly makes "the right girl"?
Absolutely love it! Great Look! Especially with the hat and glasses
Does any one know where I can get shoes like that????
I completely agree with EVERYTHING you said. Spot on!
i love the suit but the shoes disappoint.
I really can't see how anyone could argue with this...except I might wear different shoes.
Loving his style, very relaxed. I totally agree with you. Spot on, spot on!
Excellent look all told. He seems like someone who'd be interesting to talk with and easy to be around.
love the suit
:)
Shoes spoil this look....
i guess for a girl, with heels this would look divine!

I love his outfit, and yes I would wear it. I love hats, especially Fedoras and Berets. Love the men's look, thank you Mr. Lauren! His look is a bit dark, almost like he's pre-fall but still I like it a lot. Very eclectic!
the jacket is cut a little too short. but so what -- he's extremely handsome and this is a killer look!!!
The jacket fits beautifully. I have to get used to the wide trousers. That hat is pretty slick and his eyebrows, well, full marks for that.
I would be just that girl. I love suits on girls.
I agree!I don't think it will look good on me but the suit is gorgeous.
http://tiffanyssmallworld.blogspot.com
handsome guy
nice jacket and hat, but it's as if he got the pants from a suit that's 3 sizes bigger than the jacket. are we going back to baggie pants now???
Like Felicity, I disagree with those low-crotch baggy pants. From the waist down it looks more like a pyjama than an actual suit. Too much fabric. Nice pattern, though.
I am really tempted to think that the teesh actually makes the suit! The hat is barely visible.
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
Like a lot of the comments above. I'd have to totally agree as well. This look would be fabulous of a girl, it would dead sexy.
I want that tarten suit for me. but maybe the trousers should be a little less baggy, he would look a lot better if they tappered in at the ankle..
I'm going to go against the grain - it's too baggy, too big and it's wearing him. Horrible big turn-ups and sleeves look too long. Same goes for the hat.
yes!! totally agree with the androgeny comment! so right on!
haha.. super cute. love this outfit, absolutely amazing (:
http://faialofa.blogspot.com
I really like the fabric that this suit is made of
god i love this outfit. the suit s great
http://bulbizar.blogspot.com/
Love the glasses... they look awesome.

I love that the "slouch" of this look is everywhere except his perfectly fitting shoulders. Without that, it would look like he is wearing his dad's old suit.
Such an inspiration for classic menswear!
If you guys want to see share thoughts on current fashion shows, Please check out my style blog www.styleinquisitor.blogspot.com!!!
The suits is from "John Lawrence Sullivan", which is the best tailor making collection brand in Japan as perfect as established major brands do. If you don't know the
brand, you had better check it.
This is perfect, such a statement! baggy silouhettes are really flattering when done right! Check Corneliani and Van Asche's SS11...Masters!
I love this look! I love his short jacket!
http://dressscode.blogspot.com
amazing! his whole look reminds me of the painter foujita's style in the 1920s.
The only way I see this outfit looking right on a girl would be if she didn't have many curves. This suit would provide the curve to the girl right where she needed them to be which would be amazing.
This is wonderful. The loose fit wouldn't have worked in a solid color, and the hat looks part gumshoe, part "Make 'Em Laugh." And those glasses! To me, though, what makes this so great is the expression on his face: "It's quite nice that you like my outfit, but I wouldn't mind very much if you didn't."
needs to see a tailor.
Sharp slouch, love him.
