On the Street....Back at Pitti, Florence
Alright!
I should be back on a more consistent posting schedule for the next several weeks, if not for the rest of the summer.
I am really inspired by some of the young guys that I'm meeting at Pitti. They seem to appreciate the elements of quality that great menswear can offer and yet approach and use these elements in a more modern and experimental way.

Fabulous.
love it!
Interesting - his watchband worn over his shirt cuff, the brown shoelaces in the black shoes...
Great colours, great hair! A nice beard on a man is a good, good thing...va
like his attitude !!
excellent !
nice phone, too.
The dark shoes as a contrast to the light jacket, where most men would use the freedom to go with lighter leather on the shoes, is so good. Perfect twinge of subtle modernity
nice blazer, I love the color of it!

He's so stylish... I wish all men would dress like him!

I like how he combines the butter-yellow sakko with the light blue chemise.
Wow love the color contrasing, so unique!

Love the caramel laces on the shoes, what a great detail!
this picture is awesome...everytime an inspiration
From head to toe..very smart looking!
the colors are so harmonious: the butter yellow jacket, light blue shirt, navy tie. you could actually see this color combo in someone's home. its warm and inviting. having the dark pants and shoes draws the eyes upward, so you are inclined to notice the face of the man and not necessarily the outfit first.
The look is amazing, very nice picture, I was wathicing the live streaming of your intreview in Barcelona and you said something about a tv. show, I think we´re all going to be very happy if that show can be online because that is the esence of what you so please keep that in mind.
You have an excelent (and Garance)so make the best fashion tv show.
Thnak you very much, kepp surprising us.

I love the colour of this jacket, it is very modern. Also, the combination of the dark pants with the light jacket is surprising and works well.

WOW! I'm a girl and I'm so excited to try on a look inspired by this!
Can I be daring and say that the background in this photo does all the talking? I mean, his outfit is sensational. I love it. But I love Florence more!
Dashing... he reminds me of modern Mr. Darcy. Love your blog.
Donde encuentras hombres tan guapos???????

I think the word quality best describes this pics. It's beautiful!

Greattttttt !!!
I´m from Bahia (Brsil ). I love so much your Blog !!!
Yes, do love your blog and tell people about it all the time. Inspirational for all in the creative endeavors. Great style this Florence guy has. Maybe it is my conservatism in dress but the shoe laces seem to detract from the wonderful balance he has attained with all of the wonderful contrasts of coat to shirt to trousers. Beautiful shot.
The best part of this outfit is that ir makes you think "I am copying this inmediately!!! I love this look so much, I just can't express how much, I totally need to try it" then you realize you have all those elements in your wardrobe already, you just hadn't had the "brilliance" to do it... If we just spent more time looking at what we already own and trying new things we could all inspire each other a lot more.
Well put together!
i'm enjoying the light brown laces.
I am enjoying the innovative approaches from Menswear these days.
I like his fro'
Felicia
Can't say it better, love Italian men!
SART, Thank you very much. This is a sweet little ensemble here. I like linen and suede any day. This is indeed the updated "soft" look with un-construction. The slim fit pants substitute nicely for the old loose linen pant look. Love this, love this.
I agree with the other commenters that the watch over the cuff is really unique.
Almost like a wrist belt. That tells the time...
Fantastic color jacket, and with the light blue shirt, wow! Cuffs on the shirt must be so perfectly fit to wear with the watch over it, and brown laces compliment his oh so cool afro. He could even add a little color to the socks to make the whole ensemble pop even more. Makes me happy.
I love the camel shoelaces - such a nice contrast, and ties in nicely with the buttons on the blazer.

yum!
i'm a big fan of those brown suede wingtips with the contrasting laces, and the entire look really; except for the watch over the shirt. i know stylish guys have done this, but i can't seem to warm up to it.
The watchband around the cuff is something I'll definatley try - It's certainly a strange touch, but an interesting one, and a small one which people will pick out and really think about. Sure the colours give you an overall impression, but the abovementioned two interesting details make someone think even harder about this man.
My favourite bit is the lighter laces, but I'd happily do without the beard..in fact now I look again it's not the beard that bothers me, it's the hair; I'd like to see it shorter or longer enough to be messy-looking. Is he wearing a wrist-support on his right wrist? There appear to be a couple of blue bands & that's all I can think they might be...
That is what I'm talking about here - a nice reboot to your blog. This is a fantastic outfit. I love the entire ensemble - the shoes, the coat, the colors. The dude just fits it. And the Agnelli-like watch wearing actually fits together well. Keep putting out stuff like this - this is what inspires me.
ONE WORD, FANTASTIC! Who is this guy? He's is bad-a*@
I love his use of color.
The cut of his clothes is impeccable.
hmm..if all men can be just appreciative of menswear as the young men you've met in Pitti!

The shoes are in a nice contrast with the stone, even that matches!Perfect photo and perfect outfit. And I love his hair and beard. Because once again, I just love beards.:)
the watchband around the cuff thing is a cheap agnielli rip-off. that style is simply too iconic to be copied. that doesn't work on anybody else, sorry!
I love the contrasting laces on his shoes.
Reading your blogpost; I so want to go there! :)
Just to look.
Or I might send my brother!! lol
he looks like joel coen. oh yes, flawless style as well. so many colors, yet perfectly matched. and sophisticated. and love the watch over the sleeve. unusual, in a good way.
Sacha Baron Cohen, with style... Approved.

love the colors mix interesting !!!
the guys looks amazing!
always loved the blog
kudos x
all i want for next Christmas is him!
It's the likes of this fellow that always make me feel so scruffy in Italy...
He somehow reminds me of german singer Max Herre, but Max has the certain bit more coolness and nonchalance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KyOyAPYSlk
Look at the way he wears his watch. Rocks.
Super stylish. (faint)
super stylish. heart it.(faint)
Does anybody recognize the mobile phone ?
i love this! especially how his laces contrast his shoes.
I can only say, fantastico!
He's really inspiring.
Clean, simple and sophisticated!
HOTTTIIEEE!!! What's the virtual equivalent of a wolf- whistle?
So many details to his effortless look; luv the watch worn on the shirtcuff... and is that a turquoise bracelet on his right wrist?
the watch over the sleeve is great
Brilliant! All elements of his outfit so carefully chosen in every, single, smallest detail!!
He really looks great / makes impression
The watch worn over the shirt is a distinguishing feature of Gianni Agnelli back in the italian 70s.. >>

great jacket&shoes
:)
Ah,your pitti posts are really some of my favorites.
Love his look, except perhaps the colour of his jacket.
I desperately need to embark upon a shopping trip to Italy.
Classical blue shirt, black pants enhanced; I would've never thought of using a light-beige (what color is it?) jacked and brown laces, very original.
And what's with Italians and the watch over the cuff thing?
Are you considering visiting Mexico sometime? You'd find interesting styles here too!
That is totally fantastic and inspiring.
Great style. Very Italian: a lot of thought has gone into the style, yet it does not look overdone or over the top!
Thanks for the post.

Sart has actually spent several posts on one of his fashion icons, Gianni Agnelli, in the early days of this blog. Look back through '08 and you should find them. The watch over the cuff is pure Agnelli.
The best part of the outfit is how he wears his watch over his shirt cuff!
nice photo. great scene

I can't believe someone is asking about his phone.... There is so much more going on here than a dumb cell phone.
wow...he's hot.
Tiffany said that "quality" describes this image--I was searching for the right words and I don't think I could find a better description.
Love how his dark hair, beard and glasses are highlighted by the lighter jacket. The shoes are awesome too.
Seth Green
great jackets...great shot
this picture is awesome...great inspiration
Great styling: particularly loving the detail of having the watch rest above the cuff of the shirt.
Lovely combination of subtle colours and the watch over the cuff is very Gianni Agnelli!
love the look. the shoes. the jacket. all well put together.
great style. Love it!

I really love this look

the watch over the cuff is actually a fairly common trend (if a little old fasioned) from italiant man. however, in general, this is used when the watch is too big to fit underneath the tailored cuff which is not the case here (since the watch is so flat). It therefore is a little too much, especially on the part of a young man, and shows that he is not a natural dresser. IE: I would drop the watch, the rest is fine.
Crazy-face Maradonna is running the watch over the cuff at the World Cup. In fact, dude's running one on each wrist.
Wa .
I love his hair, his shoes, his trousers, all !
Cool and calm.
Check out his watch! He is wearing it over his shirt, no? Che figgo! Lui e' bravissimo.
as a skateboarder who reads this blog, can we get some details about this location? Anyone know the neighborhood?
WOW! Screech cleans up pretty good :)
It must be the actor in this movie. otherwise, he has a very good look-alike
