Comments on "On the Street....Multi-functional belt, Florence"
Love folks are aren't afraid to be creative with their clothes. After all, fashion is art, right?
hahahaah I love the belt. Hope t doesn't snap
I love the touch of neon and this is such a graceful way to carry a sweater!
very interesting
very cool love lime, great shoes, too
Great idea...beats tying it around your waste & making your butt look huge, or like your trying to hide a huge butt!
For some reason I absolutely love the combination of those shoes with the neon green belt- a well balanced, kind of "old meets new" ensemble. I'm not so sure about the jacket though...
collegiatechic101.blogspot.com
smart!!
very useful purpose ;)
http://cestclassique.blogspot.com/
Love the lime green
What a great shot!! And it's fabulous that the belt is neon! XOXO, Natalya
ohh GOD!
I love this detail!
Amazing..multi-functional and neon!
http://tovogueorbust.blogspot.com/
love it . plain and simple
Hahahaha...nice start to a Thursday morning!
oohh. gotta have that belt..
i think its trend now for men..
iheartoensh.blogspot.com
thanks..
Where to begin!? Coulours so amazing esp. for this time of year. Cool trick with the jacket/belt. Loving the shoes and also kinda like the bracelet(s) on the other guy's wrist.
so smart!!
just a little problem with folds and wrinkles later on the jacket
keeping his hands free incase he needs to spontaneously play the drums?
i love everything about his style (yip, this time it's more about the style than the photo itself ;) )
the chunky chain, his shoes in combination with the shorts, the neon belt against the khaki pants and the amazing blue jacket... and of course the way he tucked it in the belt. fabulous all over!
This is how fashion has to be now! cool and smart! love it
oh huge shoes :S
but I like the yellow and the beige mix.
I just love this!
ingenious :)
love the colours too
I like the belt he's wearing but most of all I love what this men is wearing....wow!!! Shorts, nice shoes, key/wacth chain, deep blue blazer and his amazing belt....
How lovely can a men be :-)
Thx again for sharing!
The feel is what you receive when you share - Silvana Leatemia
wow, love the contrasts...
Nouvelle fonction de la ceinture découverte à l'instant. Fallait y penser !
C'est pas très esthétique, mais pratique.
Merci d'avoir immortalisé ce moment :)
Ha, pretty funny. It surprises me that he's wearing a bright yellow/green belt in combination with his classic combination with the blue and beige. But it surprises me in a good way. Yes, this guy is funny.
I love the often inventive and look-twice nuances of menswear. This is so "why didn't I think of that" and seems to have occurred so obviously to him.
The colour palette is wonderous!
http://whatinthenameoflove.blogspot.com
nice. just nice.
Great invention! And I love his shirt! And shoes!
never been a huge fan of 3/4 length shorts, and what with a chain, but this guy manages to pull it off.
http://www.idealindreamers.blogspot.com/
Man with a neon belt, this must be a dream!
Fun neon belt! I beg your pardon but..is it the angle, the shoe design, or are his feet really as long as his calf? Somethis seem off about the proportions.
very lateral thinking. stylish option as opposed to the over-done over the shoulders look
love the neon belt!
Not really a fan of this. It's an interesting idea, but the rest of the outfit makes me think it's a bit "too cool for school". Ie. I don't enjoy the chain, length of the shorts and the colour of the belt.
The colours are amazing....fuscia, red, orange, lime green, navy...love it!
haha like it
good idea! ppl follow this trend! lol
xoxo

What a great use of colour contrast, fantastic.

cool and casual style! I like to make myself believe that this guy is even handsome....
http://mannequindevitrine.blogspot.com/
neat idea - as long as the belt-helfd item isn't all crinkled when it comes out
will have to try it sometime
I heart the shoes!
he is indeed fashionista of 21c!
good one!
http://sweetandsourduck.blogspot.com/
I think that's really clever!
The jacket is awesome - it is a casual and nonchalant way of approaching your outfit. But he seems to have that approach to everything - throwing a bright green belt and a chain in with all the classic pieces. Well done! :)
Love your blog!
LK
I love the skinny belt and great colour!
Thanks for sharing! LOx
Not the most practical, unless he never tires of standing.
A creative way of solving the common problem of where to place the jacket when not wearing it.
I would have a hard time squeezing it under the belt though. Not because there wouldn't be any room, but because of the feeling of abusing a good jacket, getting it all wrinkled.
Regarding the composition of clothes, I think his shorts are way too wide, too long for my taste, and his shoes looks a bit too big for some reason.
Like the dash of strong colour in the belt though, and the heavy keychain together with that lovely blue-toned jacket. A nice way of dressing it all down a bit.
Wow. Good stuff!!!
I like that. :)
smart!
as I said in florence you are a genius to always find the perfect time to shoot
wow, this is really unique. i like it though, its way better than tying the sweater around you waist. i also love the colors, lime green, blue, and brown.
Wait until someone rifles through the pockets of his jacket (which he won't feel because it's behind him) and then nicks his wallet - then he won't feel so smart...
Great vibrancy
Men are so clever!!
N'importe quoi!
pure genious
Love it!
That's funny, I thought my dad is the only one who does this with his belt :)
Here's one accessory that is definitely worth its weight. And in a great, punchy color too... just hope his pants aren't loose :)
That indeed is clever!
great idea!!!
i like it, elegant functionalism rules!
hahahaha handy!
Nice pants and shoes!
xx http://asianeyedgirl.blogspot.com/
heh i use my belt like this too
First love that zingy fluro belt cutting across the cool colours, then the shots of warm colours in the background - hot pink, orange, red, yellow.
Hey & I like his jacket slung through the belt! Never seen that before.
love the colour and composition of this shot the pink through yellow to blue is fabulous.
Prada hands free?
Good idea!
:)
S
the belt's color is so elegant to see.
Clever:) It's nice to see sometimes that people use their clothes for what it's worth. It's not necessarily ruining their style. Overloaded pockets are another example.. Btw, thumbs up for italian men, and their clothing style! :)
I'm amazed at the way how he pulled up the floroscent belt with that attire. looks gr8.
- Pravin
Such an appropriate misappropriation. Style is about ideas, isn't it?
So funny. I laughed when I saw this. I do like the color combo, especially the neon belt.
so funny! I laughed when I saw this. But I do like the color combo - especially the neon belt.
yay!
Those shoes!
Too cute.
lol creative way to hold on to stuff. luv the colour of the belt
So funny !!
And class to !
Great idea!
Hmm interesting idea. I wonder what the belt is made of. Must be elastic. Please send me one and the shoes and jacket too while you are at it.
Excellent idea, practical and original
Thats an interesting idea, indeed.
Lindo, que sapato maravilhoso!
Peculiar end to the shoes...like!
This, gentlemen, is what we call "MacGyver Style".
You gotta love the attitude behind this. Makes you wanna know more about the individual.
His style is very cool too.
Are those Hermes Quoique shoes he's wearing?
Love the shoes and shorts most.
--and a great idea with a jacket or blazer you don't want getting overly crushed from the usual tie around the waist. Although I will say that fluoro colour belt is all wrong.
I love this picture ... as usual...
http://audreyismyfavourite.blogspot.com
love the style.
That is the crystalization of the fuctionality of clothing meeting style. Awesome!
love the classic blue shirt and khaki bottom look! and that belt! such a twist to the whole outfit =)
belts can be very useful!
have to think about it!
really like ur blog
http://in7thheavenwithmarc.blogspot.com/
very cute. Intelligent guy!
simona www.thestylehelp.blogspot.com
Ha! I do that all the time. Folders, sunglasses, sweaters, whatever.
This guys just happens to do it with 110% more stylish things than I do.
Great shot.
That's kind of cute... I'd like to see more of this.
who would've thought a belt would be so useful! Amazing!
http://www.tatianamestre.com/
For a minute I thought the jacket was an addition to the shorts and I got really excited. Still love the flashes of neon with camel/khaki/caramel thing that's going on right now though.
Lazer detail! Looks nice the khaki shorts.
Interesting? - yes. Fashionable? - No. I really do not care for the chain-on-the-wallet look either. But, hey I wore my sweatshirts inside out in the 80's. This (fleece-in-the-belt) look is far better than that silly 80's trend, so anything can catch on.
Really? It reminds me of my grandson's shoe velcro sticking to his behind when he crouched down and when he rose his shoe was stuck to his butt. His sister laughed her head off. Tell you something? I think this looks stupid. Don't like the shoes or chain either. Doesn't leave much...
Fun!!
OMG! I love fluo colors and this belt is awesome, especially on a man!
www.abitoffashion.com
Why not?!!! And imagine what he can hang from that chain!
Oh please, I've done this with my belts ever since I can remember. Perhaps this is more of an European thing (I'm from Finland).
Pia
Love the background colours but hte belt...
http://coolneeded.blogspot.com
haha what a gorgeous image.
www.beautifulstreets.blogspot.com
One of the few sartorial traits in the military is where soldiers choose to place their berets when they're not wearing them. Some put them boringly in a pocket, some wear them British-style folded on their shoulder and some do as this gentleman does, and tuck them into the belt (both the back and right side are popular. Never in the front.)
so cool!
hahaha that's very funny. I like his chain as well.
http://watermelonfeet.blogspot.com
Oh my, not to be redundant, but those are some large shoes. Love the belt, but the jacket just looks silly.
I would like to see him fold/hang his jacket over the chain.
Wow! Is that a design? Or just another man putting it that he doesn't know...
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ahahaha! Better than wrapping it around the waist like I did in the 90s. YUCK!
Peacocking!
[Why bring the jacket if it's so warm you need to wear shorts?]
Love the color composition of the entire shot! Hot pink, yellow, lime green & blue! Beautiful!
great shoes, etc., but when oh when will those chains go away???
The mix of colours of the photo is amazing!
So cool!
JUST GREAT AND IT IS WORTH A SMILE.I GUESS IT WOULD NOT BE SO OBVIOUS,IF THE BELT WOULD BE MORE TONED DOWN AND NOT IN SUCH A GREAT NEON GREEN!
How have I never seen this before? I think it looks great. Love how the flouro best clashes with the more classical and muted tones. A+
http://ismybloggytoobloggyliciousforya.blogspot.com
I'm digging the other guys bangles - - sexy. More jewelry on men!
funny!! i like the neon
<33
heelsandinspiration.blogspot.com
nicely done. but, i wouldn't do this with a blazer--WRINKLES. if sweater is fine.
the nerve! gotta love function :)
I love it! Such a great color against the beige shorts.
I dont think the gentleman was trying to create a style but look out for copycats around the world who try to mimic this look. I am kind of sick of seeing copycats. Dont you guys see that ppl these days dressed the same - globally?
that is multifunctional!
XOXO,
http://outfitid.com/
such a great balance- the subtlety of the classic khaki and striped shirt, the playfulness of the shorts, a really great shoe and then that super bold pop of neon! well done!!!
THE BELT WOOOWW!!
http://my-fashion-concept.blogspot.com/
really cool!:D
thats a genius idea!
love everything about this! clever use of the belt and each item works so well together. the splash of neon is fabulous
http://style-haus.blogspot.com/
Nice choice of colour, very vibrant
www.arashmazinani.com
Love this neon colour. Classic.
that's so funny , it's so simple but so genius at the same time . i really like how much the belt pops out .
artsysunday.blogspot.com
Very innovative!
I love it -- summer always brings this predicament: when it's too hot during the day for a jacket, but too cold at night to be left without one
I mentioned the length of the man's shorts above (way too long in my opinion). Felt I just had to get it off my chest, that we men have got much to learn from women regarding this issue.
No matter how great, tall or slim you look, shorts of that length ending right on the middle of the calves, will turn any man into looking like a misshaped midget.
In my opinion, shorts ending somewhere around the knee, or a few inches above are optimal.
I'll never be able to get into oxfords with no socks. I don't think it looks bad aesthetically, but it lacks a certain honesty or consistency (not sure what it is exactly).
fashion geniousness ;)
http://iamfightingfashionwarrior.blogspot.com/
Love!
http://itsola.blogspot.com/
Looks like it's from Jil Sander's SS 2005 collection. I have the same colour from that year, but it's slightly wider, so I'm not sure. I also have one in neon pink from that Jil collection that's that exact size. Maybe there are several versions. Who knows?
Shoes look like they might be from Calvin Kllein... Nice.
And don't we all have our hands full all the time, so we come up with such ideas!
Wow actually love this, the belt idea was so so smart!
http://fashionsmind.blogspot.com/
The belt in this image and the broom in the previous are so similar. Glad to see this color show up twice in a row!
i love how the neon belt pops!

haha genius
haha this is hilarious.great photo.love the outfit and how he matches a yellow belt with a classic shirt and classic shoes and shorts!
The neon green with khaki shorts is cool. The chain belt and brown shoes let's me know this guy is not afraid of mixing it up. The secondary use for the belt is, um, creative to say the very least!
http://fashionistaspalace.com/blog
I love the belt, but it's the shoes that capture my attention!
Check your credit
It's the human coat rack!
There is an interesting parallel between this photo and the last. I really appreciate the quality and consistency of your taste.
Wow, what a creative look - between the multi-tasking belt, the chain wallet and the pressed khakis with dressy shoes, this is quite unique!
My guess is that this isn't a true belt, rather a nylon webbing tie-down strap of sorts. This would be quite innovative. If this is the case, the guy may have purchased several for less than $10 in total.
his shoes are to die for
the perfect shape and my favourite colour...
ha, ha, great snap, it is stylish and practical
http://elenavasilieva.blogspot.com/
i absolutely love the touch of neon green with the neutral rest of the outfit.
Very cool outfit. The color of the belt gives it such a twist.
I would have loved to see that guys face though...
I have taken to tucking my hat in a pocket or in the small of my back to get it out of the way +(mind you, I mean driver's hats or 8/4 hats, or even a crushable fedora). This picture illustrates a very effective way to keep track of your outergarment and still have it out of the way --and out of the dirt. Very smart way to go.
bellissimo.
Very clever!

-the diary of a fashion stylist-
Sorry Scott. Can't get into this. The awful shorts length (I know they're not Dickies, but they remInd me of them), the wallet chain(Chrome Hearts?) and the rest of the ensemble, seems like 'Tommy Lee attempts la bella figura'. Was he Italian? When I was in Florence last summer, I saw beautifully dressed Italian men that would sooner die than take their jackets off. And the guys that did, still did it with real sprezzatura. The jacket in belt isn't insouciant, it's just sloppy no matter how ingeniously or nicely he folds and tucks it.
Hipster chic and "right on the money".
Man you have an eye for detail!!
That's a man with confidence! Patsy from
HeARTworks
The skinny green belt is such a nice detail.

I like how the belt is the same colour as the broom in the previous picture
This is inventive :)
http://jordanduvall.com/
Not very practical, unless he never tires of standing.
there are so many nice things happening with this outfit but that stuffed jacket under the belt is not one of them. hmmm? wonder the circumstance?
*sP
I would love to see the outfit with the blazer on (neon yellow/green with navy blue? how cool is that?).
Awesome way to get a jacket off your hands!
I would LOVE to see what the top half of this gentleman looks like! *drool*
that's rad :)
http://faialofa.blogspot.com
great idea!
love the colors together
I think the belt is from Too2Late, and as they make them from a special very strong material, it won't snap!
Love this post!
It is a very good combination. Especially, the combination of the colors is wonderful. I want to refer.
Now there's an idea I haven't tried.
Love it.
After seeing the Prada womenswear show back in fall 06, I've always wanted to try the coat/jacket/blazer belted on the waist...nice to see someone execute it off runway, just worry about the wrinkles though...
make me smile!
love that color so fresh:)
I can barely stand how chic this is. So fantastic. So much better than tying the sleeves around your waist. Superb!
love it!
so "new" chic
This is amazing. I love it!
LOVE IT!! He is too smart! hehe
ooooh such clean, crisp and effortlessly chic style. too cool!
