Comments on "On the Street....Ready for Summer, Milano"
Hmm I can't wear my watches like that on the outside, italian thing?
He is one gorgeous creature
i like this! great style.
Beautiful!! Fresh and springful!
i like the watch wearing on shirt
Cool, he wears his watch above his shirt!
lookin sharp
I love the fact that he is wearing his watch outside his cuff just like Gianni Agnelli.

tres classieux, j'aime beaucoup!

A watch on top of the shirt ;D
Love his style. Please marry me!
fantastic shirt + coat combination. question: are the tilted sunglasses intentional or not?
That's an absolutely beautiful jacket, is it cotton or linen? Trousers are a great colour to.
Is the DB blazer a bit too big for his frame? I am looking at the jacket shoulders vs. his natural shoulders, and the roominess of the fabric below his chest. Not sure about this one. Jorge from WPB
I usually don't comment on things I don't like, but now I have to. I like the outfit a lot, but the head doesn't fit.
I saw this picture coming onto the screen from down up, and thought that the carrier would have been older. I think he seems too young for the clothes.
Hard to explain, but that's just how I felt when I saw this. On the other hand, many young men in Italy wear stylish clothes from young age, the ones that I would think men in their 40s wear.. to me that's a bit boring.
He is good-looking and the outfit too, but not together imho..:)
CLEAN, SHARP, CLASSIC
the sunglasses in this pic are a fatal flaw.
Sometimes I put my watch on like that as one of my blouses tight sleeves won't let it go on underneath. But then I always end up taking it off before I leave the house as it seems a bit weird and is uncomfortable.
The watch, not the blouse.
He looks comfortable though. I do like his hair.
he is very elegant!
I think the model of the jacket is too classic for someone of his age.
i love his style! superb blazer!!
fashion atelier.
He's having a great style.
I like the fact that his blazer is double-breasted, looks great in a light colour. Better than a suit blazer.
Ahhhh.... You just have to love a man who can dress. And a man who can dress but does it effortlessly. We are seriously missing that in Atlanta. Great blog!
yes mate, spot on
what a really terrific,
classic blazer,
such well tailored linen.
very italian,
very milano.
i like the watch placement,
as well.
spring fling, Gorgeous!!

Absolutely perfect men's look.

I like the particularly with the watch. This makes the difference! BELLO
exquisitely executed!
http://randomnotesonrandomstuff.blogspot.com/
I like the watch over the cuff feature too! And the color / pattern combination of the tie / shirt.
Sunglasses seems to be the second showpiece to me; at first sight they complement perfectly, but if I look long enough I wonder if they really fit him... interesting effect.
The jacket doesn't fit that well and I think he should rethink his choice of sunglasses. Sorry.
Fresh. I like the tortoise shell watch.
Gorgeous! Love the linen coat.x

He looks very chic and debonair! Fabulous style.
Parfait. Look gracieux, amusant et élégant à la fois.
handsome and stylish.

i love clean cut men. he can definitely pull this one off!

The shirt and tie are spot on. The watch is very Agnelli. The coat, i don't know, looks a little ill-fitting, I guess. No to the shades.
A couple people have commented on the age of the man as not fitting with the style of the clothes, but I think that is exactly what I like. He is rocking a style usually seen on men a generation or two older than him. It's a kind of a subtle boundary transgression. A boundary I didn't know people held so dear. Does he create his own world? Is it filled with ideas so different from all of ours? Does he study the past? Have a great connection with his grandfather? Is he a TIME TRAVELLER???!!
But how thought-provoking, beautiful, and emotional. I love him.

Why can't people here dress like that? Or better, why can't I be there!?
waw...beautiful...very chic
I definitely like the watch thing, but I don't like the rest.
Nice shirt, nice tie, great color combination...
However, unlike all the others who praise the fact that he is wearing the watch on the shirt, I would like to say that this spoils the whole picture...together with the sun glasses...
A watch should not be worn like that...OK, so he's got a Swiss watch, so what? He's a show off! "Look at me, look at me!!" Trying to be bling... A watch even if it's a 300K piece has to be a discrete presence on a man's hand, because it makes everyone else (at least those who observe it) curious and wondering what timepiece is he wearing...That of course if he is not wearing a fake/replica watch which would make things even worse...
All in all, bling and show off, he's like standing there waiting for someone to photograph him and put him in a fashion magazine...
I don't really like anything about him, especially the conceit of wearing his watch over his cuff. But the fabric in his jacket is divine, linen is the best when it's hot and damn the wrinkles.
Sorry, but I can't give this guy props: his hair needs washing, and he doesn't pull off the two-day stubble very well in my view.
Also, I question the fit of his shirt. Look at those folds of cloth on either side of the tie; it's too large for him and the collar stand is so wide that the knot of his tie seems puny. Though the jacket is nice and the watch-as-bracelet is an interesting touch.
I think a gunmetal linen or a sateen light blue linen might have fit better for this look. Dimensionally, the outfit works and he does seem to be very well accessorized.
The DB looks like a lab coat
@Maija. What ages his outfit is the fit of his double breasted jacket. A sure fire way to add years to an otherwise classic ensemble is to have it ill fitting and slack where it needs not to be. If his jacket where a 40 Regular, and then tailored to sit close on but not cinch his waist, then his appearance would seem more youthful with a nod to the old school.
Oh, and I think a more classic styled tortoise shell eyewear would have properly framed his face and finished off the overall look of the outfit. BUT this is a first I've seen a ticket pocket that is also a patch pocket. Fresh! Are his pants navy or purple? Either way it looks great in overall concept but moderate in execution.
I think this would be perfect, except for the three day beard. I don't like it with the tailored look, and the beautiful watch.
Sorry!
The watch wore like this is an italian thing, was done first by the president of Fiat, the late Mr. Agnelli. It looks tacky and snobbish at the same time to me.
I don't like the jacket with the pants. The sunglasses - ugh. The watch worn over the shirt sleeve - yuck. The hair - need I say more? He looks like he's pretending to look summery, but that would be quite hot to wear. I preferred the man in all white - now he looked like he was dressed for hot weather. This guy is just trying.
I don't see that the jacket is ill-fitting, I think he looks gorgeous, the red white and blue thing is wonderful. I love linen for summer, and as usual, people in Milan dress in a class by themselves.
Love the white of the jacket on the white of the background. Beautifully exposed photo.
What a chic dude!
Clean lines, smart jacket, lovely :)
Enjoying the watch over shirt...

That jacket is ah-mazing.
What a great spring ensemble. (:

I'm afraid Montague the Monocle nailed it with one gimlet eye. I would add, maybe it's time for a haircut? Other than that, splendid!
The jacket, the shirt, his skin, the sky...
i love the color combos, really subtle!
its probably just me but im not loving the glasses.. :(
theballonrouge.blogspot.com
Agree with what Montague the Monocle said. The jacket is great, it just doesn't seem to fit quite right. Love the colors and the feel to this shot, though. Makes me want some nice warm weather here!
International playboy! :)
looks good
http://bigmouthvintage.com
The only thing I like is the second pocket on the right of the jacket. I've never seen a patch ticket pocket before.
Apart from that its all slightly too big, too low, too baggy, too affected...
Easy on the fit, people, he's presumably a real person, not a model. The shoulders fit perfectly, particularly for a double-breasted jacket. Any narrower and it would look like an unstructured lab coat. As for the rest of the fit, with his hands in his pockets it's really impossible to see how the jacket naturally hangs on him. If you want to see real ill-fitting clothes, come to the West Coast! Anyway, it's all about the linen with dark accents as a seasonal transition, IMO, and it's beautiful.
Handsome man with lovely clothes!
jorge and eric are right, that coat´s just too big on him. the sartorialist has always been preaching of the importance of fit, and it is the most important thing indeed.
watch over cuff does not save this look, sorry to say.
A real dandy.
He is so hot! Great outfit!
that jacket is very nice, but a little too large in the body and too long. and the agnelli - watch over the cuff - is trying a little too hard, isn't it? i mean, as a whole look, he's great - handsome dude, etc, but since the jacket is so light, it needs to fit better.
The deal with the sunglasses - ever have a pair of Persols? That's the way that frame fits, tilted on the face and big. Couldn't be more italian (well, maybe Prada or Zenga, ok) couldn't be more classic italian. With Persols you take the good with the bad.
LOVE his LIPS;)
Great photo, Sart! I do believe this outfit comes straight from a photo of Luciano Barbera. The jacket does see rather big, but overall a splendid effort.
Oh man, the watch vanity thing, again. Every other Italian wants to be like Agnelli...
Affected and vain, that's what this is.
gaudy. sorry but I really think this is the kind of guy we Italian women (or rather Milanese with some taste) tend to leave aside.
everything is fake in this guy. and the sunglasses, puh-leeease, there are some newer and more tasteful styles out there that might fit him better.
I leave it to other girls.
the shoot is great though. Sorry Scott.
wand
I hate that he is wearing his watch outside his cuff just like Gianni Agnelli.
The jacket may seem a bit large compared to the current Pee Wee Herman fit in fashion. (Soon to be pathetically out of date.) Besides, I do not believe a superb fit is any substitute for style.
Would have preferred a less perfectly squared hankerchief. A little nonchalant sloppiness would have given the whole ensemble some snap.
As for sunglasses: maybe he just had cataract surgery! (Of course I'm being sarcastic!)
I've always thought Agnelli's watch over shirt was an affectation. All the more so when done in imitation by someone else. (Tried it once for 5 minutes... felt ridiculous.)
Ciao!

Lovey ! This outfit is simply wonderful :)
http://faialofa.blogspot.com/
I agreed with Maija that his head doesn't fit. I thought at first he had a topknot too.
I think he's showing too much collar under his tie, but maybe that's a new style.
I am not crazy about his look..there is something that is not working but I can't tell what it is, so for now, I wiold take him home and undress him!
Does'nt he look a lot like tom cruise?
sunglasses and watch on the cuff, down!
terrific!!
I could pluck the lovely jacket and hanky and leave the rest.
He looks not just a bit of a roué to me. Dislike the light jacket with the very dark pants. The tie is too dark as well.
And do shave!!
The fit and style of the blazer and the knot of his tie, his shirt front - it looks all wrong to me until I notice the watch. Loads of personality.
Elaine
Something about the knotting of the tie and the bunched shirt below the collar makes him look a bit choked. Also I think the pocket square should be a pale colour, not chalk white, and should be more playfully deployed. I'm really not loving this watch-on-sleeve caprice, and the patch ticket-pocket.
"I hate that he is wearing his watch outside his cuff just like Gianni Agnelli"
Me too!
yeay, finally men in suits are back on your page... nice :)
The "Agnelli style" rocks!
I love the color, its really subtle! Love the white of the jacket on the white of the background. Beautifully exposed photo.
I am pretty sure the blazer is Jean Paul Gaultier - I own the EXACT same one in black pinstripe- the material is stretchy - some sort of blend.
wow charm and gorgeous guy, just adorable!!
Perhaps this outfit codes differently in Italy, but to me he looks like the type of ickily-dissolute frat boy I made a point of staying far away from. (The jacket could be nice in a different context, though.)
Is it just me or do double breasted coats leave some people look like they're wrapped up in a fabric condom?
Darting on the jacket might've given some structure and saved him from the condom look...
Perhaps some looser fitting pants as well...
I'm not really feelin' the double breasted cream blazer. Cheers!
