Comments on "On the Street....Color Study, Tokyo"
Cute socks! Love the shawl.
I do like the style.
ME,
The first outfit I don't like, ever since I'm following The Sartorialist.
I have felt like that before......smiles.
PERFECT except for the cigarette. ruins everything.
ohh I like this fluo-colour thing a lot.. just great:) (chekc the nail polish!)
great colour flow!
The cigarette makes it.
Eclectic. That's what I love about Japanese style.
I love the socks/shoes combo!
Lovely colors! Even her fingernails match.
Love the skirt and shawl. Not too sure about the shoes, perhaps with different colour socks.
simple and chic..

I may just have to come up with my own version of this outfit. I love it.
i think her bob suits her round face
Kinda cute - Like the skirt. Too bad about the tag on the scarf....that's just a thing with me ;)
I like her haircut, but that's it. Sorry.

what a beautiful style!
The color's of fashion come in many different fabulous shapes and sizes- this outfit is no exception =)

Don't like it..
I love that shawl. Tokyo has got to be one of my favorite cities in terms of fashion. Everything is so eye catching.
Nice pict...! I like the look on her face... very peaceful.

Those socks! Those shoes!
And a cigarette to top off the blase look.
there are so many blogs nowdays but I really like yours the best. No frills, just observing very artistic and inspiring.

I'm an American who lived in Japan for three years in the early 2000s. Although I turned 40 while I was there and thought my personal style was well developed by that time, I must say that I came back with a very different color sense and still see it reflected in how I dress now. In fact, I wore a turquoise t-shirt and red sandals with jeans yesterday - though I'm still too American to put that together with light green and pink patterns as this charming young woman does! My personal theory is her combination is a logical extension of the traditional kimono and obi combinations that Westerners would not think to put together.
how does she pull it off? so cute..
this is a very cute picture and the cat pumps are seriously cute
http://elenavasilieva.blogspot.com/
Wow, it takes a couple of looks before you even notice the shoes, which in any normal outfit would be going MEOWOWOWOWWWW in your face.
fabulous style...the colour inside
Those shoes are incredible. Do you know if they're Tsumori Chisato?
the shawl is really adorable,
and I kinda like her attitude :)
M
Lovely scarf
love the kitty shoes
Socks with cute shoes.. I don't like the style, but she can rock it.
Love the color combination of the shawl and skirt, and her hair color. Her nail polish matches the socks. Dislike the shoes and socks (together, and with the shawl & skirt) and dislike the cigarette.
I like the color dip dye on the shawl. On trend are the open shoes with socks.Formerly it was a fashion faux-pas, but nowerdays it is a strong fashion trend.Although I dont like her combination of shoes and the kitsch socks.
Why does fluoroscent colour looks so nice on Japanese people?
And they are master of colour!
Likin it!! I love her scarf the colours are great :D
http://fashion-in-pictures.blogspot.com/
I love how the shawl fades from turquoise to white.
Strong color matched together, but The Sartorialist takes always wonderful photos of amazing people.

Love the socks!!! And the connection of socks + shoes.
www.miszelka.blogspot.com
Love the socks, the shoes are very cute, love the colours of the pieces :)
Sweet colors and color combination, like a watercolor painting of the seaside. The shoes are also cute, but let me betray my age if not wisdom: they provide no arch support. She cannot walk far in these shoes....
amazing shoes!!!!
I like the current trend combination of socks with sandals; especially if they are knee-high.
she's my friend OMG !!
and love her style so much XDXD
Oh, it seems she chooses her clothes like a painter chooses his colors. Very nice color combination. And I love her thin articulations with thoses tiny cat shoes.
COOL shoes!!!
http://cestclassique.blogspot.com/
I like the shoes socks combination, the rest is not very notable!
really cute shaw. I love the whole look!
CAT SHOES? Insanely cute :D
cery relaxed..very Japanese...
Who said Blue and Green should never be seen? Love how all the colours work together.
I'm not sure if people can layer colours like they do layers, but this sure seems like it.
just waking up, and too fabulous to try. great shot.
Interesting cat face on the shoes.
Lovely B.
nice color combo, and those shoes are so cuute
http://lavie-amonavis.blogspot.com
The shoes have whiskers! I love the shawl and all the colors are beautiful.
http://watermelonfeet.blogspot.com
Don't like the outfit, socks are terrible, but I love your blog ;)
xo,
Carolina
The shoes are uber-cute. There are far too few shoes on the market with whiskers!
im not so sure about the socks but the little kitten flats are adorable and i like the green and blue together!!

I love shoes & socks together!
MUST.HAVE.THOSE.SHOES.
p.s. only just discovered this blog... what a treat!
x
wow. you would rarely see this kind of outfit in europe or lets say berlin where I am from.
Time for me to go to tokyo to broaden the horizon!
Gorgeous!!
i like the scarf...but it outfit is not impressive i feel
Don't like the shoes & the socks... The rest looks fantastic!
love the fabric!~

Help me here. I don't see "style". It's just a crazy mish-mosh to me.
The woman has a gorgeous face and if you look at her face with shoulders with the shawl - I can see something, but as I scrolled down, I just saw a dis-jointed outfit. The socks and shoes are the worst part for me.
Not trying to be negative, but as an outfit or as a color study, it just doesn't work.......
I love the simple soft flow of color. Especially the way the teal emerges from the white.
It's more about the photograph than the style. I love the picture itself.
http://januaryeleven.blogspot.com/
Her sandals are hysterical...too cute.

I totally want those cat shoes!!! I'm not as daring as she is, but I would wear them with basic jeans and a t-shirt.
To be honest I do not understand most comments as I find them pretty judgemental. Style is subjective and these beautiful people, having a good day or a bad one, on their way to work, school run, they're happy, sad, big, small, they smoke or they don't. whatever, they just came across someone who took their picture and published it.
They're no models nor did they chose their outfits regarding you lot taking it apart imposing your own also very personal and subjective sense of style. " she should be wearing boots.. chucks are this and that...the cigarette ruins everything... me, myself and i..." pretentious at times..tut tut. think outside the box, be tolerant, enjoy accumulated style and color and beauty as the opportunities are rare these days....
I don't get it, I don't like it.
Love colour of scarves
What I love with Japan is that anything goes, it can be crazy or classic, can't think of any place that is better for inspiration than Tokyo. And I love watery colours!
I would sleep in that outfit. The shoes I would wear! And ditch the cig.
I like the photo and I think your shot adds value to the outfit itself... I like her socks though!
http://subconchicness.blogspot.com
love the color of the scarf.
adore it, although with not-patterned socks I'd adore it more. I love wearing socks this length with shoes though!
Aw I can't see the magic in this outfit either, but I can definetly see the confy feeling!
Is there a cat face on her shoes?
xoxo Sandra

Great colors...I don't like the cigarette...and her face is sublime to me!

I'm always amazed at the endless combinations of colors that exist in clothing and how human characteristics factor in, like hair color.
I like her outfit. I like the shoes and the socks so much. I think they are very cool.
To my eyes it looks like a modern take on a kimono. The shawl is beautiful, I will be in Tokyo in a week and I would love to pick up some items like this.
I LOVE THE SHOES! they are adorable! :)
wow japanese people have such insane style. those shoes are one of a kind.
stoneandcloth.blogspot.com
Nix the cig and sox and I'm down with it.
I LOVE The Sartorialist and this is the first time I don't like an outfit. The shot, as usual, is great.
I've seen those shoes at Divia, a store in Buenos Aires.
Far away from Tokyo!
Beautiful and inspiring!
I loved the shoes!
Kisses from Rio de Janeiro!

owhh. I daresay, the color in this photo is quite intriguing. Simple waterfall on top, part on the bottom! amazing shoes. I quite like the contrasts here.
this is very beautiful..I love that scarf
Love she match the pastel tone looks so fabulous .... love it
a lot of color but they match perfectly! great pic!
www.abitoffashion.com
it's just a little bit bit weird, but nice, I love her hair cut
I like this picture. The woman looks comfortable with her surroundings.SarahD
www.myrepublicoffashion.blogspot.com
Just silly to me.
The outfit is neuter... nothing less and nothing more
BUT the colours palette is just gorgeus!!!
And I am completely crazy about the shoes: cat's alike shoes, even with the pair of moustache each!!!
I love them, o my God, I love them
These shoes remind me of the Marc Jacobs mouse flats that I regretted buying the second I put my card in my purse!
She's such a gorgeous girl but this is not doing it for me at all. Each to their own, I guess. Her haircut frames her face exquisitely though.
the outfit would be dull without the socks? the shoes and the cigarette that draws attention to her fingernails)
I do like the style.
I think this look is very unique n I love it. What I like the most is her expression that makes a nice contrast, different impression, from all those cheerful colors.. And it makes this look IMO, uber cool.
I like it so much!
It´s so natural1 the colors are natural green blue I don´t know make me feel good <3
love her shoes!
new fashion pictures on http://www.inclassy.blogspot.com
To me, this looks like the Tokyo version of leaving your house in PJ pants which I find to be quite distasteful! It's an interesting color study but overall I do not like this look even though those cat shoes are super fun!
Those socks and shoes are just plain WRONG.
I love the mice faces on the shoes, very quirky and unique. I find the scarf does take away from the outfit overall though, the sheer size overpowers the dainty qualities of the skirt, shoes and socks.
I don't like it at all..ironic in a very immature way.
She looks so fresh.... except for the smoking..... ha ha

If you take away any of the colours the outfit won't work. It looks great because the colours complement each other.
so fresh!:)
oh i adore the kitten shoes!!!
i would give anything to go to tokyo and witness this amazing fashion!
http://thelusciousmix.blogspot.com/
Did anyone else notice that until you scroll below her waist it looks as if she's wearing a Kimono. I think it's a cool photo.
what an adorable pair of sandals and socks. Über cute!!!
cat shoes?! ridiculously cute!

it's different - it's cute
http://artbymeat.blogg.se
Love this photo!
I like the colours used, but I am having problems with the shoes. It's really disturbing, I think. Otherwise, nice poncho or what you like to call it.
I like the style and I am totally digging the colors!
AMAZING mix of colors! :D
I like that you labeled this colour study as it is very much one, and very interesting. imo the sock could be a bit more elegant but still interesting colors here.
it seems like a modernized kimono. im digging it :)
All these pastels reminds me of easter...
http://www.iamaltamoda.com/
The guy with the yellow hair looks like Tarzan escaped from an Andy Warhol-painting ...
Love the socks; The cat shoes are adorable as well. Meow!
www.jasonromaine.com
I love this look. It's very "i don't care" thrown together. the cat shoes top it off. The cigarette adds to the ensemble completing the nonchalance about her.
I love the shoes!!! The cat shoes...
Without the clashing socks I would love this. It's sort of natural looking.
love the socks!
i love asian styles. how they mix and match colors, paterns ,a nd textures. and it looks a different way on them them=n it does anyine else, it just fits.
